I personally would like to see a recommended Specs to be posted
Also i would rather have Higher FPS and be able to enjoy the new content than just crashing or getting so low FPS i cant even play.
Who here would like Arena Net to post not only the Minimum specs for the game but an accurate Recommended Settings for Windows and Mac ?
Also another Question who all would prefer slower content delivery with improved game performance, Basically releasing content that is fully optimized before release?
Please Post below your responses to both questions if possible
Thank You

I submitted a ticket to Arenanet using the Game Advisor App just in case if they need to individually update the game on there end for all the hardware again. About the only thing we can do is report our findings to ArenaNet, AMD, and Nvidia Respectively to resolve this issue at least until we get a final say from ArenaNet with a patch.
Game Advisor:
To download Game Advisor, go here http://us.ncsoft.com/gameadvisor .
Save the file to your Desktop so you can access it easily. Please save the file before running it.
Double-click on the Game Advisor file and then click on the icon for Guild Wars 2.
Click on the “Test Computer and Connection” button and wait a few minutes for the test to complete.
Once the test finishes, a “Test Result” window will appear. This window will tell you where the diagnostic report is saved. Please attach this report file to your reply.
ya i have tried all this as well, tried different modes like AFR, 1×1, and even profile defaults. My tems are around 60C, plus i dont have any problems in any other MMORPG, or game i play atm. I been playing mostly Black Desert Online which requires alot heavier specs and i get a smooth 60fps in crossfire.
About the only thing i can think of is to revert back to a driver a year ago or something. which i wont due because of the fact of newer AAA titles are more compatible with the newer drivers, example DX12, and newer DX11 Games
I have done this. Also Ansau, i had perfect FPS on my other cards which used the same CPU. FX cpus have less single threaded performance compared to current I5 – I7 cpus, if you look at benchmarks they way out perform CPU that date from Core2 , 1st and some 2nd Gen Intel I series, I have a motherboard that works in 16x bandwidth isnt the issue. Its some newer Graphics cards in general it seems. I just used my older amd 6950 and nvidia GTX 460 and i get higher FPS on them than i do on my current GPU’s.
Its nothing to do with settings which as i stated before i tried all of them.
FPS is so bad atm on my 2 Crossfired R9 270s 2GB OC 1050Mhz. I am currently useing the 64Bit client.
You can submit Performance issues with guildwars2 to the card developers for driver updates to fix stuff on there end. It could help performance on driver side and posting on the forums here also helps the developers side.

Select computer and Guildwars2 is listed among games listed.
Hello everyone,
I am having issues with guildwars2 with my 2 crossfired XFX R9 270’s 2GB OC 1050mhz from 925. I barely get 25 – 35 FPS in most maps about the only ones i get FPS spikes are small areas in divinities reach and the outer boarders of the town. I havnt played guildwars 2 since the expansion, i just got back on. I used to have 2 XFX R7 260x in crossfire and they got 15 – 20 more FPS……… I know its not my cards nor is it my system because the only the that has changed was that i got newer and better cards. I can play BlackDesert Online, BattleField 4, Need for Speed Rivals, and Dirty Rally on Ultra 50 – 60FPS at 1080p…..
Computer Specs
AMD FX-9370 4.4Ghz Turbo 4.7Ghz 8 core
8GB Gskill Ares Cas 9 2133mhz
2 XFX R9 270s Crossfired OC 1050Mhz
2 Toshiba 120Gb = 240Gb SSD in raid 0
Gigabyte 990FX-Gaming Edition G1 with northbridge OC 2400Mhz
Also Note i have tried many different settings, Windows 10 Reinstalled and updated Drivers so on. Even tried 1 card vs the 2 cards still bad performance!
you can find bios for different cards on this website but I would advice check with your card manufacture to see if they have one specifically for your card first.
Ya flashing a bios can also fix this, the bios regulates the clock rates and fan settings for the card itself. Essentially could clock it lower or address the memory more efficient which would fix the artifacts.
If anyone does look up flashing bios on gfx cards. Please make sure the bios matches the card model, specs including gpu and memory brands. You don’t want to brick your graphics card use with caution and backup your original bios.
