It depends on the format of the guild. I have already one, that I’m representing and I wouldn’t change that, but I’m 100% for doing legit dungeon runs without stacking in the corner and burning enemies with fiery greatswords (that I consider exploiting).

So if you want to create a guild that will work as an additional friend list, that we can whisper players and ask them if they want to do some dungeons, then I’m in.

Zodical Armors : Lore breaking content

In GW1 Factions, you should become “Closer to the Stars”, the “Factions” equivalent to Prophecies “Ascended”. But zodiacal bodies was only for mobs during this questline, explained by shorter frontiere through “The Mists”. But Zodiacal creatures wasnt “alive”. In GW1 you could loot Zodiac Weapons on those mobs.

Magical thing in Tyria (the world, not the continent) are explained by the Bloodstones. Zodiac and other stuff by “The Mists”. Zodiac Armors bought by players in a cash shop are Lore Breaking. If only they earned it though a quest in “The Mists” to become “Closer to the Stars”… But no, then it’s Lore Breaking.

Does a cash shop with very very high magical stuff is lore breaking ? Yes.
Does we could see something like that in GW1 ? No. Because GW2 is not here to please fans, only to make money. But this is another story.

EDIT : Yes on this pic, Dwayna is wearing something close the the actual zodiac armor. But nobody is astonished ? Players looks like a GOD, but you’re saying to me it’s not lore breaking ??

BLTC merchants can sell whatever they want because they are merchants!
They buy stuff from heroes to sell it to other heroes with profit. Everything that someone can get lore-wise, can be sold by BLTC also lore-wise, so as you said, someone earned this armor throught quest “closer to the stars” and then sold it to BLTC so they can sell it to us.

I don’t get how it breaks lore. Zodiac has had a large presence in overall lore of GW since GW1. Much of the Cantha content was based on the stars and the zodiacs, in fact you fought star constelations in some parts of Cantha. Where is the lore breakage?

In his imagination…

Thank you ArenaNet for a very beautiful armor sets. I’m definitely gonna buy one and then recolor my sylvati to blue skin and mix it with radiant gloves and shoulders.

Well, I don’t. I’m running with my normal fractal stuff, ascended celestial / berserker. I can kill veterans or elites solo, no problem. First day after the patch, I got enought blade parts to craft new ascended back. I’m also not 1111-ing everything, but using all my skills, meteorshowering and icestormfrostbowing everything, but np. I can deal with it. Leechers will always be in games. Previously full-magic-find sets, now PVT sets…

@Korossive: Do you really think that they hardcoded all this stull like this? If yes then you must be new to programming. It would be a total mess to read this code if it was like this…

Probably it looks more like this:
- Someone reads the forums and write down all the bugs, assigning them to teams. This one is probably assigned to some kind of visual team.

- So called Visual team, using tools made by programers, opens some kind of “ini” or “xml” file that is the database of all items. They find Eternity, which is described somehow like this:
<DayModel>filename of the model</DayModel>
<NightModel>filename of the model</NightModel>
<SkillEffect=‘Throwing Skill’>some file describing effect</SkillEffect>

As you can see, they probably haven’t made separate fields for day / night skill effect, allowing them to use only one effect. Media team can’t change it using their tools, so they have to request update of these tools from the programmers team.

Programmers have to modify game engine to allow it reading additional fields, describing effects of the skills during day / night and update tools to be able to read new structure of the files. When they do it (which is probably not as important as other stuff), they forward it back to the Visual team. That team have to put it again on the list of “things to do” and someday select the proper effects.

As you can see, it’s (probably) not as simple as you think. Welcome to the world of corporations and big projects.

I’d love if I could quit for a year, come back, still be in the best equipment. That’s what was advertised – best in slot for everyone, even casuals. As it stands, not only has the old BiS (exotic) been made obsolete, but they admit to having planned further vertical progression through ever-more-powerful infusions.

This means that if real life takes priority for whatever reason, when I come back, I’m behind the curve. This is uncool.

