Thx 4 the link. I had the same issue (1070 here, Samsung memory version), updating the bios fixed it for me.

What brand of the card do you use? Where did you get bios update for version with samsung memory?

I have a MSI Armor GTX 1070 (samsung memory) and there is a bios update available on MSI site, but the update is not for my version of the card (different serial number), so I guess it’s only for Micron memory version.

Cooldowns on overloads feels a bit too long. Overall overloads are better now, just the cooldowns..

Stability while overloading is a good addition, but I’m not sure if 1 stack is enought.

Feel The Burn should apply more burning or longer burning. It’s clearly offensive shout, but even Cleansing Flame applies more burning and removes conditions. I know that it has longer recharge, but it’s because it’s way superior to feel the burn.

Shock and Aftershock has too long cooldown. Comparing it to other reflect abilities, it’s just too weak.

Warhorn:
Wildfire – Too long cooldown for the only fire field with this set and it doesn’t work with Persisting Flames. Since it’s fire field it should work with this trait, otherwise it feels inconsistent.

Water Globe – It should be centered around your character.

Rebound: Personally previous version was more useful for me, but this one adds more variety. I might use this one too sometimes, so yea, whatever.

I kinda agree with removing cooldown trait from warhorn, as no other weapon got trait like this. Still I really liked cooldown of Wildfire with this trait.

On the other hand, every set of utility skills got its cooldown trait, except shouts. I think this one is missing, especially if you want to build a healing spec with heal on auras.

It’s intended and it’s the only boss in the whole game I really like, thanks to this. All you have to do is to place sparks on the spots QUICKLY, so basically 3 players have to know what to do, they have to execute this part correctly without any mistakes. If it’s done correctly, she won’t have enought time to regen to the point, where she can hide exactly in the same percent of HP. I can’t tell you exact numbers, but just for example:
You take her to 50% and she disappears, then you don’t place sparks before she regen to 70%, so when she appears, you can only take let’s say 20% of her HP at once and she disappears. If you put the sparks on place until she gets 55% of HP, then you can again take let’s say 20%, you can down her to 35% HP and she disappears. Then you can put the sparks before she gets to 40% and you can again DPS her to 20% before she hides.

It is possible to place sparks really fast if you have 3 players who are doing this. The rest of the party should then hug the wall to avoid aggroing sparks. One player takes 2 sparks that are close to the wall, another takes 2 sparks in the room’s entrance and last player takes one spark that appears between the wall and rock close to the entrance. We use 2 ranged players to take wall and entrance sparks, who can avoid being stoned easily by standing out of range, to make sure they can take these sparks as fast as possible. The rest stays melee close to the wall on the right and uses tears when one of them becomes stoned. One of the melee players takes the rock spark when the rest stays close to the wall. It is possible to execute this part in like 10 seconds. I did this path few times already, with different parties. So far the best result was killing her within 3 rounds, 100-50 + 55-25 + 30-0. I know that it can be done even faster, in 2 rounds if you have really strong DPS.

As I said, it’s not a bug but your lack of practice and maybe flawed tactics. Also it is best to do it with all players on some VoIP.

The thing is, that you don’t even need to destroy the root. All you need is to use a skill, that removes condition and just run out of it, or dodge out of it to be safe, that it won’t catch you again.

Destroying the root stops it from applying immobilize (condition) to you, but you are left with remaining duration of immobilize, until it wears out or you remove it.

My bet goes for Archemorus. As seen in the trailer, Rytlock was using a spear on land while also having a sword. I guess that he was able to use the spear because he summoned Archemorus.

You need a target to use Arcane Wave underwater and you cast it on the target with AOE radius around it. The way you did it – you have used it far away from the fire field.

Hey everyone! First off, thanks for following up on this issue and letting us know it’s still affecting your game experience. Unfortunately I’ve not been able to reproduce the issue internally, and it does not seem to be a problem which is affecting everyone equally across the entire game. In order to have a better chance of identifying the source of the problem, I need a little more information from those of you affected by the issue to begin our investigation:

  • What game client are you using? (Windows / Mac)

Windows

  • What are your current graphics settings?

Ultra, except player model limit (which is medium)

  • Are you playing in full screen or windowed mode?

Fullscreen, but it happens also on my laptop when I’m playing with borderless windowed and medium settings

  • Is your inventory full or maxed out?

It’s not full, but I have a lot of items there. I have 1/2 or even 1/3 of my inventory free.

  • Do you play with bags displayed or hidden?

My inventory size is 16×10 (I have all additional bags). I keep all inventory slots visible at once, I don’t like scrollbars. I’m using 1 standard basic 20 slot bag and 7 green fractal boxes. I have tried opening and closing inventory a lot of times without doing anything else and looks like the bug doesn’t happen here. I’m writing from the memory now, but from what I remember it usually happens like this:
- I open my inventory, do some stuff, close it
- I play a bit, run, do other stuff
- I open my inventory again, everything is still fine
- I close inventory and open it again and it shrinks, usually to 15×10
- Sometimes it becomes the smallest possible size (like 5×5 or close to that).

