Best time to sell the weapon skin drops?

There is a good chance SAB will be expanded on in a few months

How do you know that exactly?

Dev has been dropping hints about it and such, basically how they are working on more levels though they wont be out this month nor next sort of makes it sound like when the next levels finished it will pop up again for another month or so.

Adding onto this, if you just look into Josh Foreman’s posts he talks about how the SAB team has been made into a Living World team and makes several mentions about future plans, such as the World 2 release having Daggers and Rifles (and I can’t recall if he said hopefully pistols or yes to pistols). Not this month though, but in the future.

Well, I guess it’s still worth it to collect Bubbles, in case they do expand the game for the other skins, I might enjoy a Super Rifle or Super Pistol, or Super Wear.

Yeah, but keep in mind:

Farming is a bigger issue that I have some ideas about. I’m thinking of tying score to the amount of bauble bubbles you get in the end chests, so you’ll have to actually play the game instead of running from point A to B over and over. Doing that will obviously require re-balancing the cost of skins.

So there might/likely will be some skin cost changes in the future.

They may never even work on this again for all we know. The lead developer for it says it’ll all come down to the reception and how much people like it on whether or not more work time is allocated for it.

While very true, judging by its reception with a very large people overjoyed and loving it, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to expect them to continue work.

Why not include zone 3?

Zone 3 takes about 6 minutes while 1 and 2 are roughly 3 a piece. It makes it more efficient to skip the last zone and start over after 2.

Starting a new character, going through the tutorial, running to SAB, entering the zone and watching the cinematic takes roughly 3-4 minutes, so, it actually would be more time efficient to do zone 3.

Assuming
Z1 is 3 min
Z2 is 3 min
Z3 is 6 min
Reset is 4 min

Z1+2, 4 per run
10 minute runs, so 6 runs in an hour so 24 per hour

Z1+2+3, 6 per run
16 minute run, so 3.75 in an hour, so 22.5 (18 for 3 runs, 24 for 4)

Its close but not quite.

I completely agree with the OP. The Super Adventure Box had (and will have, once I’m back form work) me grinning like an idiot the whole time playing. The 8-bit midi music, the awesome world and art (all you Playstation-era kiddies can just go to hell. It looks awesome) and the gripping storyline is great. Interfere with MY picnic will you?! Only thing that would make it better is a proper rectangular controller (and some holographic Dagger skins. Seriously. What the hell?)

That’s another option to bring the 5th as a Guard and have him hit that ult, but then it’d cut back on the Toss Elixir R from 100% to 80% down’d hp/s

I think with Fire Salsa and Runes of Mercy, the most health we can rally with is 55% of our health pool. Base rally health is 25%. Salsa increases it by 100% (25%) and Mercy revives allowed with 20% more (5%) so a rally at 55% means we would be able to sustain an additional hit if agony dmg is below that. Now, if that Mercy bonus stacks, then that would give everyone 70% health on rally (25% + 25% + 5%x4) which I doubt the mechanic operates in this way.

All this is based on what the description says, I didn’t run Mercy runes very long wo it could mean an additional 20% to the overall health pool. When I did run it I never paid attention to how it applied either haha

Actually 5x Elixir R in itself my be enough to sustain, Super Elixir would be icing to the cake I suppose. But that’s only a 6 second duration, which the first tick of R would have to tick right after the first tick in downed occurred.

Yeah it was your thread haha and Elixir S(hrink) toss is the Invis or Stability. That was my initial thought but the agony might out endure the Toss Elixir R so something like Medkits and Super Elixir with the goal of not even hitting downd and Elixir R toss being there as a safety net. Good to hear that the toss will be a guarantee reflect. Although I run S and R the majority of the time. And that would possibly continually down/rally the engineer which would possibly destroy the victim as well.

So I’m sitting in class (not paying attention obviously) and had an idea that triggered from another engineer thread weeks ago that mentioned the idea of a 5-engi fractal.

I don’t know how well it could be executed and i have not crunched the numbers but wonder if in theory, a team of 5 engineers could make maybe a 35+ AR engineer survive the agony of a 40 or even 50+ fractal.

If all 5 or 4 executed skills such as:
-Multiple bandage drops stacked
-Super Elixir
-Toss Elixir R
-Supply crate post agony start for more bandages and healing turrets
-Possibly traited bombs to heal spam

There might be enough bandages and small heals to keep one alive, if not at least survive into the downd state, which then the excess of turrets could possibly tank agro from the a maw’s laser. Granted these agony ticks hurt a ton and might not be possible at all. Or maybe for only frac 40+ with 40+ AR. But that would be determined by number crunching.

Any thoughts if this could provide enough heals to keep one engineer up? I’m a fractal 49 but rarely do I see another engineer in fotm.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Seeing all these ecto forums makes me wish I had actually kept track of when I went through about 12+ BLS Kits….

Not nerfed though, I’m still maintaining a roughly same salvage rate. Some nights I’ll pull out 10+ ectos from 5 rares, other nights only 1 or 2.

OP, and everyone really, please remember RNG is RNG (as tiring and ridiculous as it is to keep hearing that) and it’s easier to stick to a negative viewpoint (Only 5 ectos from 10 rares? NERF’D!) as opposed to positive (17 Ectos from 10 rares? Must have been a buff!) [Combine those two situations and you just pulled in 22 ectos from 20 rares]

Alkron.1345

Well I’m trying but there’s a ridiculous amount of update notes… was hoping for a sum-up..
Also.. what’s ascended gear?

Yeah I know what you mean, essentially, a ton of nerfs and buffs. It’s hard to consolidate it all.