Adding skills, more areas, jumping puzzles, DE’s, dungeons, etc – all of that would be horizontal progression, of which I’m 100% in support of. Adding armour tiers and VP power treadmill? That’s just not cool.

So, to answer the question – yes, I’d love if I could quit for a year, come back, complete whatever new content there was (that didn’t disappear because it was poorly executed temporary content – that’s a different gripe though) and still be in max gear if I decide to pop into WvW or run some dungeons with friends/guildies.

After a year of not playing GW2, I didn’t feel like my character left in exotic items is behind other players. I could still do better than them in PVE.

Still I think that MMORPG is that kind of game, that should be played continously and the longer it can drag you in, the better the game is. I had few games in my life, that I have played for 5+ years.

To ppl that asked for vertical progression...

If you want to know my opinion about ascended – I have left the game a month after release. I was able to get lvl 80 and full exotic armor in less than one month, then I did almost all of the dungeons and for another week I had no motication to do anything in the game. Now I came back partially with introduction of ascended weapon crafting and now I’m playing GW2 as my main MMORPG since they added asdended armor craft. Ascended brought me back to the game. I fully enjoy progression, it gives me a reason to play, to get my equipment maxed.

You have mentioned about games without vertical progression, like LOL, DOTA, TF2 – none of them is a MMORPG. It’s a completly different game, so comparing them to GW2 is not good.

On the other hand, GW1 was more like a singleplayer game for me. I have finished campaigns and left the game for few months, then I turned it on again, created a new character, finished campaigns and left it again, for good. There was no reason for me to do anything else in the game than story. It was a solid game, but I would compare it to games like Heretic 2, Drakan or Tomb Raider, just complete missions and game over.

The bolded part. This is how the game was marketed, and how it was supposed to be. The entire game is end-game.

Introducing gear grind – and yes, it’s grind, and obligatory if you want BiS gear, is what made me essentially stop playing.

Were I to re-download and log into GW today, my characters would all still have the BiS gear that I got on them back in 2006. For someone in GW2, if you’ve been away for a while, you’re going to find that your fully geared character is no longer fully geared – they’re not wearing BiS. Despite over five years of advertising that there would be no vertical progression for stats on gear.

So, I’m polar opposite from you – ascended is the nail that killed it for me.

So basically you want to play the game for a month, then quit for a year, then come back being still in the best equipment, do some random stuff and then quit again for a year? (that’s question, not the statement)

I want to play the game continously and I want to have somme goals in the game. Bu that I’m not saying that Ascended gear is the only goal, but it’s a really good goal for me. The new skills would be really cool too, if they were added more frequently (I really like collecting new skills in games). Right now we have seen only few healing skills and nothing really usefull for me. On the other hand, you might call new skills a horizontal progression, but they are partially vertical too. With new skills you can find something that suits your build more and that will make your build a bit stronger.

No Second Chances on Rewards

I like the rewards being unique and obtainable only during short period of time. I have missed some nice items too (like dragon helmet), but still, if it was possible to get these items anytime, their value would be pretty low. I like when other people are looking at me and they are jaelous that I have something that they can’t get. On the other hand a new player (or me, who missed some nice items) have a motivation to play during all updates, to get as much unique stuff as possible. That stuff is not so cool when it’s released, but after a year or 2 it becomes rare, that if you start wearing it, people will wonder where did you get it.

As I said, I have missed all the cool stuff that I would really like to have, so I’m saying all this as a player, who have almost nothing, so don’t take me as a “big-e-kitten-selfish-guy”, who got everything and want other players to have nothing. I just think that this is better for everyone, because players who are starting now, will eventually get a lot of cool stuff in the future and then this stuff will become more and more unique and valuable.

I’m curious to know if you, the people that asked for vertical progression/gear grind/carrot on a stick, are happy with Ascended gear being added to the game. Is this what you were after? Are you now satisfied? Or are you disappointed? Are you now craving the next level of grind/progression/carrot chasing? Or have you already returned to whatever game it is you came from?

