I’m not complaining for being on the bottom of the leaderboards, my complaint here is that we don’t have anyone to fight, the best we can do right now is a zerg of 10 ppl, capture EB keep and lose it after the IR time is gone. This ain’t a matter of being on the bottom, this is a matter of never being able to get out of it.
You clearly don’t understand the situation. Our problem isn’t that we have low pop, the problem is that we don’t have any pop at all.
I don’t know if there’s any ET here, but they are generally worse, and I say that based in the fact that I myself suck and still get to spike some of them. We’ve won lots of battles against them being low on numbers even outnumbered by far. This ain’t a simple matter of “you’ll win next round”. We’ve been losing for 2 consecutive rounds because they simply have players in every map and take everything while there’s no one defending. People in AR don’t play WvW, and when they do, they see how pointless it is to do it alone and leave.
Not only that, but for 4 consecutive weeks we’ve been playing with a matchup where at least one server stomp the others, the only week this didn’t happen is this current week where kain and ET are competing against each other while we’re being their food.

Dude… Stay on that situation for months like ET have, and then you come talk to me… Other than that, you’re just crying with your belly full.
lol
I’m sorry but, what? If you suffered from this, then you must understand. If you’re responsible for paying guilds to play for you, congratulations, if not, then you’re just being an a**hole just because now you got your problem solved with money. I’m talking here about real solutions so that such problems won’t persist. I’m sure AR and other servers suffer from this now, as others did and will do in the future.
Otherwise, if you think this is something to bear with and shut up about, give me money and I’ll bring in as many guilds as we need, ok?

You guys are currently in a match up with ET and Kaineng, their numbers are not a whole lot better. At the moment you guys are probably the worst server but if you look back even two weeks it was ET. Put on your big boy pants and just keep playing, things will turn around.
The devs aren’t going to play on the lowest ranked server or any of the server’s currently getting stomped and the reason is they don’t even play WvW. At least I hope they don’t because if they do and this is how things have been for the last two years I am disappointed.

I’m gonna take a completely different take on scoring here, so my suggestion could well be a shoot for the moon.
I believe the current issues pointed out by John are true and my suggestion won’t cover the off-hour problem, but it could be adjusted to.
First WvW is, apparently a battle for resources, each keep, camp, tower are extraction point from where resources are taken for your realm. We could, based in that, work on a not-on going scoring process based on this premise.
It could be something like this: The world work on a stress point resource: Each borderland has a total resource cap of, let’s say, 500.000 points, and during a time of let’s say, 10 minutes , each building generates 10 points of resource , and these resources are carried by a dolyak or something like that to the garrison (or another building a little stronger than the garrison), or, in case it’s been captured by another realm, to it’s realm’s garrison, and every 4 hours, half of these resources are sent to the realm (become a stable point).
So let’s say a realm makes 100 points of resource in 4 hours, 50 will be sent to the realm and the realm will have “50 points” and 50 resources in the map, if again, gets 100 points, 75 will be sent, and 75 will stay, therefore having 125 stable points.
BUT! These points in this garrison are stealable! How so? another server capture this garrison and maintain it for 1 hour (independent from the 4 hours in between shipments), 1/3 of these resources are sent to their garrison so that in their next shipment they’ll have that much summed to their resources. If they end up capturing it 30 minutes after the “shipment” time they’ll prevent the previous owner of that garrison from shipping resources that “tick”. Anyway… after that 1 hour time necessary to steal the resources, the garrison returns to the original owner through an automatic event.
Eternal Battleground:
I haven’t thought anything deeper with it, so it could work just like the borderlands and send their resources to the borderlands.
My suggestion could prevent snowballing, since you can make strategies to keep stealing enemy resources, but also punish those who don’t cap since you only steal a few. This also somewhat improves problem with population since stealing can be more a matter of skill than a matter of number (I’ve seen my server winning outnumbered battles a quite a few times). This also make winning teams worry about their position since their points can be negated AND stole.

Not only that, but that the time to brainstorm isn’t now, the time now is to do a palliative action to alleviate the problem because it’s urgent in some servers.
