Besides Legendaries/map completition/completiting all jumping puzzles.. what are the long term attractions to the game? Where is the GRIND that takes so long.. the painstaking hardcorness of gw2 to be complained about? Is it because it can’t be all done in 2 weeks playing 1hr/day?
I’ve been playing almost daily² since release. I’ve barely scratched the surface of the game.
² daily means 5 days a week, about 1 hour a day max. Weekends are almost impossibel for me to log on. Some days I go on a binge which leads to an average 3h daily in lifetime.
This right here is the problem, ive only just come to realise it and ive been playing for a year on and off.Gw2 IS too casual..
By the time i get home from work , my other activities, dinner etc and start playing its around 7:30 pm. I play around 3to4 hours nightly. Now for someone like me that plays 4 hours a night, ive run out of stuff to do, you can only farm dungeons so much till your geared on all ur toons.
Gw2 is too casual, it only took me a year to realise it ( playing on and off ).
Point still stands, no one has really answered it.
Why does all the easy stuff in this game get rewarded more then doing any harder content? In most games ive played ( and thats alot in my 35 years )the harder the content, the better the rewards.
This game is basically the easier something is, the better rewards….
It’s a good question. Maybe because this game was never really about the rewards…even though people play it like it is.
Well if this were any other game, id agree, but its a mmo.
The sole purposes of any rpgmmo is too get stronger with better gear from killing harder things. ie..raids etc.
Without rewards, there really is no point. I mean i may aswell go play skyrim , fallout or system shock2 ,which im replaying atm ( what a great game )
that are single player games.
The point of online mmo’s is to get stronger via rewards to play with or against others with these rewards…
Point still stands, no one has really answered it.

I have been thinking about this alot lately.
Its simple really.
Why do 5-15 minute world bosses award rares and exotics for zerg facerolling them?
And why does a difficult dungeon like arah ( lupi is a pug killer ) reward…..nothing?
I mean, arah takes time, skill and co-ordination to complete and is clearly an endgame dungeon. Lupi is actually my fav bossfight in the game. Why dont endgame dungeon runners recieve rewards equal to the challenge they just conquered. Same goes for high lvl fotm….
My question is..Why does an easy event that 50 ppl zerg kill in a matter of minutes award more then a challenging dungeon where players need some actual skills to beat ( not to mention the 20 -40 minutes to complete the dungeon )?
Does this seem like an upside down pyramid??
Im totally expecting some to come here and tell me its a casual game, deal with it, but the way anet have set up this system is just plain backwards….
I just realised this the other day also. Its rather sad, because i dont really have any new games to go onto with ( till eso ) anyways.
I just did my world explorer, got DM title, ran fractions over and over, killed all bossed, done all jumping puzzles……Now i can save for a legendary, but to what end?
I sit here and think when i finally do get my legend, what then? This thought right here kinda broke the whole game for me.
What i PERSONALLY <——imho…..need are more challenging dungeons / raids, something we can progress on and something not everyone can do or pug. Its the only thing to strive for in mmos.
Lets be serious, everyone can aquire the same armour and weapons as the person next to them, sometimes with little effort. We need content that requires thought and challenge to aquire gear that isnt so easily avaliable. You have to be prepared to dedicate saome time and have some skill to get better items.
Ofcoarse this is just a pipedream, as the amount of times ppl fail at cof P1 speaks volumes about the player base.
ALl in all, gw2 is a casual game desinged for casuals, and this right here is the problem for ppl like me. Its taken me a year to see it, but i can see it clearly now.
I’m lovin the Moa races, but, have to say that it would have been AWESOME if it were like the rollerbeatle races and we were transformed into the Moa’s that are in the race.
Even that would be better then the static crap they gave us.
Really, pay half a gold, then sit there and stare at …nothing, waiting for some results?
When i read moa racing, i was thrilled, i didnt read any patch notes, i assumed it would be racing like mario cart with other players, like ff7 chocobo races:)
Hell was i wrong….
SO…wheres our dungeon already…
Dont even start me about dragonball…..
Any raids coming soon? Some real content maybe?
Yea, i agree, they are totally sooo cool.
Like honestly , whats there not to like about handing over hard earned coin for a rng ( 1/5) chance to maybe win a race.
The best thing ,imho, is just standing there doing nothing waiting for the results, only to get " moa race failed "
Please insert another 50 silver and try again.