I’d really like to know if this was really worth damaging the game for me and many others.

Those that say Vertical Progression is necessary for a games longevity, then how do you explain successful games such as LoL, DOTA 2, GW1, DAY Z and TF2 (currently 10 x more popular than Planteside 2, even after over 6 years.) all thriving with little to no vertical progression?

If you want to know my opinion about ascended – I have left the game a month after release. Why Tyria?

in Lore

Posted by: yayuuu.9420

yayuuu.9420

Time, advancement and communication:

  • Advancement: Tyria (continent) may be the only place where magical races have evolved. EDs wouldn’t be as interested in non-magical races. Furthermore Tyria (continent) may be the only continent on the planet where magical races can evolve (lack of ley lines and therefore magic elsewhere on the planet?) – this would mean it would be the only place of interest to dragons.

This, at least, is definitely false. We saw plenty of magical races in Cantha and Elona- hell, Elona had djinn, which are advanced elementals- literally sentient beings of magic.

I think he means the rest of the map, so everything but Tyria (continent), Cantha, and Elona. There is a whole globe in the Order of Whispers base showing what appears to be a map of Tyria (world).

Awesome map, never seen this one. Currently even tyria map is not completly filled, but the devs have a potential of making the world so huge in the future and add as many Elder Dragons as they want.

If you want to do a no-trash skipping dungeon, go to the Aetherblade path in Twilight Arbor. That’s fun; right guys?

If you don’t like stacking, then do most bosses in Fractals. Are all of you guys that are complaining about this stuff doing this riveting, engaging non-stacking, no-skipping content?

I’m doing fractals 2-3 times every day. Also doing Aetherblade path in TA from time to time. Other dungeons? rarely and only if I find non-stacking group.
So yes, it is fun, not like stack&spank.

I still think the best way to handle skipping is to leave things as they are now, but make silver mobs drop 2-4 Dragonite Ore each when killed, guaranteed. That way if you want to skip, great, but if you need Dragonite (like many dungeon players do), you could clear the entire path for some killer meaningful loot that doesn’t invoke inflation or any of those other economical troubles.

Tbh at this point im for anything that gives dragonite ore in dungeons… I need it so bad but cant stand meta farming ;_;

And I’m throwing away dragonite ore ;( I’ve spent too much time doing marionette and tequatl…

How many times have you done CoE p3 with stacking Alpha wheneverything worked out fine? As compared to the one example where stacking did not work?
And the next question would be, why did it not work? Failed dodge timing? People not freed from crystals fast enough because that actually works better in a stack? Teeth of Primordus hitting those trying to stack or causing them to run out of endurance for other dodges because people not meleeing him provoked those?
All those are likely possibilities and at least one of those maybe even two were actually provoked by not stacking.

I never did it with stacking. As a stack-hater, I would rather leave party than stack.

You know nothing Agony.

Actually people are not stacking when the content is harder (try to stack in lvl 50 fractal, good luck).
How many times I have to explain, that staying close to each other is not the same as stacking. Stacking is when your whole party is directly in the corner to be able to EXPLOIT bad game mechanics that allows some skills to deal 20x more damage than intended.

Staying close to each other is GOOD, you can support party members like this. That’s how we play in fractals and melee are not dying because I’m using water fields under their feet when they are low in HP. We don’t stand in one corner like brainles dummies and just 12345 like some of the bosses in normal dungeons can be done.

I think it is you who knows nothing.

Do you really think people will be happy if stacking gets fixed? They will just find the next best thing to complain about and start new waves of complaining. For example how zerker deals too much damage, skipping is exploiting, Melee is too strong, etc.

Players here complain on how say the spider queen get’s “exploited” by pulling her around the corner.
She’s not and the same goes for most other dungeon mobs that get pulled into a stack of players. There are only very few examples out there where stacking around a corner actually is glitching/exploiting a boss, alphard for example (a very special corner). If you consider the usage of LOS as an exploit, you might aswell ban every decent PvP player.

