Are there any gay charr? Are there any lesbian charr? Just curious because many players are so used to homosexuality being frowned upon in the military, many people assume the charr are against it. However in the past it was different. From the wikipedia article on homosexuality in the military.
“Throughout history, there have been several cultures which have looked favorably on homosexual behavior in the military. Perhaps the most well-known example is found in ancient Greece and Rome. Homosexual behavior was encouraged among soldiers because it was thought to increase unit cohesiveness, morale and bravery. The Sacred Band of Thebes was a military unit from 378 BCE which consisted of male lovers who were known for their effectiveness in battle. Same-sex love was also prevalent among the Samurai class in Japan and was practiced between an adult and a younger apprentice.”
sounds like you need to play dark souls
you may as well just spend real money. I mean 1 hour of work in america at minimum wage is averaged at 7.50. in 10 hours you could earn the money to buy more than 1000g
Well so you all know, this player was not discussing the movie. He was purposefully spoiling the twist to upset players. He enjoys the pain of others, so he trolls. Nothing you say can change his mind, or make him feel regret. The only thing we can do is ask that Anet remove people like this from the game.
That said, the internet is not supposed to be a “safe space.” Neither is GW2. People should be discussing conflicting opinions, current events, controversy etc. These all serve vital functions in our society and the pursuit of knowledge.
Learning the twist of a much anticipated movie and attempting the ruin the experience for others should be punished. People discuss movies, people accidentally blurt out spoilers. Each case should be judged independently.
But going from map to map just to say “x dies” and leaving should be a suspension or a ban. People have been waiting for 30 years for a good star wars movie. And force awakens is great.
All the people who are defending this action are obvious trolls and should be ignored, but to the people here who care about people other than themselves, ask arena net for a response.
are players punished for intentionally spoiling movies?
Someone was spoiling star wars in lions arch and i think they should be banned.
Edit: removed name

Basically every now and then, you see a snow boulder sitting stationary, but an invisible snow boulder will hit you and continually knock you back down the hill until you are dead.
The graphical part freezes but the hit box keeps moving and you cant see it.
I have the jumping puzzle down perfect, and I get it almost every time, but this has killed me at least 5 times in the last 15 minutes. btw if you try to wait for it to go by, you probably wasted enough time to ruin the run anyway, might as well die
After doing the event to gain access to the alters power, it will not allow you to change into a wisp. k
doing wvw and the dreamer wont stop making horse noises. is there a way for me to turn off this noise? its annoying
In the real world, intelligence gathering is a real tactic. But you can defend against that with encryption, steganography, canary traps and a litany of other defenses.
In GW2, there are NO defenses. These guys blatantly break the game and laugh opening at us in chat.
In real war, spies are captured and tortured for information and traitors are put to death.
So the things that people complain about are underhanded tactics that can’t be defended against in a practical way.
In real life, if someone in the army was deliberately wasting supplies to aid the enemy, they would be court martial-ed for treason.
If they build structures over supplies, the army would break down the structures and reuse the supplies.
The whole real life argument is completely invalid. This is not real life. It is a game of strategy and action. Spying is the lowest way of cheating in a game. At least in Vegas if you spy on a blackjack dealers hand, you get your legs broken by Al Pacino.
Spying and siege abuse in WvW is cheating plain and simple. Anet should aggresively ban people guilty of this. Sure they will buy new accounts, but at least it would make more money for Anet, and force the player to think twice or lose money for traitorous actions.
Suggestion:
If you guys dont want to devote time to make your players happy, perhaps you could give the choice to us, or maybe a few select guild leaders chosen by people to have moderator powers.
Im thinking of something more like, the actions of this patch can affect the actions of the next patch or the one after it. Not them having to make double content every patch.
Honestly, I think it would be really doable. knowing in just a couple weeks how well the playerbase performed and make the next patch or the one after it accordingly.
Do the collective player actions effect how the storyline goes?
Was it even possible to save lions arch? What about other living story parts?
Do our actions change anything at all?
I think I have an answer now.
The first 4 ranks in wvw are obtained with 1000 wxp each. lvl 5 and onward are 5000 wxp each and do not increase.
The first 4 ranks of each alt do not even add up to 1 more rank.
If you had 4 alts, 16 of they ranks they had were instead combined into 3 ranks and 1000 extra wxp and added to your main.
So adding all your WvW Ability Points and subtracting 13 is the number you should be seeing.
So, you will need to log into every character on your account that has earned WXP to have their WXP total added to your account total.
However, when I just logged on on my highest character, the WXP had already been added, also, it was far less than it should be.
Is anyone else having this problem or am I remembering the incorrect amounts?
It would be great to see a dev or mod comment on this.
If anyone lives in Bellevue, Washington, please deliver a cookie bouquet to Anet in person and include a greeting card that says “Please deal with X player. Much Love, Tarnished Coast”

One problem I see for the GM route is that WOW had GMs and every battleground was full of abusers/afkers.
What about a reporting system like this:
1. after building a certain amount of siege, the option to report siege abuse appears.
2. If enough votes hit this person, they are banned for 1/2/4/8/16/32 hours, doubling each infraction.
This would prevent throwing people out based on gear or grudges.
This would give players relief while GMs get around to dealing with the culprit.
The same could exist with upgrade trolling by having an option open if they upgrade more than 1 per day.

