About dungeons, do we have LFG tool now?
Not in game, no. But there is gw2lfg.com which is fantastic. Finding dungeon groups is ridiculously easy with it.
Hmm that’s interesting.

Hello guys. I’ve been playing other games and recently i decided to reinstall GW2 and see if my passion comes back. Anything changed since game launch in terms of mounts or less expensive waypoint travelling?
Yea, they are and the reason i stopped visiting lower level areas and caring about completing the exploration. After that i felt that playing in a single area was too boring and stopped playing.
If Level scaling was gone would you feel motivated to visit lower level areas again?
Posted by: Alucardrx.8930
Yes, no, why? I would be motivated again been able yo steamroll every mob without problems. Not for farming, maybe to be able to gather without being bothering being attacked, helping newbies complete their events without hassle.
Other games don’t have this artificial barrier and do work so any comment about bots or hindering newbies advance is unreasonable.
14g at level 80.
I would remove level scaling.
OP i’m from the Scotland Yard. My name is Sherlock Holmes.
I would like you to tell me in details who pointed a gun to your head while twisting your arm to complete dailies.
I’m taking notes and when i find the culprit i’ll contact the Queen to send the British Army to destroy the enemy.
Yours Sincerely,
Sherlock Holmes
If a GM could track this they could restore your money.
But they won’t do that, i’m sorry for your loss.
You want a honest answer?
Nothing will happen. ANet might say they are dealing with it but as players we see each the the same bots in the same areas. They just don’t have the resources to fight it.
The problem imo are gold buyers. All other MMORPG suffer from this problem and the source is the one buying it and creating demand for this black market.
Blizzard gave up and became a RMT in Diablo 3. Only when a gaming company decides that is time to take action against the source of the problem it will end (or at least get close to insignificant). Until then, it will be false promises while we see these bots every day slapping our faces.

1) Yea for not being able to get money for yourself in the game and doing it the easy way through real money. It’s like using gameshark to beat a game, not forbidden but removes the achievement feeling.
2) No because ANET sells it and you have money to spend on it.
Choose your answer.
I don’t get why we can’t just have a GM every server that sole job is to destroy bots. He fields all complaints and seeks and destroys. I know personally I report every obvious bot i see. And continue to watch them exist for a few days thats totally unacceptable. No should need to buy gold or bot. I made a guide just to spite this whole situation http://youtu.be/D5t7yY0IihI.
If you look in arah final zone especially on anvilrock my server has atleast 10 bots going mad right now. We all reported them but they still there
I would just love to have a job like that. All day long getting those suckers banned and watching them crying on the forums.
So much people defending gold buying in this thread makes me want to puke. Online gaming is surely coming to a point where cheating will be the normal way of playing a game. This must be why Blizzard decided to become RMT as well in Diablo 3. They realized its a lost cause. So why not profit on the scum?

Only a couple MMO’s had the bard class and it was fun.
EQ and DAoC.
How could you ever forget about FFXI??
Yea, bard would be interesting to have.
Sasha Grey. Who would believe that she would become a hero???
I still think that the best way to counter gold buying is to punish severely gold buyers. Even put them on trial for breaching the TOS (choose a few scape goats to do it). Give them all a fair warning about what will happen to them even before the game is released.
Then each month put a list of banned players in the website. Players will realize their friends and guild leaders are being banned and will start to worry themselves.
Life is challenging enough, lemme have some fun in a game. This is not an sport no matter what geeks says.
The problem nowadays is you don’t need a group. Do you think people enjoyed looking for groups for hours in EQ1?? No, they did it because they had to, but they met amazing people along the way in the process, which I daresay made the experience more fulfilling than if they had just soloed their way to the top.
It seems MMOs completely skipped the middle ground between “must have a group” and “don’t need a group for 95% of content”
This needs to be said again.
The players of this genre are at a point where they don’t know what’s best for themselves anymore.
If majority of people actually wanted forced grouping, there would be forced grouping in every game.
Aaand I’m pretty sure that people are also free to decide themselves what is best for them.
Even FFXI that had forced grouping as progression eventually came to its senses and changed it’s leveling system. People just don’t have so much time in their hands like thy had 10 years before.
I rarely see people grouped in this game, why is that? Do gamers this day in age just want to be left alone to do there own thing? I myself have a heck of a time finding people to play with.
Discuss.
TIME.
You work, you have obligations towards your family. Comitting time to an entertainment is one thing. Comitting time to wait someone to make his dinner or take the dog out to poop while trying to achieve something is just a big NO.
That simple. When we grow up, we start giving much more value to time. Without 16h a day to play games you don’t want to wait on others for anything else.
No. But you learned a valuable lesson. Pay the tax and get a bit less but at least get it.
Start banning Gold Buyers and posting their account name, real name, address, credit card number and what not. Put them in the “Hall of Shame” of MMORPGs and contact other MMORPG companies about these players to not let them buy their products.
Will never happen but it would be so cool to watch…
Nope. GW2 could cost even more, it could cost 15 a month as well.
What is going to happen to future new players when the population is settled at level 80 grounds?

I fear that in the future, players will start giving up when they realize they have to pass on many things without asking for someone to help (and travel costs inhibit others to help)

Im at Hinterlands trying to finish a skill challenge with tons of centaurs around, champions and those crystal dogs nearby. If i manage to pull 2-3 at a time and clear them before they repop (and they are on the ramp to the skill challenge, very near, its a small ramp) there will be still a champion/elite and 3 ancient crystal dogs on me, with little room to dodge and little time to overcome them before others repop.
Is this soloable as well?

How will these players complete skill challenges and events with 4-5 ppl at the entire zone and no one willing to come help?
Just a thought.
I want to feel powerful, not a weakling always. Traits and Skills are not enough.
If you are worried about bots/farming create a timer to force players to move or get nothing.
If you are worried about higher levels preventing newbies from tagging mobs and events disable events for high level players unless they are level synched (sp?)to a lower level party.
Though i understand that the game is fun during the 1-80 it is not rewarding at 80+. And though you might be getting your investment back just by purchasing the game you should also remember how microtransactions are lucrative with so many compulsive buyers on the internet.
So the key is to keep these players that are at 80+ entertained. Giving them their power back to lower level areas to mind their own business is a good way to do so. At least while you prepare more content.