Ive lost 2 gold so far and for me thats actually a fair bit considering im still saving for my legendary…
Why add stupid rng events that cost a heap of money. Give us content! We want challenging dungeons that award cool skins we get from using our gaming skills ( gasp, i know right, you have to actually try and earn it…NO wai… )
Moa racing is suxor!
It needs meaningful endgame. Whether it be raids or dungeons with rewards that are not just aesthetically pleasing but also have better stats. The gear ladder is what keeps people playing MMOs. Im sorry but thats the only way it works.
I disagree. I feel that any dungeons/raids with content that is difficult mechanically and is not doable by the entire GW2 populace via faceroll would be great. Aesthetic rewards that come only from said dungeon/raid would be all that a lot of players require.
I agree 100%. I honestly dont want a gear treadmill, but having harder content ( lupi comes to mind, best boss fight in the game ) would certainly be appreciated.
No cheap gimmicks of bosses hitting harder, but actual strategy ( last boss in MF was also good )…
Have these places drop skins that arnt easily attainable so every chump can run around with them, make them only for the dedicated few…
totally agree. Risk vs reward is non existent in gw2.
I think dungeons like arah and high fotm should reward players with more coin and maybe a rare at the end to say " great run, you did well and survived the trecherous road laid infront of you "…
Lets face it, how many ppl can honestly kill lupi out of everyone playing? 1/3, maybe 1/2…
Shouldnt the better players get a slightly better reward for being , well, better?
Im sure in sports better players get rewarded bettter? Why is this different, pvp is an esport is it not, pve can be lumped into it also….
Right on Reya.
For some reason, the others posting in this thread dont comprehend.
I have my dungeon master title, i am an avid arah runner ( cmon now, the armours and weapons look cool ).
Where exactly did i mention i want handouts and free ledgendaries/rares/exotics?
I HATE HANDOUTS, its why i dont play wow anymore, that game was awesome , then it took a wrong turn and never recovered.
To another poster on the first page…I can mention another instance where running dungeons the whole expansion was still viable ( and difficult )…Burning crusade …
The epitome of perfection ( dungeon wise )…Run the instance for rep to buy the key to unlock heroic or do quests for rep..
Gw2 could easily implement something like this.. Do the events , hearts and dungeons in the area, gain rep to buy a key to open the gates of cof yourself.
Dont have a key, do the event….simple.
Honestly what is with the lazy comments?
Over the years, ive raided pretty hardcore, put in ALOT of time and dedication, farming mats, making pots and buff food etc….
Not wanting to do the event isnt lazy, ive done my time, let the youngsters have a go:)
Bottom line….I really enjoy running dungeons ( and raiding )…Its what i do, its what im good at ( i can prob count on both hands the amounts of times ive pvped, theres other games for that, FPS ). I dont want to do events unless im in the mood for them, simple as that, i want to run the dungeon…
I mean i can see 1vs1 or 2vs2 being really good, but wvwvw?
Seriously??
Everyone is allways going on how pro they are because they are a pvper and dont bother with carebear pve, but ive been doing some wvwvw lately and its like this…
Group of 30 meets group of 40, mass confusion, slowdown, spell effects everywhere , wtf is going on, its just chaos. you dont know whats going on. Its just 1 massive zerg.
Not really enticing. pvp in most mmos is like this, its why i never really do it. Id rather a fps for my pvp.
Am i missing something here, why does everyone think wvwvw is so awesome? i must be doing it wrong.
Usually i like to run a quick cof for some tokens and coin before i go to bed as it is a swift run.
Tonight, al 5 of us where on different servers , all contested, 3 of us guested to 6 other servers , all contested….what gives?
11 servers contested. No one wants to do the event ,because quite frankly, i have done it soooo many times, it bores me to tears…
All i wanted was a quick cof, but alas tonight, a duneon run was denied from me.
IMHO i should be able to run dungeons whenever i choose to without participating in a silly event to " open the gates "….If i want to run events, i go run events….
Please remove this silly event from cof, it wastes my time, it wastes the other 4 guys time, it wastes every single persons on the servers time…..Now , without a doubt ill get the few that will come here and say " but i like doing the event, its part of the game "…..Sure it is, but it gets old, quick….
All i wanted to do was run a quick cof…just a quick ole run before bed…..
DENIED ACCESS……..
Feeling a tad entitled aren’t you? Just do the easy event for the extra loot then enter.
