It’s always funny to me when people try to brag about being eSports pros in GW2. Nobody gives a kitten.

Hi,
For those that dont know me let me attach some credibility to my name for a moment. I was on team ASAP Zerg, semi-pro esport team. Long time pvper and necro player. Just wanted to clarify that scourge is indeed too strong. The people defending it have no clue what they are saying. Im guessing they are going to nerf the burn damage. You press buttons and things just die when playing the scourge.
Every class presses buttons to make things die. Credibility comes natural, if the circumstances permit, by that statement you only show that your opinion is not any bit more important than from anybody else on this forum.
I would fire Colin Johanson…
People will learn to stay out of the shades area, use their superior mobility and/or kill us from afar. We’ll stop being OP in PvP the minute they learn how to manage the spec’.
But a thiefs condi bomb with infinite evades are fine am i right ?
mesmer Burst bomb with all those Invis spam is also fine huh ?
Warriors being freaking unkillable Juggernauts while still can take down majority of your HP in seconds is also fine ?
you necro haters disgust me…..
Sure nerf scourge dmg… but then when we gonna get 2x immune 5000 blocks and mobility that sends us through half the kitten zone so we can escape and some invis ?
like you know… those stuff that every other god kitten kittening class have……
Stop whining Necro is finaly good in 1 freaking thing without being babysitted by a team and can hold his own……
if they nerf the dmg too much without compensating it will be trash tier again without teammate help…

Necros are usually bad, so when they are middleground people cry that they are OP… That’s one of the reasons we can’t have nice things.
1v5? If left alone? wtf does that even mean lol. Scourge is definitely strong but it will have a ton of trouble even in a 1v2, let’s not be ridiculous now.
No.
ANet, please keep the internal cooldown to at least 3 seconds. I love the implementation you did for most of the 2nd expansion specialization where “you lose something to gain something” this makes the specializations feel like is a real trade-off, instead of just pure power creep.
Play video game is not about getting everything you want, it’s about making the optimal decision with the constraints of the system.

- Guardian should’ve been given monk\paragon
- Mesmer should’ve been given spellbreaker. (not warrior)
- Ranger should’ve been given deadeye. (not thief)
- Thief should’ve been given assassin. (complete with “You move like a dwarf!”)
- Revenant should’ve been given ritualist.
I think it has a 2-3 second period before you can use the portal for the “first time”, or at least so it seems from the “press f to interact interact” popup. Also i think the duration is around 6 seconds, before it disappears.
Lead Devs be like:
YOU get infinite mobility/blocks/immunes/Invis
and YOU get infinite mobility/blocks/immunes/Invis
and YOU get infinite mobility/blocks/immunes/Invis
and YOU get infinite mobility/blocks/immunes/Invis
and YOU get infinite mobility/blocks/immunes/Invis

Necros that say “just adapt” is why we are in this situation 5years later…

Minions are independent of character stat’s. This allows them to do consistent dps whether the player uses a power build, condi build, or anything else.
If your minions are not doing enough damage, don’t use them. That may sound harsh but minions draw aggro in PvE reducing your incoming damage so they cannot out-dps all other Necromancer builds.
This is actually false. Minions inherit only three stats directly from the Necromancer: Condition Damage, Condition Duration, and Boon Duration. This is why Lich was so good for Condition-based builds in PvE for a while; Jagged Horrors would apply bleeds that were directly influenced by your stats.

or reaper needs to change to an ACTUAL POWER SPEC.
Creative raid builds hah. Joke of the week.
i don’t want to bloat the general discussion with all the wrong you did and how you ruined the entire necro as a whole…
so just check the necro forums……..and see for yourself…

