As long as the result isn’t to just make all armor cover everything up. I want my skimpy armor/outfits. There should be options for both those who like skimpy and those who want a more covered look. Medium armor in particular is terrible when it comes to skimpy armors. Please Anet, more skimpy medium and heavy armors please.

At HoT launch, the devs said that they wanted Reaper to be a slow moving “Jason-esque” type of monster that did a lot of damage when they got in range. Mobile classes do the same, if not more damage than Reaper. That should change.

Its fairly common knowledge and, atleast in my opinion, incredibly sensible for Reaper to recieve changes so it is viable as a power spec instead of being a Chill Whirl based Condi.

But what would be on your wish list for these changes?

My first would be a trait like Reapers Presence – Nearby Foes take additional Damage, this is doubled for damage done by the Reaper.

Give the Reaper a unique buff that gives it a reason to be in High end Content.

Sigh, people freaking out about these low numbers and unimportant changes to food.
If your build relies on buff-food then it is a bad build.
Buff-Food should always be treatened as addition not as mandatory.

Hahahaha. Have fun finding a raid group without using buff food.

Scourge nerfed before it arrives.

So scourge is a major condition spec for our elite specialization.

It mainly , corrupts boons (which with a nerf to boon duration means less boons to corrupt)
It mainly does torment and a bit of fire/bleed damage (condis and thier duration are being nerfed.)
It mainly does barrier (Barrier I don’t have great hopes for anyhow as it just temporarily gives you health-not a block.)

So from what I can see it is all being nerfed, prior to Scourge arriving. LOL

For the record, I don’t mind condi nerfs as I prefer to play power but lol… ironic

Deathly Chill Nerf

Here is the source (hop to 1:50 where he talks about the Scourge torment + burning elite, he will mention the nerf there):
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/163637673

Personally I don’t like this approach at all and I would feel a kitteneated as a reaper. I’ve heard mention where people say that this might just be an intermediate step from Anet before they perform a reaper overhaul that is a bit more complete, but based on my experience from previous years I doubt that will happen (remember all the bugged minions for how many years?)

I am not too bothered about the idea of making the reaper power based, and the scourge condi based, but then why not replace the reaper elite with something power specs can use instead of simply nerfing it, rendering it useless and thereby forcing people into a fixed build which goes against this whole build diversity thing they advertised during the announcement video.

Deathly Chill is already scaled to one stack of bleeding in sPvP… This video is in the sPvP training area. Thus, the necro in the video will be shackled by sPvP balance.

No need to lose our minds yet. :P

So here is my question.

Obviously the stat changes are a direct result of Arena Net’s mistake in the last balance and now that I have spent a few hundred gold to convert several toons from power to condi (thank god I didn’t do all of them). Since arena net is making a change that impacts so many people and it was their miscalculations I don’t feel I should be financially responsible for this.

What will Arena Net do to compensate people for their time and effort wasted. Put simply my time is worth money, I spent that money because of balance changed that you made in error and ALL people and business in life are held accountable

My suggestion is a free stat change item for sets of gear changed to be able to change them back. Yes its a lot of data, yes it will probably require work on Anets part but I swapped over 4 sets and between freshwater pearls, and black diamonds I want compensation.

oh and I would really like a response its too often that I have gotten no response from Arena Net when I have a question that they don’t care for.

So raids will be 16% harder… Ty for killing my motivation. Just made 6th viper set, so that when i do raid I would be fully geared nope.

Also with the addition of power precision ferocity AND condi damage gear, ty for combining that with viper. It’s a kill to my gear, as that Grievers gear (of what the name is) is new meta… Ty Anet.

So in conclusion: 100% condi duration (clearly meant to be achieved by lots of classes) is killed… ty so much anet. And you think power has just as good food? Power has some things that are really strong for it (like decreased stun duration) wich is useless for most condi. This change is just a overreaction to the current raid status. (and making raids actually worse).

Raids are balanced around 100% condi duration. Nerfing 16% condi duration (8% damage) means raids will take 8% longer/harder to do. Ty so much… Raid are even more elitist now. And guess what power ele will be risen again. ‘LFG lf 7 ele dps slots’. Bad job anet. Power food generally is better. Condi has only condition damage and condi duration.

