Well I’ll definitely take a look at it during the weekend. Right now I have a super fun Bleeding build that I don’t know if I want to give that up for Torment if its not substantial. Especially if the burning dmg is minimal. I guess I should have expected that with the Guardian elite spec coming out though.

Recent patch made torment aswell as confusion have the same base dmg as bleed now. Idk if that makes you feel different about it.

Please help me deal with you guys while roaming in wvw. I play a power necro (ikr?) and i usually have a great time while roaming. Today i came across this thief who was running some sort of condition dmg build. From what i can guess he ran d/d. We had 2 fights and both fights from what i can tell all he did was dodge. I seen him use only 1 other skill and that was cloak and dagger. Constantly no matter what i did he evaded all my attacks while at the same time applied torment and tons of bleeds. I had about 20 stacks of bleeds on me almost always. Everytime i try to use condi clear, he would dodge them. Please help me do better or win against this type of build. It gets very frustrating when i cant even hit my target at all and i die for it.

Hey im looking for a build for my rev for open world pve. I dont really play him much and would like to start playing him in pve but i dont know a good build for it. Can anyone help me out?

I was running axe lastnight while roaming in wvw and i had plenty success. I usually run gs/staff but decided to test axe/warhorn out after the buffs to axe. I did notice that the boon corrupt on axe 3 doesnt corrupt aegis and instead gets blocked. It was pretty annoying when it came to fighting guards/dh. I might try axe and focus today after class but i do like daze.

i am having trouble being able to play the game ever since the server problems yesterday. i am not sure if what i am experiencing now and what happened yesterday are related but can someone help me nonetheless? i tried to log into my elementalist today who is in the silverwastes map but for some reason i am getting stuck on a long loading screen and then eventually disconnect from the game. someone on reddit then recommended guesting to a different sever, i tried that and it did not work. i then tried to log on to a different character whom was in ember bay, i was able to log in but had very bad lag and my ping was in the 2000’s. i have tried restarting my router 5 times and it does not help. my other devices seem to have no problems with my wifi so i do not know for sure if my wifi connection is the problem. im not very tech savvy so if someone can help me it would very much be appreciated, i really want to play this wonderful game.

So today i was roaming with a guild mate in wvw when we came across a mesmer and a rev. I was the first to die in the fight, then my guild mate. After the fight was over, my guild mate called me trash. He asked how do i die so quickly when i am a necromancer with tons of hp. He then called my build trash.

I am running marauder stat armor, zerker weps and trinkets. I use gs/staff and strength runes in my armor. I rune spite, soul reaping, and reaper. As for utilities i run shout heal, rise, flesh wurmand suffer with shout elite.

Please give me suggestions and please let me know if i am as trash as my guild mate says.

Hey fellow necros im in need of some suggestions on traits/utilities for my power reaper while roaming in wvw.

1) i cant seem to choose what utilities i should be using or what utilities go well with each other. I could never get used to having multiple shouts and i also cant seem to give up wells. Currently i use consume condition, rise, spectral armor, and corrupt boon with elite shout. Ive been doing ok in fights with these but i feel i could do better.

2) as far as traits go, im having trouble picking what adept and grandmaster to use in the reaper line. Ive been using chilling nova adept trait which does provide a nice extra boost in dmg; however, i feel like that trait that reduces duration of movement impairing condi ( cant remember the name) might be more useful. Also i cannot decide between blighters boon and reapers onslaught.

I use a mix of zerker/soldier gear and my weps are staff/gs. And while im typing this i may as well ask for tips on handling kiters such as druids and others.

Just talked to an alienware person and he told me the cpu and gpu more then meet the minimum requirements for gw2, so i would no longer play at only 10 fps. Idk though i might go with it

That’s really not that great for the price (which is incredibly common for things from brick and mortar stores), and its GPU is incredibly weak. In addition, it’s got an AMD CPU, which means that it’s not the greatest for GW2. In general, a prebuilt at your budget is going to be really lacking in one (most likely 2) aspects- GPU or CPU (most likely GPU) and power supply. If you really don’t want to build a computer, you could likely just find a prebuilt with a solid CPU and add a power supply and graphics card.

Although, now that I think about it, those Alienware Alphas for $500 are actually all right for a $500 prebuilt; i3+750ti(ish) and I’ve seen them on sale for like $350-400. Even though it’s $500 I don’t think you could do much better straight out of the box with a prebuilt.

I’m not being a jerk, I’m being honest. Maybe brutally so but there are players with systems that are 5-7x more expensive complaining that the game isn’t running “well”. I’m far better than someone spinning a list of parts that in the end will cost way, way more than your declared budget and getting your hopes up then dashing them.

If you could tell us what you currently have then maybe we could recommend a system that is far better but may not meet your nebulous requirement of “well”. But being realistic a new rig, excluding the OS, is at least $500-600 including case and PSU. Maybe a $100 cheaper with sales and rebates.

But a maximum $400 cash on the barrelhead, I don’t see that being possible.