That lawsuit didn’t go through the is a true 8 core. Its 2 cores per modual think of 4 dual core CPU dies on the same PCB sharing a l3 cache.
Asrock 990fx. Fatality edition. It has solid gold caps and is around $99-130 depends on if on sale look on newegg
Try submitting report to AMD. Then try down clocking your memory by 25 to 50mhz with a over clock program. If that doesn’t work try reseat you gfx card and make sure u have proper power requirements. If still doesn’t work try downloading the newest driver that comes out in couple weeks. if none of this works if your card is under warranty gt them to replace the card
Artifacts are caused by 2 things driver issues in processing textures through the memory chips. Also it can be the memory chips themselves due to heat or overvolting over clock
ISP has there own isp they route through. if u select a different dns, it bypasses the nodes used by your current dns to resolve a domain address like www.google.com is 173.194.112.243. basically a DNS server translates and transmits information from what u type or a game or application sends and converts it to something a server/pc can understand.
you can try using a different DNS to see if it will reroute the info. If it doesn’t then you will need to contact your ISP and give them the NODE it is dropping on.
You will have to supply information from a traceroute you can do this in command prompt or the website http://whatismyipaddress.com/traceroute-tool
supply them with that info and they will try settings on there end, or if worse if other applications or serves cant access the node they will have to fix it if its one of theres or notify a partner to repair or reset the node.
Please also check out the latest beta driver from amd, it might not have any improvements on guildwars buy might help you in other games until. Amd collects everyones support tickets for the new main release drivers.
Ya i used wine before as well, i use so many different distros of linux i get lazy so i bought crossover there the ones that setup wine to begin with anyways lol. but ya good alternative.
Other ways also Vmware Player/ Workstation
You can install full copy of windows xp – windows 10 and it feeds of your hardware, however that would make a hit on your available ram LOL.
Everyone Please settle down as stated the exe is beta. If you are having problems in game use the 32bit exe for events and stuff that is important. Use the 64bit exe when u are wanting to test it and report back on the forums on your findings from each patch. Ranting about pointless crap about quitting guildwars because a beta exe is pointless and wont make the process faster…… , just login to the 32bit exe and quit QQing.
Go to your network adapter by going to control panel/network and sharing/change adapter settings/properties/ select IPv4/ add in another DNS server.
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/tipstricks/a/free-public-dns-servers.htm
Remember Level 3 and Verizon is the same company. So if u use Verizons dns it most likely have same result in what your experiencing. I would try OpenDns/Google/Comodo DNS.
Hope this helps if not google/bing/yahoo etc….. how to change dns on windows XXXX or MAC XXXX
basically when they say 2GB it means 2GB available, so for example
you have 4 GB installed on pc.
1GB for operating system
500MB for other general applications like antivirus, defrags, and email clients
lets say 300 – 700 mb for web browsers u might have open
this would leave u around 1.7GB – 2.3GB or so. Basically u could run the game as long as other components meet the requirements like cpu and video card.
————————————————————————————————-
the 64bit client can use well over the 2GB
just wanted to inform about me having this issue.
My fps with dual crossfire xfx r7 260x 2GB card went from 35 – 45 fps in divinity’s reach to 15 – 25 within the last launcher patch……..
I’m gonna try to use another driver from amd but I think this issue on this problem is the exe.
System Specs
Amd- fx 8310 4 module 8 logic cores 4.5Ghz
12GB ddr3
2x r7 260x from xfx crossfire setup
2 – 120GB Tosiba Q series 520Mb read 480 write in raid 0
(edited by zondabmw.5490)
I didn’t post limit FPS since u said u already do this lol!!!
The new 64bit exe is beta so there might still need patch some performance losss in the gpu side.
You can do 4 things to lower temps on your GPU.
1. Download a program that allows u to control and set the fan speed at certain temps like example….. MSI Afterburner, Speedfan 4.4, and editing your gpu bios with nvida or amd bios tool.
2. If your card is no longer under warrenty take the heatsink off the card and apply a more premium thermal paste, I prefer Liquid metal thermal paste it basically fills in the gaps and is metal to metal performance.
http://www.coollaboratory.com/en/products/liquid-ultra/
3. you can buy a slot fan, which there is 2 types.
