Yea, the last two patches haven’t had wallpapers for some reason I miss getting some new art for my desktop!
I’d like to throw my vote for making this feature a reality. Sometimes an idea sounds good when you first make the character, but then, it just doesn’t work. Personally having leveled 4 characters I’m not keen to level another, of the same profession, just so I can choose a different race.
Treeline, if that’s the case, that would actually give her a lot more credit as a “major” villain. I hope you’re right, but if you are, they need to get to the point already! Really like your analysis though, thanks for that!
Ah man, I was really looking forward to having this fixed. You know, it’s only been since beta…>.>
According to one of the Devs they didn’t have the reactor bug on their testing, it was something that was only introduced when it was pushed to the live servers.
On topic, that seems to be an oversight on that fractal + instability. Please fix, thanks
I agree, that Scarlet is not an interesting character and I’m ready for them to move on to other stories. However…the problem is that now they are stuck with her until the “story arc” finishes. It’s already been written; code has been coded, and plans in motion that can’t be stopped. As much as the player base dislikes this character we are stuck with her until ArenaNet works through the content they have planned for her.
It had better be one kitten of an ending to make up for this though! lol
Yea, I noticed that too. Hopefully it’s just an oversite! I love me some GW2 wallpapers.
Alesthes.4287Particularly after you asked in this thread for questions, you received an extremely detailed and well-thought list of issues that then you pretty much ignored in the video…
And that right there is my problem. If they want to put out video tutorials talking about the pros of the profession that’s fine, but don’t come to the community and ask for tips, tricks, builds, concerns, comments, etc. Honestly, IMO, the video was insulting to the Ele community and a giant waste of time for existing players. Next time bill the live stream as an introduction to the profession and there won’t be so much rage.
Where can you read what they actually did with this hotfix? All I see is ‘we fixed lots of bugs’.
You can’t since Anet doesn’t like to tell us what bugs they actually fixed. Just have to wait for the community to figure out what they did.
That’s correct since it should be a Projectile Finisher, not a Blast Finisher.
Starting a Saturday March 2nd @2:00 PM PST I’ll be live streaming a new project and I need the communities help. Here’s how this works: you, the community, will have the chance to determine everything about a character that I will play. Want me to be an asuran Guardian from the college of Dynamics with a pink afro? Maybe a blue charr ranger with the most unique pet in the game? Want me to level in a particular zone? Crafting? What weapons will I use? You the community will decide.
Head on over to www.twitch.tv/guildwarsinsider tomorrow and make your voice heard!
Just throwing my name in here as well. I’d love to see these tracks released as they are fit so well with the season! Whoever is making these events tracks is doing a fantastic job!
would Mesmers be over powered if illusions persisted until out of combat?
in Mesmer

I would agree with Agent Noun and Voodoo Tina – shatter really is the key to playing your Mesmer effectively. If you spec and trait right you will have clones and phantasms available at all times. Just shatter whenever Mind Wrack is off cool-down and you’ll do a lot better.

Correct, SOPA and PIPA have not passed at this time, however, they are not dead by any stretch. Also, I would love to see this updated as people being able to make videos of the game, in a professional capacity, is just good for the community.
One aspect of the personal story that bothered me was this: it had been mentioned before launch that the story would revolve around bringing Destiny’s Edge back together, however, after you join your order you never hear from your mentor again. The only interaction that I’ve seen (haven’t fully finished the story yet, just did the battle for fort trinity last night) is through the dungeons and even then none of the characters have a desire to reconcile. I can only imagine at this point if DE comes together it’ll be a huge “huh?” moment on my part.
Actually your story is to bring back Destiny’s Edge. However all of this takes place in the dungeons story mode ( try doing them in order of levels).
Yea, I have been slowly working my way through them, but so far, no one wants to work together (done up through Sorrow’s Embrace). I still enjoy the story though, just wasn’t what I was expecting.
Love it! That would also put some demand for all that food in my inventory that won’t sell on the TP.
What weapons/utility/elite are you using and how are you traits set?
Scepter/Torch for the blast plus lots of clones.
Scepter/Sword for troll tanking
Sword/Pistol because it’s awesome
Sword/Focus for speed boost, flinging mobs around, and the defensive phantasm
Yea…I carry everything. My poor inventory
I’ve used mantras almost exclusively and there are very good situations in which to utilize them. The joy of mantras is that they can be cast in the middle of anything else. Dodge roll, cast a mantra, moa morph, use daze to make sure your target doesn’t move. Dazed, use the stun break to get out of it…the list goes on.

Not OP but awesome when it works. Really useful on boss fights to prevent that massive attack from landing.
Perhaps adding the expected sell fee right next to the listing fee would be in order? So it would display right away that the listing fee is 5c, sale fee is 10c, and the total fees = 15c for example. Or players can just pay attention
My rule of thumb has been to sell items at a 20% mark up. That way the item is out in the world and makes a little more money than just selling to the vendor. However, people selling that item at 1c above the vendor causes my item to take a substantial amount of time to sell.
That being said if it’s less than 1s to the vendor, I just salvage it for the mats. More than a silver I’ll check the TP and see if it’s worth selling, and if it is, then it goes up. If not, off to the vendor with you!
I just wish players would pay attention to the fees. It’s very frustrating trying to sell an item only to see 30 more listed at the 1c above the vendor price. I know the system is young, but people please remember that 15% fee! lol
I found during the beta weekends that I had to farm a good portion, however, now that the game is live I haven’t had to farm at all. Here are my suggestions:
1) Do your personal story on the level that it indicates
2) 100% the starter zone for your race
3) Complete every event that you see. Hearts will always be there so do the events when you see them.
4) Craft, there is a significant amount of XP to be earned in crafting
Doing that resulted in me being either ahead of the curve, or right where I should have been.
The site is wonderful, but their build calculator is still from BWE3 Other than that the site is a great help.
I really like that this includes the locations of jumping puzzles! Will make getting those achievements a little easier. I am confused though about the treasure chests? Are those for events which reword chests?
Twilight Arbor story mode has an issue in which the way points will not appear after you defeat the boss in question. They do appear eventually , we found, after we had reached the last fight with Faolain, but there was a lot of running back through the whole dungeon.