Maybe a good start would be free transfer for low pop
Simple and straight: Devs, play for AR so you can see the dire situation imbalance is right now, to be able to put in 10 ppl top in our own BL. Right now we don’t need a long term solution, we need a short term hard first aid, so at least we can still have some “fun”. I’m sure AR isn’t the only server in this situation right now.
I feel like raids shouldn’t be dungeons with more players, like it is in WoW. It sucks, it’s completely unimersive, etc etc.
My idea is just that, for example, if it is a 15-man raid, it should be centered in 3 parties which will work alone for a phase, meet up next for a puzzle challenge and then fight the boss. Or something like this. Obviously this shouldn’t be a fixed thing, but this would be a starting model. GW2 is all about movement, platforming, strategic movements etc. We don’t want a stack and spank, we want to use our dodges, our jumps, our brains. I think nobody will be kittened if such raids would take longer to ship if it was for the sake of fixing stacking and kitten. There is a reason why Tequatl is the best PvE content GW2 have, and it’s not because it’s easy to afk in or because it’s easily soloable.
I only ask: Don’t do a one path raid. Let multiple parties run different parts of the dungeon to make it more interesting :s
Well, my suggestion was merely an example. I’m sure the devs and other players can think of better rewarding methods. Skin is a nice way indeed, but as we have been seeing lately, they’re trying to attach skins to more specific content (living world/fractals) or gems, so I wouldn’t count too much on that. Crafting material on the other hand could be a nice touch, since it’s already somewhat implemented in the personal story and works well to help new players to get into the economic system, which is, as you said, one of the focus points of GW2.
I’m sorry to break this for you, but this is a game. Tell me about a game not scripted. MMO’s only make this more apparent. We can’t have Anet creates a new jormag fight every few minutes.
I don’t think you’ve read what I wrote. Anyway, you’re using a strange argument saying that ppl are playing eotm because of rewards (which is gold/exp/karma) while saying that we need something other than loot bags.
The events doesn’t need better lootbags because they’re not there for that. Champions are there for that and they exist so that beginners have a shot at getting good loot. That’s why, in the first place, we have a world boss in each of the beginning zones, for example, so they do have a purpose. You may argue about one here or there, but not their general existence in the game. Also I see you have a whole level 80 perception, and that’s not what this thread is about, even though it would affect level 80’s in a good way.
I don’t have any deep comment on this, but I’d like to just propose one thing: Since megaserver is here and no one ended up dead, I think it’s pretty clear, no one would get hurt if the idea of worlds went to the trash bin (w/o removing servers) and create a concept of worlds being instances based on alliances. Everything would be more or less just like it already is in pve, but in wvw there wouldn’t be any server x against y and z.
Also, don’t create GvGs, please, focus on WvW. After this you can make as many GvG as you want. 10 × 10, 15 x15, w/e. Just fix WvW imbalance before that.
This post isn’t about eotm. And the farmed champions are part of events (Sometimes even being an entire event themselves.
Well, I think events shouldn’t be farmable, and Anet thinks the same way, I believe, since they are constantly nerfing farmable events, like queensdale.
I agree completely with that.
Hi. Guys, nowadays I think we have been having a problem with events: They doesn’t seem too meaningful to ppl not leveling in the area and even to those, those chained or more complex events are maybe left behind for more easy, fast events.
My suggestion: Events right now, aside from aesthetic and maybe a seller here and there, when successful doesn’t give you any meaningful reward. Only karma, a few coins and exp, which any heart or eotm can give. And the sole purpose of dynamic world events, the way I see it, is that they represent a live world where players and enviroment interact in a more intimate and transforming way. Every aspect of the game has it’s argument which makes ppl go there make something instead of going somewhere else or do something else and dynamic events only have few arguments, and the best one is that they are always close to the player, who, seeing the announcement on the top right of the screen, feels compelled to make it, since it’s already there next to him.
So what more could be made in order to make events more interesting? I have two suggestion that could be put together:
1st: A “hero of ______” buff reward which would reward the player who has it with a exp and gold boost of 5% for a single event or 10% for a completed chain of events. the “______” is the name of an area (Maguuma Jungle, Kryta, Ascalon etc) and wherever the player go inside these areas he’d carry this buff with him.