Do you mindlessly run into the ascalonian groups at fotm level 50? Or do you try to get them together by, lets say staying behind a corner and waiting for the ranged mobs (monks etc) closer together so you can actually use CC effectively?
But tbh, running in like a headless chicken would probably also work quite well if you just stack enough defense and heal in your party. The runs would take forever, but there aren’t really that many encounters that force you to deal a minimum amount of damage in order to beat them.

I have had to hear a lot of kittenty stacking complaints, along others like simin beeing unbeatable or TA f/u completely broken. The “resolves” to these “issues” never failed to amaze me in how bad they were.

Easy “fix” for spider: Let her use her AoE even when every player is within melee range. Oh and also let her drop some extra poison fields, just for good measure, and let the gargoyle head respawn after a minute or two. And since we can’t have nice things, also make her web spray instant.

Did I said anything about LOS being an exploit? NO, I’ll repeat, NO!
I’ll repeat over 9000: The exploit is when you use the kitten Fiery Rush, Fiery Whirl,
Whirlwind Attack, Charge (Norn’s Racial), Charge (Flesh Golem’s skill) and block it in the corner. This is obvious exploit!
Also the inability of bosses to use their skills when players stack on them is a bad encounter design and should be changed to make this game more action oriented.

Because I need the gold. I couldn’t care less about the dungeons that I do at the moment – i’ve done them so many times I can draw them from memory complete with encounters and dialogue.
I want to go in -get the gold – get out asap. And I’m not the only one.

Do you realise, that all the materials on trading post, legendary weapons and everything that you can buy is more expensive because you can earn gold faster?
If everyone was doing it slower (for example 1 run per 30 minutes instead of 1 run per 10 minutes), there would be 1/3 of the current gold in the game and prices would be 3 times lower.

You said, that you want to get gold asap and get out of the dungeon, but is it that you want to get gold just to have high numbers in your wallet? or you want to actually buy something? The amount of time to get something is more or less constant. You can do dungeons faster, but when other players can also do it faster, the gold looses its value.

One more thing, what is the other source of gold in the game? Selling stuff to NPC? I bet that is not the source of major part of the gold in the game. Dungeons daily reward! (No, selling stuff, like exotics or sigils, on trading post is not the source of the gold, because you don’t produce more gold into the game but just move the gold from one player to another).

Why I've changed my mind on Ascended

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: yayuuu.9420

I like it the way it is now. Ascended gear could give a bit more stats than it is now, or there could be a bit better infusions (like 10 power instead of 5 power / 5 agony if we choose it), but overall the idea is great. Thanks to this gear I have a reason to play and once I finish one set, I can start crafting another with different stats. My goal is to make at least 3 sets fully infused with 5/5. Even if they nerf some stats and I’ll have to start making a new set from scratch, it’s OK, because I’ll keep the old set anyway and maybe someday it will be still the best set.

Stacking is staying close to each other. It has nothing to do with exploits. If a group exploits while stacking thats not stackings fault. I assume you will give the example that spider queen stacking is exploiting. But weve all grown tired of how many times weve told people that spider queen works completely as intended when pulled to the corner and she can still wipe a group pretty easily in such a situation. There is no “exploit” being used there other than forcing the group to stay melee.

You can have both moving and corner stacks. Neither is an exploit.

Ok, I agree, don’t fix stacking. Just fix skills that are exploited so there will be no reason to stacking. kthxbye.

Crit Damage Nerf may be a Buff?

in Profession Balance

I think that it won’t be damage nerf, but it will make defensive stats more viable, because if critical damage will give you less than “power / precision / toughness” for example or the new “power / precision / healing power” might be really cool additions. You won’t loose that much damage and gain more sustain.

I just hope that devs will not ruin Celestial, because if they just crit damage to the same amount as other stats, it will be the set that will loose the most (and it’s not the strongest set atm). If they buff other stats in the Celestial set, then it looks like a really cool update for me.