1st kind blows heat out of your case near the video card or other devices.
2nd kind blows are directly onto the video card.
“buy the first one if u don’t have good air flow, buy the second if u have good air flow in case but need little more on GPU”
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Description=PCI%20slot%20fan&Submit=ENE
4. Keep using the 32bit exe until it matures abit more and become more stable.
Also you all could post below your issues graphically so it is also collected by anet in 1 post.
ya wine is free to use if you know how to set it up. which isn’t hard for most but the crossover program basically has it set and done for u with a support group that can help you out but all in all good alternative if something crashes or stops working.
guildwars 2 has a higher rating of compatibity on mac over Linux. Linux with 3 star, mac with 4 star.
https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/search/?name=Guild+wars+2&browse=&app_desc=&company=&rating=&date_start=&date_end=&search=app
Again I was just try the program for 14 days and see.
Also you can post problems if u have any with the card on AMD forums
https://community.amd.com/community/support-forums
I just posted this program as a alternative to just using a beta program or running windows OS all the time.
Linux fan
I use Linux to game on which i get 2-3 fps difference from the windows OS on guildwars2. I have a friend that uses a mac pro and used my account for this program and got about the same little less at time but still was better than his.
My rig that i use this on
intel Core 2, 3.2Ghz
4 GB DDR2
Nvidia 8600 GTS 256mb
I would advice to download the 14 day trial see if it works for your needs.
https://www.codeweavers.com/products/crossover-mac/download
if your driver for NVidia is crashing do these 2 things.
1. submit a ticket into anet
2. Submit a bug report to NVidia to update the driver for the new 64 bit exe.
I bought this and it works great on Linux and Mac OS. Its a program that allows you to use the Windows version of games and programs without waiting on game developers to finish compatibility. It works better than beta programs…… However the game on Linux/mac with this program is about 2-3 FPS lower than Native Windows.

Hope this helps some players that like using Linux as a main OS, and Mac users that want to use the 64bit exe for MAC.
What I would do in your case would be in windows 10, select the windows feedback app explain your issue if other people are having same issue as you they will upvote your post basically like a LIKE button….
You can also submitted a report to Nvidia about the windows 10 drivers.
http://nvidia-submit.custhelp.com/app/answers/list
You can also send a bug report to NVidia at this address http://nvidia-submit.custhelp.com/app/answers/list
To be honest if your just gonna use it for guildwars2 and some minor programs just go with this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148840&cm_re=seagate_1tb-_-22-148-840-_-Product
its a 1tb 150mbs – 180mbs harddrive its not as fast as a Solid state it is faster than traditional HD’s but u wont see much of a difference on Guildwars compared to a solid state, basically same performance.
Solid State drive would help with boot times of Windows/Linux/Mac, and your able to run more programs reading from the drive while you play without lag spikes like if u was watching a movie stored on your drive, zipping a file, and playing Guildwars2 at the same time then ya solid state go for it LOL
I have 2 solid states combined in Raid 0, for even faster speed but it doesn’t show hardly at all in MMORPG’s, it just helps in boot times, installing games, update installs, basically random access crap!! LOL

Hey if anyone is having issues with Low FPS, Single Card Screen Flicker, Dual Crossfire Fickering, or over all performance on any of these topics.
Please Fill out the this survey given by amd to update the next driver release to fix and improve these issues. You will need to know you graphics card model.
“make sure to give detail information” Like model, Driver, and check guildwars2 in the list.

Hope the next driver release is awesome thanx for the help!!!!!
Please don’t just assume windows 10 or any other OS is at fault its usually small things that cause errors.
Windows 10 works fine with Guildwars2 I have it installed on 4 pcs running Guildwars2 this is a error caused by corruption in a file.
4. things can cause this to happen.
1. when you updated to windows 10 gw2 didn’t backup correctly.
2. the exe is registered to the old OS.
3. Your pc isn’t fully updated driver wise.
4. the update to windows 10 didn’t copy full system files. There is always a small risk of losing minor files when upgrading OS’s
ways to fix this.