2nd: The second prize will work for wherever is in the area with a plus for whoever participated in the event and earned a silver medal in it. The prize would be a pleased NPC. This NPC would grant for whoever talks to it a gift in the form of a random food compatible with the player’s level. Also, for whoever helped in the event, it would also be granted a hero gift, which would be a box with random drop capable of dropping crafting material from common to a glob (with a low chance, obviously).
What do you think of something like that?
SOMEONE HIRE THIS GUYS, HURRY!
Agreed on the two last things you said.
I used the projected profit to calculate my sellings of rare equipments.
Legendary should stay legendary. I don’t want GW2 go as low as WoW went. I don’t have any legendaries nor ever had eny precursors and I like it the way it is. Difficult.
Will do, thanks.
What should I do with my 2 transmutation stones? I need 3 to make a charge.
Thanks. Can I put those insects in TP?
Guys, I’ve been back just a few days ago and there’s something I’m not quite understanding. What’s the point of collecting Geodes? I don’t want the plant gizmo and I don’t feel like getting that ascended nomad inscription/infusion. The only things that remains are the weapon recipes. Is that all I can do with the geodes? If so, should I stick to buying keys instead (which seems to be more profittable)?
Rytlock is missing. For me Anet has overtragedyzed this game.
Anet, bring back our Rytlock!
Hope they never make an expansion pack and they never put SAB into the game again. Farewell.
bumping just in case.
And if you dont find us in game, just send a mail and we’ll gladly answer as soon as we log in (which I do almost daily)
Hi folks, I’m here to present you with my guild, Small Packages. So I’ll tell you a little (and brief) story.
Before joining this guild I really searched for some guilds in Anvil Rock, the forums had none… ever. I finally, by accident, ended up finding it in-game and joined it. I liked the people always talkative and helping. The guild leaders actually cared about anyone, including newcomers, coursing them through dungeons etc.
It would only flourish after that…. problem is: The guildleaders left the server. It was sad and all but right now we’re under a new leadership and starting anew. So now that’s our guild:
A new guild looking for members interested in WvW and PvE, but above all else, interested in making some new friends and stop playing alone.
If you interested in joining, being newbie or experienced in the game, doesn’t matter, just reach us:
pinkythird.9738 / Torak The Brave
xusa.4021 / Renasson
and we’ll gladly take you in.
Yeah, but you can’t discover it (you can’t put watchwork in the crafting station). You need a recipe. Where can I get that?
How can I craft or where can I find the recipe for this rune? (superior, ofc)
Was it a jubilee only?
I didn’t want to create a thread in this forum since I’m actually newbie in the game, but since it’s been difficult to find a guild here for Anvil’s Rock I decided to do it.
I’m a Guardian lv 60, I like to play supportive with scepter/shield + staff, but want to create more characters for more professions.
I don’t yet know if I’ll focus more on WvW or PvE but I’ll surely do both, that’s why I wanted a guild active on them even though they may focus on one more than the other(don’t really care for sPvP).
I tend to be a really active player and member, I like to participate in events just for fun even though I may not have much to gain in doing it.
My name in game right now is Renasson
I liked how you presented your guild in this thread, but I’m a complete newbie in this game when it comes to character relationship (I’ve been playing mostly solo with random dungeon parties). I’m from Anvil Rock, do you have any players from there? If not, how can I play WvW with you together?
I’m still level 55 but I like bear form very much. I try to play more like support/dmg dealer focused on support, but sometimes I just need some plain damage and nothing spells zerg better than to use the staff’s empower plus roar in a dungeon, not to mention the knockbacks that take in 2 gos those anti-cc boss buffs. Really, I don’t know about how good is the bears dmg at 80 with ascended, but at least right now, for me, Bear is ridiculously strong, the only drawback is not having a self-healing spell.
Cool, at least it’s not only me. Didn’t see the thread.
