What new fractals would you like to see?
Anything as long as it isn’t swamp 2.0 or has annoying timegated kitten.
As for specific historical stuff, I’d love to see Liadri or other gauntlet bosses as fractal
Arah before it got destroyed maybe.
Scenes from GW1.
-The Charrclysm of Ascalon
-One of the missions where you scout through the ruins of ascalon
- Defense of Nolani Academy
Or something from Elona / Vabbi / Cantha
Finding Primordus in Eye of the North was also quite epic.

Graphically I would like to see them use VB, AB, TD and DS. I know there are issues with the actual maps in the HoT environment, but graphically, they are well done
- I like the way the Asure JP fractal is done – more that it is different from a “flat” environment fractal.
- I like the way Swamp/Moss need some level of co-ordination to get through the Tunnel.
- I HATE THE FREAKING DOLPHIN LEVEL!!! PERIOD!!!
I’d like something that implies and requires team work. Sure, kitten frustrating when it’s a pug and not TS and people ignore others etc….but I like them
Also, the biggest thing I would like to see, is a multi-option spawn capability so that Bosses/Mob’s/Paths are not always 100% the same. IT would mix it up nicely. One might be relatively straight forward, one might be mid level and one might be a royal pain in the kitten – but the not knowing and having to complete it would be fun in my eyes
At this point? Anything new would be great.
King Frog Boss / Storm Wizard Fights. Just the fights, not the run there.
I mean not like we’re getting SAB back anytime soon.
Outside of that literally anything, Fall of Abbadon, Scarlet’s Invasion, Marrionette …..doesn’t matter just give me something
There’s so much backstory and general lore they have buildup from GW1 to use on fractals they could literally release monthly fractals until the game goes down and they would never run out of original stuff, so yeah, just bring in anything.
I mentioned in my other thread that one of the things I would like to see is the founding of Arah, another fractal I would love to see is the period of history that the game is named after: the literal “Guild Wars”. But with so much background lore they could literally make hundreds of fractals without running out of things to do.
They could even remake the bonus missions from Guild Wars 1. (For those who don’t know about them, they were these short missions where you took control of an NPC, the missions were four in total and encompassed: Gwen’s flight from the Charr, Master Togo negotiating an end to the Tengu Wars, Turai Ossa’s victory over Palawa Joko, and Saul d’Alessio chasing out the Charr from Kryta.)
If we ever get SAB back, we could have a fractal where we, as our characters, end up in some scrambled SAB world and have to contend versus various enemies whilst avoiding Moto’s attempts of successfully fixing the bugs that suddenly appeared in its program (us players, if it wasn’t clear enough).
The boss fight could have the players helping Lord Vanquish versus Princess Miya and the hero.
It would be amusing.
The opposite of swamp:
We play as Mossman/Bloomhunger and are supposed to kill 5 NPC that look like our characters. Each of the real players is only able to use 1 skill that Mossman/Bloomhunger uses.
Just to spice up the regular swamps of the mist ;3
UW ir DoS fronteras gw1 for remember the old days
New frac which I want see:
1) Rata Novus !!
2) Charge with Pact fleet into maguma
3) rytlock jorney trough mists.
This is my list which fracs I want see. But definetly I want rata novus!
So.. I start play scrapper. "
They could scrap dungeons as they are atm and make them new fract maps.
if only you could actually see any fractal but swamp you mean?
edit: whatever it is just the boss fight otherwise it’s going to be swamp daily all over again after the first few successes
Join the Rainbow Pride

I also wanna see the golem uprising!
The Canach boss fight from one of the releases, I think it was season 1.
I’d like to see some hints at the distant future of guildwars, I vaguely remember reading once that this was a possibility.
Heck, why not a glider fractal where gliders now carry weapons and each class has themed glider abilities…like engi gets heat seeking missiles, mesmers create gliding clones…I think there’s some randomness potential there.
On a more realistic note, I’d like to learn more about the intervening period between gw2 and gw1, as well as the forgotten. It’d be neat to see the forgotten with glint and how they were led to become the shining whatevers.
Or maybe we could just be wyverns destroying the pact fleet. That’d be fun too.
and where did the mursaat come from anyway? So many unanswered questions.