Another fact (I’m not sure if it’s connected) is that I’m using inventory a lot while doing other stuff (attacking, running etc).

It also looks like it happens more often if I move part of my inventory out of screen (for example I keep some items that I want to use during combat at the left edge of my inventory, so I can move the whole inventory but 1 column out of screen and be able to double-click items).

The bug exists on both of my PCs, one is:
- Intel Core i5 460M
- G-Force GTX 285M
- 6 GB DDR3
- WIndows 7 Ultimate x64
- HDD

Another one is:
- Intel Xeon E3 1230 v3
- G-Force GTX 780
- 8 GB DDR3
- Windows 7 Ultimate x64
- SSD

What GW2 really could use, is variety designs for mobs, not just mobs that melts in 1-3 seconds under berserker DPS build groups.

99% of content are not supposed to melt in 1-3 seconds under 1 build, never.

Of course, you should be able to complete dungeons with any build, but atleast it’d be nice if using any build has potential to create results to match equally every other build in 100% of PvE content, and not limit 99% of the mobs for full berserker DPS builds, and give other builds just 1%.

It comes from bad mob design, for instance will you ever see a hammer warrior in a dungeon, no, bcz dps sucks and mobs are stupid enough to come stack right into your dps.

Look at the new beetle mob design (dry top), it forces you to either stand in front or cc it to flip so that your team can dps.
Soloing those mobs (specially an elite can cost a zerker’s life since to attack, you have to withstand an attack too).
You will have to be smart and take out your hammer, swap to something else to dps. Hopefully they do something interesting with (hopefully) future dungeons, game needs new stuff and not reworked old stuff.

THis post is so true. I said it easlier in a topic about trinity. The current system can be fixed, we just need dungeons that are designed for the current system, not to redesing the system. Mobs like these beetles or challenges like running with hammer in Cliffside Fractal or finally champions that were added during marionette event (these on platforms). These are things that we need to see more of them in dungeons! I think that Anet is experimenting now and that we can expect something really cool soon (I hope)!

I kinda got used to it, but I still have to agree with you. I wouldn’t say that it’s the problem if the lack of trinity. Actually GW2 experiment is kinda succesfull and Fractals proved it. It’s just the dungeons that are designed FOR trinity and forced to play without it.

For me the biggest issue with the camera is that:

If I set my camera “naturally” to see my character from behind and over his back, then I use any skill “in air” without target, the projectiles are flying to the ground (center of my screen) instead of flying pararell to the ground. It would be an awesome improvement, especially for those who are playing without autotargeting and wasting skills on the ground when one enemy dies. I know that there would be a problem with projectiles that flies in a parabola, but you could just calculate the range of the skill to fall on the ground exactly at the end of its range.

Auto Target

I’m using autotargeting and it’s fine for me. It all depends on the camera rotation, targets in the middle if your screen will have higher priority. It doesn’t choose the closest target, it’s just like you had a crosshair in the middle of your screen and everything that’s under the crosshair will be your target (or the closest target to the middle of the screen). If you learn it, it’s really predictible.

Some suggestions:
- There is an action in settings that you can bind some key to, called “Lock Autotarget”. Hold it to keep selected target, release to untarget.
- Target enemy with the highest priority (like champion etc) with CTRL + T. Press Lock Autotarget once to return to free-target mode, when the target is not locked so you can target everything around. Press T to lock your target on the selected enemy.

The price is OK for me to pay for a few episodes that we missed, but it’s completly not fair for a new player. If someone buy the game a year later, he will have to pay for the game and for the episodes and that is a ridiculous price for a game.

My suggestion: When the season 2 ends, release a season 2 pack in the gem store, that unlocks all of the episodes for much lower price (like 2000 gems for the whole season).

Jade Maw can be killed with lifesteal.

The same way as Liadri before, jade maw can be killed by Lifesteal’s damage. A thief with shadow refuge and unload or a necro with wells and frostbow can take him down in few seconds. You don’t even have to throw crystals on him.

I’ve just discovered another use of sylvari skills.

Thoumanova Reactor Fractal – Ooze boss.
The ooze eats the asura at the beginning of the enouncter and then he uses a lot of skills. Before he eats asura, he can’t use any skills excapt summoning small oozes that heals him. As an elementalist, I stand on the asura and when the ooze spawns, I use Gust to push him back and:
Summon Druid Spirit – Immobilize every few seconds
Signet of Earth
Grasping Vines
Shockwave

With these skills I can keep Immobilize on him for really long time. With some help of party members it is possible to nuke him before he can reach the asura.

