The easier way to fix bloodlust is to have a different reward system:
- if you are in the winning server, you gain no bonus
- if you are in the second best server, you gain 25 points.
- if you are in the worst server, you gain 50 points.
2: I am for any server can play anyone. However, the loser server should have several bonus based on the difference in population and structure and rank. And the winner server should be worth a lot more wvw points.
Example: The worst 2 servers play the top server. The top server has all the structures and the worst 2 servers have a total of 50 players max.
Every players of the top server should be worth 10x more points. Every players of the loser servers should have 10x more armor, 10x more health, be able to carry 50 supplies, and do 20x more damage to structures, constant speed, do 1.5x more dmg to enemies. Now you have the equivalent of 50 champions walking around.
Ex: if the difference between the winner server and the 2 losing servers is minimum, then I wish the winner server to be worth 25% more wvw xp.
I was told on this forum that this is “normal” to spy on other servers and tell your opponent servers what’s is about to happen.
So… do I approve this problem with golems? Why not? It is war. If people want to join a server and want to ruin their fun by wasting everything they make in plain sight, I don’t see any problem. Just grab the golem as soon as it is finish and run straight into enemy camp. That person should not even be banned or reported. Hey it is war according to someone on this forum.
Of course, Arenet could fix that by adding an icon to all the structures that person drop, and making sure (any structure he created) can be retake.

ps: I am fully aware that some already require 100 points, and I have been always against it.
What I learn this week:
For the 2nd time in a row in 1 month, TC and Mag are working together (many times, TC and Mag were found together in the same buildings just waiting). While I will not be there to witness the gore feast, we are not stupid and every server know what is coming up.
This coming friday, TC will make sure DB is dead last by, as usual, not attacking Mag BL. And Mag will do the same. Mag will coordinate all their efforts on Friday to wipe all DB structures and, both servers will camp on the res waypoint of DB. Mark my words. It will happen again.
But you know what? Even if you wipe DB wvw to nothing, the rank of all the servers may not even change again. So… here is my take: WHATEVER!

Woah there. Nobody deserves a kick for play style. Abuse and harassment, sure. But not play style.
That aside, when gearing with any kind of damage in mind always make sure that you have some kind of crit damage gear in your shoulders, gloves, and boots as well as your accessories. You get the most efficient crit damage per stat points that way. PVT gear is not horrible, damage wise – it has the highest power potential out of any stat combo when used with sharpening stones. If you are going to mix and match, I’ do Berserker amulet, Soldier rings, Berserker accessories with Soldier helm, chest, and legs and Berserker shoulder, gloves and boots. That will yield the most efficient stat point usage. You’ll be able to trait in whatever direction you want, offensively or defensively.
If you’re exclusively doing PvE, pack on as many damage multipliers as you can. Fiery Wrath, Radiant Power, Elusive Power, Force sigils, etc will boost your damage considerably.
kicking for play style is wrong (to an extent) but wasting. Other peoples time warrants a kick every time
But you don’t get to decide if another person is wasting your time based on his/her gear. You simply can’t know just because of that-you are ASSUMING he/she will waste your time, much like people make unfair real-life assumptions based on individual preferences, backgrounds, etc. Someone may very well “waste your time” with the “right” gear (according to you.)

Just because I have 8500+ achievement points doesn’t mean I am good at every classes. My guardian is definitely something I am not comfortable. And there is ZERO difference between a pug and a guild member skill. The only difference is that a pug will leave your group if he doesn’t like it. A guild member is expected to stay. Please let us know your guild name so we know what to avoid.

As several other posters said, it should be character related. However, (like I wrote before) the requirement to max up is too high and take too long. I am for making it simpler and a lot quicker. I am also ok for being able to purchase the wvw skill points with either gem (as I know Arenet would love this idea) or karma.
Change a server. Pick well. You don’t have to pick the top ones. Just look at the score and pick the one who is destroying the others 2 servers. And that, you may need to switch back or to another server for a balance and fun wvw gameplay.
Playing a thief could also help for some of the map.

organization requires a formal order: we are in critical need of flexibility, and the current system is way to rigid.
Organization? A lot of players in my server (DB) don’t care about even about following the commander. All they care is making cheap points and quit when it gets hard.
Like someone else wrote, commander color is a much better choice.
If Arenet makes new maps, I expect a map for each race, and a random rotation every week/month.

