To be perfectly honest, everyone on the map who left their inital side to help south made the situation worse… It’s fine for a side to ask for help but most people should know better and remain where they are. Many pugs who don’t know how scaling works can quickly and easily scale events out of control.

Your best bet was never to go help south, it was to remain where you were and waited.

For the past 2 years The Dreamer’s unique sound has always had a chance to just not play and the user would only hear the default shortbow sound when shooting an arrow.

This issue does not affect other players who hear the shortbow being used, only the user of the bow.

As of the past few days I’ve started to use the bow again and 100% of the time I hear the default shortbow attack sound and have not once heard the unique sound The Dreamer is supposed to make.

I put in 1000’s of gold into this item that does not even function properly whatsoever anymore. Please fix…

Edit: For the people that think I’m stupid, zooming in doesn’t generate the proper noise, the sound is completely REPLACED by the default shortbow sound.

The reason why conquest sucks is because its all about holding a small point smaller than the range of most ranged weapons and promotes bunker play.

The reason courtyard sucks is because it is a poorly thought out map with far too many objects to hide behind (some is fine but not that much). Also they mixed it in with the conquest maps which was plain stupid, totally different game types.

The reason stronghold sucks is because it is heavily NPC reliant. Any PvP game should never rely so heavily on NPCs. It promotes bunker and healer play which leads to unkillable players & NPCs alike.

The reason why PvP sucks as whole is a large variety of reasons. Zero build diversity, zero innovation, constant removal of stat choices, inept developers, dumbed down state of the game, and much more…

What? I can easily loot up to 40 grand chests in the 15~20 minutes I have after beating the Octo, provided they all end before the :15 mark. Even when I have to switch to other toons due to lack of maps, I’m still able to loot that many grand chests, it’s all about picking the right class with high mobility like a thief or a herald for perma-Swiftness and Quickness when opening the chest.

only 40? If your not getting a minimum of 50 your doing it wrong…

Edit… I agree the ab multimap should be nerfed hard… but that being said i’ve abused the crap out of it…

PvP is a joke… Get used to it… Ever since HoT was released you either play the current most powerful class or half the players in every match does… Remember necro, when there was a minimum of 4 per match with 6 being the average?

Honestly I can’t PvP anymore unless its just screwing around with some friends and we don’t care if we win or not… I just can’t take PvP seriously in this game anymore since balance obviously isn’t important whatsoever to Anet…

I rolled for dawn in the MF 2ish year ago… It costed me nearly 1k in exotics but I pulled Dusk out of the toilet… Sold it for 1.2k (I lost 15% of that to tp fees)… I then bought Dawn with what was left over…

The thing is though.. It could have taken loads more exotics to get it, or even loads less… It’s called RNG…

Simple reason it will never happen. Anet makes money selling Bank Tabs, Bank Space and Inventory Expanders.

uhm… who buys those things because of crap ascended mats? I bought all 14 bank tabs for my tons of ascended armor & weapons, not because of some worthless mats… I got 1,000 storage space for all mats because I wanted to be able to only have to refine my stuff once every 2~3 days instead of twice a day with only 250…

Your post seems rather pointless… Making these items have no time gate would have no effect on their bottom line what so ever excluding the 2~3 crazy ppl who think one day they’ll make a bajillion gold from their stash of 25,000 blood stone bricks…

Or they could just let us SELL these ascended matts?

I’d personally be happy if they were only worth 1 copper each and the merchant would buy the garbage… I’ve grown tired of deleting stack after stack of the garbage…

And even if they do manage to get everything to be the same gold/time, then players will just farm the easiest. Because that has the lowest chances of failure.

That alone pretty much nails it… Even if everything gave the same gold/hr everyone would do that content…

Even if harder content gave more gold people would go the route with the highest gold/hr with the lowest chance of failure… T4 fractals give great gold/hr but fewer people do it because its hard…

The F2 on tiger is no joke, I tend to use it and bristleback for pve for their f2 busts and fury uptime from tiger

Just to be clear when I say I desync I mean I can still run around watching players doing things. I however am unable to use any skills and my character may be moving but the servers think I’m still standing when I desynced (monsters near where I desynced will still kill me even though I see myself very far away from them).

I know its not because of lag because I’ve had that issue many times and I will see people rubber banding non stop & it is extremely obvious. I don’t know how I can be the only person with this issue.

