I would like to see this as well. On some chars i accidentaly started a profession because i just wanted to sell somwthing to a master crafter and misclicked the first dialog option and then clicking “yes” because my brain was occupied with something else. Over the years it happend several times and now i cant trust the charcter select screen.
I would therefore like to unlearn these 0-level crafts. Alternatively let us deactivate crafts even when the active slots are (partially) unused.
When upgrading the nodes in the guildhall to a higher tier, are you getting the new material additionally to whatever you got before, or is the droptable changed in such a way that the number of single drops is the same?
E.g When upgrading to Ore 2, are you getting the same amount of copper + some silver, or is some of the copper replaced by silver?
Ah, this makes sense. I thought about the middle ones because Rubi mentions LoS although the outer columns don’t seem to leave enough space to hide behind them.
This means both halls shoud be suitable for GvGs.
I am confused about whar Link said in todays live stream abot the columns in the arena of Lost Precipice. It’s mentioned here:
http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2/v/20972084?t=128m30s
Are these columns permanent or are they some of those you can add/remove?
So moving reset day is probably not an option. And we obviously can not count on emergency fixes over the weekend, even if this has happend before. What about this compromise:
- Start events during the week (like tuesday/wednesday) EotM only. If everything goes well roll out on friday for regular WvW.
There is a common rule amongst developers: “Never patch on a friday”.
Bugs happen. But if you can’t fix them the whole weekend because nobody is around, and those bugs cause exploits that completly break the whole gamemode, it is a big problem.
Possible solutions:
- Move reset to another day
- Do events only from monday to friday

I am confused how number of targets cap works for transfusion when there are both standing and downed players around you. Is the 5 player cap shared beetween reviving and healing, or do both effects have their own cap? So when I port 5 downed to me, are they revived while i also heal allies or is nobody else healed? In the latter case are downed allies preferred even when they are not in your group or further away?
It seems that the port at least is guaranteed.
@ Errant
Didn’t you start a thread about this right after it happened? Where did it go?

Just wondering, can hero points be reallocated like traits?
I have nowhere seen this being explicitly confirmed or denied.
Lol, some people are obviously under the impression that you need special hardware to execute macros. Of course there are (free) software solutions for this, e.g. Autohotkey. So no @Hypzz you don’t need to buy anything, you can make macros and keymapping profiles for any ordinary keyboard/mouse. By request I could provide an example how to do it in Autohotkey.
However the problem of external profiles is the chat (or other input fields like mail or TP). It is hard for a macro script to know when you want to type in chat and therefore to temporary deactivate your profile. So for example you have weapon swap on E, but on your ele, your profile remaps this key to F1, then good luck using only words without E while chatting because you won’t have one. You could of course always manually de/re-acativating the profile, but thats painful imo.
This isn’t a problem however if your profiles only involve special keys like mouse buttons or ctrl, which don’t intefere with text input.
So for proper character/class specific profiles Anet has either to do it themselves or implement a interprocess interface such that external software know when to toggle profiles.

When you stand away from your turrets you will probably lose capture. But more importantly i speciaficially said evade for several times now. When you satnd outside of the hammer AoE you won’t be hit by it, but you cannot evade either! Sorry maybe i didn’t make it clear enough, just not taking damage by hammer should have no impact, you have to evade the AoE itself to protect your AI.
And I would never want turret engies to be able to sit on points in skyhammer getting free passes for their silly turrets.
Being eager to troll, you problably failed to understand my suggesstion. The player has to evade the hammer for their AI to not take damge. An evade is not something free (unless you ran SD thief), it is actually active play, the one thing everybody rightfully claims AI builds do not have. Running AI builds on Skyhammer would be still a high risk compared to other maps because a single stun/immobilize before the hammer strikes => turrets = scrap metal. This means you would be able to skillfully counter such builds! So this change can’t make AI builds stronger as they are on other maps anyway.
However ignore AI builds here for a second. I just added them to the list above, because i thought it would be kinda fair. But the real issue are AIs that are not part of a build, an therefore can be just not equipped, it is AIs that are an inherent part of the kittening class mechanic. I hope you are able to understand the difference.
BTW suggestioning that pets and illusions can be prevented from taking damage does no necessarily include that they are not stuned/knocked back!
I do not always play ranger unranked, so i just now had the pleasure to play on skyhammer with this class.
Could somebody explain to me how the new skyhammer is not heavily imbalanced against rangers? Don’t get me wrong, the gameplay with an evadeable hammer feels so much better than before – on any other class. But while any remotly skilled player dodges happyly around, my pet has no chance. Am I supposed to only play double ranged pet and waste time carefully position it with Guard! any time it gets to close due to the opponent’s movement?
I suppose phantasms, turrets and minions are equally affected, but everybody plays shatter or clone death anyway, and i dont pity the other :P.
So in case i dont turn out to be a noob, because there is an easy solution, here is my suggestion:
Suggestion 1: Disable everybody’s class mechanics on skyhammer, because that’s what it feels like (just kidding)
Sugestion 2: Players evading the hammer causes their pets, turrets, illusions, spirits, minions, elementals, thief guild thiefs, and, for the hipster guardians out there, spirit weapons to not take damage from the the hammer. Should not work for rock dogs or tropical birds because these are not class mechanics.
Edit: added spirits/thief guild