My god, do you ppl even run dungeons in pugs? Or are most of you here jus tthe typical social buterflies that hang out with guildies and talk about your day?
The event was up, i was prepared to do it, i told the group so, 2 of them left…
NOONE wants to do it.
Its not about handouts, i was a serious raider ,taking a break til lthat other company unnerfs their game, I DONT WANT handouts, ever…
What i want is the ability to run any dungeon i choose when i want.
When raiding, i cant ever seem to recall doing any events that took 15 minutes to start raiding!!!
Atleast put the event cooldown on a few hours instead of every 30 minutes…
omg.
It’s a simple quest. Gather 5 people in your server and you could finish it. I’m pretty sure you’re not the only one wanting to run CoF.
And here are the first to arrive…
Did you not hear me. I DONT WANT TO DO THE EVENT, I WANT TO RUN THE DUNGEON….
Usually i like to run a quick cof for some tokens and coin before i go to bed as it is a swift run.

The idea that dungeons require teamwork is just something that’s been instilled into us from other MMOs. It’s not what a dungeon is. In fact, there are many games that have solo dungeons. And even in Guild Wars 1 you could have a party of NPCs and you and solo a dungeon.
DE’s reward me with fun. As I do them I also get loot, karma and experience. Since I play games to have fun, I am amply rewarded by DEs.
Mate , i understand your pov ( sortoff ), but i honestly dont agree , actually im on the other side of the spectrum.
This is going to sound really rude, im sorry, but i dont know how else to say it.
Its people like you why we have these watered down, generic and boring games these days.
You find doing DE’S fun, i find they bore the crap out of me, 30 people zerging a boss?
How is that fun or in any way skillful? Do you feel accomplished and prideful when the boss goes down to the mass zerg? I know i sure dont.
Fun for me was Burning crusade. The instances, the raids, challenging, yet doable if you and a few select others had a clue. Downing bosses , vent would erupt with cheering, THAT instilled pride and accomplishment.
But " casuals " ( i use the word VERY loosely ) seem to want to just run easy content with little to no thought about any strategy or consequences of dying, hence all these new " gen " games where born…
Diablo 3, pandaland, SW:TOR, dungeon siege 3, mass effect 3, simcity 5,DA 2, the list goes on.
Simplified, generic rubbish produced for the masses. I feel a dark time indeed is ahead of us for all gamers that take their ( this ) hobby a little more seriously then just " its a way to kill a few hours "….
Not much to say, title says all.
I got my ele which i like to use same hotkeys for as my warrior, but they do different functions.
So every time i switch to a diff character, im always remapping my keys.
Character specific hotkeys would be great:)
This annoys me, people like you.
This is why open world events will never be truly great.
Because if their IS a negative to losing a event, then people cry about it.
So events instead of becoming better, they be nerf until they have no change on the world whats so ever.
I got no problems with events, i do more then enough on all my characters.
Im talking about 1 event to get into a dungeon . 1 event per map that doesnt need to happen. No other mmo in the last 10 years i can name that i played had these " events " that needed to be completed before running a dungeon.
Some days i have hours to play, the events dont bother me 1 bit, other days ive only got maybe 1 hour, so spending 20 minutes doing an event to run a dungeon is meaningless, i may aswell not run it.
Dont you understand?
I want to run dungeons. i love running dungeons. i dont want to do events to actually get to do what i want to do.i agree with most of what you said, events in the zones are fun, dungeons are fun, but ‘winning’ events to ‘unlock’ dungeons is just a poor design. its more of a useless time sink (hardly rewarded for doing so).
but to respond to your ‘no other mmo in the last 10 years…’ part, (sigh, gonna have to say it) WoW, wintergrasp and tol barad (both pvp zones) alliance vs horde, whoever wins, gets control of the raid dungeon to play
Well, i quit wow when it sold out. I gave it a chance thru wrath, but blizz failed me.
So yea soz, i didnt know about wows instanced thing. But im actually talking about real mmo’s that do the event thing, not the abomination wow turned out to be, a fairyland for kids.
This annoys me, people like you.

Seriously, this is really getting the better of me!!
We do 1 run of cof, exit, and all 5 DIFFERENT players from ALL different servers are contested.. so the party leaves and no path 2 run happens..
If i want to run a dungeon, i should be able to run that dungeon whenever i feel like it.
What gives, what is the reasoning behind dungeons allways being contested?