2 days – it’s the average time for me to finish meta achivements for any living world update.

I like updates every 2 weeks more than updates every month the same way as I’d like updates every day more than updates every 2 days or updates every 15 minutes more than updates every 30 minutes. Ofcourse it’s not gonna happend and I believe that devs will do their best to give us high quality content within the shortest possible intervals.

Scepter skills on warrior:
(concept one, warrior can concentrate his force to manifest spectral weapons to hit enemies at distance)
1. Spectral Slash – summon spectral greatsword to slash your target. (not a typical summon, something like necromancer with axe)
2. Vortex of Blades – Surround you with vortex of blades for 5 seconds, damaging all surrounding enemies.
-> 2. Throw blade – Throw one of the blades to damage and cripple your target. Combo finisher – physical projectile
3. Enrage – Channel for 3 seconds, granting Might and Fury to nearby allies (12 stacks of Might and Fury for 10s)

4. Concentrated Force – Deal damage to all enemies around you, pulling them to you and crippling. Deals more damage the more stacks of Might you have. Removes all of your Might stacks. Combo finisher blast.
5. Iron Will – grants Protection and Stability to nearby allies for 5 seconds.

Wish that title was tied to the 8 orb achievement, and the mini pet was just for a regular Liadri kill. Make that title a little more prestigious, and give incentive to do the hardest Guantlet achievement.

Hopefully next year For now I’m not even trying, it’s too frustrating to do without any reward ^^

I agree with you OP. I’ve been playing this game for a month after release and took a break for a long time (logging in occasionally for a week). I have lost a lot of living world items, that I wanted to have when I returned to GW2 for good. Even that I lost it, I would like to never be able to get them again but to make sure, that any future item that I’ll get will have its prestige. Unfortunately these items are cheap crap now :/

Don’t forget that you get gold for running dungeons. You have 2 possibilities to get materials for ascended now jsut from running dungeons:
- salvage loot
- buy mats for gold
On top of that you want to give ascended items for tokens, so someone doing dungeons (the best source of gold atm) will get bonus ascended items from time to time.

Personally I don’t want ascended to loose its value. They are not that hard to get for someone who is doing a lot of dungeons daily. Also giving additional ascended items for X dungeons would be an overkill for fractals, which can drop ascended boxes in exchange of providing less gold per time unit. Imo fractals should be the real endgame, together with worldbosses, guild missions and living world.

You are wrong. GW2 is very “do whatever you want” with the current ascended crafting system. Look at the stuff you need to craft ascended:
- dragonite ore – you get if from either guild missions, world bosses, some living story events, WvW
- emphyreal fragments – you get it from jumping puzzles, all dungeons, fractals, all open world chests including these after completing minidungeons, guild missions
- bloodstone dust – champion bags
- augur’s stone – you buy it for skillpoints and basically you get skillpoints from everywhere, even by just leveling.
- normal materials – again, you get it for salvaging everything, for collecting nodes, even in PVP you get a lot of crap that you can salvage
- obsidian shards – for karma or fractal relics, basically you get karma for everything you do in the game, because everything is an event.

Basically every piece that you need to craft ascended armor will land in your hands later or sooner, doesn’t matter what you do in the game as long as you don’t only chat in LA. You can still do for example only dungeons and guild missions and eventually get enought resources to make ascended stuff. But wait, you want ascended to cost only 1000 tokens? That’s not gonna happen, it would be too easy to get (only 3 times more than exotic weapon or chest?). Value of exotic items is around 1.5g while value of materials needed for, let’s say ascended light chest is 75g just for the damasks. It would have to cost 15000 tokens, not 1000 (but then it would be the same as it is now, just play the game and you will get it)

I play with warrior. If you killed her that doesn’t mean all players will be. We are very casual, not hardcore. And she needs nerf.

It’s not a casual achivement, deal with it. If you can’t do it – don’t do it.

It’s not like in most of the games that tank can stand still and be healed, but he can take some hits and hold mobs in place for long enought to nuke them by the rest of your team. For most of the mobs / bosses it’s enought to just stay melee and have enought armor to become their only target for the whole fight. I’m not sure if this approach is faster or not, but it is for sure easier.

NOOOOOOO don’t spread LIES. We already have enough tanky people that think that they bring something to the group even if they don’t. Don’t give them another reason to hold back groups. Surviability is for you little kitten only and bring nothing to the group except if in full DPS you die each 2sec. Having enough survivability to match you level of skill is the only reason to use defensive stats or healing in PvE.

What is a lie? Wiki article? The stuff that I said is basically the confirmation of wiki article and from my experience having a lot of toughness keeps most of the mobs on you. It’s not like tanking is neccessary in PVE, you can do everything just fine without it. I have tried it once and went to lvl 9 fractal on my elementalist with 3.5k armor and build based around magnetic shield (couldn’t try it at higher level because I don’t have agony in the set that I bought just to do this test) and somehow it worked.

uhmm, i think PvE players have a say about this far more then the pro-duelers, there are plenty of places to fit duels so there is no need to add PvP in the only single place for PvE players.

