How exactly are Necros in detail?
It’s hard to know what to say. If you offered a bit about what you like in game play? Maybe start with why the Ele was boring to you. For instance, if Ele game play wasn’t complex enough to engage your interest, your options for a different profession might devolve to either Engineer or nothing. If it was too complex, then Good News! there are a lot of options. If it was something else about the Ele, well … you’ll have to tell us before we can offer any opinions.
I never really got into Ele, mostly because of the luck luster of GO HAM AND GO DEEP, which is reflected by their low durability.
I’ve owned this game for ages now and I play every so often, I’m not sure if it’s the early leveling system or what, but I can’t get into the game, I’ve gotten one level 80 ele but that got boring fast, not because of the content but because of the class not suiting me so it was a pain to have to make another class. Also how are the classes at the moment? in terms of fun, although keep in mind I solo.
You’d have to be crazy not too.
Okay first things first. It all depends of the fact – which legendaries / ascended weapons-gear are you willing to craft or looking forward to crafting.
You will need Weapon smith on 400 and Chef on 400 for crafting Incinerator. Weapon smith on 500 to craft an ascended weapon.
Artificer covers all other Weapons usable by your class – keep that in mind.Chef will be easier and is – as far as i can recall – the cheapest crafting discipline to level.
Note: Tailoring getting up to 500 is rather expensive same goes for Artificer.
Crafting Ascended light armor will cost you hundreds of gold (not if you’re grinding your matts of course – but still it’s pretty expensive)
So weaponsmith for daggers + chef is the way to go?
Incinerator looks godly.
Bump.
Anyone know?
I would recommend leveling tailoring and artificing. Having those crafting disciplines will allow you to craft gear and if you wish, ascended weapons and armor for your elementalist.
I’m d/d :P
Chef is the most fun crafting discipline
Jeweler is nice too but Chef is definately the most fun. Not as profitable but very fun none-the-less.
Only thing is I always keep the buffs for ‘better times’, and the cycle repeats.
I’m level 35 at the moment and have never crafted before but I’ve decided to do a little crafting as I level and start stacking up materials I find but I can’t decide between Tailor/Jeweler or Tailor/Chef. What are the advantages/disadvantages?
(NA although I play from New Zealand) Hello! This guild is for those that feel as if they don’t belong anywhere else. We accept all servers although I play on Sea of Sorrows, preferably English while the guild is growing. It has just started up and I was wondering if any of you could join! Anyway here’s our message.
Hello! This guild is for those who have no where to go, we don’t fit into any other guild without felling as if we don’t belong, we choose to walk our own way through GW2 and make our own path as we travel.
Nothing can hold us down.
This isn’t a strict guild, the chat will mainly be a general chat about anything and this is a place for all those who stand out to come together and find similarities between all of us.
For example, I have tried many guilds over my time, I have little to no friends and I normally adventure through Tyria on my own without anyone likeminded to chat too.
Feel free to join today!
P.S. Respond to this saying you would like to join and I’ll flick you an invite.
I just got one at level 13 from a lion chest and it says locked. What level does it unlock?
Ty Josh for basically summing the game up totally for me man.
Would you say that its worth for me to try and max a lvl 80 character before quitting to really give this game a chance?
EDIT: Thank you everyone for the replies…o.0 Just now saw them!
I would say it would be worth it . Don’t rush the leveling experience but enjoy it as it goes and when you get to level 80 you’ll have endless content to do and you can get into WvW or PvP even before level 80 if you’d like.
I can’t guarantee this because I haven’t reached level 80 before but I have played for over 150 hours. (It’s not that the level cap is hard to reach it’s just that I keep making new characters and classes because I’m fussy :P) Hope to cya on the fields.
Forgot to mention another good thing is instead of a point and click style game like WoW this game has lots of features that keep the action going such as dodging fast moving and a variety of skills.
How important is RNG in this game?