Um Urban Battleground is the Charr Invasion of Ascalon. That “massive spike of energy” is the Searing taking place.
Whatever they do, it ahs to balance between time vs reward and fun. Litteraly everytime the cliffside comes up in dailys I groan. People do swamp and molten boss cos its quick. I don;t mind doing the longer fractals but the rewards need to be better.
1) Palawa Joko-reigned Elona (preferably somewhere around present time to 50 years ago) where you, like the Urban Battleground Fractal, are thrown into the shoes of one of the warring factions (In this case, the undead Mordant Crescent) with the objective being Assaulting the last (known) Sunspear base and killing its leader (or something like that).
2) Also, Canthan fractal, where you fight besides Shiro Tagachi during his mission to subdue the Am Fah rebels back in 858 AE, which would be one of the most famous battles in the life of Shiro. We’d also get to see a part of him that wasn’t present in the original game due to him having gone mad and stuff.
With new fractals though, they could introduce Cooking 500 with Ascended food, which adds additional Agony Resistance on top of existing bonuses using ingredients you find in these new fractals, such as Duck meat in the Canthan Fractal and Elonian Spices in the Elonian Fractal. Both Fractals could drop recipes in the reward chests.
Thief – Duelist | Ranger – Strider | Engineer – Technician |
Elementalist – Spellweaver | Necromancer – Warlock | Mesmer – Trickster |
I’d like to visit pre-searing catacombs. In Plains of Ashford, they are lazily erased, with only the entrance being opened.
A lot of the GW1 missions would make pretty good fractals, like the final Shiro fight, or the final fight with Abaddon.
Maybe something from the books, perhaps a battle against the bone golem in the first book?
Or something based on the dungeons of GW1?
i don’t recall the exact name of this story part, but i remember this beautifull crystall map, and on the final boss you battled golem made of crystall and you had to be attuned to specific colour to beat the golem. It would be shame if that map stays only for story purpuse, it’s big and interesting and battle machanic is different.
Raids in fractals. People have been asking for easy-mode raids but I don’t think that’s a good thing. So instead of that add the Raid bosses in Fractal format (for 5 people) with all the usual fractal rewards.
Want Raid rewards? Play the Raid.
Want to experience the story of the Raid? Play it in fractal form

This could work.
I want fractals that are heavy on jumping puzzles and more traditional puzzle solving, rather than just killing things. Like the Super Adventure Box, but GW2 mode. :P
“Blood Vs Blood” or whatever it was called from GW1.
Hmm well since fractals seems to focus on events in the past they could just add some of the dungeon content to factals, close off the old dungeons except for the story paths. Then use fractals as a sort of dungeon lobby/portal, while still rewarding dungeon tokens. Then use this mechanic add new dungeons. Since they have a team for fractals it gets to be the new dungeon team!
I’m kinda tired of the 3 fractal set up with not much in the way of rewards.
So basically make fractals the launch point for all dungeons and make the rewards for each path cleared to reflect the difficulty or length of the path. For example, easy paths may rewards rares, medium paths can rewards rares and exotics, stupid hard paths have a chance at ascended gears. Or perhaps the more difficult the path the more tokens you get, while adding ascended versions of gear to the dungeon token vendor for a crap ton of tokens. This would allow for a lot of freedom when adding new paths or content and adjusting the rewards as time goes by. It’s a total fractal rework that people may possibly find fun!
This idea came about because the dungeon rewards vendor got consolidated to one NPC, so I say consolidate dungeons and fractals, and take the best parts of both
Of course this is all entirely what I would like to see and my own opinion.

Well I suppose when they close down the LS2, I would like to see the
From “Point of No Return”
The Mystery Cave Encounter put in, just the Dragon Fight, really, don’t need the back story.
From “Seeds of Truth”
Meeting the Asura Encounter Put in. Only after the memory is Triggered, and we Escort Cathe, we don’t transform.
From “Tangled Paths”
Into the Labyrinth that would be a long fractal, but a fun one.
I want the Abbadon fractal.
Others that might be interesting, Saul invading the Charr camp (same mission from gw1 bonus pack) might be a good lore recap especially with how the story in the raid is playing out.
Battle of Divinity Reach. During the asura story you fight an asura from another reality who mentions a battle or fall of Divinitys Reach.
Golem uprising in Rata Sum. In RS npcs discuss what would happen in the golems lost control.