Im currently playing a n hp touchsmart notebook, it isnt really meant for any gaming. I do have a desktop that my father built when i was younger but its about 11 years old. I was told this isnt even worth upgrading and it would be best to build a new one.

I just want to be able to play the game with a higher fps that 10. At times it is even hard to type a sentence because of the lag. If $400 isnt a realistic price then please tell me a price that works.

hello all, i was wondering what would be the better option? buying a new computer or upgrading my current one.

this computer was made for me by my father when i was around 12 (im 23 now). my wish is to have a decent gaming comupter so that i may enjoy guild wars 2 much more than i do atm.

i currently play this game on a laptop not meant for gaming (its a touchsmart notebook). with this laptop i hardly enjoy the game due to atrocious fps, and terrible graphics.

i was looking at my old computer which my father built and was wondering if i should just upgrade it or buy a new one. I dont know much at all about computers so i was wondering if someone could give me a hand and tell me what i would need to buy?

Hello all, I recently got a new laptop as a birthday gift from my father. I was wondering if this machine will be able to run gw2.

The laptop is an HP Pavilion Touchsmart Notebook.

Windows 8 64 bit operating system.

If it can run gw2 then cool but i also have another question. The laptop doesnt have a disc drive, how would i be able to install gw2 into the laptop? Will a flash drive work?

As groups or blobs get larger, wells get more effective because they have better odds of affecting the maximum of five targets each pulse.

But wells are useful even if they don’t hit 5 targets with every pulse.

If you want to use wells you should keep 3 things in mind:

1. Cosume Conditions > Well of Blood.

2. Well of Suffering is the only well that has more synergy with power builds. Every other well can be used by any build to its full effectiveness.

3. Resist the temptation of using any well-related trait. The one expection being Focused Rituals for zerg fights, but generally you want to avoid stuff like protection, life leech or cd reduction. Those traits are just not worth the point investment.

Generally, a regular condi build with Well of Darkness/Corruption/Power totally works.
You might get more out of other utility skills in some situations (Epidemic and Corrupt Boon comes to mid here) but it’s not like you are compromising your solo- or group-roaming effectivness by using wells.

Fun fact: the only non-necro dark field in the entire game is Shadow Refuge.
Naturally people wont attack when they are stealthed, so the benefits of that combo field are barely ever realised. And you rarely ever see teams consciously doing combos with a necro’s dark fields, but arguably they’re the most underrated and useful combo fields in almost any team fight. Either you blind or you steal life for a very good amount of extra damage and healing.

Btw, since the last patch we’re able to use wells under water. And we actually have two whirl finishers on spear, one of them pulling all foes closer to us. It’s like half of a main heal if you combo both finishers in a dark field.

So yeah, pick any build and just use some wells. It works if you’re solo despite not being able use the combo field to it’s full potential. It can only get better when allies are with you.

And yes, AH is a bad build, avoid it or you will end up using it as a crutch and develop bad habits

A couple questions about the wvw roaming build.
1) with 13k hp and 1400 toughness, isn’t that a lil glass cannon? I’m used to being a necro so I’m a little worried about having such low hp.
2) the signet heal has a nice initial heal but wouldn’t shelter be better for the block?
3) are travelers runes still insanely expensive?

is that build an altruistic healing build? idk much about it but i hear AH isn’t good if you aren’t surrounded by allies

Hello fellow guardians! I’m new to this class and so far I am really enjoying it. I’m am currently level 42 and well I’m starting to think about what build I would like for lvl 80.

I looked at this build I have seen on youtube called empowering wrath and I liked how it worked; however, the one of the main elements of the build (superior runes of strength) makes the build not so appealing to me due to its price.

So what I would like is for some tips on a build that does decent damage but isn’t squishy.

Also I would like to know if there is a guide on how to use virtues effectively? I find myself just spamming things willy nilly. Thank you.

The issue is an ele isn’t going to sit around twiddling his thumbs. If you’re a condi build you just don’t have the direct damage to get through regen, water-attunement regen and healing, and healing-skill healing.

This trait, as has been said billions of times, is just badly made. It is either worthless because its impossible to keep up, or far too strong because it never goes down.

This is why I feel it should have an internal cd or something. I don’t feel a class should be immune to some kind of dmg for an entire fight.

Btw, the ele I faced also had -40% condi duration food. That with diamond skin, all the regens and healing, plus zipping around while in d/d makes it impossible for a full condition dmg build to harm it.

Lich is easily avoidable by d/d ele and others, and has long cd

That trait is op as all hell. 1v1 an ele and since I’m condi necro he took no dmg from me at all. I can’t get him to less than 90% hp cuz all my skills are condis.

This is a ridiculous trait and should be changed. Maybe it should have a cd or something but something needs to be done.

I think the problem is swapping to a weapon that doesn’t have the sigil. I noticed this today on land. I had 15 bloodlust stacks when I had my dagger during a fight, while in the fight I swapped weapons and my stacks went away.

This is really lame and should be fixed.

Just logging in earlier today I received about 11 whispers in a row from gold sellers.

All were reported. This is getting really annoying. Only thing that made it stop was going into invisible status.