Kind of but not really important because you can craft a lot of the stuff and it isn’t really that reliant on ‘drops’.How grindy is it to reach level cap?
You could see it as grindy but as you level up you unlock more stuff to do (not just new zones) which freshen it up, apart from that a lot of people have achieved level cap in a short time. What is the wow factor of this game?
You play your way, level up doing a variety of things, and instead of having DPS, Tank and Healer classes every class has those 3 aspects integrated so you can form your own build (although some are more viable than others) And the community is amazing! You can literally talk to anyone and have a good chat or a helpful one or even start a random dance party in the middle of nowhere. How hard is it to get OP gear in this game?
Can’t answer as I haven’t done it yet.How Pay2win is this game?
It’s not P2W at all. All you can buy are cosmetic items and you can turn in game currency into gems which buy cosmetic items anyway. What are the bad things about this game?
It’s hard to pick a class because each class has really good mechanics making them appear interesting. Also the story line isn’t really that in-depth but it isn’t a major feature of the game anyway for personal stories.Does this game give a real reason to keep playing even after I reach cap?
The game is true in the fact that it keeps on posting new content with most of that being for high level players so at level cap you won’t run out of things to do.
Only one choice IMO
Idk throughout the Sylvari story line they’re pretty racist to the Sylvari.
I’ve decided to main an ele after over 150 hours of deciding and I’ve come to another stop…What race? In specific I’m looking for a race that…
~~IS NOT CHARR (I despise them)
~~Sylvari is my favourite race but I’ve made 2 characters up to level 26 recently to try out those classes so the story will get repetitive..Not ruling it out though
~~A class that looks good in light armours for a good elementalist
~~Preferably not Asura as it’s hard to see any armour or where you are.
~~Male characters only because I’m not a weird cross genderer lol
Thank you in advance!

Melee? Yup
Spellcasting? Yup
Ranged? Yup
Pets? Only if I’m more useful than them and they’re just a little add on
Minions? See pets
Hitting hard and killing fast? Yes even if it’s just 1 hit doing heaps of damage every so often
Slow killing? Nah
Surviving well? I don’t really want to be 100% tank but I don’t want to be incredibly squishing
I’ve played over 100 hours now and I still haven’t decided on a class. Here are the things I’d like to see in a class because well I’m a fussy person.
—Easy to learn, hard to master
—Good in PVP roaming but not useless in solo PVE (I’ve tried warrior but in PVP I find it hard)
—Not with complicated traits, skills etc
—Full of fun to play
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the help guys and I’ll be adding oRx shortly.
Maybe pvp just isn’t for me the whole fighting by face rolling keyboards which everyone seems to do just doesn’t suit it for me.
Well this is not classic mmo system where you stay on place and watching spells folowing targets. You must adapt on our combat system
My first mmo haha.
Thank you everyone for the help so far! Looks like I have to get to level 80 first overall.
P.S. I’m a GS, Axe/Shield Warrior.
Giant ZAPS BOOMS explosions covering your screen, stealth interfering with your nearest target locator, abilities going in the wrong direction. Not being able to see anything.
How do I pvp?
P.S. This isn’t a troll thread I’m level 26 and I really want to try this out but I just get deleted.
Hey guys I just started a warrior and I’m really looking for fast paced damage to instead of slow hits and not to much focus on toughness but still with a sturdy characteristic.
Anyone know the best weapon types for fast damage?
And what should I be getting as an attribute as I level (precision etc)?
Thanks in advance!
Hi guys!
I’ve played for over 80 hours now with my highest level reach being level 23 because I keep making characters and deleting them because I can’t find the right one for me. I’ve now narrowed it down to elementalist and necromancer and would like to ask you on your opinion for both classes! Also I have some side questions.
Which class is more fun?
Solo PvE gameplay?
What are they like early/mid/late levels?

Anyone? At least a poor guild?
Heyo guys!