We could argue that this should not be the default way as opposed to actually exploring a dungeon. But that only works the first few times and then prople will try and speed it up because once the novelty of exploration has worn off most people will do it for the rewards.
And I would hazard a guess that the majority of the playerbase has moved to the second stage so they will try to save time. Which will make stacking/skipping to a certain degree the default. Simply defined by the majority of the players.
I’ll admit this is also an assumption. And feel free to point this out to me as I have done with yours.

I did COE p3 run without stacking and only me and one guardian survived subject alpha. I was in party with players, who did this dungeon many times already, but with stacking. If you were right, they would be experienced enought to survive without stacking. After that I have asked them and they have never done it without stacking (the guardian too).

I would hazard a guess, that majority of the playerbase have never done dungeons without stacking and that they just mindlessly repeat what other players have showed them. Most of them doesn’t even know about the true reasons why everyone is doing it in the corners and not in the middle of the room (FGS Fiery Rush exploit and some more).

is "Stacking" the new "Tanking"?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: yayuuu.9420

fun is in the eye of the beholder, different people find different things fun.

As for the video, i see stack and boon spam, not cleric, carrying the day. No diff between that and the zerker meta, except the zerker meta finishes much faster thanks to the amount of DPS the synergy between the 3 stats produce.

Call me when the cleric build is face tanking during a mixed pug, and then we can talk about it being op or not.

For that video, I was camping at staff water and spamming earth aura the whole time. If I hadn’t wear cleric, there would have been no amount of regeneration and healing that could keep HP of the whole team always higher than 95%. Since the damage from cleric gear is kittenest anyways, the only thing that carried the day is face tanking while spamming retaliation and wait for the boss to die from retaliation. If facetanking the Molten Boss Duo in clerics isn’t OP then I don’t know what is. It takes mountain of skills for a group of Zerkers to do the same and get results.

By the ways, for the sake of trolling, my friends and I also did some pug runs with one of us running full cleric healing guardian, another spirit-wepon zerker guards and a glassy ele who would not drop neither ice bow or FGS. We did HotW 1, SE 1+3 and AC3 and pug 2 slots. Guess what? We breezed through the content just by stacking and letting the healing guard do his job. It is sickening easy that one of the pug begged to stay for another path and it amazed him that how no groups have ever done this way. Answer: Boring. And not every pugs understand the meaning of stacking.

My point is stacking does not mean you can face tank anything. It does not trivialize a boss encounter. You can stack at melee range (Lupicus, Molten Duo), at max melee range (Mossman and Arch Diviner) or at 900 to 1200 range (Lupicus phase 1, pug style). You still have to dodge a certain attack (Lupi’s Grub, Mossman’s Gouge, Arch Diviner’s Nova), to immobilize and kite the target, cleanse an unwanted condition (Weakness, against Spider Queen). And then, you get the benefits from shared boons, reflections, and group condi cleanse.

Stacking close to each other is not a problem, when you do it in the middle of boss room. As you said, shared boons, cleanses – so it is how it shoul be played. The problem is when you do it in some corner to:
1. Force boss to not use some of his attacks (eg. poison AOE at spider queen).
2. Exploit some broken mechanics to boost damage of some skills 20 times (eg. Fiery Rush)

Personally, I’m playing support elementalist, with mostly offensive gear (celestial weapon and armor, berserker accessories, boon duration runes). It works really well in fractals (I’m trying to stand between my grup members to boon them as much as possible). Basically I’m doing the same thing as if I was stacking, but still we are moving, dodging. I’d like to play dungeons the same way as I do play fractals (just easier), but people are skipping everything (doing some weird jumping puzzles, I’ve left the party in TA forward last time when my party started to jump to some flower, enraged that noone told me that they are going to exploit) and exploiting corners whenever they can. IT SUX!

It is really interesting topic. Almost all of the games I ever played are like this. You leave the main city, kill a lvl 2 rat, then you go to a lvl 50 zone and you see lvl 50 rat.

