I can say this in all honesty, FA is by far the most talented of all servers I have personally experienced. I wish populations between Mag and FA were more equal. But it isn’t like we only lose to FA because you guys have a better oceanic presence unlike some other server we are facing.

i dont know if we are playing the same game or not. NA prime-time Kain has somewhere between 300-400 PPT…. . Since 6 hours after reset, we never had PPT less than Mag or DB. We had slow start, due to Mag and DB ganging up on Kain. GL in the future.

That is far from the truth. From 7PM EDT on Friday until somewhere between 3-5 EDT both Maguuma and DB had higher scores than Kain. That is a little more than six hours.

And, no, you didn’t have a slow start because the opposing servers ganged up on Kain. All BLs were equally trashed by other servers. You guys failed at doing anything substantial in EB besides holding SM while your section of EB went down in flames mostly by us Maggies, but also with some Dragonbrand people taking that section from time to time.

Guess what? When servers start losing heavily, the fairweather people disappear. But when all things are equal, like on reset night, Kain has done poorly two weeks in a row…

Kaineng got its butt kicked on reset. Its NA crew rides the back of its oceanic crew. And its worse than any server I have seen in the past few months.

As far as I know all members that had been banned have been unbanned. I dont think its really fair to say just because they stay extremely tight in battles that they all bot. But as ive said in previous match up threads please dont talk about this here. If you really think someone is botting there is a report button. QQing about it here is just gona start drama.

And if Kaineng cared about its community it would police itself from botters. Although it is doubtful Kain has much of a community since it appears to be comprised of people whose sole reason to WvW is to get to T1 by restarting at T8, and some bandwagoners that hopped on along the way.

Kain’s doing most of the trash talk itt. DB and Mag might not have the numbers at all times. But last night we routed your server so badly there was accusations of double teaming heh. And it wasn’t even like DB or us were doing anything magical. In Eternal after Kain lost SM, WM ran straight to SM even though we were taking everything including your keep. There wasn’t strategy. It was pretty funny to see that.

And as far as your night crew goes. That’s not particularly anymore scary than when DB had that sort of thing going for it. If servers don’t have Oceanic presences you guys will get free passes to higher tiers where your weaknesses will began to show.

As long as FA is pitted with a server that isn’t dead, they will be able to handle you guys a bit better round the clock.

The theme that drives Kaineng threads is the NA primetime players being very bad at WvW and especially PvP. That’s usually the common issue.

NA Kaineng is really bad (And that’s not meant to say all of Kain’s NA is bad). I think DA’s NA when they were super zergy was way better.

I am surprised that DB isn’t able to counteract Kain’s oceanic presence that much. I guess Kain is now taking over DB’s role.

And I highly doubt queues are bugged for select servers and not all. They’d all coded the exact same way. A more logical solution is people are joining the map and not doing anything productive like doing their dailies or getting map completion.

MMO players just love jumping vapid conclusions… Proof of concept, just look at the guy legitimately believing there’s an alliance going on when all the home borderlands are all painted the colours of both enemies.

Let me fill you in on some “logic”. All the servers can run the same code, and a couple may read the code wrong, glitch, bug. Thats what a glitch is, thats what a bug is. The effect on players who don’t play the TP is minimal, you are already affected by players who flip the items YOU sold and force you to pay higher prices later on – for the same item! Also many players have set their goals a little too high, they are aiming for items which are available in a very limited quantity only. The price of those items however is dictated by the top percentile of the users which managed to accumulate wealth which exceeds any reasonable limit. You will therefor NEVER be able to reach your goal as long as those players are able to make new gold FASTER than you can.

There are no player shops in this game. People have to use the TP to sell their goods. So some people with little money would make 70s on 1g instead of 85s on 1g. That’s incredibly harmful to the average player.

And gold gained from the TP is not newly minted gold.

Actually, that’s not right; farmers generate gold and excess gold in the economy is the big thing that will result in general across the board price level increases over time. An excess of money supply devalues the currency, and by devaluing the currency, you end up with increasing price levels. Farming is like printing money in a real economy.

No it isn’t. “Printing cash” does not mean physically printing money. The analogy is bad. I could also point out reserve requirements impact inflation. And a bigger money supply can lead to higher output of production which can drive down prices as well, if that capital is implemented that way.

You fail to account for the fact that only items vendored creates coins, and omnomberry bars and other coin boosters with coin drops.

The majority of wealth players bring to their accounts from farming is crafting materials, ectos from salvaging, selling rares and exotics on the TP all are taxed. Which all would have a downward drive on prices, as more supply at higher prices would create surplus.

You have to measure how much new wealth they create vs. the wealth they deplete. And how many times they make transactions with other players. V(elocity) is an important part of the equation as well.

