The mini map is too small. We need to be able to zoom in.
As said above, the matches in ranked arena are weird, often one sided. Experienced players are mixed with people who have most likely never played pvp before.
I dont know if the ready popup is bugged or not but most of my time in the game is spent waiting for the last guy to accept the match (1st image)

Them not knowing anything may be the point. If it gets highly promoted and gets a higher amount of viewers than normal, those new viewers will have someone to relate to. Seeing popular esport shoutcasters will give newer viewers the sense that GW2 is really trying to go for it.
This game is not at the point to being viewable at the moment and no changes have been made to do so. At this point the only people that understand what is going on in matches have to actively see minimaps and the shoutcasters knowledge of what is happening in the game, this alone brings a handicap to what a fresh new viewer will be looking at due to effects.
Exactly. There are still too many visuals effects on the screen when more than 2 people are fighting. Add to that the fact that the spectator mode is mediocre with no “free” camera and any gw2 newbie will close the stream after 30s.
As for the casters on the eu side, Jebro is not really the technical type of commentator, so pairing him with someone who doesn’t know the game… leaves me sceptical.
I thought you were done with this game. How many of these threads are you going to create.
Nothing new here. Every race has the same hitbox so obviously small asura can hit as far as big norns.
People have been talking about the asura advantage since beta.

The game has enough conditions/boons.
It would be nice to start the tournament earlier tomorrow if you want people from EU to be able to watch the finals.
Unless the warrior throws his hammer immediately after he is downed, dodging and stomping before vengeance isn’t going to happen.
Then you’re doing it wrong.
Unless you kill him from 1200 range and have to get close to stomp, warrior cannot vengeance before the dodge/stomp.
This could very easily be solved by using EXISTING ingame technology to scale up Asura models ONLY WHILE IN PVP
Scalling up asura models, hell no.
Give us an option to see enemy players as human models instead.
Aren’t they already using a similar system for WvW ?
I don’t see why it would interrupt the spell you’re currently casting.
But even if they designed it that way, it is definitely not right that you have to spam a skill for it to go off while immobilized.

Immobilize is basically an interrupt.
An option to turn all the players into default human models would be nice. Would alleviate the tiny asura hidden in particle effects issue.

These features were needed.
nothing will be fixed for the qualifiers, but tournament organisers can always set specific rules, like banning dhuumfire.
Tbh, I can’t comprehend what ANET is thinking.
We are almost 1 year into the game and instead of developing competitive maps to add to the short and repetitive (because its short) map pool. (for tournaments)
They keep wasting develop time on this troll maps that have very little sense in a balance perspective and that will hardly haaaardly (unless someone is insane) be added to tournament map pool.
The sad thing is, I’m pretty sure they thought the map would be amazing for tournament play…
Its not really fun doing the same thing over and over and over and over again and again and again and again and again.
It is, if the gameplay and the game type is good enough.
We don’t need a multitude of game types, we just need the right one.

It’s because they dont show the ratings that we get so many threads like this one.
If you are talking about the percentile ranking, you rank does increase, but the arrow next to it is going down instead of going up.

I already have to wait 10mn sometimes to find a game, add 3 round tournament and it will take forever.
Do you plan on showing the leaderboard rank at the end of a tournament game instead of the spvp rank ?
Matchmaking is a bit better, but the queue time has considerably increased.
I have to wait 5 to 15mn before a game pops.
I solo queue between top700 and 90ish percentile.
I personally like it, and a lot of people seemed to enjoy it when it was released.
So no, ppl not really care bout rank.
Sadly, some people do care about rank.
It’s ok to have a rank that shows how long you have been playing the game, but it should not be the only visible achievement in PvP.
What about titles ?
Why is there only one tier for the champion titles ?
Why is the champion brawler title so ridiculously high (10k tournament wins) ? why no intermediate tiers ?
These would be more meaningful achievements than the hotjoin rank farming.
Ultimately, all that really matters is your leaderboard rank. This is what we should see at the end of a game in place of the spvp rank.
There should be an option to see enemies with human models.

Quite a few tournaments are being organized now that custom arenas are out.
It would be nice to have all the upcoming events centralized on a sticky topic in the forum.
In the long run, it would be great to have something like gw-memorial (past tournaments with results, builds etc.).

Esports games are just competitive games that have a large enough player base to attract sponsors, there’s nothing more.
I hate this class, I hate its design.
I hate its clone/phantasm mechanic. A class that relies on confusing its enemies by filling the screen with garbage has no place in PvP.
I can understand that anet wanted to recreate the annoyance of the gw1 mesmer, but how they did it was certainly not the right way.
There’s already so much going on in a team fight, so much particle effects, why would they design a class like the mesmer that adds so much “noise” to a fight.
Fighting them 1v1 is not enjoyable, even when I win, there’s nothing but frustration left. No “wow that was a close fight”, no “nice play”, just frustration.
So what are your thoughts on this class, specifically their “pet” summoning mechanic ?
for about face to work, your camera must be behind your character and no right click pressed.
/agree it’s annoying for who like to spam the keyboard like a boss.
don’t even have to spam keyboard to notice it. slight milliseconds on dodging a Mesmer shatter. if his immob hits u, you get shattered in the face then dodge when immob expires.
just to confirm – this only happens if you dodge as you get immob.
yep, this exact situation happened to me. Got immob shattered, tried to heal right after but the heal got cancelled by a dodge I did like 5s ago.
dodge queueing needs to go.
It’s already been said that there may be a way to get custom arenas outside of paying for them with gems, not now though (seeing as they need their investment into programming them return).

They don’t have to touch the ratings, they just need to remove from the leaderboard inactive players.
They can show them again when these players start playing again.
Only issue for me is the “daily unique maps played”.
I only do tournaments.

So you can cancel a skill by stowing your weapons, but some skills go off even when you cancel them.
That’s the case for dragon’s tooth, making it an almost instant skill (instead of 1s cast).
What other skills work (bug ?) that way ?
edit: on the other hand, skills like shatterstone are not “stow cancelable”

We should be able to zoom-out more when following a player.
If you don’t want to make a free camera, we should at least be able to move the camera around the eyes.