Now I’m having issues desyncing after cutscenes & even more frequently during normal gameplay. After I completely shut down the client and restart things start going normally again for a while but it eventually gets to the point I need to do a total restart.

Over the past few weeks I’ve had more and more desync problems. My ping has never been great but I never once had legitimate desync issues until the LW update. I’ve had typical lag where everything in the game is slow to respond to any of my actions but it always affected everything at once (game play, chat, guild system, etc).

The issue I have now my game play is becoming completely desynced from all other aspects of the game. My chat works fine, the guild panel is responsive, but anything my character can physically interact with become completely unresponsive. Even at a ping of 200~300 I can become completely desynced and have no control of what happens to my character for up to 2 minutes (the problem eventually fixes itself) or I go to character select and come back into the game.

Honestly I can’t play the game like this and this needs to be fixed ASAP.

Buy X convert to Y and sell Y.

Gold is about all you can convert to and your returns will vary. Wildly.

Basically this… The only downside is this is extremely tedious and if you have 3k shards like me it would take you hours of double clicking in front of the mystic forge (unless you use a script like me to click for you). Honestly I wish anet would add a “do this recipe x times” like you can do with crafting and have it go much faster.

Perfect is the enemy of good. IMO, it’s far better to downgrade to the cheaper variants of consumables and enjoy what you like playing with stats that are a little less than the very best than have to spend time grinding gold to afford the best buffs.

Exactly, you can pay 1g for the permanent outfitter item in WvW, then use badges to buy the “next best” food to use and it costs nothing. Bam, 40g saving per week.

As stated this is for wvw. 40 players running food that gives 60 stats going against a group of players with food giving 80 stats is a difference of 800 stats (basic example). Include the fact you be fighting near a tower with all those guild buffs that gives the enemy another 200 stats per player higher than your group…

You see how this rapidly snowballs out of control right? Much of this is fundamental problem wrong with WvW (such as giant stat boosts from buffs) but working with the system we currently have 10~20 stats spread across enough players is a pretty huge difference.

As it stands it is either use the best food & have the best chance at winning or using subpar food and limiting yourself.

They’re just stats. If the combined stats increases DPS of a single player by 5%, it increases the DPS of the entire affected group by 5% as well.

I also recall celestial giving more stats that the other stats sets. Does this mean players are better off all running celestial?

Guild Objective Auras – 100 power, 100 precision, 100 toughness, 100 vitality
Presence of the Keep – Players gain double the effectiveness of the keep’s objective aura

I could be wrong but don’t ALL of those stats effect ALL power builds making them hit harder, crit more often, and tankier? Even with most condi builds this is beneficial as most still use precision & all benefit from the extra tankiness.

Also comparing 4 stats to celestial is like comparing apples to oranges, sure they are both fruit but really aren’t similar…

Makes sense. Anywho, the anet econ guy has said they like to give new players a way to make money, which is why early crafting materials tend to be really expensive. New players have no need for mystic coins but do need money, and people wanting luxury items worth thousands of gold need the coins.

Seems like an intentionally designed system.

Actually you never specified on what you think anet will do until I responded to your first post. You left it “its not a priority for anet” when I was looking for a defined answer of one or the other.

I honestly don’t care if the price is lowered or not as I could afford to buy all the coins I needed to craft 500 clovers if I needed.

Clovers drop from the PvP tracks, so my semi-educated guess is it’s not something anet is terribly worried about.

I’m well aware of clovers being available from both PvP & WvW tracks. That has no impact on what I’m asking.

I’m asking if you think anet will allow mystic coins to keep increasing in price or if they will add a new way to obtain them that will drop their price drastically.

Unlike most posts on the subject I’m not going to complain about the availability/cost of them. Instead I want some opinions on what you think is going to happen with them.

I’m planning to craft twilight soon & as we all know it currently costs in the ballpark of 300g worth of ecto & coins just to roll for clovers on average. Most of us should also remember the many times anet has made worthless materials (t5 cloth & leather) into something worthwhile to sell on the TP, this also includes coins which were nearly worthless.

Many of us should also remember many items that were initially very costly but lost all value when more were added to the game, the most recent example being resonating slivers which were over 1g and now are at a whopping 10 copper.

I’m not asking for opinions on what you think anet SHOULD do, I want to know what you think anet WILL do when it comes to mystic coins.

