Ax = 1st weapon set… Torch = 2nd weapon set… Take Geomancy and Bursting sigil… Trait for either traps (flame and spike trap), wilderness skills (Sharpening stone, QZ, and Entangle), or glyphs (Grace of the Land buffing).

I run Viper armor & Rampager accessories (I don’t do raids for viper junk).

If you need a ranged option for certain bosses take Shortbow w/ Earth & Bursting sigils.

When running Ax and Torch in the way described above you can weapon swap while never actually changing your weapons allowing you to spam the usage of the Geomancy sigil. You’ll be focusing on the Quickdraw trait (Skirmishing) and Offhand Training trait. After you proc Quickdraw you’ll use Ax #5 for max aoe dmg spamage that no other weapon set range has provides…

Ignore EVERYONE who says use staff or longbow… Staff has laughable damage and longbow requires you to be a mile from your team so you miss out on all boons. There is a metabattle varient of this build in the raid section I believe, just modify it to your taste…

I can’t bring myself to buy a single outfit because there is always something I don’t like it whether it be the chest piece, the boots, or leggings. I much more preferred the old system of “Mix & Match” where you unlocked the skin for each armor slot as it made much more sense to me.

I bought 4 of the old “Mix & Match” type armor sets and not a single outfit… I just want to know Anet’s business strategy for this because I certainly stopped spending gems on it and I don’t see how the “Outfit Only” plan is helping them.

I think it actually works rather well and I like it, my only issue is that when your ready to quit WvW’ing your still going to be getting reward track progress while sitting in spawn for 10~15 minutes so your incentivised to just sit around in spawn till your participation progress finally empties out.

I suggest just making certain events give a flat amount of reward track progress instead of having people sit around in spawn to get the most out of the participation points.

Just my thoughts on the subject…

Stupidly long load times, using more ram than usual, and slowing down my machine in general while game is running. Even once I’m loaded into a map and able to move around I have to wait another 2~3 minutes for the ground under me to load and another 2~3 minutes for all the structures to load…

I think what they’re getting at is how teleport skills interact with other skills. E.g on thief I get caught inside DH lb 5 skill. I use shadowstep to get out but at the location I port to I’m still knocked down.

Same for the trap that you have to cross to take dmg. A fair few port skills trigger the effect as if you walked through even though you didn’t. It’s like they coded the teleports as invisible walking paths. So the game sees you as technically walking to the target location instead of just actually teleporting.

Effect seems to trigger on other skills too like line of warding, static field and other skills designed to trigger when you run through them. It has been around for a while but I agree does need a fix as you can end up wasting skills trying to escape that should allow you to.

Idk the lore exactly but years ago I remember this kind of thing being talked about before… Thief has shadowsteps, not teleports. Shadowsteps afaik basically means your character moves at impossible speeds to the targeted location, e.g runs there.

Anet has coded these types of movements in very weird ways to account for the lore of it but it’s a mote point to discuss. Just be happy anet didn’t go super lore friendly and still lets you teleport out.

As for mesmer portals, this is a l2p issue, I frequently camped mesmer portals and nuked anyone who came through as many use it as an escape tool when nearly dead.

I quit playing because there are too many viable builds! I mean how am I supposed to keep track of all these builds people are using these days!? I mean come on, two viable builds per class?! That is way too much!!! C’mon anet I know you can lower it further to a single build per class if you really try!

All kidding aside I quit last season around tier 4 or 5 diamond because I was just so sick of fighting the exact same comp running the exact same builds game after game after game. I finally realized I hadn’t had fun in the last 200~300 games and I quit and haven’t looked back…

So when is exactly prime time to play?

OFFtimes are the best times to play because all the working class and kids arent playing then. Wich the brunt of cassuals exists off of. Only the people who trully enjoy the PvP in this game play on OFFtimes so your bound to have better matches.

I found on the NA server the best time to play is 2am to 7am eastern… Basically the primetime of OCX or SEA timezones and others would be asleep or at work/school.

