We don’t need more space. We need fewer different currency-items and all this stuff. Put the endless-tonics into a own register like the minis. Get a valuable use for all the dragonit, bloodstone etc., don’t design twenty another keys for some chests. Or another boost for xp, magic find etc.

Why does it always seems to me, that every specialisation gets a deepen concept and in the end the developers says: oops, we need something for ranger … put something together.

The druid was first announced and didn’t get a beta so it was released with a clumsy mechanic (as clumsy as the revenant :P )

And in the trailer there was only the information that he fights with dagger and can combine with his pet. (Just 30s of information while other specialisation get 35-56s). In addition, the german comunity manager said, that he don’t know the current state of the ranger. There were concepts of a permanent petless class and temporary petless class.

I’ve low expectations -.-

- Finally fix the hilt bash range bug
- Fix entangle, that everybody cant just run out of an weak elite with swiftness
- Fix ranger shouts to use underwater
- Fix casttime of serpents strike and hornet string, so you can use it for what it exists: evade
- Fix Path of scars Aoe-targeting to player targeting or direction targeting
- Fix spirits …
- Fix muddy terain aoe targeting and casttime
- Fix birds Aoe swiftness casttime. At start of fight the bird cast its aoe swiftness skill and needs too long to reach enemy.
- Fix all casttimes of pet active skills
- Fix druid leaving avatar form, when using enlargement
- Fix auto unpacking pet, when take damage
- Fix Glyphs, avatar, staff-skills … or better just finish druid beta status

I’ve a problem with my weapons and my inventory. everytime, when I change from two single-handed weapon to a two-handed, my firsthand wepaon get the position of the two-handed weapon in my inventory. The off-hand weapon is somewhere else.

It would be much more fun, that the off-hand weapon stay at the off hand. The bonus and weapon vanish for the player-character. But if I will change back the weapons, I don`t have to search for my off-hand-weapon anymore.

My english is not the best and maybe i’m misinterpreting something. I think the lyrics of the song “fear not this night” describes exactly the current events at the end of the Living Story 2.

So i think it is written for the fight of the sylvari against Mordremoth. It fits to other dragon fights, but especially some vocabulary (shadows, nightmare, sound[less]) reminds me of the sylvari and the dragon.

I would prefer to get lower tier leather or cloth. In low level zones is just a small chance to get them, if you’re lvl 80.

Why is it so much more “fun” to stand apart and press 2 on your longbow than stand closer to each other and share boons, cleanse conditions, have common projectile defense?
….

Cause I want to see something of the game or at least the enemy. Instead I can only see the butts of my team in my face and bang my head on the keyboard … this is fun, indeed -.-

Many classes too strong in survivability. There are permanent dodges, permanent invul or resilence or block or dodge and permanents auras with fast heal. Every second opponent couldn’t be hitted by any ranger arrow without unblocking.

The dagger of soulbeast ist too slow. skill 2 is just a better auto attack. skill 3 has a too short range and a very clunky landing.
Ranger lose beastmode by water contact and soulbeast aura is too long in duration
Ranger couldn’t change pet in beastmode.
Many pet/sb skills are useless:
SB bird swoop is just 400 distance instead 1200 and a clunky landing
SB Devourer retreat needs stealth and the pet skill needs something other
PET pig F2 is useless and clunky from beginning
SB feline bite is worser than an autoattack!!
Change the “big” damage to something utility (drake tail swipe i.e.)
Most SB attacks are just worser than the pet skills + the melee hit distance is very slow or casttime too long.
Primal cry, spiritual reprieve and worldly blast are just too slow. Primal cry needs better conditions.
List of all land pet skills

stances are too bad or bugged and there is no trait with reload reduction.
traits seems uninteresting. heal for poison seems nice, but it don’t really scale with an attribute.

Main hand dagger (alternative to the buggy one hand sword)
two handed staff (spirit builds)

2) Bo (melee + beast master support)
crossbow (slow dmg, fast interrupts)
whip (middle range, crowd control)

turtle <3,
little pets like racoon or rabbit

Something like the skill from the thief to pull enemies.
More Traps especially a elite trap, underwater trap and a trap to reveal thieves
weapon improvements, like poisons from thieves, but with other effects (burning arrows, explosives or something like that)

