Question :
Will you rework fractals and the way it works ?
The 2 main issues with fractal are that they are too long (IRL constraints make it difficult to be there for a full hour sometimes) and agony resistance mechanism requires to have a specific set of ascended gear only for fractals (for WvW agony resistance is of no use).
It would be acceptable to nerf dungeon if a fractal run becomes shorter and if agony resistance becomes account bound like magic find.
Getting this error since 22h45 UTC yesterday. I can login till character selection then can’t enter.
Adding “/clientport 80” at the end of the target in the launcher property helped a bit but i still get disconnected very often, hope it helps some of you as well.
As many other users i am excluded from the ascended armor gears. Indeed i play to have fun and crafting is not something i want to spend any time on.
The question:
Will i still be excluded from the ascended armor gears in the soon coming expansion?
Bottom line is that anyone should be able to have access to best gear without being forced to do something you don’t like (if i can buy it at TP, even expensive it is fine).
You will get killed before doing any damage in zerg fight, it is sometimes difficult to stand with both shelter and renewed focus in full PVT so shelter will still be mandatory for zerg fight.
The only skill to counter zerg burst is shelter. This skill is fine as long as you can stand enough to benefit from it.
Boosting dps solo build with this new skill sounds really weird to me. So it will be great for spvp and useless in wvw zerg meta where shelter is and will remain the way to go.
I feel something is wrong with guardian direction, it would have been more coherent to have shout instead.

Just in case, you won’t earn any point fighting here. Trolls made this place unpleasant for such a long time now than most of us don’t even try or want to post here.
What you don’t understand is that they have no intention to modify anything as guardian is fine for the dev team.
You beleive they are talking to us but it’s not the case, we are having these discussions since launch and kind and productive feedback has been given the way they requested it with the result we know …
Make your own expereience but don’t ask long time users like me to play this fake discussion game.
Guardian profession which is an effective profession in nearly all if not all content.
Extremely irritating to read that from a dev when we all now that all we do war do it better.
Efficient class maybe but why bother when war do everything better and not pigeon holed in one build.
Making the dev team understand the guardian community feeling about their profession is a lost cause. You don’t even care to read our feedback …
Virtues are one of the thing among others (aegis, healing power scaling, symbols, conditions) that require full redesign. They are ridiculously underpowered comparing to war skills/traits.
People don’t underestimate healing power, other stats just have more value in wvw. Don’t get this wrong, many players would love to play full healing power in wvw (including me) but with the current wvw zerg meta, poor healing power scaling (except dodge heal) and static symbol gameplay we almost all ended to the conclusion that other stats have more value in wvw and that just a few healing power is enough.
With time you might end to this conclusion as well.
Anyway if you enjoy this build don’t bother and enjoy your guardian !
Useless in WvW and very little value compared to other support builds. Any stat is better than healing power, it has too little value at the moment to be worth it.
It is sad but true, i have a cleric stuff too … but it will remain in my bank till anet give some value to healing power.
Yep i confirm almost useless in WvW, symbols and spirit bow gameplay is too static to be of any use in WvW plus skills doesn’t scale enough with healing power to be worth it even at 2200 healing power. The only thing that scale well is the dodge heal.
This is exactly the feedback we gave to anet, healing power is almost useless because underpowered and nothing except dodge scale enough with it.
Anyway i would love to use this build again but in the current state it has very little value.
As i said we tried to get heard since release without success, i don’t see this changing anytime soon.
They will do their pointless sword and dps update and put to trash all our feedback thanking us for the great and interesting discusion in this thread at the same time.
Forget the sword thing and deal with the guardian core issues first:
- We should be the best at tanking, we are not
- We have both less mobility and less cc than war
- Heal power stuff is pointless as nothing scale enough with it for the stats you lose.
- Aegis need redesign as it is most often inefficient with the amount of multiple hit skills.
- Symbol concept and traits need redisign from a wvw point of view. We have many traits about it for just few weapons using them. It is really hard to use in wvw because (too static, easy to dodge, …))
Please take care of the guardian core issues before anything else, we have been waiting (and reporting) long enough for these core issues to be dealt with.
1-REDESIGN AEGIS ! to be more efficient on mutiple hit attacks
2-GIVE LOVE TO HEALING POWER scaling and skill that use it.
3- GIVE REAL LOVE TO SUPPORT BUILD. We have the feeling that warrior do anything at least as good as us, please make gardian better than warrior in something (support seems logic)
4-REDESIGN mace to be more usefull (where is the promised increased damage btw ?)
I will share my experience as guardian healer too.
First those thinking such build is useless and bring too small numbers don’t know this game or at least they ignored this part of the game.
When you play in group a guardian fully specced to heal makes the difference, it is as simple as using your tome of courage for the first impact and spam your nearly 3k AOE heal skill1. The elite skill is just crazy when full heal specced.
As for the max healing power you can go above 2.4k healing power with a tactical banner/signet of mercy/25 stack of sigil of life/healing power food.

- First i go 30 in honor for the altruistic healing (almost 5k self heal with staff 4), it makes you also great at tanking which is great for a heal build.
- I use the 20% CD reduction on 2 handed weapons instead of the AOE heal. Get me right i find it great too but in a group fight it makes no difference if opponents are bursting so i prefer CD reduction on the significant staff 4 heal and other tools it provides (shout CD reduction and large symbol for the 2 others).
- last but not least 0 point in virtue ! I use the 10 remaining point in in zeal to get 20%CD reduction for the bow of truth utility i use. This utility provide a more than 4k AOE heal in a short time so it is an interesting burst heal for sure.
- 6 x Rune of dwayna
- healing power food
So the build i use is a bit more focused on instant/strong heals and less focused on boons but the spirit is the same.
What utility skills are you using (it seems you use shoots but you don’t take the CD reduction) ?
It’s surprising to see that some players still not get the point about WvW. GvG should never happen in WvW at best it is tolerated with some condition (empty map, no queue, off peak hours).
Organizing GvG outside the EB JP is just contributing to spread bad mood everywhere.
You should better spend your energy spamming ANet to really implement a GvG.
GvG during prime is disrespectful and should always be interrupted.
You want GvG go to EB JP and stop bothering others or coming here crying that you got your GvG interrupted as it is legitimate and well deserved.
You don’t bother to organize your GvG at the right place and/or right time then it is legitimate that we don’t care about interrupting your GvG. Don’t expect any respect when you don’t show any.
@ MN and GD, Thanks for not doing GvG anymore in Borderland or EB. ANet gave us a separated Jumping Puzzle map on EB so please do your GvG inside and do not prevent others from playing WvW.

No one on any server care about what is said here because what is said here never represented what really happens.

Yeah, I like GvG, we all like GvG, ZDs likes it, Fanfaron likes it, and especially GvG against VS guilds (look at the videos of our GvG against WL).

25-30 players of fighting side and 70+ spectators of your server – very annoying thing that causes skill lag and delay (poor Fanfaron lags like hell last time). Until you cannot sort this thing out – no one will fight against you. There is no need of this stylish pictures and pretty words. The only thing that needs your attention is an organization and something that will stop the whole population of your zombie server from coming to the blue icons on the map.
Patronizing others is for sure the best way to organize GvG …….
I am on the way to gather required resources to craft a volcanus however i wonder if i would need to be Chef 400 to craft the Vial of Liquid Flame or if i could make it crafted by a guildy.
Is it mandatory to be Chef 400 to get this item or could i just gather the resources and send them to a guildy to get it crafted(with the 10g for the recipe) ?