As those timezones have some of the lowest population for GW2 many of the people you’ll be facing people who have either recently started playing and aren’t at their best yet or are tired and are past their peak for the day…

I don’t think Warriors are bad at all, I actually think they are the best designed class by far. Skills are telegraphed enough to offer counterplay etc. It’s the other elites and classes that I have no clue what’s going on. We are just lacking serious sustain under condi pressure, which is coming from everywhere. (GG DRUIDIC CLARITY CLEARING 13 CONDIS ON ENTERING CA)

No doubt warrior has the damage, but they can either be offensive or defensive. Too defensive and you can’t kill anything, too offensive and you’re pure glass and go down like a sack of potatoes. Warriors get pigeonholed into picking a role with their traits, we don’t get the best of both worlds like most classes.

I agree, warrior is one of the better designed classes, it was my initial main on GW2 launch… Warrior is stuck in one of two situations..

A: Do enough damage to kill people but be torn apart like a wet tissue…
B: Don’t do enough damage to kill and eventually be killed yourself because you can’t kill people…

Thief I can understand being a glass cannon… GW2 is the only game I can think of where a warrior is forced into “Run pure dmg or gtfo of pvp” situation…

While I won’t say gw2 is dead in any way (except wvw) I won’t say its in a good place either… All aspects of the game are sliding into despair and it won’t be long before I can say it really is dead…

My definition of dead is a game that loses more active players than it gains (those who play 5 hours a week or more).

I think that it’ll be tough for Anet to balance / buff warriors and thieves. One little nudge in the right direction just a little too far and they’ll be over powered monsters killing everything in sight. Buff warrior survivability and you’ll never kill them. Buff thief damage and they’ll kill everything before being seen. Still… wouldn’t it be glorious!

It’s not that thieves need a damage buff… They need a sustain buff… and not a simple add X amount of hp to them either… The access to stealth is terrible, especially when compared to some other classes… Blowing a single 40s utility for 3s stealth or 6 initiative for a smoke field and additional 3 to leap through it for 3s stealth… sure you could do the 6 initiative smoke field + black powder combo for 6s stealth but that’s a 40s cd + lots of initiative.. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying thief needs never ending stealth but, it doesn’t need to be so costly to use…

I can’t help but disagree. Elite Specializations should add something additional to the class. It’s not just going to stand alone. My “Bunny Thumper” is a nostalgic throwback to gw1. It has a lot of hard ccs and provides a lot of game changing effects.

Not every weapon has to have a form of dodge or block (I guess Stampede could have an evade while charging). Yes, now that you mention it, it does sound a lot like a warrior, but I’m all for an up-close ranger. It’s not like warriors haven’t gone out of their cliche zone. For example, pretty much all pvp warriors are now confusion/burn builds. That’s like saying “they’re too much like mesmers”. It’s nice to have a little similarity to other classes, while still staying unique, of course. I disagrre about a viable condi spec. There are several condi builds that are very powerful already like Druid Bleed, Mad Bleed King Druid, and Poison Druid.

It sounds like you have a great deal of animosity towards the pet mechanic, but like it or not, it’s here to stay, so you may as well try to get the most out of it. If you don’t think pets are powerful try Roaming Smokescale or Cleric Burst. The latter’s tiger has the ability to hit hard 7-8k criticals.

Lastly, I don’t think the utilities are terrible. Yes, they are basically identical to their gw1 counterpart, but you’re not going to run a full build of nature rituals. Why would you? Throwing a Frozen Soil down in a winning team fight basically ensures the win. Using Rough Terrain on a fleeing enemies can prevent them from escaping. The skill you quoted as “don’t move, don’t attack, but don’t take damage. That in all honestly sounds very terrible…” could be used on a cluster of enemies, applying a massive aoe immobilize, allowing huge allied hits.

I can think of countless possiblities. I think everyone is viewing this idea as a stand-alone thing, but when in conjunction with the other ranger skills makes it massively powerful.

I’m all for nostalgia, I loved gw1 rangers more than any class (even though I mained necro because ez mode).

For your condition build suggestions… Ranger is the bottom tier of power dps potential… Ranger’s condition damage is mid tier damage compared to other classes power dps potential… If you deny this your flat out lying… No if’s and’s or but’s about it… You should also count that fact that our best condi dps weapon sets are ax/torch AND axe/torch because quickdraw… We don’t even get a good enough 2nd condi weapon to justify having a different weapon set!!!