Anet, please, seriuosly think about abolishing the event required to enter the dungeons.
Ive fought the COF event so many times, i know it of by heart, its not fun or enjoyable anymore to do, its just plain aggravating….
D/D eles solo champs by sitting there and making sure every single weapon skill and attunement is on cooldown. Not that hard.
Well, yea, i know.
My warrior now has full exotics, same as my ele.
The outcome…..
Warrior has 7k more health
Warrior has ALOT more toughness
Warrior can do 12k burst damage in 3 seconds, ele cannot even come close een after attunement hoping and most skills on CD.
Warrior has better healing ( sonic boom warrior ).
Id even argue warrior gives better buffs ( might and vunerability ) to a ele ( heals? )
The ONLY real difference i actually still love my ele is for the sole fact that the playstyle when duel weilding daggers is unreal. Old school wow warriors with stance dancing:)
IMHO…….Apart from the playstyle, the warrior is just the better class to play…
Ok i made a topic about this a while ago but have been on hiatus for a bit, now back in full force playing.
It is mainly in dungeons im talking about.
My ele is 80, in all exotics weilding a D/D build. I know how to play it very well, allways attunment hoping . I specced her into the aura build.
My warrior is a shout warrior, he hasnt got full exotics on yet and a green 2 hander and atm he has more survivability, WAY more damage ( and although this part doesnt worry me much) he is 5X easier to play.
Things in the world my ele couldnt solo i destroy with my warrior without even breaking a sweat.
Now, IMHO, i think the ele is totally underpowered compared the a warrior in PVE.
Not only is she harder to play, but she dies as soon as someone looks at her wrong.
I really love playing my ele , but after doing some runs on my warrior in dungeons, im really at a loss and more inclined just to take my warrior along as he can pretty much do anything better then my ele and lives longer to tell the story about it….
Am i tripping balls here, or is what im saying actual fact and is happening?
EVERY day, the same thing over and over..SOmetimes for up to half an hour.
I know i could do another run, but times like this when ive only got around 45 mins, a cof run is quick and easy….
I am SO SO sick of doing this event EVERY day, all the time just to run a dungeon.
We ran COF yesterday and the group was kinda new , so it took longer, when we came out to do path 2, it was contested again, so i didnt get my second run in….
Anet, i beg you, PLEASE remove this event to get into cof, or any dungeon for that matter…
I got no problem farming, i actually like grinding, but theres a time and place for it, no other mmo makes you do a prerequisite to run a dungeon…..
learn to use the mouse to turn and you will do really well.
if you keyboard turn and dont keep the camera faceing your target then yes you will have a hard time in underwater.
just imagine you are strafeing underwater like on land combat. hold the right mouse button down and use A D to strafe (this works exactly like the strafe keys and lets u rebind them).
people really need to learn to mouse turn and strafe in combat.
To start with, Why did someone change my title?
And secondly , i see what im doing wrong, keyboard turning…
I guess all those times raiding as either the main or off tank back in burning crusade didnt teach me anything ( with a prot warrior mind you ). I also guess being a gamer for the past 28 years didnt teach me a thing or 2 either…
All sarcasm aside, no offense mate, if you really must know, i have also been keybinding every skill for the past 10 years!!
Underwater combat is DODGY…
My first character to 60, an ele, i HATED underwater combat, i avoided it like the plague.
My second a warrior, although ALOT better , its still sooo….Clunky and unresponsive, and with some of the awesome camera views we have the pleasure of viewing, it just makes it soo kitten hard to see if the mob is above or beneath you, of to the side, who knows…
Third, a thief!! Yea, im staying high and dry, i think im going to skip ALL water content and only do my story water ones * cringe *.
Back when i played that " other " game , there was an underwater zone there too that i NEVER went to for the same reasons, and guess what, i honestly just dont think mmo’s know how to pull of water combat….
Not to mention the weapons we are supplied with underwater are so mundane and boring to use.
Overall , gw2 is awesome, but i find in the later levels, the overuse of water combat is rather abundant ( Theres a FreakinG lot of it !!!!)
(edited by skullcrusher.7849)
Why make it a 3 day thing?
Why not make it for a month or keep it permanent?
Well, i can tell the typical mmo player these days wants hand holding by these replies.
No grinding, no this , no that..
Why bother even playing? Warcraft has made gamers soft. MAde them comfortable.
There needs to be risk vs reward..
