Fix it please…the Mace is the main Kaiser skin I’m going for (aside from the auras) and I want the flail physics. It’s the best Mace in game for that reason.

Side note: Make the Kaiser skin flail faster like a helicopter propeller! Haha

I support the decision mainly because the game needs more than new legendaries right now. Though honestly Mike, you guys need to decide what it is you’re going to deliver…so many unfulfilled promises, so many unfinished areas of the game, bugs and balance all over the place…what is GW2? What are you guys aiming for because at the moment I think we’re all losing hope.

Focus on something and make it great because at the moment we have empty WvW BLs, no new dungeons, boring fractals, a decent-ish raid, hardly any new skins (even further aggravated now)…the only other content forces you into 2 hour meta event cycles to hop onto a treadmill (thought ANet didn’t believe in them?). I love the new maps but urgh doing nothing but event after event just doesn’t have lasting appeal – plus you have diminishing returns in play idk why.

I love this game but it’s never been in a more precarious position for me, I’m bored out my mind…least there used to be dungeons to offer some fun/variation/lolz with friends…fractals isn’t the same.

Revert dungeon rewards, bring back SAB, and please figure out what the hell you guys are doing.

PS. How’s about you take the developers who are making you crappy gliders/outfits every other week and put them on legendaries? …just sayin’

Honestly I don’t understand what analysis the balance team does before nerfing Mesmer into the ground. You have a solid history of giving us a buff, waiting for players complaining it’s OP, and then slamming us back into being completely unusable.

The fact is you spent however long developing an elite specialisation with theme and mechanics built around gaining/stealing time but instead of considering innovative solutions to the issues arising from alacrity and WoP you basically decided to completely gut Mesmer and remove us from both PvP and PvE.

I’m sorry to post such a disheartened comment – gliding in Tyria and Shatterer are awesome btw – but you really have a history of neglecting Mesmer balance which is highlighted by the fact we received nothing but nerfs this balance patch. No, I didn’t forget about the condi buffs you tossed in to pretend you actually worked on Mesmer…these are beyond pathetic.

Further, what happened to the ‘amazing changes’ to Scepter that would ‘reinvent the functionality’ of the weapon? I’m paraphrasing of course but you made this big song-and-dance about the changes and all it ended up being was minor – again useless – changes to the auto-attack?

Every balance seems so rushed and unproductive, do you even know what you want Mesmer to be?

If we’re supposed to be a utility profession then stop nerfing our utility and how about actually sorting out the issues with some of the others e.g. Mirror Images (stupid cooldown), Arcane Thievery (stupid cooldown), Phantasmal Defender (absolute junk), Well of Precognition (figure out something that doesn’t throw this in the trash), iMage (still junk – change it).

You can’t powercreep every other profession then leave us hitting like wet noodles without bringing anything to the table (we really need a damage buff compared to the other elites).

Change Scepter. Simple. Follow through with what you said, recognise the weapon needs a serious overhaul and do it.

Please look at our specialisation trait lines. We have some utterly terrible traits in them which have no synergy at all. We have little to no build diversity because of it…some of the worst offenders: Evasive Mirror (it’s really bad), Sharper Images (change the bleed to something more universal across builds), Malicious Sorcery (not an elite imo), Mental Defense (come on now…why would anyone want a junk iDef after block/evade it’s utter garbage and you know it). There’s surely more I can’t think of right now.

I only wish Mesmer was Colin’s favourite profession, doubt we’d see so many problems. I’m not suggesting any bias of course but Engineer has such good synergy between trait lines and really has a lot of fun and interesting options to play with whereas we have to take a Sword main hand…there’s literally no other option. In PvE/PvP we use around 50% of our weapons, ever. A similar percentage is probably true of our trait lines and utilities. There’s just too much junk and what is usable isn’t strong enough, so there’s no option not to take it because we’re already sub-par.

You mentioned since HoT release, your development is shifting from breadth to depth. I really hope this might include a serious in depth look at the profession because as of right now it’s taken so many hits I wouldn’t be surprised if most Mesmer mains re-rolled.

Any information on Tar Elemental Core – item required to craft Rodgort’s Flame. The description says it drops from the bodies of fallen tar elementals. I know I’m not the only one who’s been farming Tar Elementals and still haven’t received a drop…please advise.

Worst sale ever. Why they even extended it is beyond me. ANet could’ve made so much more money off items players actually wanted, not even bunny ears, but armor sets, character slots? Our opinions as always, fell on deaf ears.

Glad it’s over, now if only MaC (Mordrem are Coming) will end so we can all begin to forget…

After playing both betas, I really think this needs a lot of work to be fun. At the moment you can get through entire matches without ever worrying/engaging another player, it’s a moba-hybrid that removes all complexity and progression from the genre. It needs a separate queue simply because it isn’t PvP.

Any changes made to the game need to consider how to encourage players to fight one another, over spawning a mass of DBs and pushing aggressively.