The utilities are so niche that most of them will never be used in PvP and it will become a huge problem as every other class power spike so hard with the next expansion (and we know they will) because they will have access to atleast 2~3 good new utilities. Literally the only good skill suggestion I’ve seen you make is the elite which doesn’t even fit in the idea of your elite spec suggestion… It’d be like throwing in lots of healing into the reaper traitline, square pegs don’t fit in circle holes… To top it off your utilities offer zero counterplay other than “kill the ranger or run away”, but lets face it, who is going to run from a player using such bad skills…

What if hammer was more hybrid with counters/blocks/cc/buffs than just pure cc?

As long as it bringing something to the table for survival and is not just just damage, damage, and more damage… The reason hammer works on warrior is because it has tons of cc with great damage and condition mitigation (back when ham warrior was good). The reason hammer works on engi is because it has a block (that does damage), an evade (that does damage & leaps), and a reflect (that does damage & whirls).

If you can set your heal to auto cast (which you can) and if you have a minon/pet that kill stuff that attacks (which they can) and it is not against the EULA or ToS to go afk (which it is not) then zero rules are being broken…

For people who have zero clue how drops in this game works… Once you kill the same mob type a certain number of times the drop reduces dramatically… For instance lets say all mobs have a 25% drop rate… After you farm the same mob type for 10 minutes it decreases to 15%…. After half an hour it further reduced to 10%… After an hour it is 5%.. And after two hours it is less than 1%…

I have personally set up an afk necro system in mount maelstrom just to see how the drop were… I left it running well over 12 hours straight… My inventory wasn’t even full… I barely had over 70 bags… All in all it scored about 5~7g for 12 hours of “afk farming”…

So rest assured when you see this kind of thing… They are barely making 50s on average per hour and if anything, they could have saved a few dollars on their light bill and coulda bought gems with it and made more gold…

Shortbow vs Longbow for a noob

It really depends on who and what your fighting… In WvW 1v1 shortbow is a beast… Its extremely easy to maintain 2~3k dps from bleeds alone with flanking aa, earth sigil, and sharpened edges… Even if it gets cleansed your still applying 1~3 bleeds per aa…

Basically roll out as a condition survival ranger and you’ll kick butt roaming in wvw… Just be weary of transfer necros as anet thinks they need to be gods of condi control with almost no susceptibility to them… I’d personally mix toughness, healing power, precision, and condi dmg stats… Maybe a mix of apothecary with rabid…

If your going PvE just roll zerker longbow and spam your buttons until you actually do raids or fractals where skill rotations actually mean something…

If your going PvP shortbow is blah due to bad trait design and it is just easier and better roll longbow…

Your weapon skills sound rather terrible as there is zero evade or blocks which the ranger needs… Your only option your proposing is a “don’t move, don’t attack, but don’t take damage” skill that in all honestly sounds very terrible when compared to ele’s earth focus 5…

If bunny thumper was even to become a thing it would have to be LOTS like warrior by giving you access to lots of CC if the weapon or utilities aren’t going to give block/evade options… So it’d basically turn into a warrior hammer copy/paste…

I used to really like the idea of having a bunny thumper in gw2 but honestly ranger already decent melee options, what we need is a viable condi spec to compete on higher levels of gameplay for a DPS role as our physical damage is tied to a 90% worthless pet.

The utilities are also very bad… You can’t copy/paste from gw1 and apply them to gw2 and expect anyone will think that is a good idea… Because it is not… Totally different game types… Even in gw1 pvp you didn’t use those spirits because they hurt you as often as help you…

My build is similar but I don’t run glyphs anymore… Only thing I’d change is glyph to another shout, NM to MM for more stab and MoC, and sw/d to GS… I just like the stability too much from MM, I’m more comfortable with GS, and I don’t really care for the glyphs anymore after shout buffs…

But that is all personal stuff and if it works for you keep at it… +1

All the same kitten that’s been in this game forever…

In a nutshell that’s basically what I’m asking for along with better PvP development.

To be honest, not sure what you mean by “relationship” I mean, they make the game, I play the game. If I don’t like the game, I go play another game.

The relationship between the consumer and producer… If your producer wrongs the consumer (or the consumer believes they have) the producer in most cases will actually listen to your complaints. It seems that the majority of complaints on the forums gets overlooked again and again. I’m not talking x class being too OP or y class being too UP… I’m referring to basic quality of life things such as build templates which have been asked for since launch…

The reason that they had a big content drought post-LWS2 was because they had to shift to making expansions, because Living World was unsustainable.