I’ve seen only one game that changed this concept. It was Dark & Light (the game is dead already, it had the biggest world ever, but not so many players).
In D&L, you went out of the city, killed lvl 2 rats, then lvl 5 wolves etc, then you leveled up and went a bit further and noticed a camp with ogres, who were lvl 40 surrounded by lvl 5 wolves and lvl 2 rats. I really liked the idea, it was much more realistic. Also there was one more thing, that I really liked: respawning monsters animations. Imagine a desert filled with spiders. You kill all of them and waiting for a respawn. Then you see some grup making a hole in the ground and trying to go outside. After that, a spider is running very fast to that grub from somewhere out of your screen, catches the grub and eats it. After that you see a spider standing in this place, so you can kill it again.
All of the creatures got these fancy respawning animations, skeletons rising from the ground, dodo birds falling from the sky, spiders eating grubs etc, not just popping from nowhere like in 99% of the games. It was really cool I can say.

As a reminder, I’ll tell you my point again, because maybe you understand me wrong. I’m not saying that this encounter is too easy, but that bringing spider to the corner makes it too easy. If everyone stay on the spider queen, she’s not using her poison AOE attack and without that attack you can really tank and spank it. My point is that advantages of stack-in-the-corner tactics should be removed to force players to active play.

Understandable, but what are the benefits of this exactly?

This is a common theme in most anti-stack posts; you don’t find it fun or challenging, and it detracts from your gameplay experience, presumably because most people you group with prefer this approach. Anti-stack players are then forced to find other like-minded individuals to group with, which I imagine takes some time and further adds to your frustration.

However, your suggestion would make the game less fun and more frustrating for a large portion of other players as well. We’ve been enjoying a level of speed and efficiency for too long to have it taken from us. ‘Active play’ won’t make dungeons any more fun for us because we’ve fought the encounters over and over ad nauseam.

I understand your point of view although I disagree, but despite the superior ethical position you may think you’ve taken, your request is still a selfish one.

Ok, now I feel like this (attachment). Time to give up.

For the sake of completeness and as I saw only a few elements of the list, stacking allows the following:
- boon sharing
- combos
- higher damages due to melee weapons
- easier and faster revivals
- avoid hard ranged attacks of some bosses

Especially stacking in the corner allows also this:

Dear Arena Net, please do something with this lame tactics. Change active gameplay to be more rewarding than passive-stand-in-a-corner.

Add:
- Interrupt to all rush skills when you hit the wall
- Bosses melee cleave
- Allow bosses to use their ranged attacks on a close targets
- Increase radius of boons slightly

Stacking for some reason also suppresses some boss abilities in PvE, making them a lot easier.

Which ones?

Spider Queen’s poison attack in AC, graveling’s jumping out of the ground, icebrood wolves leap, wurms underground traveling and probably many more

Ok, let me explain one more thing. What kind of damage reduction I got from my not 100% toughness set? I think that I’ve seen some calculations, and max is around -50% (not sure) if you go full toughness. This video showed, that with around 30-40% damage reduction even without healing this boss would give me a lot of time (maybe around 10 attacks).

Normally I’m playing with mostly berserker set and high protection uptime (you can achieve it as an elemetalist either using auras or earth attunement), so damage reduction with full zerker and protection is the same as with the gear I used killing her solo. Also it is possible to kill him with zerker in few seconds and you can resurrect downed players really fast.

I just did it few times in zerker, rarely using my healing skill (if the party was strong enought I could just 12345 it in the corner) and I never had to dodge.

Also, I bet that it would be possible to AFK kill it with 5 Axe warriors autoattacking it, with mabe some heal on crit sigils. Unfortunately, I can’t record video, because I don’t have other lvl 80 characters.