I don’t get the complaint… You get them from daily log in & fractal rewards… Just do your daily fractals and you’ll get an extra 1~2 per week on average…

The reason they are so great and you get more ecto is because they are that rare… If they were endless it’d defeat the purpose of any other kit, crash the material market in a heartbeat, and to top it off be rather silly to have in the first place…

If you don’t want to do fractals then don’t complain about the lack of kits you get. I personally have 101 uses worth of kits and I use them rather liberally, I also almost always do my daily t4 fractals.

I don’t have an issue with the current system, I have an issue with many of the current guilds. Choosing not to represent a guild doesn’t mean your choosing to not take part in its’ conversations as you can talk to all your guilds now without having to represent them.

Personally I run a very small guild (about 10) and I encourage them to join other guilds for their guild hall buffs and to fill their social needs. As I run such a small guild I don’t feel obligated to provide a fully decked out guild hall & I don’t expect people to only talk to the same few other people.

100% representation is a plague as it actually limits the number of people you can potentially meet and I will never support this. This is coming from a player who played GW1 for thousands of hours and was involved in many guilds & was an officer for most that I was apart of.

Even Anet agreed that representing only a single guild was bad in GW1 so we were given alliances. That increased the number of guilds we could contact to 7 or 8 (I don’t remember, it has been too long). Being allowed to communicate with so many guilds at once opened up so many doorways to meet new players and make more friends.

TL;DR… More guilds = more opportunities to make friends & 100% representation is bad for everyone.

Edit: I do however understand forcing members to rep while doing guild activities such as WvW, PvE map events, and PvP.

I know many of you fundamentally disagree with the removal of build items – and that’s fine. I understand where you’re coming from, but I hope you understand why we use this as a tool for balancing PvP specifically.

The whole point of having a dedicated PvP team should be to balance it & your failing beyond miserably at it… You’ve failed so hard you have driven away many players that have either left the game entirely or just the game mode never to be seen again…

Aren’t they more like trying to salvage whatever that PvE Profession balance Team has broken for PvP?

If anything, you should be happy that decided to remove Durability Runes and not add broken stuff like Perplexity and Dire. If you look at that perspective, you’d see they’re somewhat actually trying within the limits of their power.

The only thing you can salvage from a steaming pile of crap is other slightly less digested crap…

Certain things obviously don’t belong in PvP such as durability runes and the like but there are many traits that obviously don’t belong there either in their current form…

To be completely honest the game should be balanced around WvW & PvP and you can adjust boss hp & mechanics to fit those numbers. The only reason to have skills doing massive damage is to deal with bosses with massive hp. The only reason to have massive tanking ability is deal with bosses with extreme damage.

Lower PvE numbers & you can lower PvP numbers. Base fights around class mechanics that work for PvP because that CAN work in PvE. Do not base PvP around class mechanics that work for PvE because that does not work.

New hair colors but not accessories?

It makes no sense to me that we have about 90 hair colors now (half are exclusive) but we still have the same default 21 accessory color.

It just limits the actual number of hairstyles viable to me as I actually go very far out of the way to match up my hair color & style with my armor. Many of the new hair colors do not match the old accessory color so please look into expanding this…

Tbh I just remedied the situation by buying a permanent bank contract but I also know this isn’t an option for everyone.

In guild banks your able to name each tab (or give it a description if that’s what you do for yours). I would like the ability to do the same with our personal banks. The passive for SotW seems great for charging up Celestial Avatar so I would keep it even though its healing is kind of low.

The movement speed is what seems least necessary on SotW’s active. One of the things Ranger (LB Ranger in particular) desperately needs IMO is some kind of unblockability, since Anet is probably just gonna sit on its hands with regards to toning down the excessive projectile-hate they put in with HoT. I would replace the movement speed with 8s of unblockable attacking.

I agree with this as being a viable option. I do however sometimes find myself being saved by that movement speed when I get outnumbered in fights by using the signet, stealth, and go +1 another fight while 2~3 people try to find me.

If you really want to see SotW’s true power play a berserker or marauder pet boon share build, get yourself 25 might stacks, pop SotW, PBS, rapid fire, and CAF #5… Toss in a pet taunt & protect me taunt as needed to hold them down and they are dunzo…

This didn’t work anywhere outside of aluminum foil league.
It is way too situational and requires way too much presetting and is easily countered, as well.
SotW has incredibly long Cooldown. It matches the CD of an Elite and is our 2nd only way to get stability. All our stability sources can actually get interrupted which is not fine. Either SotP or SotW should be instant. CAF #5 procs stability instantly but is short-lasting and makes you stationary.

