How come we no longer have a choice of game install location with the new launcher? Every game lets you have this choice.

I so feel like the op too. The game was so much fun at launch. But as with all modern mmo’s they get real grindy because of all the crap that gets added to keep people playing. HOT was the turning point for me. I can’t stand the specializations and the hero points/Masteries grinding. I just wish they would come up with new races and classes. Or instead of specializations gives us a duel profession’s like in GW1.

IMO it is worth it and a better game than GW2 as it is now. GW2 was a better game before all the hero points/Masteries grind it has turned into.

Freaking HOT was bad because of the map navigation. Some people call that challenging others say its annoying. It comes down to what the person thinks it means. I myself like challenging content not bad map design which HOT was to me. I hated the game everytime i went on that map. And it changed the players attitude toward each other to be more selfish. GW2 was a really great game with a equally great community and HOT even changed that.

So POF IS really HOT in disguise. So instead of the mushroom hopping and gliding they gives us mounts to drool over. Mounts will need masteries which you will spend most of your time grinding so you can navigate the new zones just like you did in HOT.

Most of what i’m hearing from people is 50/50. Some give the expansion a thumbs up others refuse to buy it until they can see for themselves that this is not HOT in disguise. HOT was really that bad to alot of people. I hope ArenaNet knows this and plans to prove its not.

To me the Druid spec.on the ranger was stupid. This Soulbeast sounds like a fit to the ranger. But yeah its another wait and see for me. Tried the druid thing for a week and never went back to it.

The expansion sounds really good. But after HOT many people are skeptic about it. I have been going to other gaming sites to see what people are saying about this new expansion and its 50/50 on how people feel about it. Most of the negative is because of HOT. ArenaNet has its work cut out for them if they want to prove that this will be different. I wish them luck on this. I hope they won’t be silent until the launch of the expansion and put out more info. Sure the free play time will be a start but they still need to do more.

Do we have to go through HOT content before playing the new expansion?

I have freaking 9 points and can’t spend any of them. What is Arenanets problem in creating a system that makes sense or easy to use. I swear i feel like every time they add something new they go out of there way to make it confusing.

I buy HOT and 2 days later its 50% off. I have the worse luck with this game. Arenanet hates me.

Just got the glide skill and it seems cool but do you have any pitch to it? Can you move up or down at all?

So is it true the new pets in HOT can only be had by triggering and completing events?

What do you get if you use it on a level 80 character? Are there rewards of gear that come with it?

Don’t worry about it. I tried the druid specialization, and didn’t care for it at all or considered it use full in any way for the way I play. Went back to the Ranger.

Ever since i played Kingdoms of Almur I’VE wanted to see Chakrams in other games. They are the coolest weapon I’ve seen in a game.

Are these things worth using? I can only see it if you have another max level character that you can use to bank gear to the other character. I liked the way EQ2 does it by also giving you the gear you need for that level. I’VE got a few of these things in the bank I’VE never used.

Don’t forget about the Raiders coming into the game if raids are added. They tear down a player base badly. And in this game it will be really bad.

Its such a dumb thing to let go this long. Its been like this since launch.

The fun part of the game is getting to lvl 80. Once there its just boring. This is the fault of all mmo’s. Max lvl mean’s pvp/raids or getting that legendary weapon. I loved getting my character to 80. And since i’m not an alt making guy, its over for me. I’ve tried making other character but just end up deleting them as i don’t want to go threw it all over again. I just wish they would come up with true mmo type content instead of jumping puzzles.

Are you talking about jumping puzzles? Thats not harder content. Its stupid crap brought into an mmo from consoles. Forgive me if i want to play a real mmo and not one where devs are in love with platform console games. The whole new area and its jumping puzzles are annoying and have no place in a real mmo.

Asura T2 & T3 cultural armor mix, Glyphic, Mystic or Pact weapons. If you stick with GS you will seem alot less ‘traditional’ than sword/dagger/bow/torch rangers.

As for the reason, it’s simple. in the Asura city of Rata Sum you can see a Moa trainer, and a pen housing several animals. This shows the Asura, like everyone, have a need for animals and that it not shameful to be a Ranger.

Golems can do alot of things, but they are just machines. While they can make good companions ultimately the connection with a pet is a very special one.

Would you rather have a living or non-living companion? I mean to say, would you be okay if all of your dum…er.. less prestigious family members were replaced by golems just because it was more efficient?

Being a Ranger doesn’t imply to be a full leather suit dude, like being a Necromancer doesn’t lock you to black & green. You can make out of the Ranger a techno scout. There is a couple of armors which look mordern while being suitable for a Asura Ranger. My main point goes to CoE medium armor which is extremely suited to that : close to body (so the ranger can move easily), with a Hood, thorn style, etc. HotW look a bit more primitive but with the right colors, it can make the deal too.

There is also some bow/shortbow/axe which look really modern, but it doesn’t come to my mind (Asura Engineer here ~).

Premium skins which could make your day : Zodiac medium armor, Aetherblade medium armor.

Don’t forget Magitek medium armor.

The Magitek Armor is what my Asura Ranger swears by. The head piece with the focus lens and cultural Bow skin that matches the armor is the Asura Ranger look.

I have been hearing alot of this from new players how this game seems unfriendly to them. I had the game at release so i really have no idea how it is for someone completly new to the game. My characters are either maxed or close to it. I couldn’t tell you whats changed at all.

All it takes is for me to go through this once and i never go back for more. I don’t mind a tough fight be she is just rediculous to deal with solo. And i don’t see much interesting for me in this new event.

I have to agree with this. This is the one mmo that you don’t need mounts in. What is the OP problem in getting around in this game? I just don’t get it at all.

Lol, i could never play or would want to play a PC mmo with a controller. Its this generation of gamers that are qq for this. It would be a waste of resourses to spend time trying for controller surpport too.

I’m 50+ myself. I love threads like this too. I remember when i was playing lotro the guild i was in had a few players 60+. I remember one woman in the guild who helped me lvl by doing all the quest in a zone. She was higher lvl than i was. We had teamspeak and found out she was 67 and her husband was in the guild to. I loved teaming up with them they really were wonderful people young at heart and amazing players. I won’t ever forget them. I would love to find a guild full of players like this.

Omg dumb idea. What i hated most in mmo’s with dueling is the constant duel spamming everywhere you go. Its so kitten annoying. Some morons can’t take no for an answer either. So a big no to this idea.

We get one of these topics every few weeks, whenever someone reads about a new game that has recently come out, or is coming out soon or has just been announced.

I’ve lost count of all the games players have insisted Anet have to counter with a big announcement or release (but if you can find a list of every MMO released in the last 2 years that should cover it) but they’ve never timed their releases around what other developers are doing and I see no reason they would start now.

I agree and ESO shouldn’e be on that list. That game got trashed in about every review.

I was going to mention Kingdom of Amalur and Dragons nest have them and they are really fun weapons.

Actually I agree with him, if you simply compare GW2 to other MMOs nowadays, it’s unbeatable in its core design apart from a few flaws (either being huge or minor). The foundation is too much solid for it to fall apart in a near future, I only expect the best, I just hope they speed up things a bit.

I agree to, if you look at whats out there and whats coming out, its easy to see why this game is so much better than most. And it not having a subcription is really amazing for what you get. I’ve played so many different games and non of them held me more than 6 to 7 months. I’ve been been playing this since release and have liked every update. The only other game i play alot is Neverwinter which also keeps getting better. The foundry in that game is pure greatness. It would be fun if we could have something like that here. Imagine user created quest in this game.

Lol they should add fishing and make it another way to get a precursor.