I agree. Justin wrote in the pre-patch blog that winning probabilities are introduced to make it more rewarding when you keep fighting. But the motivation is gone as long as you are not going to know the outcome.
Why not just volunteer and getting the win bouns in any case? You can’t be forced when you volunteer!
Because sometimes I prefer to stay with the team, with which I have played for the last 10 minutes…
Let me guess: It was a game where your team stomped the other hard, and coincidentally everybody on your team got such a deep emotional bonding to each other within these 10 minutes, such that the thought of changing teams was unfeasible for your poor souls?
That’s not exactly a good incentive to keep playing the match, when you are forced to switch against your wishes…

Do all buffs that increase Magic Find, like food, boosters, banners and guild bonuses, work in HotM?
I support the decision to disallow countdown build changes. Fiddling with the build UI feels weird and unfitting for the claim of making spvp an esport. It might make balancing a little bit harder as well. Moreover you can easily write a probably hard to detect macro that makes the changes for you, and im sure some people are doing exact this.
However the nerf for necros is serious, and they were already on the first inc in a bad shape anyway. I therefore would like to see an initially LF of 40% or even 50% on spawn before the match starts. Later spawns should not grant this because it is a kind of skill to decide wisely whether you save your LF or waste it in a hopeless situation.
Are the winning odds adjusted for the remaining players after someone deserts the game? If you are outmanned the whole match it can be quite hard to get at least 200 or even 300 points, probably resulting in a loss of 1-3 rank points even when you fought well for the rest of the match.
What exactly is meant with “reset”? Because getting out of fight and loosing all aggro didnt help.
The Giant Destroyer Troll at the end of “Only Zuhl” jumping puzzle on Dzagonur is permanently buffed with “Determined”.
Am I to understand that the OP is complaining that he is losing to teams of higher rank than his own?
Working as intended surely? Low priority problem, I agree that slightly more even matchups would make solo queue a tiny bit more enjoyable but I don’t think this is something that resources should be allocated to…
No you misunderstood.
I posted this after several totally imbalanced games in a row. Most of them ended even 500 – <100. I was both in winning and loosing teams. Being in the loosing one, I tried to pull all my tricks and combos, but nothing helped. Being in the winning one I button smashed and the victory wasn’t in danger at all. Hell, I problably could have just auto attacked and let my teammates do the job.
I don’t think you would call this as working as intended.
Instead I want to feel my skill progression, how a good performance of mine has a outcome on the match, even when its just a slight one.
I don’t know when you play, try 7am CEST = 1 am EDT.
This should be fixed in the next PvP drop, which may be next month, not sure.
Nice to hear!
Oh boy, what a poor choice. And yet shuffling has been proven to work umpteen times in any physical education class. I would prefer it over random team building, but that would be ok, too.
Thanks for answering.
After the ten players were selected from the queue, in which way exactly are they assigned to the teams? Is it random, or a shuffle (best rated goes blue, second best goes red, third goes red…), or somehing else?
I’m asking because it often seems that he five better players are in one team, which would be a terrible system imho. But this is maybe a subjective observation.
I just had a solo q match on Temple of the Silent Storm. At first everything went normal, but after my second death I couldn’t go through the portal anymore. Team mates were not affected. Going back and forwards several times didn’t help. It was not a dc, everything else went on normally.
A small plea for the fun of fighting:
Last night, let’s say about midnight to 3pm GMT, in EB we had quite fun smaller fights on the road between our WSR spawn and ‘our’ keep… wich wasn’t ours anymore of course.
For some reason that keep of ours looked blue.Anyhow, we had several people talking things over on the stairs, next to a bored golem in fact.
And we also had a few ‘pushing’ forward while there was nowhere to go in the end.The fights were mostly on the road and up to the stairs of the keep.
Enemy players I noticed were, among others: a grenadier engi (as an engi myself that made it personal to me)
That was probably me. I completly agree that the use of cannons was needless after it had become clear that you did not intend to siege Lowlands. When your spawn suddenly spitted out that golem (an omega iirc), we expected a serious attack. We also pushed once or twice, out of cannon range, with casualities on our side.
I for one kept granade throwing range to you, but couldn’t do much more without anyone in front of me, due to my zerg build and not having exotics yet (I’m a rather fresh player and just recently hit 80, yay!).
You guys did for sure a good job keeping our backs against the keep walls.
Anyway, props to you and everybody who keeps fighting for WSR without QQ. I hope we will have awesome and balanced fights between our three worlds in the future.
This is not a bug, but a little misdesign:
When trying to select a language, you usually hover the “Services” or “Shop” buttons, and their sub menu popups are lying over the language buttons. Thus you have to awkwardly move around or come from the top of the browser window.
Obviously, this gets annoying when using the forums of several languages.
He didn’t die! He lied directly behind the gate and I revived him through it! The dead ally symbol disappeared and didn’t come back (I watched the map for a minute).
That means he either got a very secret undercover Whispers misson, and couldn’t come back, or he s**t his pants after all, and is now squandering his apple fortune somewhere.