I could get behind this as well, I have already suggested Closing the Explorer Paths in the dungeons, if they are just going to Abandon them.
But, what they could do is have Each Explorer Path be it’s own Fractal, we would add 43 new Fractals this way, not including Aetherpath, which, to be honest, could and should be it’s own Dungeon.
Put in a Vendor at the end of the each of the Dungeon Fractals, that would sell Corresponding Dungeon Tokens for Fractal Relics at a 1:1 ratio.
Have Beating a Dungeon Fractal, count towards Dungeon Master.
Great idea overall.
Battle on the Breachmaker. Bring it back.

25 charracters
I would like to see a fractal where we fight a losing battle against Kralkatorrik and see how Destiny’s Edge lost that day.
maybe the fight with kraken near orr. the fight from the book. upon defeating it, we would see a cutscene of zhaitan creating tsunami. it would be awesome
The rescue of rytlock – what happened to him in the mists?
livia’s adventure to arah – we could be some shining blade escort or sth, and see what happened there
The Cataclysm
The rescue of rytlock – what happened to him in the mists?
Do we want that as a fractal? Fractals need to be short and very repeatable. Good for small snipets of history but not for something you would want any details with.

Anyone remember the riddles and puzzles from the the old RPGs like Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate 2? or the bridge puzzle in Dragon Age?
I think maps similar in idea to those might be fun, though I’m sure people would cry quite a bit lol.
Like: Solve the puzzle as a team within the time limit, if you succeed, you get a bonus chest and move on, if you fail, the forest comes alive, you fight it off, and move on.
Or rather than forest and trees coming alive (a tad overdone atm), perhaps the boulders and stones around you come alive, queue cool coming alive cinematic that lasts 3s
I want the Abbadon fractal.

From the LW S1:
Canach fight
Tower of nightmare – Going up each level against the toxic alliance
Defense of Lions Arch – going around each place in the city escorting people out
Assault on the Breachmaker – That fight had great mechanics and was super fun.
The Giant Clockwork Marionete – This could be an interesting one. You could make it as a standart mode, where the group goes together to each platform to sever the chains… OR, you could make it so the group has to split up for each chain at the same time and sever them at the same(ish) time… It would be interesting as a group content where the group needs coordination but is standing in different places fighting solo/duo
From LW S2
Glint’s lair
Shadow of the dragon
Battle of Claw Island where you play as the Risen and have to kill Sieran/Tybalt/Forgal.
Cleansing of Orr as a boss fight.
Tower of Nightmare side rooms.
Tower of Nightmare final boss fight as a boss fight.
Battle on the Breachmaker hologram fight retuned for Fractal size as a boss fight.
Avatar of Mordremoth as a boss fight including Migraine achievement on higher fractal levels.
Anyone remember the riddles and puzzles from the the old RPGs like Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate 2? or the bridge puzzle in Dragon Age?

You sound like someone that would love playing Dungeons and Dragons Online.
I did play it, but wasn’t willing to pay for something that honestly didn’t feel worth it, and as F2P you’re severely limited:(
(I did pay for some things to support em, easy enough to do if you like the game enough, but their business model was very meh)

This could work to a point. I could see the Rewards for Completion being benign (IE: No legendary stuff) in the “Non-Agony” fractal levels, but once you get to the Fractal Level where you need Agony Resist, this would become “Raid Boss with a Gear-Check and Mist-Instability” It would be fitting that they should get in on the Legendary Action.
With that minor change, I think that would be a great solution.
toxic hybrid fight, just get him on steroids
some exciting eye of zhaitan/mouth of zhaitan fight (maybe the one from orr cleanse story step, just on steroids)

No, because those encounters would be scaled down to 5 man and fractal difficulty, i.e. they’re considerably easier than the normal raid versions, besides the instability which may or may not be annoying.
As for fracs; Battle on the Breachmaker as has been said, maybe something related to the war between Balthasar and Menzies, or something to do with Luxon and Kurzick.

Less People =/ Less Challenge.
And there is no such thing as a Mist Instability that is not Annoying.
A fractal with an enemy that doesn’t hit a random player with incredible huge amount of damage.
Give us more stuff to do in the fight, jobs we have to fullfill and make the fights a bit more controlled.

Mechanics would require less people to pull off. Balance would have to be made for 5 people. It would’ve been balanced to be on par with other fractals because if they were to put something with the difficulty of a raid encounter into the otherwise rather easy fractals, large parts of the community would go completely ballistic. So no, if raid encounter (variants) make it into fractals, they would not be on the same difficulty as actual raid encounters and they should not reward anything related to raids.