Inflation is measured by the price levels of goods people buy regularly, not the price tags on private jets or other “endgame” goods people buy when they’re extremely wealthy.

The word you are looking for is “different” – “different behavior”.

Good bots attempt to replicate human behavior to avoid detection but tend to be less efficient than bots written with optimal algorithms to solve a domain specific problem. Things like random timings, less than 100% performance, rest times, restriction of focus etc., have to all be introduced in order to simulate human behavior. This may seem like a waste but the idea for the abuser is to automate the process, not to optimize the process.

I observed this behavior and wrote a post on this a LONG time ago (my post was “infracted” so don’t bother searching) – writing a TP bot for buying is trivial although anet did take steps to make it harder (not difficult, just harder).

For Anet though, the problem is that distinguishing (good) bot behavior from that of a committed trader is virtually impossible hence unless Anet does something radical (I would suggest blind “buy” order bidding where no-one can see the existing buy orders unless you have the item in hand to sell) botting and the TP will be an attractive way of making money.

I should also add though – the 1c overbidding on a range of TP items IS a common strategy – I used to do this on a range of armor and it was very profitable and I would repost my bids every 20 minutes (by hand). I’m sure that there are other players doing exactly the same and that IS a part of it, however I have also seen posts by less scrupulous players confirming that they used bots/scripts to automate this task.

Sadly the easy route IS human nature and it is a pity that the TP wasnt better thought out in this regard.

I think you’re over exaggerating. People are not spending 10 hours a day grinding out defense because they don’t enjoy doing it for 7 days straight. You’re OG Maguuma, so you should know we don’t do things if we stop enjoying them.

We learned and know how to stop FA’s siege from the first 3 days, so why should we repeat it for the last 4 if it’s clear how tedious it is? I’d rather we play for fun, and the score we get is the score we get. That means we’ll eventually be in a tier where we can have fun instead of grinding out borderlands defense for 10 hours a day.

Not complainging about WvW population per se. Just the disruption to my WvW experience exhibited by some “Get off our server” people.

With all the servers linked together it very well could be live players.

We are suited for this tier. FA probably is better than T3 now. In fact I believe there may be 4 T1 servers, 4 T2 servers (quality or number wise)… and DB and us are T3 material and we will get stuck with Kain (who may or may not be really good).

T4 isn’t the same. People don’t seem to recognize that. CD was gutted before server xfers for free went away. Yaks didn’t seem to be the same anymore. Moving backwards probably would be boring and people would find other stuff to do.

If you look at the scoreboard… this is not really all that different from when Yaks and others were really strong in T4.

And, also, we aren’t having queues as badly right now and still are remaining within reach of DB.

I been having loads of fun this match up. And from what I have heard from others on public mumble and Pyro mumble, a lot of were enjoying this too.

Easy fix to this: Start targeting the rezzers. I always do (I am a ranger so I usually can do this from safety). The rezzers either back off or they need a rez themselves. Rezzers make themselves prone.

Can’t say there aren’t situations where a zerg can overpower dmg. But usually there is something much worse going on in those situations besides a few rezzed invaders.

For me the bottom line is that it is not fun to have to use swirling winds to drag out the conflict for a keep. The meta has switched to one where you have to have many trebs and many eles doing swirling to do what is necessary to win. This means you are taking a large chunk of players out of actually doing anything but the most monotonous job in the game and forcing them to do that for a long time.

You then have to dedicate people to defend your respective trebs/swirls and sit back as you wait for things to change. If you send too many people off to do something else, you risk your defensive/offensive positions being overrun. I personally feel that swirling winds and all other forms of siege projectile blocks need to be removed. It is simply boring and stopped me from caring about playing today and probably the rest of the week.

It is a very interesting dynamic. But ain’t nobody got time for dat.

I agree that Anet should look into it. WvW should be fun for someone who plays it for 1 hr to 12hrs. And if all people get to do is sit on trebs or stand next to them swirling wind blocking and it adds a lengthy amount of time to siege something… gets boring quickly.

Crafting materials are still safe to invest in as long as you are doing it actively and not passively.

What I mean by this is this:

Active: buying and selling constantly and watching
Passively: buying and then going offline before selling

I doubt inflation is coming. The money supply is not the only thing at play. There’s an increase of supply on a lot of stuff as well.

I don’t care if Mag loses. But I don’t particularly enjoy it either. I think a lot more of us Maggies enjoy match ups like the ones we have right now than the Maggies who want to somehow go back to T4 (which would be super boring these days).

Uh. If people pve, it is less zergy, more fun for smaller groups of player. Hardly would say pve does anything real bad to wvw. Unless of course you are on a server who only relies on #s.

I think all the complainers are thieves and others who abuse the old culling system.