As a reminder, I’ll tell you my point again, because maybe you understand me wrong. I’m not saying that this encounter is too easy, but that bringing spider to the corner makes it too easy. There is a lot of videos of zerker elementalists soloing stuff, usually with conjure weapons, but not with just 11111. Anyway, it is possible to do it with 4 other zerkers as long as you dodge stuff but that’s not the point. The point is, that if you bring 5 zerkers and 5 fiery greatswords, stack in the corner – you can kill pretty much everything before they can do any harm to your party and this should be changed by interrupting dash-skill when you hit the wall.

Except it’s not the elites who never pug who are claiming it’s faceroll, it’s people who pug all the time who are claiming it’s just 111111111 despite that being completely untrue. I know from running with the guild I’m in that our runs are only so faceroll because we’re experienced, optimised and are speaking over voice comms so we can call out things quick should something go wrong.

I have just 11111’d spider queen, uploading video atm.
Ofc it’s not in berserker, because it’s not possible to SOLO 1111 it in ZERKER!
But, it is possible to 12345 him with berserker in full party in the corner.

Edit: kitten it, video too long ;D
I have to speed it up a bit, so it will take a while, be patient please

I can assure you, that I PUG on my warrior and I whenever I see eles they’re always incapable of might stacking and are more likely to drop an ice bow than an FGS.

It would be great if you could record a boss kill while everyone presses 12345 too, I see a lot of people claim this but never provide evidence. Examples are the three champion golems in SE p1, LoS them to a corner and dont use utilities, just 12345 and record. Then there’s rumblus (LoS, not that weird afk range spot people like to use) or ghost eater. Even better, record yourself 12345’ing against Alphard in Arah p2 when you’ve LoS’d her.

When people make these bold claims I just want to see video evidence of it, because my experience is that when I run in premades, we co-ordinate our skills and make careful use of utilities enabling us to blitz through content, while pugs just mash keys (exhibit #1 – the whirling axe warrior) and either wipe or kill things a lot slower because they lack the self control or even knowledge of how to play efficiently.

You are mentioning “these” bosses, while I can record how I do 12345 with other bosses in the corner.
AC Spider – 12345 in the corner
CM last boss p3 – 12345 between the barrels
SE p3 last boss – 12345 in the corner behind the pillar
COF p1 first boss – push him to the wall and 12345

I could give you more examples, but I’m not playing dungeons so much, because of this. I’m usually doing fractals, but unfortunately players are starting to bring their lame gamestyle to them (aetherblade retreat fractal is a good example, especially the place where you can stay in the corner and not get any damage from the cannons).

@hendo: ofc, PUGs are not bursting bosses like this, because not everyone knows about it, but still, 1-2 players in PUG are using it and they want everyone to be stacked in the corner, because stacking in one place is more rewarding than punishing. It’s easier to kill most of the bosses while stacked in the corner and just pressing 12345. This kind of passive playstyle should punish players. Otherwise there’s no point to run, dodge, just stand in one place and 12345.

Missed those earlier, just went to have a look. Holy kitten that was awesome!

Its also a far, far cry from the typical dungeon run. 1500+ hours of game time and I have never seen anyone do anything quite like that. But then, I’d also not call that cheating so much as a ‘display of skill’, and I don’t think that anything a player is able to do using only their skills while playing the game (no add-ons or code manipulation) can be considered unfair. If the devs don’t like it, they’ll patch it (which has been the case with a lot of content).

Weird how that video upsets you, and I just wanna try it for myself, lol.

Ofc, you don’t need any external programs to do it, but calling it “display of skill” is not correct for sure, as it requires way less skill than killing boss without it. All you need in party is 2-3 elementalists and full zerker party. What’s the point of defense if you can kill boss in few seconds?

Elementalists were always the strongest class against big enemies, but since you can push the corner, it hits small enemies as hard as big enemies, with the difference, that big enemies are usually designed to take much more damage because of their large HP pool.

If it’s not an exploit, but the game is designed like this, then
what’s the point of other classes?
what’s the point of other armor sets (not zerkers)?
what’s the point of enemies being big or small?

Imo this have to be fixed asap or it will kill the game.