For the second day in a row, I, some fellow DB and some TC were reduced at emotes (i.e. dancing) near each other as there is nothing else to do:
We cannot win, and TC were bored too. Killing each other for 10 worthless points is meaningless. Mind you, this is only the 3rd day. Going to be a long week…

I am for reducing the WXP requirement to level up (by a lot) or being able to buy the level up with gem.
Only hardcore players spend time to register here, and post something you and the developers may have deem hateful.
When hardcore players start to complain, Arenet should take a serious time to look why. These players have played a lot, and “advice”/complain on Arenet what to do to keep the game fun. Failure to do may lead to a lost of revenue as they may quit out of frustrating. If they quit, their friends may quit. And nobody wants to play/buy a game when a lot of people keep complaining on the forum about lack of the fun factor.

I’d like to know when the definition of sportsmanship was let the other team win, because from what I know, that’s called “throwing a fight” or “throwing a game”, and is the exact OPPOSITE of sportsmanship.
Where did you read anything that say winning = sportsmanship?
If someone knows a way/hack to see better the AOE circle, please mesg me. I am very interested
Actually there is one more SIMPLER possibility:
If a server is destroying their opponents, everything related to that server should be worth a lot of points. For example, killing an opponent should be worth 10x more. That would give an incentive for the 2 losing servers to team up and try to beat on the winners.
I am also for what you call “Inverse control buffs”.
The buffs will be based on the number of structures, and how much outnumbered you are. In the worst case, you should get a buff on armor, health, damage, and damage to structures. You should also be worth a lot more points than normal.
BG and Mag had 50 points each in wvw a few min ago. FA is just tearing everyone. We were clearly outnumbered, but it didn’t show on our screen. And Arenet still didn’t bother giving more intensive for the 2 servers to play (extra bonus to armor, health or something). Most of our casual players on BG don’t show up, because they hate being destroyed. So we were “fighting” 1 vs 2.
Well good news: I am quitting officially this tuesday. I may come back in a month to see if anything has changed. Good luck Arenet. You rock by doing nothing for wvw.

FIRST day and it look like TC is owning almost 100% of map.
Nobody in BG wants to bother anymore. In our BL, we were SEVEN and FA has a zerg (15+). I don’t know why we are not considered outnumbered.
I think I may attack a few yaks and call it quit. Yeah, you can insult me all day long, call me a loser/liar, come up with all kind of excuse. Whatever. Good luck having almost nothing to do in wvw at this speed.
Don’t start acting as though Anet is suddenly disregarding the casual player and catering only to the “hardcore” crowd. Most of the stuff in this game is accessible to the casual player, so why not have a boss or two for those with the will to keep trying?
First: accomplishments affect your account (ex: magic find).
Second: Gw2 was aimed at casual players. That’s been said, I understand you want something worth you game time (after all the nerfs of Arah p4, CM story, fire elemental boss, etc…). This boss feels a bit too hard and too random imho, and it is at the limit of what I can do. And please don’t act like it is the first time you got something “hard”: We had the mad king jumping puzzle, the winter puzzle, AR dungeon, fractal level 80, etc…
imho, she is horribly hard and take a long time to understand how to beat her.
Surprisingly enough, I just beat her. I strongly advice for anyone reading this to focus on the shadowfall. That’s the biggest issue to see and avoid. More advice at wiki. Best of luck to all the noobs (alike me).
No, the good players are sadistic.
They want the game to be harder because they want to “a challenge” and because they want other people to recognize they have “the skill”. As the result, the game becomes because harder and harder to keep the good players from being bored.
But if everything is going to be too hard (like this boss), the (large) majority of players will leave as they will feel the content of this game is not for them. These “noobs” are the main people who pay the bill of Arenet as they don’t play 24h/7d and don’t have the gold to buy the “top” stuffs.

