^Zero effort for a regular WvW player – I was a little underwhlemed but its a few extra levels for me and I didnt have high hopes anyway

This is kinda odd. How would you chose a real commander of the year? People will only vote on commanders they know (the ones on the servers they play on). There is no way to compare commanders from other servers. If I only know a few commanders (not even all of them) on the 1 of the like 30 servers there are, I can’t really accurately select “the best”

Good game WSR just 5 minutes ago at FoW borderland while fighting for Redlake tower, some of your (I suppose) fellows know new tricks (hack business) about get inside tower with walls and gates intact. Was there for 30 minutes, unless he enter with the dolyak and disguise of supply pack, this member of [AoK] guild (Angel of Khaos) done dirty job by destroy my arrow card at top of tower, that same AC was suppose to aim to gate and for 10 minutes WSR couldn’t aproax.

That’s easy mode and my advice to all cheaters is to get any single player game, find “god mode” code and have your own fun. And yes I’m upset. period

I know I would say this but its really unlikely there was any “hacks”, its my old guild and I never got that vibe from anyone there, and certainly not when running in wvw – maybe someone else can shed some light on it? Its a shame we have accusations as quite a few of us grinded through the night to help keep our daytime lead up.

Im rubbish at pvp but the arena is quite a cool place to hang out – just standing around with people from other servers and watching the occasional fight break out, probably a bit more hectic there for the bigger servers.

To emphasise how bad its got its pretty much peaktime in the EU, a handful of us left playing take a camp in EB nearest our wp, set up a ram, go to resup and theres already a zerg there waiting on the camp timer and then wipe out the tower attack. It’s crappy for us but it cant be much fun for the dominating server who are just feeding off scraps after the initial reset day frenzy.

I forgot to mention the only time I wont attack someone is if they’re doing a JP, anything else is fair game.

Big lol @ experienced roamers who brag about their kills – you have a huge advantage over your average casual wvw player whichever server they play for.

I don’t know about you, I’m on Eredon Terrace, bottom rank server, and I’m having a great time playing. I don’t care how I wake up to a map with none of my color on it every day, the fun is in taking it all back against all odds. Some people are too obsessed with winnings when they should be having fun. It’s just a game, for crying out loud.

Wasnt going to respond in this thread again, im fully aware that complaining about being on a small server can sound whiney to people after a while – but I just wanted to respond to the “just have fun” comment.

Good news first – your server isnt last! and there are quite a few servers with similar ranking points to you so you will get relatively decent matchups most weeks even if your night-time coverage isnt great.

On my server (bottom of EU rankings) we are constantly losing to servers who have 5 or 6 times our score by the end of the week. We probably average 1 taggedup commander on maps during the day (not 1 per map just 1 total) they are fed up with leading smaller and smaller numbers of people to failed attempts on defended t3 towers, keeps and stonmist and dealing with subsequent criticisms from trolls in map chat. Before the league we played the servers closest to us so we would still be 2nd or 3rd every week but we werent being crushed like we are in the new league and we had fun.

Definitely not about winning – i’ve never experienced a winning week on this server and if I wanted to I wouldve transferred like some WVW guilds did a while back, its about balance as always. There isnt really an easy solution that keeps everyone happy though so gl with that Anet.

A lot of the dislikes OP describes are probably dependent on his profession andwhat he likes to do in WVW – the enemy doesnt have to play by his own self-imposed rules of engagement that suit him.

I can agree on the laughing thing especially after being steamrollered by some mega-zerg but thats just kitteny perhaps – I dont think honour comes into WVW much, its a simple kill/be killed/run away for most people.

Lol you think this is a sensible suggestion? Every server is trying to “build up a community”, please explain how this is practical for the minnow servers where the WVW guilds left long ago and many of the rest have given up on wvw after getting hammered by bigger servers every week.

Surprised there isnt more comradery in this thread, we’ve both been hammered by mega-servers (compared to us anyway) over the last few weeks – at least we have a close battle for 2nd this week.

Maybe its worse on the bigger servers but we dont really get a lot of comm. abuse – frankly we’re just grateful if anyone tags up (WSR). If you’ve spent a lot of time playing WVW, people get to know you in chat and if your making sensible decisions you should be fine.

No no, not at all – we arent “bored” at all just incredibly frustrated (DE has 6 times our score already this week, and we were 400,000 points behind last weeks winner) – we enjoyed our matchups with Vabbi and FoW, we never won a week but we were relatively closely matched and that is what makes WvW fun for the minnow servers, fighting people with different names every week makes no difference to enjoyment of WVW for us it’s all about the numbers..

Yes and no – I like the achievements as the old ones are almost impossible to finish and some sort of reward at the end of season will be nice. Really dont like the living world stuff in the merc camps – that makes those areas really messy and seems like a pretty random thing to do.

The matchups have been brutal for us the last few weeks (WSR), the winning team having 5 or 6 times the score of us for the last 2 weeks and we are heading for a battering this week too. The commanders and a lot of the players are staying away because its pretty demoralising running into such huge zergs whenever you try to take or defend something (I do accept there are different types of problems that bigger servers have).

I would much prefer a straight ladder system for all servers where the winner of the weekly matchup moves up a place and the loser moves down so that we can play servers of a similar wvw strength (vabbi and FoW for us for instance) each week and not just a week or two per season.

Disgruntled WSR’er here – another horrible match up for us (just like last week and probably next week) – getting hammered by DE who have SIX times our score at the moment. The commanders aren’t showing up as often because its hopeless trying to hold anything for the most part and the rest of the players are staying away more too.

We never used to win a weekly matchup playing servers like Vabbi and FoW but at least it was (relatively) close and we had fun.