The list goes on and on with a minimal MONTHLY update… That is until Jan 13, 2015…

After Jan 13th we received no real content until Heart of thorns, Oct 23, 2015. We were promised many things included updated fractals, legendary weapons, etc etc and very little of it was delivered… But once again this is not meant to be a HoT bashing thread, we all know anet failed to deliver what they had promised.

So I guess now people are satisfied with only receiving updates to game once every 2 months for a single raid wing and some new gem store stuff… When I started GW2 it seemed as though the developers poured their hearts and souls into development but they lost that mind frame somewhere along the line…

Although, honestly, the current content “drought” is a myth. They’ve been releasing raids pretty regularly. I’m not saying you have to play and enjoy raids, but accept the fact that they are releasing content

I will give you the fact they are releasing raids although, what else are they doing to support the rest of the game? We have zero new content outside of two new raid wings since HoT launch (Oct 23, 2015). That is about the equivalent of two dungeons. It has taken them 5 months to produce what they have shown us in the past in a fraction of the time. Even if they just released new content like the old Dragon Bash, which only came with a single new activity and a few open world things, it would greatly improve peoples attitudes (myself included). What ANET has done, as pointed out by someone else, is put all their eggs into one basket which is RAIDS… A massive amount of players don’t do raids and it is a very niche gameplay style of GW2 only found in that aspect of the game.

With regeneration alone with 1~2 allies you’ll have all the astral force you’ll ever need. You’ve went a bit overkill and sacrificed a lot of utility taking that rune. Renewal > leeching is okay, it all comes down to personal preference but the rune choice is never taken for any build or for any reason. The heal is subpar and the fact that with BOTH staff and regeneration your AF generation is through the roof and honestly quite overkill.

The only possible reason I could see you need that extra bit of AF generation is if you sitting in CA till its at 0% which is wrong. You need to follow a rotation of skill usage to get the most out of it in the least amount of time so you quickly hop in/out to make the most use of druidic clarity.

Two things:

1. It’s not a democracy. Anet make stuff and we choose to play it or not to play it and that’s how it should be. I don’t want to play a game that is designed by committee.

2. Allison. It kinda sounds like you are done with the game for now. Take break. See how you feel in a month or two. It’s not meant to be a punishment.

What I’m referring to would not be a democracy… What I’m referring to would be allowing for more player input and suggestions directly to the game developers… They would of course still have the fine say in all matters but I’m certain it would help development greatly if ANET actually had some real player input that they listened to…

I’m pretty sure you got auto corrected or just typoed, but I’ll note that in a relationship the other side is more likely to want to work things out with you if you know their name.

Heart of Thorns. Spiky things on vines in the jungle. Not iron sword chairs you sit on.

I did lots of copy/paste and I prolly spelt it wrong and auto correct tied to fix it for me… Or maybe a just a kitten moment…

Also I am pretty sick of the game and I’ve actually been taking a break, I haven’t been logging in for dailies… I just wish I wouldn’t have to wait 6~9 months for the gamestate to actually have advanced a little bit if it all… In all of year 2015 we only received a single content release and that was HoT… Here we are 1/4 through 2016 and still no decent content release (if your a person who was not impressed by HoT)

Ever since I got on my alt account and started doing unranked I see TONS of people teleporting around when I know for a fact there is no way for them to actually be doing it…

My best example is a necromancer on the mid point of forest… He was on the bottom off point near me… Teleported to the top (had no minion), came back down to my level, went back up top, came back down again, I downed him off point, he teleported on point, he teleported to the top again (in downstate), he teleported back down again but off point, and I finally killed him…

Another instance I was fighting a theif… I have over 400 games played on thief… I know their in’s and their out’s… I’m no master but I know when something ain’t quite right… He was teleporting behind me, in front of me, back and to non stop. He wasn’t really doing any damage but there is no way he was teleporting that much as for starters he didn’t have shortbow on and I wasn’t being blinded so there were no shadowshots…

My hope is there is some kind of known bug for some people with this kind of thing where you see people teleporting all over the place like this…

And for all the stupid people that would respond to this…

Seeds of life? Where? It’s definitely not in the linked build…

A seed of life = nuke here icon… 99% of rangers will stand there taking the abuse while they wait for their little heal and condition removal in hopes of removing my 30+ bleed ticks but will be covered up by weakness, blind, torment, poison or any other number of the conditions I’m not actually doing my damage with.