The problem is that people are extremely greedy. Let’s be clear here: There is no difference between destroying the other two servers, and being annihilated. In both case, you end up with nothing to do.
Match up by Arenet is a hopeless thing to hope for. This will NEVER happen.
As time goes by, the best server will have more players with better rank = more wvw points = better advantage. The loser servers will keep on losing. And who want to play the same servers over and over because they are the closest matchup?
The only solution is to give a damage/armor/health bonus to the losing teams to balance a bit the gameplay. If your server had only 10 players, outnumbered and no structure, Arenet should give a bonus like “2x more armor, 2x more health, 1.5x dmg,5x more dmg against structure”. That’s my 2 cents.

Can we have a reset every 3 or 4 days? Why bother making it 1 week, when everything is pretty much decided after 3-4 days. The other 2 servers usually don’t want to play anymore. There is nothing to do.
You must be playing a different game than I am. If we get behind on points, I just go find an outmanned BL and go nuts!!
Your disgusting mentality is the reason why GW2 and wvw will lose more and more players. sos and cd are not even playing anymore, because they are getting destroyed non stop on EQ. Even if their players decide not to quit GW2, we may have nothing to do until the reset. Meanwhile other players (on other servers) are gaining new WXP upgrades.
I am sorry sos and cd. I tried many times to tell our commanders not to wipe everything and give you a chance to play. But they keep on killing everything to a point there is nothing for DB at this time to do.
I am a bit sad that we have so many immature kids on our servers. When we win, we destroy our opponents. When we lose, we are totally disorganize, give up so easily, and half our “zerg force” does not show anyhow.
Either:
- make it account based
- reduce the amount of wvw exp required to get all the wvw points
- reduce the amount of requirements to get all the wvw points

this is no fun and not fair for other server. now what to do after take all? sit for hours and no play wvw till they have a chance for taking stuff back? i and friends want to level rank, not sit around playing with ourselves.
Are you kidding me? You are partially the reason why they don’t want to come out. If I were the enemies, your safe presence on the keep is telling everyone that there are more of you waiting to wipe us. So why would anyone bother fighting you knowing it is a lost battle? The joke is on you for acting like that.
The problem is not the matchup because this will NEVER be fixed.
The problem is Arenet refusal to give extra incentives for any losing servers, based on how outnumbered a server is, and how many structures they currently have.
For example, if you are the only Meguna in your server versus JQ zerg, Arenet could give him 10x more dmg, 10x more armor, and make him worth 20x the wvw exp. It is not like it will make a huge difference but it is kind of fun to know there is a real monster out there (most likely a thief). Just an idea.
Culling is more something of category “bugfix”, no new content.
So unless something is actual content it does not require dev-time?
You are making a false analogy. Any work, including bug fixes, on GW2 requires dev-time. But that’s not the issue.
This game is turning into a World of Warcraft PVE feast with so many living world content. As the result, wvw get a lot less attention. After almost a year, some wvw players are tired of waiting for some significant changes and have quit. And more players will quit. Some other players are still hoping for something to happen (to keep them from quitting), and made threads like this one, “Does anyone else get bored of WvW?”, and “Fired the wvw team”.
Possible significant changes examples:
- several maps rotation (one for each races)
- new weather that affect the gameplay (ex: snow that reduce speed)
- new features for commander (ex: can see right away if a structure is 100% healthy)
- being able to recognize who is alive, down and dead
Bug fixes examples (I consider them bugs because they are ridiculous but some people may consider this to be a feature):
- reduce the lower lvl up or make it account bound
- reduce the accomplishment requirement

As said in your other identical thread: We have gotten quite a bit of stuff in WvW, but for some reason people seems to ignore this.
And for all we know, what we have gotten in WvW does take as much dev time as what have been added in PvE.
The changes we all get in WvW are very welcome but so far insignificant.
Arenet need to make a few extra maps and do a random rotation between them. If it is too hard, then at least make the structure random in design.
It would be really nice to have a clue about the estimate wait time or (even better) how far are you in the queue.
Can you please give us more choice to use the support tokens?
I have 3 stacks of support tokens. One thing I don’t want to do: click 750 times to support someone. Right now, I rather destroy all 3 stacks than waste my time voting for either of the two candidates. I wish I could at least sell my tokens even for 1c or sell them all on TP.

