After checking my equipment, im here for ingame lag problems:

Your location: Italy
Provider: telecom italia
DNS: tried with opendns, google, unlocator, standard telecom italia dns
Time and date of incident (plus time zone): mostly during EU prime-time but occasionally also in other slot times
Game World: Anvil rock (NA)
Brief description of what you’re seeing:
In PvE, PvP or WvW movement is slowed or a lag time from movement and location of the character. (“I run and reach a tree, after a second the game relocate the character at the beginning position of the run”). Lag in skill launch and execution( i can use skills 1 to 5 before I see any execution in the game).

Additional informations:
- CPU usage 70% in game
- Ram usage 3 Gb on 4 gb available
- Network problems: medium time to resp. about 50 ms (that is ok for other games)
- problem happened with the last story update of the game

I love downed state. And also the rally feature, why do you want to remove?

the moving camera after downed is really annoying, i confirm.

This is only a humble proposal:

develop an app for smartphone to drive dolyaks in wvw. Bring supplies to towers and keep, defend yourself from wolves, arpies and roamers….

skills: 1) charge! 2) run 3) drop supplies to distract enemies

in order to avoid improper use of dolyaks, login should be done only for gw2 players (so you can connect login with servers).

What is your opinion?

Ok, i read all the threads. This is my idea:

Superior rune of monkey pirate (6/6)
(1) a parrot appear on your shoulder: in combat, says funny jokes
(2) If downed, enemies in a range of 600 are immobilized (max 5) and start laughing. Your character start insulting and telling jokes, +10% velocity in recovery;
(3) when critical hit, your enemy acquire a fluo-aura (also if stealthed) (10secs)
(4) when your life drops less than 10%, a clown on a tricycle appear and cross the fight area, with expressions like “I want to play a game”. All players in a range of 1200 are stuck for 5secs
(5)when critically hit, plus point (3), you cry “LEEEEROY JENKINS”: both the aggressor and character fight a boxe match (as in gw1 eye of the north – leeroy stonekin)
(6) when you use an elite skill there is a 30% probability that you summon:
- Thraeharne: blatering about his superiority;
- Satan, with electric guitar, remembering about your signed contract with him (as in Tenacious D in The pick of destiny);
- lady gaga;

usually im the last one to die.

Obviously you cannot tank: you have to adopt other strategies.

Leave warriors do their job: your zerg is your best weapon. Stay in the middle of front line and burn enemies with lava, meteorshower etc. Brainless zerg usually run away and you group can hunt them down one by one.

Oh! I had problems in compare GW1 and GW2 maps! (I had to re-install GW1 to check! )

While I was spending my life completing this amazing puzzle, I visited a lot of ruins.
So I was thinking a lot about them.

Comparing Gw and GW2 maps, this area should be Bloodstone fen point of GW. But i really don’t remember about cities. There was the white mantle, the shining blade, druids…

No cities at all.

Any idea about them?

The ship in skritt cave can come from mamnoon lagoon? But I find the ship too big for a small lake….

Hi Cable, Hi all!

Yesterday night, I was defending garrison and I had the same idea. But after a couple of minutes of thinking, i asked myself if its worth of.

Actually, as commander, if a keep has more than 5 people defending, i know i need about twice to three times their number (for supplies and considering death with acs etc.).
In low tiers (anvil rock, Et, and the other friends in the bottom) that means you need a big zerg (for that tiers) to take a keep defended by 5+ people.

So, how can we improve attack/defence considering skills more than numbers? Redesigning walls, adding bridges (as in eotm) or (ok this is hard) introducing some secret puzzle-path to reach the backdoor of a keep?

Really i dont have an answer…

Yes, I would appreciate a dev in AR. Not for help, but because all the solutions im reading in other threads dont consider low pop, low level servers.

If you dont have people to defend your borderland, the problem about points or upgrading stuctures is a no-sense. I spent this tournament as AR commander: when also seigerager is wiped from enemy zerg, you have really little hope to survive outside your citadel or wp point.

Perhaps, in these situations, more powerful NPC could be useful. In EOTM i was able to stop enemy zergs from keep with a couple of ppl and acs with the help of NPCs (and bridges and full upgraded towers and keeps).

We could learn from eotm experience and defence tactics…..

Hi all!

Some of you knows me: i play in low pop server (ar). I really appreciate this thread: i read with interest all the suggestions, but every time i think about our fights…. BRRRR!!!

So I had a crazy idea:
When a commander finds someone that intentionally create problems on-game (throw siege, hacking etc.) he can TAG him as enemy and the zerg can kill him. So:
- the monitoring and controlling is delegated to commanders. In fights he/she can jundge the situation in real time;
- when commander tag someone as enemy, he had to report and you have only to monitor the commander choices;
- when someone is tagged as enemy has a buff so he can only wait and CANT enter in keeps and towers;
- no impact in strategies and tactics;

What do you think?

Ok, we all know these are bad times. We know that WvW programmers are understaffed and under payed…

So why not make a donation to wvw programmers so to help them to develop new maps? We could pay in gems….

First of all, don’t touch Ajax Blue!!! He is the master of tricks, of nonsense-blablabla and insane discussion… one of the reasons why i play in wvw is to listen his crazy monologues!

Low tiers have an advantage over higher ones: You play in small teams, move fast and PvP is manageable because of low numbers.