- I would consider moving the treb behind the first gate and in its place put another minion/buff/champion though probably something which isn’t directly related to a lord rush. Perhaps a champion that provides a passive damage reduction/stability at supply?
- Add more utility to Archers. I would suggest adding two towers that can only be damaged by archers or players, with them doing greater damage to players than NPCs. Place one in the middle of each lane at the intersection near the hero channel and the other at the bend inside the first gate.

Idk at the moment it feels like sacrifices have been made due to keeping the game time shorter than you would expect and because of that it feels like a PvE lord rush.

There is also an expectation in purchasing the Infinite Coin (and other SAB Gem Store products) that profits would be reinvested back into further development and not reallocated elsewhere, which is probably somewhat naive and definitely was not the case.

What’s made even worse is that we now know ANet were intending/developing HoT all along, so when SAB Back to School came out with the gem store addition of the Infinite Coin they would have had reasonable outlines for their developer workload, namely Josh being placed on different projects, and with the inception of the living world leading up to HoT that SAB development would be benched.

It feels like a shameless cash grab for a project they knew wasn’t going to be furthered for another 2 years…how can they both refuse refunds for the Coins and remain silent about the possibility of reopening Worlds 1/2?

With the upcoming game sale 6-8 March through buyguildwars2.com yet again I’m left wondering if ANet have ever offered a similar discount on the in-game upgrade?

I fully understand the sale is intended to attract new players to the game with the reduced price, but I still wish they would offer similar benefits to existing players. Hopefully this could be considered for a future gem store sale.

"Charr and Asura use Male Model"

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: smilango.5960

smilango.5960

Seriously can we get some response from ANet on this its really starting to annoy me.

This trend of merging male/female armor skins, outfits, and faces (the last Asura face updates were exactly the same) for Charr and Asura actually causes detriment to people play either of these race-gender mains.

GW2 endgame is aesthetic/cosmetic; veteran players enjoy having new ways to customise your character (and make them unique/personal). With each update that introduces more skins, which does not give two gender options for Charr and Asura, we’re essentially receiving a lesser “endgame” (I know, bit of a stretch but hey).

There may be lore/physiological issues to address, but we should be given equal opportunities options to promote our race-gender choice. The recent Raiment of the Lich outfit for instance, would it really have been too difficult to provide a model without the breast/cleavage?

I accept it will require 1-2 additional designs but in most cases those would only be minor chest reworks – a small amount of work in support for the races you created and your players who chose them, no?

Bolt and Quip with a Dragon /rank finisher:

Summons: Blue Eyes Ultimate Toon Dragon. A three headed player controlled mount that can fly. Once per summon it randomly secretes a precursor in flight (cannot fly in cities) which is acquired by an enemy in the map. The acquisition allows the enemy to evolve into its Ultimate form (a rank higher than Champion) and can be attacked by players to receive the precursor.

Precursor allocation is based off the least amount of damage contribution over time in the event, however, not using a skill at any time invalidates your chance.

Let's Talk About the Skin Lottery

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: smilango.5960

smilango.5960

I think this was probably the best idea ANet had that would provide an opportunity to obtain the skins without crashing the markets. I’m all for the skins being reintroduced somehow, even if I don’t win the prices will likely drop to a point I could seriously consider buying them.

That being said I think they could take suggestions to improve it, should it return again next year. A free giveaway from ANet should equitable for all players imo. The odds of the raffle are determined by the number of wrappers submitted, so it has bias towards richer (time/gold/gems) players.

A way around this would have been to have a cap on the amount of wrappers submitted (i.e. 500 max) that still requires some form of player investment. After the cap, players could sell the tickets to a vendor for other exclusive items (e.g. outfits, minis) or perhaps there could be an overflow raffle for other account bound prizes.

[PvP] Healing/Bunker Build

Looking for input on a build I’m going to try out later tonight. Here is the build currently.

Looking for input on the final utility slot, 2 remaining trait points, and possibly sigil/rune/amulet choice. Though I’m pretty happy with Monk runes for the outgoing heal effectiveness synergy with Phantasmal Healing minor trait and the Magi amulet choice was to boost crit % due to sigil choice.

Ideally the build would be a point holder with team share regen, able to easily keep a point capped (avoiding stealth utilities for this reason). Most likely only for sPvP just as an interesting alternative playstyle.

Any ideas? Feel free to share alternative builds

Underwater City/ Dungeon?

smilango.5960

UW combat mechanics would require a large overhaul before we see anything like this. At the moment, many professions are dwarfed due to >50% utility skills not working in water (thieves and mesmers spring to mind).

It’s sad because it really could be an amazing part of the game…I always though an UW dungeon where you start at the surface and gradually submerge through levels would be awesome. Add in a breath timer (or a timer for say water toxicity levels) where you have to find small air/land pockets.

Or a full water map with a Leviathan world boss?

I love the clock tower jumping puzzle but last year was really annoyed with the reward chest only offering 3 sets of gauntlets, non-unique skins, can’t be salvaged, forged, or sold to a vendor?!

