When I first heard of this I thought ‘Has Blizzard taken over the game?’, couldn’t believe it.
Don’t upgrade to this new pick and you’ll be worse off.
So, what’s next?…monthly fees?
so how much ranting is needed to get a response from Anet about this P2W kitten?
. . . where’s the “win” getting paid for? Aren’t sprockets tradeable?
It’s really not about p2w at all. Even the fact that this pick can produce sprockets is a least problem here. The real trouble comes from the fact that it is undeniably superior to the molten and bone pick. That means, i just can’t be certain buying anything from the shop, that tomorrow an new, Improved version will not show up making that one i bought obsolete.
It is, as someone already mentioned, something akin to a gear treadmill, only with shop items.
Correct.
I had no idea about this sprocket chance/thing as the item description is exactly the same as the Molten one.
The very 1st time these picks went on sale they were meant to be ‘one time only purchases’. Which was false as now they’re on TP almost every few weeks.
A game that has yet to be let of it’s leash.
Interesting…in theme at least. If it (could be) applied to every foe in the game. Idea being that the rarest/most common would always be changing, in type and location.
Champs/vets could be ‘anomalies’ or separate.
’I’ll be making a guide on how to do it for others as well. I’ve gotten this type of response from multiple people that I know, so apparently it’s not common knowledge how to salvage for profit +MF.’
I’d like to see that when it’s done. If only for new ideas. Bit difficult to be definitive though as the essences are quite random per blue/green.
I avoid the Orr areas for that skill, even those nodes can’t tempt me to go there. It’s on a par with the area’s aesthetics, horrible.
I use these to get essences. You can get them with karma.
25AP ??!! this game is the Fagin of MMO’s.
Doesn’t the game have enough skins already (?).
I only got the pick, better than nothing however. Those who got the full set will be rightly pleased.
The game has things to do. It’s just that what is there to do , is not really what you ‘want’ to do.

I spent nothing on/for my precursor. It just dropped off a level 6 mob. =)
I’ve never even tried the Mystic Forge for a weapon. I only use it for the Daily Achievement, because it’s easy and I have so many runes and sigils from salvaging.
That would be a make great screenshot.
How are the 300% guys gettin’ on? Not seen much info’ on ‘luck with’ drops and rate etc.
I’d hate to see what OP would say if he played WvW where you’d have to worry about an invisible attack from a thief dealing 8K+ in damage every few seconds.
Silly PVErs….
1 took my necro down in less than 2 seconds. I was mapping around, minding my own business. All of a sudden, out of nowhere. Splat! 16k and the rest of it. I was only in greens so I must been a sittin’ duck.
No rules. No morals. Dirty tricks. Give wvw a competitive edge that PvE just doesn’t have.
It’s the player’s themselves who create/d these ‘trains’. Not entirely fair to blame the game for it.
Both Trolls don’t have a 10,000 radius skill that pulls players towards them. Neither do I blame ppl for doing them.
I’d like to see some legendary content.
I got the mask and no bags.
Should be renamed The Forgotten City. Only players I see there are gatherers.
A pity, in what should be one of the most popular areas in the game.
‘Now you’ve done it…’
(If it lessens wvw queues, go for it!)
Can you link those 2 accounts?
I have GW1 and 2 linked could I link another GW2 account to it?
My only problem with champ train is that it runs 24/7 and they are huge, basically filling the map and more often than not putting me in OF when i just want to kill jormag or SB. The only time i’m able to get into maps like Frostgorge Sound or Queensdale is when America is asleep lol. Although i swear, some of these folks never sleep.
Uncle Sam sleeps?
You have an equal chance of a ‘pre’ using 4 rares as you do 400 or 4,000.
You do not understand math. Yes, you do have equal chance per a single attempt. You do not have an equal total chance – it is affected by a number of tries.
If it’s number of tries then how is it the OP says 2 ppl got 1 after 10-20 rares , yet some have put 100’s in and failed to get one.
Unless the MF ‘remembers’ how many times you’ve used it ?!
There are quite some arguments for Frostgorge
- The zone is flat and easy to navigate
- Level 80 champs so best lootchance
- The champs do NOT SCALE !! because they are not part of Events, and so they are killed very much faster.
But you need to be very quick to get kill credit, or maybe I need more speed buffs as without those forget the frost’ train.
Good for levelling and xp. Wouldn’t do Queensdale runs on my max lvl guys though, as white bags are virtually worthless, give or take.
Frostgorge is different.
You have an equal chance of a ‘pre’ using 4 rares as you do 400 or 4,000.
As they’re hexagon shaped-straight lines.
Roman numerals (majority of them)-straight lines.
If they were circle shaped, numbers would be more appropriate.