Fractals of the Mist is a new set of mini-dungeons essentially. You run 3 mini-dungeons and on even levels (Start Personal Level 1, do a set of fractals, advance to Personal Level 2) and on those even level fractals (2,4,6, etc) there’s an additional boss. You may or may not have been around for that but by asking what Ascended Gear is, I assume you weren’t.

Ascended gear is a new tier of gear slightly better than exotic (maybe 1-5% better? in stats tops?) I personally find it marginal, however, it can give you Agony Resistance (AR) which is used to mitigate Agony, which occurs in boss fights, best described as a condition, however it can’t be mitigated and isn’t truely a condition, in Fractals Level 10+ (Agony damage increases every 10 levels so you need more and more AR over time).

Honest question here. Why do you use 4 pirates and 2 noble runes?

I know I use 5 pirates and one of something else that gives +MF because the last stat for Superior Rune of the Pirate only summons a bird, and does nothing for MF. It’s better to skip the 6th rune and replace it for something that ups MF instead of having an essentially wasted spot.

Yeah I meant 5 Pirate, 1 Noble whoops! I’ll go edit that haha But like Jeahanne said, I skip the 6th rune to sub in 1 Superior Noble for an additional 10% MF

in Players Helping Players

Alkron.1345

Keep in mind what people forget with Magic Find is it only improves the base chance of better stuff dropping. 300% magic find only means you have 4x whatever that base chance is (so if it’s 1% now it’s 4% – still tiny).

Some people actually think 20% magic find means a 1/5 chance of something (or something better) dropping.

You mean my 200% magic find doesn’t mean I get 3 rares instead of 1? jk haha

Like Shimond said, it essentially helps make a small chance, less small. I’ll typically see more blues/greens than whites in a full set.

And in map chat, if any elitist sees that question you can expect them to shoot it down. It’s a pretty mixed feeling topic at times.

oh, and that 98g included all exotic costs. not just materials.

Yeah I feel you, after a while it’s a pain to level (5 lvl 80s right now and one in the 20s, which only happened cause I was helping teach a newbie the ropes of the game so I ran with him)

Oh that makes more sense then. I also trimmed costs by having materials, once I burned through my collectibles it definitely started denting my wallet.

Alkron.1345

My ranger typically has no MF whatsoever and it still finds rares on a regular basis.

I added 22% MF with a consumable and the whole duration all I got was junk, 1 rare, and copper and a few blues. No greens at all. This was during a Fractals run and I can tell you , same difficulty level without any MF would yield much better loot.

As previously stated, 22% is near nothing for MF. A single sample run means absolutely nothing.

Here’s something that has a slightly larger grounds:
When running MF gear (Exo Armor, 5x Pirates, 1x Noble, Omnom Bar/Peach Tart, maybe a few other points thrown in via Guild/Banners/etc) I saw a noticeable increase in Shards of Mist Essense (up to 3 per run, often at least 1) however, once I transitioned out of my MF set for higher fractals, my Shard collection count has noticeably dropped, occasionally 1 per run, only a couple times in over 20 runs have I acquired 2 shards in no MF.

Overall, when leveling from 10-26, I was pulling 2-3 Globs/Mist (Globs in 10-19, Shards 20+) per run on average while in MF Gear. After I cut the MF Gear, 0-1 on average.

That’s is an effect of MF I believe (from what I could tell, people were complaining about never seeing any of those mist drops while I was pulling in several so I believe it’s the MF).

Also to remember, MF is very difficult to statistically show as justified and much easier to say it’s not, such as you have shown. Personally, having played months with 100%+ MF, I’ve seen a positive effect of MF.

Edited – Changed 4x Pirate, 2x Noble to 5x Pirate, 1x Noble. Small mistake whoops haha

How are people so sensitive to leveling via crafting? You’re not the one doing it. Is it so insulting or hard to believe that someone simply doesn’t want to go through all of that PvE content again? How about people that enjoy the endgame more than the process of getting there? It’s still a part of the game, so why is it any different from playing to enjoy the early levels? How about people that like the PvP content (sPvP and WvW)?

Agreed.

Personally, after my first alt, the level 10-50 range became hell for me since after 100% map completion, seeing all the hearts and areas again lost its allure, on top of not having a full spectrum of skills and traits.

MF gear

in Players Helping Players

Alkron.1345

Personally, I find it a worthwhile investment. It’s an upfront investment for a longterm payoff. Keep in mind it’s a very difficult statistic to justify and there is a prejudice against MF in groups.

In short, MF pays off long run, you won’t necessarily see short term gains. I acquired my two sets for my Engi and Mes long ago before the prices spiked, and its an exotic set to minimize how much I hurt my stats. Also, I find if you can play skillfully, it works fine. If you plan to use it for more than just farming dynamics, get exotic.

If it helps you justify it any more, Knight’s armor is main stat Toughness, alt stats Power/Prec. Explorer’s armor is main stat Magic Find, alt stats Power/Prec. So literally it’s a trade of Toughness for MF and if you can play to where you don’t need the toughness, it’s essentially equal to Knight’s. If you’re going to pick MF Runes, pick a set that will be most beneficial to your play as well.

I often run MF because with my build I can make up for the tradeoff for toughness, however, for more difficult content you won’t see me in MF (Ex: Frac 40+ you won’t even see me with a MF food buff)

well, just thought i would share with you how easy it can be to lvl a toon to 80.

Jeeze! That’s a ton still…when I powerlevel’d my alt’s via crafting it didn’t cost nearly that much, and more often I did just base level 10 to 50-60 and the rest I did dynamic chains so I could get a better feel for the class than going in fresh at 80.