Legendary weapons can be hidden now!
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.

Scourge being good in raids will really depend on whether or not the class is able to put out competitive DPS at the same time as providing these mediocre buffs.

Yeah, I don’t see why they have to nerf an existing elite just to prop up the new one. Thought this was horizontal progression and not power creep.

Warrior sounds like it will get a hard counter to condi and some ranged magic, if I understand correctly, and ele might have power damage with the sword. There is some interesting stuff in the new elite traits.

I wish they would rework the combo system, though. It is too simplistic and its effects are minor for something that is supposed to be planned and coordinated by groups.

People been saying that since very start of the game back in 2012. Nothing haven’t been done too much since then sadly.

Everyone complains Necro brings nothing to team, Anet gives support skills, Everyone riots.

Remember when blood magic rework was going to be the support skillset to fix necro group utility?

We’re not rioting because they’re adding a support subclass. We’re rioting because we have zero faith it will be any good.

And in 2017. We still have terrible Blood Magic traits that benefits …you guess it… No one…absolutely no one…….(sigh)

Agree with OriOri, this is more or less a necromancer

Oh, and necro did have that one mark skill that summon minions, its from the Lich Form skill number 4 (Mark of Horror)
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mark_of_Horror

And yet, I think a new “permanent” summoning profession that are not based on undead is nice (If only mesmer illusion were permanent and can follow us around)

That’s pretty similar to Necro with an updated staff skill set honestly. What you are describing are essentially magic based traps, and thats pretty good description of Necro’s marks already. Plus Necro can summon minions. Really biggest difference is that Necro doesn’t have any marks that summon minions, and he doesn’t use his staff physically.

[Vid] Please nerf deathly chill

in Necromancer

Posted by: EremiteAngel.9765

EremiteAngel.9765

I would argue that Deathly Chill be kept as it is in the current meta.

My reason is simple. It promotes extreme build diversity.

When you have a strong trait capable of ensuring you are able to compete against most enemies, you have the freedom to customize the rest of your build and are no longer pigeonholed into one or two builds.

Is the trait over-tuned though. No. Not really. Mesmers, Thieves, Warriors, Rangers, and now Revenants are all equally capable of condi bursting with loads of covering condi for a long while now and with even more mobility and survivability than a necro.

For once, I feel like any build that I like playing to suit my play-style is competitive on my necro. I only need to take that one trait and the rest could be anything I like. Even the curses trait line isn’t necessary anymore for a condi build. I could pair spite with Bm. Dm with bm. Soul reaping with dm. And so on.

I don’t know about u guys but I have been very excited about this diversity available to us now.

You seem to think making reaper condi more reasonable will nerf their survivability.

More reasonable? How so? The reason condi mesmers and thieves are thriving and remain at the top of the food chain is because of the insane survival they gain through condi stat gear paired with all the defensive tools they have. So basically they have comparable damage to necros without any of their shortcomings, right now deathly chill is giving necro a edge damage wise and it’s warranted considering they are simply HP sponges and it will go down faster than any semi competent mesmer or thief. So nerfing deathly chill will just revert necro back to a kitten and crippled thief/mesmer, the only reason to play it would be for epi bombs and boon corrupt, that’s just stupid.

A necro crushing in small scale requires good teamwork and peel from allies

Lmfao, no.

And how you proceeded to talk about durability when you end up with one of the tankiest stat distributions in the game (Dire/TB) and the highest base health and a second health pool with the best cleanses against what’s already a condi meta is just laughable.

The DC change in (WvW), much like everything else condition-based in general on top of that, is completely and totally overtuned.

Please tell me how having 50k hp (base hp and shroud) is better than having blocks or invulns? Condi mesmers and thieves can match the same tanky stats than necros except for a slightly lower base HP. You can completely negate a burst on a thief and mesmers with good timing, you can’t do that on a necro outside of dodging and trust me it doesn’t matter all the HP you can slot is not gonna save your kitten.

Necros will still be the first target in any fight, but before this change it was because they were the easiest to lock down, now it’s still because of that but it is also because they can legit mess things up if left to their own devices. This is probably the best condi necro has been since they changes to chill dmg.