1. Right click Gw2.exe go to properties go to the compatibility tab and select Windows 7.
2. Try downloading the 64bit Exe for Guildwars.
3. Download the latest drivers for nvida/amd/intel on there website.
4. Redownload Guildwars2 from the website.
5. Go to start button select settings, and update and security check for updates see if there is a build update, this might also fix the issue.
6. if you still have problems try going command prompt and type sfc -scannow then enter it will try to find any corrupt file on the hard drive itself and try to repair it.
if your using NVidia based card and windows 10 automatically updated your driver. Try going to the NVidia website http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
for AMD http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
Download the latest driver, the windows upgrade might of corrupted the new driver. If this still does not work. try a older archived driver that came out on windows 10 release date of July 29th 2015
Actually Dx10 and beyond provides memory management for graphic assets between system and video memory where in Dx9 and before it’s left that in the hands of the game’s developer. That’s why in Vista (Dx10) and beyond can list the amount of video memory you have as greater than the amount your video card actually has.
But all of that has nothing to do with 64-bit code.
Also we talk about system RAM and not video memory.
And btw. since Vista and beyond Direct-X uses more RAM. That was very good
visible when AION was constantly crashing OOM after release because the
CrySystem.dll was not compiled with Large Memory Aware. People with XP
had very seldom crashes, mostly those with Vista or Win7 were affected. And zondabmw brought up Dx9 and the use of system memory. I was simply clarifying the fact that it wasn’t until Dx10 that memory management between video and system was handled by DirectX. What do you think a fair chunk of the system memory is being used for? It’s caching object geometry and textures that aren’t in video card memory.
Addressing the general public now.
The increase in usage between the 32 and 64 bit client is due to, for the non-programmer, what’s called a pointer. It “points” to a location in memory. In a 32-bit client a pointer is only 4 bytes, 32-bits in size. Pretty sure you can figure out where this is going.
Programming uses a lot of pointers, especially an application developed in the language C++. Not necessarily explicitly but once you look at the code the compiler generates, it’s a plethora of pointers. Objects (data) are loaded with them. Therefore going from 32-bit to 64-bit, the data being manipulated by the client grows in size but not necessarily double, since not everything in your block of data are pointers.
So while you have access to a greater amount of space to store your data, your data also grows. But the key thing is not getting an OOM error due to a failed heap allocation because you hit a hard 4GB limit.
Now running out of system memory and needing the swap file because the working set is too large, that’s a different issue.
You actually bring up another good point. This 64 bit exe is a beta release for testing hopfully they can patch as many errors as possible. Maybe even set a new tmp file in the Gw2 folder to further cache the files when it uses a certain % of ram but meh that’s wishful thinking on that end lol!
As you see errors and the amount of ram used just submit a support ticket. Also note if you are using the 32bit or 64bit exe when the problem occurred.
I agree with the DX10 but I didn’t mention it due to Vista and Dx10 was not used hardly at all I think it was like 20 games was ever supported under DX10. And most of those moved to Dx11. Also 64Bit code on the exe does matter basically its telling the processor to use 64bit instruction set which emits more memory headroom for the game itself. I have run into this same problem with games like Dekaron, Runes of magic, and cabal. Think of the 64bit exe as a work around so that NCSOFT doesn’t update Guildwars2 with DX11, they do have the capability to update it to DX11 due to the fact the havoc game engine does supply DX9-11 game development kits…
Here is a list of almost all games developed with the Havok Engine which range from DX9-DX11.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_games_using_Havok
Main thing at why the 64 bit client uses this much ram is basically 2 things. The game engine for GW2 basically takes available textures, ai, and physics to be held and then processed by the processor as much as possible. Its the main reason why people crashed so much using the 32bit.exe, the old exe was limited to 2GB so when 2GB or more is loaded it crashes the client which causes the exe to dump the overhead. This is typical in DirectX9 Games which cards from DX9 era wasn’t as powerful and didn’t come with a lot of video memory so DX9 games use more ram instead of video memory. However DirectX11 uses available video memory more efficiently instead of using ram!! Anno for example is a DX11 game. Basically if u download Riva tuner you will see little ram usage on max settings on that game but high video memory usage of 1GB or more depending on ur GFX card. GW2 hardly goes between 500-1024MB video memory.