This is a thread to condense our concerns and brainstorm on possible solutions. Please do not complain or point fingers. Make this a positive thread for the devs to read.
What is siege trolling?
Using siege equipment to hinder the players on the current server.
How does it hinder players?
1. Burning Keep Supply by building many improper siege. This method hinders a servers ability to defend itself.
2. Placing siege to block interaction with something by obscuring clickable areas. This method frustrates players and wastes their time.
3. Dropping incorrect siege in front of a group of players to get them to waste supply while the group is attack another keep. This hinders the servers ability to attack.
What can Anet do to stop them? What can players do to stop them?
Is there a way to find a solution to this problem that won’t result in more abuse?
it’s from a few months back. I thought it was open for people to see but appearantly i had it set to private

I understand fractals have their own gear and such, which is good, to keep pve content from pvp and add a bit of pve progression into the game.
However, what I’m concerned with is the lack of a 10-man:10-boss type dungeon with a boss progression, challenges that require focus, planning and leadership.
All my friends have gone back to wow because they like that sort of thing, and truthfully I like spending time with them in Karazhan and Naxxramus. It was very happy times, meeting at my friends house, ordering pizza and setting up out laptops near each other for “raid night.”
If there were something like this, a real challenging, getting stuck on each boss kind of raid, my friends would all be back and spending money in the gem store again.
Sadly, this isnt happening with us in wow either at the moment because the subscription model is out-dated and nobody wants to pay to play anymore.
So if Devs read this section, adding this would draw back many players who actually enjoy the experience of growth in the raid style progression.
also this is the first game i’ve played where the server can seem completely dead during late hours and still say full
“Its been weeks and my friend has not been able to get in. Why is this the only MMO where ive encountered this problem?”
You haven’t seen many MMOs then. GW2 has guesting and before that had free server transfers. Server transfers with gems is better than server transfers for real world money. In the older MMOs you joined a server and your characters were stuck there forever essentially. There was no cross server communication in any way at all.
Some people also forget that when WoW was launched you had to join a queue to log on and that could take hours to clear.
I have played many MMOs. I’m well aware of the queue. We used to wait hours to play with each other but we were able to play with each other. And is that any different than the insane 6 hour queues for WvW? Queues are better than having an impossibility.
GW2 has many many ways that they are better than all those other MMOs. Thats why I play it now instead of Wow and Swtor and Aion and Warhammer and AOC. Guesting is amazing, and so are gem/gold transfers instead of real world money. It doesnt make my grievance invalid.
My friend paid around 40 dollars to not get to play with his friends. And sadly if he doesnt play with us, he doesn’t want to play at all.
Its been weeks and my friend has not been able to get in. Why is this the only MMO where ive encountered this problem?
We cant leave the server because our whole guild is here and we like the server. He wants to WvW with us so going on a different server would be a waste of time. He doesnt want to level up a character he is just going to delete when space opens up. He doesnt want to pay money to transfer into the server he wants to start on.
If anything being done to fix this problem?
This wouldnt be an issue if he could WvW with us.
Pyro, you guys really are proud of 60v10ing arent you?
Half of your guild rallies off of an upleveled thief pug.
I’m ashamed FOR you guys.
I can’t tell you how happy I was that FA gave us a challenge in TCBL last night. Pleasant surprise there BUT it was mostly due to our server being split in 2 groups and FA staying in 1 huge server zerg.
Also all of TC’s reluctance to use arrow carts while FA will drop them everywhere and flash build in the middle of a ZvZ.
They can’t challenge us. Another week of ruined wvw. There is no god.
Tarnished Coast is bored to tears. we have had 570 + ppt with nobody challanging us for weeks. WvW is the only reason I play and I’ve had a month without any real WvW happening.
Please fix. please
Having one of the achievements be in obsidian sanctum was a bad idea. Now we have players exploiting, spying, and camping jumping spots.
They had this issue when battlegrounds first came out in Wow. But they changed it so that if you log back in within so many minutes you get put back in the BG. Why cant GW2 do this? I couldnt get back in that day or today and it ruined my night. I planed on doing wvw with my guild.
Can we get a response from Anet on this? Is there any talk of this issue on your end?
That was fun. Good job, all.
My client bugged out and crashed. I got kicked out of EBG and the queue last week at this time was several hours. This is not fair. I should be able to get back in if I log in within so many minutes.
I’m so bummed ;_;
I’ve become completely addicted to WvW, however I have a few problems regarding loot.
1. I am loosing bags by playing with my team. I fight with the group against our targets and bags show up in my wake. To leave the fight to pick up bags would be selfish, but the more i support the team, the more likely i am going to die and miss all the bags.
2. I find myself scrambling to free up space in my inventory as we steam roll through enemy towers. Almost all of it is vendor trash so I have to leave the team to sell.
3. My pinky is getting sore from holding down Ctrl. I know this sounds dumb, but i would like to see lootable objects permenantly without hitting Ctrl.
So WvW is very fun, but i find there is dissonance between supporting the team and getting loot.
Although opening loot bags feels like opening a present, I feel like I’m being punished by supporting the team and having my presents taken away from me.
Lastly, I have had bad lag on WvW servers and was wondering if spawning and rolling on all those loot bags effects the server at all.
Is there anything in the works at the moment for loot bags?
Is this going to be forever?
Also if I cant sell items for a lower value than vendor value, why let players create listings below vendor value?
Kinda wish there was a sell all button cause every 2-3 items I sell, it bugs and says error attempting to sell. It will never work again until I close the trading post window and reopen it.
Can we just stick to one color? I don’t see why WvW teams change color or why your team color changes for each battleground in sPVP.
Every other game I’ve played with multiplayer always has team colors and icons based on that players perspective. Green or blue for friendly, red for enemies.
I think it would be a nice improvement if you set colors in the same way other multiplayer games did.