You Need to be able to try your hardest to not die or you lose xp.
We need a mmo that takes months to get to cap. It needs to be hard.
Look…This one is pretty easy, wow is pretty easy, and everyone is bashing it..no content, to casual, blah blah blah.
We need a AAA mmo for real gamers.
Nothing i hate more then exploring in a zone ie 40 -50 , and your lvl 48, go do some crafting and end up lvling 3 levels.
Why is there xp for crafting and finding nodes?
I like remaining the same level for the zone, and i know it DElevels you, but thats not the point. Unlike most people , i like grinding a little for levels. But we cant in gw2 , as we level WAY too quick.
And yes, i have a few 80,s already, and no, i dont want to skip content and get to 80. i still want to explore everything on my alts. Thats another thing, whats with all the items with xp boosts? I havnt used 1 yet , i got a bank full of them. Like i said, leveling is way too quick already…
Just remove XP from crafting please
Before i start, im talking purely pve here as i havnt touched pvp at all yet.
Title should say it all.
My first character made and to 80 was a ele.
Ive run all the dungeons and done most exp modes.
I also run D/D exclusively in dungeons and pretty much everywhere.
The ele class itself is an awesome idea, like i said elsewhere, it kinda plays like an old prot warrior with stance dancing ( back when warriors in wow where actually good, bc era ).
For this reason i like the classes PLAYSTYLE better then my warriors.
Warrior is basically dps for dummies.
Theres no comparison between the 2 in terms of which class is harder to play.
Ele is WAY harder then the warrior to play and play correctly.
So my question is this, since the warrior is SO much easier to play, why is he stronger in nearly every aspect of the game?
He runs duel axes and a greatsword so aoe is top notch. His aoe is miles better then my eles.
Heavy armor and more hitpoints means he can take ALOT more of a beating and survive longer Whilst my ele wears a tablecloth for armor.
My ele dies SAOOO much in explorables whilst my warrior ( with a sword and shield sometimes ) barely dies anywhere near my ele.
On my ele, i avoid underwater combat like the plague, on my warrior i cherish underwater combat, he mows stuff down.
The list goes on….
Im just totally at a loss here as how these 2 classes are so far apart from each other balance wise…
I made a executive decision 3 nights ago, my mage is only a dungeon runner now, my warrior is going to be the farmer, the map explorer AND my dungeon runner.
Its such a shame as i really enjoy the design of the ele class.
No doubt they will get fixed in the future, but for now, my greatsword is going to be the thing leading me into battle……
Still bugged, content has been disabled
Now i just hope i remember this vista in the future to come back too.
No map completion chest for me
Lets break this down shall we.
I have a lvl 80 and a lvl 22.
My lvl 80 has a heap of dungeons to run yet for tokens and i havnt even TOUCHED pvp yet.
I also have a full time job and like other activities outside of my nerd den.
For people like me theres SOOO MUCH more content to still do and see, for no lifers like alot of people i see around the place that sit and play all day long, theres probably very little to see and do.
I used to be hardcore, now im not.
This game caters to people like me and i love it.
This game does not cater to people that have no job, its their problem, not mine.
Cool story hey…
This is a pay-to-win game. Why would you feel bad about playing the game the way it was meant to be played? Just go ahead and spend the money if you can afford it.
how is this game pay to win?
You have no idea what ur talking about.
pay to win is diablo 3 where u can buy GEAR with real money.
So are you saying the gem shop sells gear?
You can convert gems to gold and buy items ingame on the ah if thats what you mean by PTW.
But how is that different from any other mmo like wow where you can buy gold from gold farmers and do the same?
I put 60 bucks in gw2 so far so i can upgrade my bank and inventory slots and thats all. Whats wrong with that? thats not pay to win.
Like i said, u got no idea what your talking about
Thanks guys. Ive been crafting in LA hence this thread.
Silly me for not testing out other towns.
Thanks again.
From the crafting stations,I know its not that far to run, i totally understand.
But when you craft and need to buy 12 cloth, run to TP to pick it up, get back, realise you need 1 more piece , run to tp, pick it up , run back, then are short 3 totems, run to tp, pick it up, run back etc…..it gets a bit irratating…
I was just wondering the reason why the trading post cant be near the bank and crafting stations…
Is there an honest reason apart from the time sink to actually run back and forth across towns for something simple as just buying 1 bit or copper ore?
skullcrusher, try to not get too negative and name calling before our post gets locked here. WoW is another game and it doesn’t make it a lesser game for people that are not good enough for your game. So it doesn’t have to be derogatory.