The thing I found about leveling alts in this game is that how boring/fun it is is down to what you do on your main. If you are like me and dabble in dungeons, wvwvw, crafting, personal story, world bosses, champ trains, 100% completion hunts, etc and you don’t mind a slower pace then leveling alts is enjoyable. If you are leveling a new main and only really enjoy certain parts of the game, you’re going to have a not so enjoyable time leveling alts.
The only thing I would like really is if the waypoint system was account bound. There are some times where I want to go to a particular area with an alt, or more precisely get to a dungeon and realise I have to walk entire maps. Just a little niggle really but it would be nice if it were so.
Acc’ bound WP’s would be awesome, even if it was (only) to the actual level that your character was at.
The casting skills animations got fixed recently, now they’re ok.
Flying was cool. For a time. Then it became tedious. Flight points let us see the scenery as we traveled. That’s what GW2’s vistas are for. And you can still run whereever you want to go. You don’t have to WP. But I enjoy playing the game, and WPs allow me to go wherever I want when I want to play with whomever I want. Convenience, in this case, furthers the gameplay. After the initial oooh-aaah of flying wore off, throughout my WoW playing days, I missed the GW map traveling.
Also, you can’t use WPs until you’ve discovered them, so you will need to run to those areas and take in the scenery on your way.
At least you could avoid combat with former. Or you had the choice of it.
I was standing next to an ancient wood the other day, as players came to it I noticed that female toons give a tired sounding sigh as they ‘chopped’ it.
Saving my birthday boosters, that would be 400%+, long way off though but I’ll do it eventually.
Gathering, mainly, which actually is ‘farming’ to speak.
Custom arenas or WvW for dueling
The latter isn’t that good when you’re in queues for over an hour, and when you do get in half the time is spent running around in circles. More tedious than the waiting time itself.
The pain of paying the full price 48 hrs earlier, 1000 gems down the tubes.
Been my main since release, levelled a warr’, thief and ele’, but my necro has been more fun than all of them by a country mile.
My perfect game would be GW2 with flying mounts/skills so I can fly past karka and risen and say ‘ta ta’ a la Scarlet.
I use a B’day bosoter to get to mine up to 180%, thought its mainly for the xp I’ve noticed barely any change of loot quality. Sixteen hours left and 1 rare and 2 unid dyes.
Although I’ve barely set foot out of Queensdale which may be a reason.
Not quire so, if you’re on vent whilst doing it talkin’ about last night’s football or the day’s events, consciously you’re doing two things at the same time.
One of them takes the boredom out of the other, if you see my point.
On Anvil Rock. When trying to get the ori’ node near earthshake wp’, me and others were being constantly feared.
Jormag was inactive and combat log showed nothing.
Sold several times about 12 hours ago , my TP amount has stayed the same as it was beforehand. Tested again with low level item and no change.
If some are thinking of selling a high level to buy offers I hope they see this reply.
I sold a several items a bout 12 hours ago and my amount in TP has stayed the same. Tested again with a low value sigil , sold but 17 bronze not added.
Could have been someone’s Legendary weapon.
I can’t believe people actually enjoy these things, i have full exotics on 11 characters i own but i still wouldn’t go to zerg the new teq in some mindless i must beat it in 15 mins to get my leet wings (yet another pair to sit in my bank) or a chance at some useless Ascended i don’t need..
Obviously a lot do enjoy mindless gear checked zerg content but i am not one of them thank god…
I’m sure those that got the Tequatl Minature ‘enjoyed it’.
I was in Southsun earlier today, I was trying to do the Varrv event on my own. The start went ok, until a veteran karka and its mates (hatchlings or whatever they were) cut me and poor Varrv to ribbons.
If that’s meant to be soloable I’d sure like to see a video. I thought to myself ‘why bother?’
I’ll be saying this when I get my necro’ to 80 so I can go to Orr and give Risen their conditions back with interest. See how THEY like it!
Having used a Lvl 20 buff to start a necro it sure is nice to dish out these nasty conditions instead of being on the receiving end of them! A nice change and good fun too.
5×500 luck boosters. Easy to miss though as there is no notification of (enclosed)mail items as long as the mail is read. Hence if you don’t take items straightaway, it’s easy to forget about them.
I noticed today that I had a mini-pack in one of them, had no idea it was there! As it was from a few weeks ago.
well is called tp play coz you can loose, well game over!!!
and is a good way to remove a stokpile of gold out of flippers pockets wich is never bad imho.
i really hope they make flipping so risky that will be unprofitable, like let’s say limit number of transaction per day or per week, or double the fee, or whatever.
the t6 dust move was awsome too.
if this wasn’t intentional was the best error they made.
Flipper are the equivalent of market sharks and speculators irl, which caused the econom crash we’re experiencing.
thanks but i wan’t to keep this an irl peculiarity.
Unlike IRL economies however, not a single GW2 player is going to lose their house, job, car etc, because of this game’s economy. Fact.
Even if, for example, ecto’s were 100g each, it would make not one iota of a difference to one’s circumstances.