WoW, Anet you really screwed up this one didn’t you, Like 5 seconds of shroud IF it doesn’t get ripped right away. Please explain to me how in WvW Necros get stabs now, and as a power necro why would you take my DPS state away?!?! Whoever thought of this needs to be fired right away, because clearly, THEY’RE STUPID!
So shroud gets nerfed right before releasing an expansion pack spec that forgoes the shroud mechanic completely? What a coincidence!
Honestly, I don’t think it was planned obsolescence. I just think the designers aren’t good at their jobs.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
Shroud ends faster, and you have to wait longer to use it again…yea thanks anet.
Considering a necro/reaper drops like a fly without their shroud, this is an AWFUL change. +180 vitality is barely anything compared to how helpful the reduced decay on shroud was. :/
This wasn’t a balance patch, it was a nerf everything patch.
They actually nerfed one of alternatives:
Spectral Mastery: Duration increase has been reduced from 50% to 20%.
Yeah…this is the most comical part. Their “rationale” was that it was too strong compared to the other options, but then they raise the base time of spectrals and nerf the trait they said wasn’t good enough. /smh
Overall, I’m glad because raising the base time of spectrals is better, but it just shows the dumb logic used in their “rationales”. On top of that, it’s going to make the new vital persistence even MORE required if you go with soul reaping because fear and spectral utilities won’t be big parts of scourge build. The extra vitality will probably scale well with barrier and be necessary for scourge due to the lack of Shroud.
Nevertheless, for PvP, I can see a full spectral necro build working fairly well now. Lich is probably going to make a comeback since it’s 20 seconds and the LF building potential is huge with spectral grasp and armor. Even though the cooldown is longer on grasp, you will have a higher percentage chance of it hitting and thus getting more bang for your buck…just in LF generation.
Disclaimer: This is strictly my theory based on no testing yet.
1. You get to span boons! Erm..well one boon if we’re talking serious spam. But it’s might, yay! Not like anyone before you did that…only better (“there is no warr, there is no warr, there is no warr!”)
2. More boon corrupts and condi cleanses! Cause we all know that’s cornerstone of a raid support, not let’s say…damage buffs and strong heals!
3. kittenty sPvP – even less sustain, but more focus from enemy – no scourge = no barrier and no boon corrupts+condi cleanses, plus he’s easier to kill then ever!
4. Raids – you’re not welcomed! So far all wings are getting cleared just fine without any barriers. Not a lot of boons on bosses to corrupt either and condi cleansing gets handled just fine by current healers. No reason to take scourge whatsoever when druid fills all the bills for raid healer. Condi damage? Just about everyone and their dog has a good condi build for raid dps…well, save rev, but let’s not speak ill of the dead…
5. New type of utility – punishments! Nice one a-net, now we 100% won’t get any cool rune interactions. Reaper had shouts – that had interactions. Chronomancer got wells, which introduced necro to so badly needed quickness (rune of the chronomancer) for some super fun builds. Not this time suckers!
6. Zero unique buffs/functionality save barrier. Guess who can do your job only better? Hint: a lot of ppl. Unless they need barrier badly. So, seen anyone today who needed barrier badly?
7. No combo play. Remember reaper’s ice field, whirl & leap finishers? Forget that on scourge. You get drumroll one dark combo field. Yay!
8. You get to own hordes of enemies with cripple! The most fearsome condition of all will accompany you on just about any skillcast, fear the cripple!

Ditching shroud should have been a way to add mobility, blocks, invulnerability, and other things that scale with being focused.
Why?
We already have the second lif… oh…right…
Villains like Scarlet and Caudecus are much more interesting than the Elder Dragons. Because the dragons are giant forces of nature, they lack personality.
i am watching to thee other elite specs again and again and cannot understand why anet dont see by themself, that scourge is trash. as nec since gw2 release, it is exhausting to get punished by anet patch by patch all the years.
every one of the new nec skills are REALLY punishment skills. punishment against every one who is playing nec.
Well, I took a closer look at our heal skill:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sand_Flare
Only 4k heal + barrier and convert 1 boon into torment + cripple…
meanwhile Warrior’s new heal:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Natural_Healing
A whopping 12k heal, 7 boons & 7 condi’s removed..
Even warrior’s heal can counter our heal in 2 ways: either no boons to corrupt or easy condi removal..
Yeah, shafted