On behalf of DB, I feel sorry for you to face kitten ed off DB players. We had 2 rough weeks where we lost.

Right now, everything is totally unbalanced.
- If you are on the winning server, players probably have more WXP upgrades than your opponent.
- you probably have more players, bigger zerg.
- you will likely win non stop by beating homeless players, until your opponents quit the game or move to your server. Yes you are “awesome”.
Imho, Arenet needs to keep balancing the servers:
- make sure servers of fairly similar values play together
- If you kill someone, give additional wvw points based on the difference between wvw rank
- If someone from a winning server die, he should res with 2 conditions applied to him for 2min. If someone from the #2 server die, he should res with 2 conditions applied to him for 1min.
Doing nothing is definitely not in the favor of Arenet. Weak servers have no incentive to even play WvW besides the daily/monthly… and even that can be skipped.
Did people really think we teamed up with JQ? Did they not see all the red on their BL this week?

Nice try but we all know it is a lie.
And while I root for my server to win, there is not really such a thing as a rivalry as people can transfer at any time. And no, I am not crying. I beat tons of “pro players” and had several enemies of FA/JQ trying to join me just to insult me, proving that I am better than them. I am very proud of the result this week, even more than last week when we faced the top 2 servers.

What I learn for my 3rd week of WvW:
- Enemies like to join you just to insult you
- I can beat “pro player” even if I just started 2-3 week of pvp/wvw.
- DB has almost no point, because JQ and FA work more together just to make sure JQ is #1, FA is #2, and DB loses a lot. From spying to making sure DB is barely outnumbered, DB will definitely end up 3rd. I expect this to be a huge trend, where servers will ally against whoever they don’t like, making WvW absolutely kittened. I expect a lot of players to quit or change server non stop in a very close future. GW2 community will die even faster except if Arenet finally decide to improve the balance between servers.
- DB did pretty well considering they were attacked by 2 servers non stop.
- I hope JQ and FA get destroyed. I would gladly spy for whoever is their opponents.

It is not fair to give the server that happens to hold more tally points a combat disadvantage
It is very fair to give a chance to balance the game a bit more in favor of the losing server.
No, people should be able to go the merchant and repair. I am for something similar.
If the dead player is playing on:
- the winning server, he should be affected by 25 stacks of 2 random unremovable conditions for 2 min.
- the 2nd server, he should be affected by 25 stacks of 2 random unremovable conditions for 1 min.
- the losing server, he should not be affected by anything.
Possible conditions are: chilled, confusion, crippled, vulnerability, weakness

When 2 zergs fight and bodies start to pile up, I see a sea of green and red circles and it get very confusing. It is hard to make up a strategy when you cannot visualize what is alive/dead/down and if they are friends or enemies.
Friends alive should have a green circle.
Friends down should have a dark green circle.
Friends dead should have a blue circle.
Enemies alive should have a red circle.
Enemies down should have a dark red circle.
Enemies dead should have a grey circle.

This is stupid because it is impossible to max the stats for wvw, and you “need to” do it for all your characters. If you don’t, they are weaker. If you do, it is very much a time sink and not much fun to play the same characters for such a long time.
It should be similar to other achievements, and not to be a goal to play non stop until you complete it. People who don’t like WvW will not play it anyhow, and people who play WvW just for achievements have probably gave up a long time ago.

Personally, I was expecting the World Ability Points to be based on the trait points: You cannot have all max, and it is feasible for any person playing a a few hours a day. And you can spend money to reset your World Ability Points.