- Too much healing skills
- no dmg if you use cleric gear (heal, power, toughness) to support the healing skills
- cant hit any target on the start of the beta map. Every little plant is blocking projectiles in an enormous radius around them.
- daze around you on the staff is a little bit strange. It is really good for melee. But as the healer you’re in the background and don’t want to encounter in melee. Maybe a daze if you change from staff to another weapon. Or something else (light aura, muddy terain?)
- accidential push F5 two times and was immediatly leaving the avatar form, instead of entering. Need a little cool down on this button.
- Staff skill #4. I don`t know. It is hard to aim and you don’t win anything (too short immobilizing). The only situation i will use this is, when i’m running away and shooting root behing me.
- staff skill #3: The line of sight AoE-aiming is nice for most skills, but for a “leap”-skill it is bad. if you’re running stairs or hills, you cant use the full “leap”-range cause it isn`t in your line of sight.
- In WvW i couldn’t really test the avatar form. It seems to me that every class is running with 4/5 dazes/launches/knock downs. I couldn’t use a single skill in a 5 vs 5 fight. A small amount of stability would be nice. Maybe with trait that removes conditions while entering avatar form.
+ a big plus point. The ranger has it’s first non-projectile range-weapon! Yihaa. But see item #1 and #2 (only heal, no dmg) -.-

3/4 s oneshot dead with a thief rifle is balanced
A 2,5s rapid fire that halfs the opponents healthbar, when every arrow hits is imbalance. (Because it is ranger!)

Soulbeast gets many nice skills, but they all need too long activation time and you cant use it before you:
– get interrupted
– stop skill before recognizing that enemy has block/reflect/dodge/invulnerability
– die

I wish I could say, that i’m dissappointed about soulbeast. I expected it.

Or just play an elementalist. You don’t need to know the order of the skill activations. Just bang with your head on the keyboard and stand near the enemy. With a 50% chance you will hit an aura that kills the enemy for you. In average it is just two head bangs away

I hope that gw3 will go back to its root. A corpg with tactic and not just copy an imba build an faceroll over the board. A game with teamplay story missions and not running from one instance to another for just speaking with a trahearne, rytloch or thackeray. a game with build diversity, a counterplay for every meta build and a game where you understand what just right happens in a fight and why you died, instead of a millenium firework in each skill.

The Celestial Avatar need some improvement. We’ve no synergy with other weapons. Slow regeneration in small groups.

My suggestion for a “smoother” Celestial avatar.

  • Automatic regeneration of astral force, instead of attacks. (30 s for full regeneration)
  • Enter celestial avatar only at full astral force
  • No astral force degeneration while in avatar form or out of combat
  • Use astral force for avatar skills
  • Dont lose astral force by leaving avatar form, but keep the 10 s avatar cooldown.

With these simple points, you dont need a specific weapon for your avatar (staff). Instead of healing on staff autoattack, there could be a small burn or something.

I hope, that spirits are useful and druid finally leaves his beta status. But it will not happen.
The best thing anet could do, is nef everything in the ground. Maybe higher activation times for nearly all instant skills. At the moment there are so many skill bombs and too much invulnerability, stability and resistance/condi clean. There is no tactic, just push every button you’ve instant -.-

I have ever preordered all guild wars games / add ons. But after the bad druid joke, I don’t know what to do. I will buy the next expansion for sure, but I think I will not preorder, just to give a sign. In the forum, there will nobody hear you crying.

But maybe if more will buy it without preordering, colin will just say it is another great launch, cause more people were buying at launch -.-

They thought that nobody want a ranger in his team. Then they thought back to guild wars 1.
What do you need to get fast a party? Right, you must be a monk (non-smiting!!!).
Now the monk is called druid and his smite-skills are called “ranger-core-class”

Finally we get a team and we’re allowed to backline, but just with staff in your hand.

Next feature will be an autokick for weapon-switching-rangers -.-

Ok ok my statement is harsh, but i liked to play ranger/monk in gw 1 with healing breeze as healskill. But this elite spec is overacting healing. Maybe the problem is, that there is nearly no damage in this spec and just a few synergies with the ranger core-classes (longbow, trapper, beatmaster, spirit spamer, melee, …)

Improvements on soulbeast-beastskill

The new soulbeast skills look great so far (especially for ranger skills )
But some skills seems very low:

feline-skill bite:
560 dmg, melee, on 1 target, 8s reload
Its nearly the melee dmg of greatsword-autoattack. But Auto attack reload is faster and has 3 targets … So I think it is really bad.

Devourer-skill devourer retreat:
a 3/4s dodge, distance 300, reload 15
Just another dodge with reload 15 and hard to use, cause it is a beast-skill.

Spider-skill Entangling web:
projectile, 900 distance, 1 target, 3s immobilize, 20s reload.
Projectiles are useless, cause of the thousands blocks, reflects, dosges etc. And 20s reload is too much for just 3s immo and a little dmg

What do you think about the beast-kills? If you don’t know where you can read the skills: Ranger beta character -> Pet Management screen

I almost never use skills 1, 2 or 5. When I use CAF it’s usually 4 then 3 then 4 then cancel CAF.

We’ve more than 2 skills in avatar form? Ooops I’ve never noticed :P
Just pushing 3 and 4 and fall out of my avatar form ^^