I got to mid diamond season 2 solo queue before I got bored w/ PvP… I was either running that build or on my thief and I had about a 60~70% win rate…

Also sure it sucks that MOST of our stability sources can be interrupted but atleast we have more reliable stability sources than necro, rev, mesmer, and thief. Enlargement (trait) is instant casted SotW.

Rev’s only non interuptable stability is when they dodge, and even then only if they traited for it. Maybe we should look at necromancer who only has two non interuptable stability but one must be traited for and the other requires reaper trait line. Maybe mesmer? They get power break (it’s good if you trait for it), well of precog (nearly useless), and bountiful disillusionment in the chaos trait line (which is a decent line but others are better).

What does ranger get? Enlargement which is a non interuptable trait that gives stability, 25% damage buff, 50% move speed, a signet that does the same thing as Enlargement, and Strength of the Pack which also gives stability, fury, swiftness, & might. If a ranger strings all of it’s stability in a line you can have 25 seconds of stability up time (8 + 8 + 9). To top off the fact we can have such a long up time both of the skills and trait are on a 48s cooldown each (if traited signets & shouts). For those of you who can’t do basic math, that means we can have just over a 50% uptime on stability in perfect circumstances.

signet of the wild – make it instant cast and break stuns, remove the extra 25% dmg over 8 secs. reduce base cooldown by 10-20 secs.

signet of the hunt – active effect extra 25% dmg over x secs instead.

That’s backwards. It’s signet of the hunt which should break stuns and grant superspeed.

Signet of the Wild needs passive switched away from that useless 70-80 hp heal into the same power stat boost thieves/necro/warrior get. Make the active a 1/4 sec cast and reduce cd to 30 seconds, increase duration to 10 seconds.

These suggestions are gross..

Remove the 25% damage buff? I use that very often for bursting…

Signet of the hunt? Just rework the active to something else, it’s only practical use as of now is GS#2 and maybe axe oh #4 but idk about that one… Maybe have it grant 5 seconds of super speed & remove movement impairing effects? If you still wanted to keep the offensive component you could make it give X seconds of unblockable with X might stacks…

As for SotW its actually rather useful for filling up that CAF bar of yours if you didn’t notice… I would however like to see those numbers bumped up a bit as it scales for crap with healing power…

Also lowering SotW cast time? It grants 5 stability, 25% damage boost, 50% movement boost, all for 8 seconds… That’s a lot of effects for a 1 second cast time… Honestly I feel other classes need their cast time increased as instant or near instant skills are not fun to play against…

If you really want to see SotW’s true power play a berserker or marauder pet boon share build, get yourself 25 might stacks, pop SotW, PBS, rapid fire, and CAF #5… Toss in a pet taunt & protect me taunt as needed to hold them down and they are dunzo…

lol nope there isn’t one. Hey it only took them over 3 years to finally have our pets names not vanish.

seeing as how it has actually been 3 years and 11 months i’d say we waited 4 years… 4 more years they might be functional in pvp… who knows…

IMO ranger died in june 2015… back when shortbow, torch, and mh axe were viable in pvp. Back when we had 4 or 5 strong and viable builds to choose from…

I just can’t bring myself to enjoy ranger since then knowing what we lost compared to what we have now… Ranger just feels like a hollow shell of its former self…

Guard being reduced is definitely a good thing… The effect can apply up to 5 people (including yourself). That means 50% damage taken by up to 5 people is redirected to your pet. That means that your pet would die so fast its stupid most times you even thought about touching that skill…

Sure it is a slight nerf in 1vX situations but the game isn’t based on a 1vX model…

As I’m sure many people are aware there are permanent contracts for merchants, trade posts, & banks. For the tp & merchant consumables this isn’t the biggest issue as you can still use these and other players can use them but the bank one only give access to the user.

I for one have the permanant bank access contract & I find it very disapointing to get a one time use version as my daily reward… I would honestly love to be able to trade these types of boosts in for a booster type item like what was done with the xp, karma, magic find, etc boosters.

It would be an amazing QoL upgrade as I have no use for the items I mentioned. I know this issue doesn’t effect a huge margin of players but it would still be nice to have the issue fixed….