I’ve played the game for 80 hours but I keep making new characters. Now that I’ve found my true character and class and I am level 6 (who doesn’t love a midget with a giant hammer) I’m looking for a friendly guild that is either social 100% or social 50/50 with other activities. I live in New Zealand so an NZ or Aussie time group would be recommended.
Thanks in advance!
I just realised I have 70-90 hours on GW2 and my max level is a level 22 character, this is because I keep on trying different classes with different races and the confusion never seems to stop because it’s so hard to pick one character to stay with you for life.
So if someone (preferably a high level) explain a class or more on how they go in early, mid and late game as well as fun factor and play style.
Thanks in advance!
Hi guys, I’m new to this game and I am a warrior who wants to enjoy his first time play through with an active guild that is casual but also does events and activities.
Also if the guild was Australia or New Zealand based that would be great due to time zones.
Since this is my first paid mmo and I lack a lot of skill.
What would be an easy to play class?Warrior.
It’s one of the most overpowered classes and seems to be the Devs’ love child.
Would you recommend it as a fun class for first time play through?
Since this is my first paid mmo and I lack a lot of skill.
What would be an easy to play class?
That would depend on what you mean by better.
What are you feeling is missing during your current level? Most new content is actually centered around low to medium levels, rather than high levels.
It just seems like at this level with so much to do at a high level you seem like the game is actually pushing you through the levels to get to that stage. And especially at WvW where it really is armour based.
Hi guys! I’m a level 22 thief (possible to start again due to thief being eh) and so far this game hasn’t offered much but does it get better at a higher level?
I’ve heard that most new content is centered around high levels.
Thanks guys!
I’ve decided to go with Sea of Sorrows as that seems to be the better option, hope to see you on the battlefield!
Thank you all for the information it has helped me incredibly!
BG, JQ, SoR, SoS, FA are the big oceanic servers. BG probably the biggest for WvW and SoS biggest for PvE.
Does SoS have a good amount of players on for WvW though?
Not in turns of rankings but just the amount of players on.
Jade Quarry, Blackgate, Sanctum of Rall, and Sea of Sorrows all have decent oceanic populations. JQ most likely the biggest. SoR is putting out lower numbers these days, but that might be due to morale more than anything. Tarnished Coast has also shown some strength in the ocx timeslot recently as well.
I heard Sea of Sorrows are currently an unofficial Oceania server?
Would you say that they’re the biggest?
I heard Sea of Sorrows is an unofficial server?
You should submit a ticket, chances are customer service will be more than happy to help you out (:
Thanks!
Will do.
It seems that ANET is a generous and good company too.
At the moment I have just bought gw2 yesterday and picked the wrong server for wvw (time zones) and I am looking to delete my level 5 character and transfer to another server for my time zone BUT….
Will my heroic edition items such as Krytan armour and unused xp boosters be accessible on a new character?
Hi guys I recently started GW2 and I am from New Zealand which is a huge disadvantage when your currently on a Western European server (no one on wvw).
So here’s the deal if I was to delete my level 5 character could I move servers for free?
And more importantly what are some big Oceanic or Oceanicish servers which have players that would be on during my time (6:58pm Thursday at the moment)?
Thanks in advance I’ve really been looking forward to wvw in this game but haven’t got any yet.
Since you are new, maybe you wouldn’t mind deleting your characters? You can star off fresh on a new server if you do that.
Hmm so Jade Quarry sounds good except I don’t know when people will be on all the time unless it is Oceanic based, if I deleted my character wouldn’t I still have to pay in gems though?
Or wait 7 days?
Darn I don’t have the cash at all to purchase gems to move servers…
Really should of researched servers before I picked one.
So I’m new to GW2 and I’ve really anticipated wvw up until now where everyone is asleep on my home world Gandara (Europe).
Is there anyway to find awake people or go to another world for wvw purely because my countries time zone is far in front of Europe’s and America’s (12 hours ahead of England).
Please help I really would like to play this.