It seemed like the chest was changed last minute and was kind of a kick in the teeth (as compared to the rewards from the previous year). Just wondering if we can hope for more this year…even just allow us to salvage/forge them…I had to destroy so many after the event!

Proposal Overview:
Guild Contract Board

Goal of Proposal:
Allow members of a guild to post contracts that members can accept to complete for them. For instance, a lot of players don’t have as much time as others to play each day but still have certain goals. The player could set “acquire 60 AC tokens” with a reward of 2g (or whatever they decided to post) which another player could complete for them. The dungeon tokens would go to the player, all other remaining drops would be retained by the dungeon runner (and it would not count as their daily path completion). In this regard, it would be a more official method of selling paths to players avoiding risk of instance owner kicks.

Contracts could also be for gathering/farming materials, completing jumping puzzles – does not reward account AP to poster (chest contents are sent to the contractor on completion), crafting gated items i.e. Mithrillium could be posted if the contractor has unlocked at least one 450 ascended craft.

What problem are you trying to solve with your proposal
The guild menu would include a new tab for players similar to a simplified version of the trading post UI. The panel would be split into post/accept contracts with searchable tabs for particular contractual areas (Crafting/Dungeons/Open World).

The post panel would allow players to not only select their mission but what day it was to be completed with 7 days allowance. E.g. a guild member will be away for the weekend but still wants to collect CoE dungeon tokens can post contracts for all 3 paths on Saturday and Sunday.

How does your proposal work in regard in relation to the current design of GW2
The trading post UI could be adopted, with the addition of a calendar system for posting dated contracts. A new achievements section could be included for Guild Assistance. The complication would be with verifying daily objectives were permitted on and transferable to the linked accounts.
Associated Risks

What risks or problems can you foresee with this proposal which you would like to have assistance on from other members of the CDI
The risks associated would be where the line is drawn on what can be contracted out to other players. Dungeon paths are already sold, ascended crafting materials can be crafted by other players through the exchange of materials and some silver, allowing people to pay for T6 blood collectors is essentially the same to buying them off the trading post, however, allowing other players to complete ‘achievements’ is an area open to debate. An example would be map completion, some people really enjoy doing this on multiple alts whereas others don’t. Should this be something that only the player can complete? Do they need to have completed it once before you can contract it again?

Also, how are contracts assigned? Is it simply a first-come basis where someone can grab all the contracts they want for the next 4 hours and no other guildie can take them on? Or do we limit the amount, if so by how many? An example here would be if there are 4 posts for “Contract: Arah P2 for Xg” should a player be able to take all of those contracts at once?

I actually think the drop rate was set similar to the previous ascended recipes – however, those were far easier to obtain as the gifts dropped across the whole patch not just one part of it.

At this point I’d rather they put the skin on the gem store and be done with it. I’d rather grind out 60g for gems through other means than repeatedly farming tickets to kill Halmi over and over again wasting time…perhaps this is our penance for last years Deadeye farmers?

Recipe: Chaos of Lyssa drop rate

in Festival of the Four Winds

Posted by: smilango.5960

smilango.5960

Whether the drop rate is bugged or not the implementation of this recipe as compared to the other two still doesn’t make sense to me – the others were obtainable through gifts that were widely available (and tradeable) meaning that people who wanted the recipes could throw 10g at buying up gifts off the TP, that others who had no use for them were selling.

Gauntlet chances have to be farmed yourself, they take much more time and gold to invest in and have a seemingly worse drop rate than the previous two. Fixing the drop rate half way through patch when people have thrown 60g at the recipe already isn’t enough.

I’m disappointed that the first back piece I actually like – since Mad Memories – has had such a terrible method of being introduced into the game. I’d say some kind of gauntlet chance refund should be given to players if they do indeed patch the drop rate – be it gold or something like 1 chance per 2 opened – though I seriously doubt this would happen.

its already close to legendary cost anyway – if you didn’t have the silk to craft it you’re looking at 95g, then 50g for the runestones…1445g for a backpiece?! plus anyone who gets it drop and is looking to sell would throw it on at a sale price the way the market is right now.

compared to the availability of the previous two ascended backpieces this is just insane.

still no response from anet…

Posted by: smilango.5960

smilango.5960

I was thinking the same as the op, why have they implemented the same rarity for this back piece from a method that is much harder to farm (chances vs gifts)?

I also don’t understand why they’re forcing players into one part of the patch to obtain this recipe – what if people don’t enjoy the gauntlet (or at least the grind of it)? I really think this recipe should be included as a drop from other parts of the Festival – Aspect Arena, Sanctum Sprint, drops from mobs in the Pavilion?

At the current method, this skin is going to be the price of half a legendary to make, it will be available to those the RNG gods favor or the 1% with more money than sense.

Please fix this – keep the monocle to gauntlet chances and put the recipe out into other parts of the Festival.