Im sorry mate, i forgot how soft people are getting these days.
Cant even voice my OWN opinions? I didnt call anyone any names….
But please , you can all carry on with hugging each other….
(edited by skullcrusher.7849)
I feel the same as Saruba, over 300 hours at least with 2 level 80’s and the rest around 20-35. Last week I resigned as guild leader and haven’t logged in again. I’ll let the fanboys and diehards fight over the future of the game since you’re not allowed to have a negative opinion apparently.
This is also everyones problem.
I used to be very hardcore, but about 2 years ago i changed jobs, nowdays i really dont have to much time, but i can put in 2-3 hours nightly and more on weekends to play.
I have 1 80 and a lvl 10.
You lot play 24/7 and expect NOT to burn out…Haha, i just find this funny.
My 80 runs exp mode dungeons, then ill switch and play and alt, theres 3-4 hours already.
Im still enjoying the game, but like i said, im more casual these days.
You guys gotta learn to either go outside more, or play other games alongside mmo’s.
Modern day mmo’s arnt like they used to be ( back in the good days ).
Nowdays they all follow the same casualised, garbage road WOW has taken them down…
I topped playing primarily because this game has become a tedious grind-fest
back when the game released and prior to that..yes, back in those Beta weekend Events, this game looked so ever promising and to be honest, it was perfect and hands down the best game on the market. …. However, upon release, it seems like Anet have made it their dedicated job to make this game harder, more grind-fest oriented and only bearable for bots…all of which obviously came as a surprise but I guess I should have seen this coming, the game was too good to be true anyways
atm there’s not much to do anymore…..I cant even play because if i wanted to “explore” or even go to a nearby city or hell…even go to the next zone i’ll have to pay a kitten-load of money just because I’m level 80
sad to say…this game will be getting uninstalled in the nearby future :/
I dunno about you, but i like a bit of grind in mmo’s, what else is there to do. its all about combat isnt it? duh…
And your complaining about CHALLENGE ( being harder )……You are one of the problems with gaming today..
I got a hint for you….WOW is that way —-—————>
That game seems more your cup of tea. Close your eyes and faceroll…
Ok, for a starter, i dont pvp, so anything pvp is unknown to me.
But i run D/D in dungeons. Its not bad, but im allways the first one down.
WHY do i HAVE to use a staff in dungeons. Why cant i use my daggers and be usefull?
I thought we where free to use w/e weapon we wanted , but obviousy d/d in dungeons makes me a melee, where i get 1 shot killed most times with my robe made out of butter…..
I dont like the staff as much. Too many skills you have to stop and channel. I like being on the move the whole time. D/d is perfect for this.
my build is 20 10 10 10 20
My gear is mainly crafted with toughness as my main stat ( to survive )
The class reminds me of playing a prot warrior back when wow was good ( vanilla, bc )
I really enjoy playing a ele, but when nearly everyone can do anything better with a LOT less effort, it kinda crushes me….
I avoid underwater combat like the plague.
Lvl 75 + areas underwater, not a chance in hell.
Not worth the effort.
I die more underwater x 10 then i ever do on land.
Scenario, straights of devastation.
Killing some ghostly swords on the way to a skill point.
I can barely kill 1 without it nearly killing me.
A warrior charges straight in, takes out 2 and still has half health.
Im here rolling, stance dancing ( attunements swapping ) using NEARLY ALL MY 20 skills, strafing like an idiot while this warrior just waltzes in and destroys.
Dungeons are the same. Im allways the first down, doing my best while every other class just stands there and attacks, taking it and dishing it out…..
Today might of been the last straw for me, ive already rolled an alt warrior when i first started, think ill play him for a while.
I have come to the conclussion that elementalists are underpowered atm. Sure, they will get fixed in time, but for now, ill pick a class that actually is balanced….
Reading forums is like contracting the plague.
I PROMISED myself id go nowhere near the gw2 forum, yet sometimes whilst eating dinner, lunch etc infront of the comp, i get bored and want to read about things, especially this game as it totally rocks.
I Couldnt give a kitten what anyone else thinks, this game is golden imho.
I cant play it enough. Ofcoarse, i have a job and get to only play 3-4 hours nightly these days, which sux..