If you like wvw, in AR you will find the opportunity to: solo playing, small group pvp or in EB zerg fighting. Thats the reason I stay in AR: a small tight community, lot on fun in map chat and teamspeak, hard fights with our friends in ET and ebay (no, not the web site :p)

If you are commander, you have another advantage: ppl that follow you will listen and is open minded in tring new strategies and tactics. I love my AR-ppl <3.

So… the choice is yours: you can join large community server and be a deadbody roaming around, join a middle tier and find lot of zerg vs zerg, or join low tiers and have fun in solo playng, pvp, small groups vs small groups or try the zerg vs zerg experience…

Really guys, I have lot of fun playing against u (and ebay sure).

Reading all the bad comments from T1 and T2, i think we are an happy wvwvw island. We have good times in prime time, we need to use strategy and tactics to take keeps and tower (and not only zerging all around).

the last 3 weeks i really appreciate ET vs AR vs Ebay matchs. Doesnt matter if I loose: i had lot of fun with u all!

Really, i’m in Anvil Rock server, T3… in the bottom of everything. I see that here we are few ppl, but with strong server identity and lot of fun…

You dont have big zergs so you have to play smart, you can defend tower and keep defence successfully and in these last weeks matchs with ET and Ebay are well balanced (yep ET vs AR vs Ebay its a classic).

So I can say these last weeks I had lot of fun, playng with smart ppl (friends and enemies sure).

I cant say anything against wvwvw system atm.

yeah, i know, but i wanted ppl to know that in low tiers we have lot of fun too!

This week we have the usual Anvil rock/Ehmry bay/ Eredon Terrace grill party in EB.

Yesterday I had one of my best and funny day in wvw in a couple of months. We fought ET for about 2 hours between SM, mendon, anzalias…. Teams were about equal in numbers and firepower.
I could appreciate ET tactics and strategy, new uses of siege. I hope ET had the same fun we had!

smithkt: my doubts came from one of the last weeks. In EB, Anvil rock vs Eredon terrace (yeah we are in the bottom of NA server list).

ET sieged Ogrewatch with 7 sup ac, 4 balli, 4 trebs and for unknown reason, 1 ram near lord.

It was an hard fight.

I like this Jessika QA. She is answering in the forum more often than usual.

My humble suggestion: make a run in our wvw servers with us (all tiers), i’m sure you will have lot of fun!

Aeolus: you are right, BUT we had a ppl selection. Zerg-ppl moved away to high tiers or in EOTM.
People in low tiers are organized enough but if you have to take a keep full upgraded with ACs, TREBs, Catas, you need a minimum of ppl: only to bring enough supplies as example!
Ok, i stop here: there are enough threads about these questions

Plus: think in EB, you can siege towers with lots of trebs, cata, ACs… for 24 hours. I dream an Overlook keep as a small Mordor

Only big zerg groups could take it: in high tiers could work (but not so sure). In low tiers, ppl would leave WvW.

It would be fun to add a tower or keep under water.
They could add a sea around BLs, and a couple of towers and guard points… yeah and bring back NPC living in water with funny name and speech

ET, you are the best server i found in defence! Yesterday night i spent 1 hour in tring to take your keeps in eternal battlegrounds, with no success.

I had the same problem: are u playing in a 64bit operating system? I solved moving from a 32bit version to a 64bit version and upgrading TS client…

I think its a massive ram consuming process in GW2 that creates the problem we have. but really i solved my problem, so i didnt work on it after that.

Melodey, not sure: im in anvil rock, and we are ALWAYS outnumbered. With equal numbers, i think ele commander is good choice. Water fields, static field, meteor shower is a gift of the gods when you are in the middle of a zerg fight. I think eles could be more effective in high tiers

Im a staff/ele commander. Usually i stay frontline (ppl follow the tag, not the orders…)

Its an hard life: if u play well, you can be “last man standing”, but its really hard. When i fight large zergs, usually i ask other commanders (fighters, protectors) to help me. Ele commander is ok in siege, defending bl and managing small groups of invaders.

Yesterday night, we had in AR 3 armies between eb and ar bl. All in teamspeak.

Zerg is only a way to unmanage your players: as usual we were outnumbered by FC and DR (great players btw). but we were abale to resiste and couterstrike.
If u are a commander in an outnumbered server you have to use tactics and strategy or your ppl leave after the first fight.

Really I dont know about other servers, but, here in ar, our problems are not enemy zergs (lot of bags for us).

Ohh… btw if you dont like zergs, dont enter in eotm… ;D

Tanked up, I’m a good middle ground…So I know when its too tough for the zerg…Tankier classes will still be yelling ppl forward when the majority of the zerg won’t survive.

You can stand in the fight dropping AOE right on yourself.

You can range with the best to AOE ACs Mortars or that Strategic static to cut the enemy zerg in half.

Spells such as Meteor Shower, Static, and Walls allow you to shape the battlefield.

Mistform, Burning Retreat, or Teleport to get you out of tough Spots while still being visible.

Attunement bonuses dropping to everyone around you every-time you change. Yer like a boon machine, the right attunement for the right situation.

And on-top of all that….Everyone is amazed your an ele:)

I’m a commander. I’m an ele. I’m sure i’m not one of the best commanders here but…
- when i tag up, all hail and came immediately
- they know i don’t run the zerg in ambushes or too hard fights
- they know i spam water fields all around so they prefer to stay tight (my guys are smart )
- they know that in the end they collect more bags than they leave.

Really, every profession is good: it depends which commander you are (in the last fight, we were outnumbered 3:1, but the other commander – a charr warrior – decided to run in first line. Not smart: we were able to ambush them between two keeps: they died as flies).