I’m a PVE player and I say YES to duels in open world.

I heard that you have to kill dredge first and then charr. If you kill dredge first, charr will start using another type of shockwaves (with golden color), that will oneshot you if you don’t dodge them. I’m not sure if this will give you achivement, because we killed them in this order only once, but I haven’t even expected what will happen, so I didn’t dodged them ;D Anyway, that’s the rumor I heard about this achivement.

Also, on this topic, a whole back the developers said that they aim to make every weapon usable on every class, we’ve still yet to see 1 weapon restriction removed since launch, how’s this going?

Well, that would be nice. I’d like to see a warrior with staff, fighting like some kind of a monk. Also elementalist with bow, shooting magic arrows, or a staff or scepter ranger (druid). That would be really awesome!

Seriously, what’s wrong in skins in the gemstore? You don’t need them to play the game.
The problem with the gemstore exists, but it’s not the skins, but stuff that gives you stats. You can pay real money and buy stuff like infusions that gives you 5 power and 5 agony, legendary weapon, which is top tier weapon. Normally you need these bloodstones, emphyreal stars and dragonites to craft weapon with the same stats (ascended), which is not hard to get and most of us probably have full banks of them, but still you had to at least play a bit to get it. Also there should be better infusions obtainable only for playing (maybe as a drop from some new dungeons) or just include vision crystals in the current infusion recipes.

I’m for selling skins in the gemstore, but I’m against selling power in the gemstore. I want to buy the stuff I like, not the stuff I’m forced to buy to have my character maxed. While current status of GW2 doesn’t force me to buy infusions, because their benefits are low, it’s still a step in the wrong direction.

Tbh I really like shoutheal + empower allies + banner of discipline + banner of strength + for great justice warriors in my party. Also shoutheal works nice if there are 2 warriors and each one takes one banner and shouts.
I also like Spotter + frost spirit rangers, well necros, guardians with Battle Presence and Strength in Numbers, elementalists that keep Soothing Mist active. The game becomes so faceroll, that doing lvl 50 fractal for example doesn’t make me tired.

No. Selling paths should not be bannable.

About the names, I never get kicked, but I always screen shot the account names of every. Single. Pug. Even if it’s just a cof run.

Next, ALWAYS. ALWAYS. Open the dungeon yourself. Always.

I learned to open fractals by myself when people who opened them left the party few times.

Anyway, I’m usually doing fractals with a guild. Sometimes we take 1 or 2 random players, but for sure, I would leave the party too if my guild decided to kick that random guy from the last fractal for some reason and talk to my leader about kicking these guys from the guild. That’s really horrible! Also I remember a warrior camping rifle with 0 agony resistance doing lvl 29 with us and still noone kicked him ;D

Anyway, current party system is too easy to abuse. I know that GW2 is trying to do everything different than other games, but sometimes differend doesn’t mean better. A party system with physical leader and instances assigned to the party, not the player that 99% of the games uses is actually better. I know that it doesn’t solve this problem, but it solve many other problems.

Do you know what does it mean? For example, if you have 30% hp and take damage reducing your HP to 10%, it won’t activate until you take damage while you are below 20%. When you are left with 10% and take damage equal to 5% of your HP it will activate leaving you with 5% HP.

The optimal situation for you using these runes is taking some damage that reduce your HP to 19% and then taking really low hit (maybe mesmer’s illusion hitting you for 1 damage) so the effect can activate.

Remember, you have to take damage while you are already under 20%, not to take damage that reduces your HP to below 20%.

I’ve been leveling my ele with frostbow, but in the end I found out that I can do much more using staff and supporting it with frostbow.

I’ve been using similar idea to the one posted before, camping on the water for 20% damage and taking every possible damage bonus, like arcane lightning, bolt to the heart, etc.

The biggest problem is that you don’t have any reasonable access to fury if you want to camp with the frostbow and that is a huge waste of DPS. Even if your party can stack fury for you, you can still do much more using ice storm and meteor shower for example.
…but yea, if you want to just level up your character and play for fun, it works like this.

In the end I decided that playing with all elements is much more interesting, so I’m using:
Ice Spike
Shockwave
Eruption
Lava font (combo with eruption = 3 stacks of might)
Arcane Wave / Arcane Briliance (combo for another 3 stacks)
Flame Burst
Meteor Shower
Lightning Surge
Ice Spike
Frostbow
Frost Fan
Ice Storm
Throw frostbow
repeat

It also gives you much better control, you can use Frozen Ground, Static Field, Unsteady Ground. Chain them correctly and you can stop group of enemies in place and nuke them from the safe distance.