Ranger’s best condition removal from my experience is from soldier runes w/ shouts, WS, and Druidic Clarity… I guess you could count the signet too with those super heavy condi teams… Empathic bond too but that kinda kills your pet… These are instant removals except soldier runes (about a 1~2s delay) and Empathic Bond (3 per 10s). None of them require you stop moving and stand on a small circle.

Arguably HS can be a decent choice due to its ability to clear 5 conditions and act as a water field but in his build he has zero leaps and only a single blast finisher. To top it off he already has a water field on the weapon that has the blast finisher. So all in all a different heal would be better if you take a more reliable source of condition removal. You could also say HS is better for team play but your playing ranger (much less condi ranger) your not trying to get in on any fights larger than a 3v3 and that’s not the goal of the build.

As an after thought I would think it would be extremely beneficial to have an election system set up for players to elect other players to be in on the loop of what your plans are for the game. A game already has the feature (EVE Online) and they refer to them as their “CSM Council”.

You basically would garner support from other players in the game to vote for you by telling them what you support in the game and how you think the company should go about developing their game.

Once the officials are voted in you would have these elected players sign non-disclosure contracts to avoid them talking about the possible ideas or upcoming features of the game. This would avoid getting the masses excited for an feature/event that may never actually come to pass and causing the players to get upset.

Having these players in place would also allow for ANET to bounce ideas and suggestions off of these actual players who love and adore GW2. It would give ANET a real unique insight into what players really want and great way to interact with the community.

Just a suggestion that I think could work very well.

I, like a huge amount of other players, have felt extremely scorned by ANET over the past year. We have received very little enjoyable content over the past year and the reason ANET said this is was “Heart of Thrones”. Before you stop reading this is not a HoT bashing thread, this is a thread about how I feel ANET has wrong me (and other players in general) and how they can fix it.

Since the end of Scarlet’s terror and our living story episodes there was a major drop off in content. Many people speculate this was due to the development of the Asian servers but I’m not entirely sure myself. After the Asian servers were launched we received a slightly revamped recycled Queen’s Jubilee.

After Queen’s Jubilee we received nothing but the usual recycled events with slight revamps attached to them. Arguably the only completely new content introduced since January 2015 was the Maguuma Wastes maps and Heart of Thrones expansion. So effectively for 1 year and 4 months we have received no actual content updates including festivals or one time events such as the Karka, Marionette, or Dragon Bash.

To add insult to injury PvP and WvW have both received very little in the way of support and development. We will start with PvP, at launch the game came with 4 PvP maps: Legacy of the Foefire, Raid on the Capricorn, Forest of Niflhel, and Battle of Kyhlo. We received more maps in subsequent updates including Skyhammer (July 2013), Spirit Watch (February 2013), and Temple of the Silent Storm (October 2013). Since then we have had Raid on the Capricorn be completely removed from PvP. Eventually it came to pass that Skyhammer and Spirit Watch both were deemed too gimmicky to be considered for competitive play so you are left with four possible maps for that game type.

Since the maps mentioned above have been released we have received two more maps, Courtyard (Team death match) and Stronghold (moba type map). Since their release Courtyard has been deemed to be a non competitive map and Stronghold is in the same boat. So for any competitive PvP player we have been left with the same maps since July 2013. I could go off on a tangent on how pvp balance has flip flopped back and forth from being good and bad at times but this is not the time/place.

Next we come to the WvW scene. It was launched as part of the core game and had no delays (that I remember). The maps were Alpine Bluffs (since retired with the launch of Hot) and Eternal Battlegrounds. Since the release of the new WvW maps (Desert Borderlands?) the WvW scene has nearly dyed off completely. It was originally viewed as a highly competitive place for servers to prove their metal in an all out 1v1v1 battle. Although due to lack of rewards, updates, and development many players have stopped playing the game type (myself included) and many even left GW2 altogether.