I’ve searched through the forums and seen lots of threads about this bug, but none with a solution (and all from sometime ago). Any party for any dungeon I enter bugs and I can’t follow them into the dungeon and if I enter by going into the dungeon portal myself, I end up alone. Tried relogging, leaving and rejoining party and nothing… Sent a ticket to ANet and received no clear answer but something like this: “Some bugs can’t be solved instantaneously, sorry and be patient.”
Did someone already posted a solution here or anything like that?
I see, but I don’t really know if I’ll do PvP non-WvW
Starfish, I’ve thought about using torch, but never actually tried, didn’t seem like a good option, tbh. And sword felt really nice, but the lack of some substantial supportive or teamplay based skills made me rethink the choice and I always carry a gs in my bag for when I need high dps, I really like how huge it’s dmg output + cleansing can be when you combo your skills. Is the healing signet really good? 10s for a condition cure seems too long and when I use signets I always feel like I’m losing a skill slot. As for shouts, you’re right, I just removed my retaliation on aegis removal and took the cd reduction for shouts, didn’t think of it before. I never gave much thought on the consecration skills, never liked them much (I actually have them all and used them all and didn’t like them). As for elite I liked bear form, it looked so kittening cool and strong I never even cared to look at other elite skills (just remembering an AC boss getting hard knocked by me and one other bear…), not to mention the might it gives
Anti, why hammer for sPVP? ’cause of the knockback?
Ojimaru, thank you for your advice, soldier stats seems nice. I also considered berserker for the critical, but since it gives no defensive stat, I thought I’d need a focus equip (with that blocking 5th skill) and that signet that reduces dmg, but dunno. Just doesn’t sound right.
After thinking for a while, I changed it all a bit and ended up with a build like this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fUMQNAreWlcgqCnFyOE/9ESOjCskwUURY0NDKSiA-jwBBYfERj0GERjJQFRjtquIasqZER1KbY2cFRrGA-e
Despite Ojimaru not mentioning knight armor set, I thought: although the power it gives is low, the precision plus toughtness (that with the trait, also increases precision) is good which will give me some sort of tanky and dmging capability. For weapons I chose beserker and water because of the healing and dmg output it gives which is great, though I don’t know the mathmatic behind this… having 3 sigils of 30% chance will give me 90% of chance, 30% + 30% + 30% (giving me the ability of healing 3 times on the same crit) or 30% and 30% and 30% (so if the 1st 30% fail, I have 2 other chances)? Anyway, sounded alright…
Hello, fellow players, I have a Guardian Norn and I’m building my character to look something like this (don’t mind the equipment tab, I didn’t give much thought building it ankitten ot that worked up over it yet): http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fUMQNAreWlcgqCnFyOE/9ESOjCskwUURE4NDKSiA-jwBBofgMcJMnrIasV1FRjVVjIqWZDzmrIa1A-e
How I decided to make my character this way: First I tried mace + 2h sword, but I found that they didn’t connect with each other, it was all cool to have a sword for dps time and mace for safety time, but it didn’t blend well. Then I decided to try the combination of scepter + shield (I still consider using focus since I don’t like focus’ 4th skill and shield’s 5th is kinda complex and situational each have a skill I don’t like very much) and staff and the reasoning behind this was: as I played and messed a little with this skillset I realized that scepter was an overall offensive single target weapon since it’s auto-attack can be blocked by an enemy in the way of the ball. It’s vulnerability and immobilize is perfect for strong mobs and bosses while the shield takes care of situations with snipers, fast area healing and low cooldown protection, the staff is more like a weapon for dire situation where you need to attack multiple enemies while secure a position and it’s 4th skill combined with virtue of justice is just crazy kitten dmg. for the utility skillbar I chose the AoE healing for the sake of helping the party + NPCs, stand for the fact it has low cd and retaliation (since I had no skill that gave it), hold and intervention for the healing and support, the elite I chose for moments I needed high damage on a short period of time.
The trait tab is the greatest of the mysteries, I chose one that I thought suited my needs but I’m not sure, I could really use some help here.
Sorry for the wall of text, but it was necessary so you could know the reasoning behind my build and so that you know where
PS: I intend to do both PvE and WvW