The problem with alot of gw2 population it seems is theres ALOT of unemployed nerds that have heaps of spare time on their hands, smash out max lvl and obtain all the gear, then cry about nothing to do.
Im only lvl 70 atm , and having a blast doing dungeons and pve ( havnt touched pvp yet, not really my thing, i have FPS for that ) and the amount of high level characters getting about is astounding…..
So, to conclude, for people like me, this game is absolutely awesome, game of the year by far, for the unemployed with 16 hours daily to play, this game will get old, quick.
I suggest all the oxygen thieves go find another game to play, GW2 is totally fine the way it is….( a few tweaks , patches ect prob needed, but overall an enjoying game to play )
Granted im only lvl 70,D/D mostly with a bit of staff, but honestly i try to avoid underwater combat because it just feels like eles are sooo underpowered with their trident skills.
I die more underwater by FAR then i ever do on land.
So, ive come to the conclussion that underwater batttles with an ele just arnt worth doing. They arnt fun ( for me anyway )
Anyone else?
Inbefore L2P and ele underwater combat is fine, is it easier with other classes, surely it has to be.?
But seriously, MMOs are about the endgame, and GW2 has zero endgame.
Soo, you like raiding with 9-24 other ( mostly useless ) random players ?
5-8 player s( mates) inguild that where good, , the rest where warm bodies gaining phat lootz they didnt deserve
I did it for 6 years, at times pretty hardcore. Trying to teach the unskilled is like pulling teeth.
IM OVER RAIDING, no more….
4 core mates that a great players, challenging dungeons with a few paths IS our endgame in gw2, Its all i could ever ask for.
I logged in last night for 5 hours.
The first 3 of those hours i didnt engage in combat once. i gained 2 levels though.
My story quest is 15 lvls below me. Every time i go to the zone my story quest is in, Im a WAY lower level to be there, not that i mind.
ATM, im overleved by 15 levels ( in the current zone im fighting in ).
IMHO, turn of xp for crafting and discovering the zone in cities….
Xp gain is out of control. Theres xp gain on SO MANY ITEMS, i sell them all to the vendor.
I wish ithere was a slider to turn xp off truthfully.
Last words. Sounds like another wow player, nothing to see here…..
I hated the water zone in wow, i hated it in other games, the combat just feels very akward, distances hard to judge and overall its just not very enjoyable.
I pretty much avoid all combat and DE,s under water
Anyone else feel the same.
Not whinging, just want to know others thoughts on the matter, am i alone in this mindset?
Overall anet, THUMBS up, top game, love it:)

That’d be great if your being there actually meant something. One of the great advantages of having your own instance (ala GW1) is that successes and failures are based solely on you and your team.
You should look into doing some dungeons.
I’ve done dungeons, and didn’t get any satisfaction from them. I’m open to trying them again, but if dungeons are all anybody has to look forward to at endgame then, well…
I dunno about you, but im so over raiding with 9 -24 other random, bad, mediocre, keyboard turner, noob, clicker or kid ( pick one ).
This way, we have a 5 man group of mates that are actuall gamers and know how to play and use ALL their skills effectively, and dungeons arnt really that bad ( well, explorer mode is brutal, but, THAT IS ENDGAME .)
This game is better then anything ive played this year ( apart from dark souls on the ps3 ).
And all the people whinging about bugs and all that other stuff, Its freaking 3 weeks old, settle down ….Fixes will happenkitten
And playing 200 hours in 3 weeks is absolutely shocking mate.
70 HOURS A WEEK, 10 HOURS A DAY.
You need either a job , or a life.
This is the classic example of why games are the way they are these days, people like you that play nonstop, burn out, dictate theres nothing to do, your bored , then whinge and complain.
Im only lvl 60 atm, and having a blast, playing whenever i can ( usually 4 hours nightly ).
All i got to say to you is…Move along mate, move along, nothing to see here.
We dont need your kind…
Ele’s are not weak if you stance dance.
Yes, thats right .Stance dance .
Why do i love my ele?
Well, i play D/D, and have 3 gap closers. 1 in fire, lightning and earth.
The class just feels so right to play for me and heres why.
In wow ( gasp ) i played a prot warrior for nearly 5 years ( back when it was good, vanilla, especially bc ) , there was no aoe , you had to stance dance alot, i got good at it and the ele is VERY similiar, i love the class….
Could use a little buff here and there, but the game is young, good things will come….