Now I have gone over very generally on why I feel let down by PvP, PvE, and WvW. I could have went into much deeper detail on why I feel let down by all three fields but I want to keep this as short as possible.

Here are my proposed fixes for some of these shortcomings. Firstly, start going back to monthly or bi-monthly festivals and events for your PvE loving fans. Many Players including those that prefer PvP or WvW still enjoyed those events and many people play across all three game types.

Secondly for the PvP players, look at your PvP maps that are not able to be considered competitive such as Skyhammer. If those were brought into line with the others we increase our current available maps and help improve map diversity. I would also deem it necessary to support only a single game type until it is decided it no longer needs to be improved upon, we do not need more than 6~8 conquest map types. Once we have enough conquest maps you could then expand into the Team Death Match type maps or MOBA maps like Stronghold. We do not need the developers spread across too many fields at once.

Third and last WvW changes need to be undone. To put it simply almost all your hard work on the Desert Borderlands is considered wasted by the mass majority of the WvW community in GW2. What needs to happen is a revival of the Tournaments. I can’t recall a single point in GW2 where the maps were so full and had such a long queue time (other than launch). The tournaments were so great they would even inspire two servers to work together for it’s entirety to make sure their larger and stronger competitor did not win two seasons in a row. It offered unique rewards via Mistforged weapons and other items sold by the vendor.

Had it happen to me on thief and emotes wouldn’t fix it… I used my shortbow #5 multiple times and it wouldn’t fix…

I eventually broke down and just reloged as the issue couldn’t be resolved any other way

This is an unacceptable bug. It can literally cause you to lose games through no fault of your own. It really needs to be brought to Anets attention ASAP.

It’s been known and reported for years… This is nothing new…

We need MANY patches per three months… On the DAY after the season ends that will do some harsh changes… The last will be one week before the next season… This will keep all balance patches out of the mid season.

After the initial patch you would then have small tweaks between the seasons to allow for the best balance tweaking. That way your not in the thought process “well we didn’t right this time, guess it will have to due till 3 months later!”.

Over the course of 30s Dolyak will heal for 2,118 (if never poisoned)
Heals for 1779 HP with 50% poison uptime

Superior Rune of Melandru
-25% to both condition and stun durations
less vitality than Dolyak rune

Superior Rune of the Earth
+30% to protection duration
When struck below 20% health you gain a magnetic aura for 5 seconds (90s CD)
25% chance when struck to gain protection for 4 seconds (30s CD)

Superior Rune of the Water
+20% boon durtaion
1,377.5 AoE healing when using heal skill (factored in healing power) with 600 radius (16s CD)
2755 healing over a 32 second period (to compare to dolyak)

Earth, Melandru, and Water have less vitality than Dolyak rune nor do they heal over time. On the other hand they bring bigger and better things to the table.

Other than that I guess thanks for copy/pasting the paladin greatsword build from metabattle with an amulet, rune, a weapon set, and sigil changes… Even though both the sigil and rune choices are mediocre.

I get you wanna play condi ranger but it just isn’t viable anymore in competitive PvP… You have three hard CC’s: staff swap, spike trap, and wolf fear… I don’t count wolf knockdown as it isn’t controllable.

Your support is non exsistant unless someone happens to stand around in your healing spring…

Condition removal involves standing in a water field for 5 clears total over a TEN SECOND period… With no blocks/evades it isn’t viable to stand in that one spot the full duration…

Different build… Still amazing 1v1 or 1v2… Has evades (2)…. On demand condi removal… Just as much CC… It does lack team support but that’s not the purpose… Still not good enough for top tier competitive but it’s fun to break out from time to time… You’ll also be able to take more hits due to wanderers’ giving toughness and with the on demand condi removal vitality isn’t as important…

Just another terrible idea by anet that causes other players to suffer because they need silly achievement points… If they only made the profession achievements possible in unranked this would all be resolved…

But we all know this is anet and things never get resolved… They just shovel more manure on the pile they gave us and call it a day….

Edit: Figured I should actually contribute something constructive… Just do as the above guy posted… Let your team know from the start of your match your intentions… Make sure you have atleast a 100 point minimal lead and the enemy team has atleast a couple of players waiting to respawn…

The last thing you want to do is leave your team to 4v5 while your changing characters, loading into heart of the mists, loading into the pvp map, and finally running back into the fight to help if needed…

You mean you need to get carried. That’s the problem with the season. It’s all about getting a good team. If you don’t, you’ll be stuck in your division forever.

I never once said you need to get carried… I said if your getting stuck in terrible matches but you know you should be higher than ruby then you should try the queuing with diamond method. If you actually read my post you see I said I only got to T3 ruby before I started solo queuing again. So that means I only team queued for about 6~7 games and solo queued the remaining 15 pips.

If your stuck in ruby and you really believe you deserve to be in diamond then I highly suggest you find a friend to duo queue with who is T3+ in diamond. You will get match made against other players near that bracket and you will find out if you really are diamond material.

The only hard part is finding that diamond player who will take that chance on you being decent. I suggest finding a guild mate.

I personally was stuck in T1~T2 ruby until I teamed with a diamond and got pulled into T3 by queuing with him. After I hit T3 I went back to solo and hit diamond in a couple days with very minimal loses.

Best of luck hitting diamond…

About when was it? What class was your main? What was your build? What is one of the best plays you made at that time?

Personally my favorite time was right before the trait overhaul and removing stats from the traitlines. I was a condi survival ranger and I loved it more than anything else I had played in any game.

The play I best remember was back when we had the TDM map in rotation (I don’t remember the name). I was playing a spirit ranger and was caught away from team in a 3v1. I used my elite spirit and used its’ ability right before I went into downstate, it picked me up and one of the three ran away leaving me in a 2v1. I was soon brought back into downstate and the two enemies cleaved down my spirit which caused it to cast its ability bringing me back up yet again. Once again one of the enemies left the fight and I was left with a 1v1. I quickly downed and stomped out the remaining player and went to aid my team. Soon after regrouping with my team we wiped them and won the game by only a single kill.

Edit: I wasn’t very specific with the time, it was before the summer patches of 2015.

I started having issues with perpetual low fps Tuesday evening when I logged in. Previously, I was capping out at 60 fps, with occasional dips in high pop areas but now I’m sitting at 15 fps constantly, no matter where I am. I used to be able to relog to correct the low fps if it happened, but no dice the last few days.

Try turning off your UI by pressing CTRL + SHIFT + H

If your FPS goes back to normal create a new bug thread as this was a HUGE problem about 6~9 months ago when anet screwed up the UI horribly for many players.

It’s disappointing that so many options are just not viable. I’d love to be able to take literally any weapon set and use any of the skills that are available to the classes, and use them in PvP.

Right now, we seem to be stuck with having to use specific sets and elite specs, if we want to compete, as like you said, so many just aren’t useful.

It’s not the fact that many of the weapons or skills aren’t useful in PvP… It’s the fact that many of the weapon/skills aren’t useful in any format of the game as other builds/skills will completely outclass them at their intended job. Everything doesn’t need to be best at something, it only has to be viable, and as it currently stands very little is actually viable.

My experience on thief was great… In ruby I was able to go around wrecking face without a care in the world… In my worst games I would only get 8 kills but could get 12 to 15 in my average games…

Now that I’m in diamond… I don’t know what to say other than kittenKKKKKKKK!!!! I’m basically forced to play nothing but druid now as Diamond is a never ending flood of revenants, druids, mesmers, and elementalists all of which are terrible fights for thief…

Unless of course you get one of those bad druids where you can litterally just headshot him to death with pulmonary impacts causing him to end the game with a zero personal score…

The revs can sneeze and one or two shot me. Ele’s can just spam shocking aura while I stand there dazed. Druids will have smokescale do 50% of my hp in one attack. Lastly mesmers will just spam shatters until finally one of them lands which is all it takes to force me off point with only a few stacks of torment and confusion.

From the post MO posted about a week ago, it seems that he is pulling everyone possible from their current projects and shoving them into the PvE content projects… So I wouldn’t get your hopes up for ANYTHING pvp related outside of extremely minor tweaks.

After three games in a row of “we win mid and home YAY” but then they decide “lets triple cap with far!” then four of them go far and I’m forced to pick to 1v1 on home or 1v1 on mid while I wait for my stupid teammates to come back… Usually they don’t and I end up 2v1’d lose both home/mid and we snowball into a loss from there…
