The thing is the scoring system does not have much implications. And you do have already a scoreboard showing all the things you mention (damage, condi, etc…). Now I agree that the scoring could be improved so that people stop saying “you have a low score you must have done nothing the whole game”, or “I am first, I must be great at this game”, but other than that, it is indeed fairly unimportant.

Not true, the scoreboard showing damage, healing, etc only shows to yourself. What OP says is to show those things to everyone, so people can actually see who carried hard during the match. This is important because not only you gain respect from other players, it also creates a goal for new players to aim for. At the same time, the potential hidden good players can be easily found by the pro teams.

What the scoreboard should show:

During the match:
Kills/Death/Assist/Ressing
When match finished:
Kills/Death/Assist/Ressing
Total Damage/Total Healing/Heals to Allies/Total Damage Taken/etc
(Selection from Players)

Berserkers now viable post April patch?

The old interrupt build, strength traded for berserk with wanderers amuelt which thousand of people tried at the same time but ofc tarcis made it – like he made shoutbow adn greatsword/lb which none ever played before him – I dont know why there are always certain people who claim they would have created a build which thousand of people already tried before/ play at the same time

Tbh I don’t even care, I don’t even play this game competitive atm. The “I made it” is always a troll to people who doesn’t show respect to whoever actually put effort to invent a potential meta and share with community and letting the community know that the invention is working.

Some people want the credit, some people steal the credit, and some people don’t appreciate the inventor and been jealous. These situation happens in irl too.

Part of the reason why a lot of time I don’t really want to share something to the community is because that pretty much 70% of the community are like the third types of people I talk about, but then I realized I shouldn’t even care and help the other 30% community.

But as the spirit in martial art, never lock yourself with your own invention, share with others, and make it better.

People that care so much that have to log on forum or take screenshot to make fun of it, all I can say is you got trolled, and you are probably the third type of people that I’m talking about. You never think about if someone doesn’t share this with you, at this point you probably still think warrior is unplayable.

Don’t you think the MaceShield/Bow-Build needs some more stability? It has only the 2 seconds from Shattering Blow (not enough for stomping) and 3 stun breaks, but on relatively long cooldowns.

How about changing King of Fires for Eternal Champion or Dolyak signet for Endure Pain?

Yes Eternal Champion might be better in most situation but only one, reaper. Sometimes a random corruption can mess you up during some 1v2 1v3 situation. But yes I have been switching these gm trait around and finding eternal champion might make the build overall better.

I tried running Dolyak signet instead of Endure Pain last night (keeping King of Fires) and did not really miss Endure Pain. I find the 2 blocks and high toughness (+180 from signet) enough to deal with most power bursts. That way you also don’t need to waste time in berserker mode for stomping but can just continue to lay down your Scorched Earths to stomp after berserk mode ends.

I played two matches as close defender and found that to be very effective without the mobility of a sword or greatsword. I play solo q only, so that wasn’t my choice, it was more because the other 4 didn’t care about close. What would you say is the main role of that build?

Hi folks, I know its end of the season 2 and I have been retired from guild wars 2 for a season, I just want to come out to act like a warrior savior like I used to be. If you still remember me (Hambow Meta and Shoutbow Meta), I’m Tarcis, from numerous but one of the top warrior in NA during 2014~2016 PvP. Now just a casual pvp player.

So after the patch, warrior’s sustain got a decent buff to where its balanced and still can be killed easily by burst. (Revenant, etc). It opens up a lot of warrior build diversity, so here I’m going to share with you the builds that I have tested and feel its decent and good in the meta.

1. MaceShield/Bow (Next Meta)

So far the best build that I found during these days. I have accomplish several 1v2s, 1v3s, and 1v4s with this build against well-known players from NA and EU. I think its far better than any other meta build atm. Nothing can beat you in 1v1. I accomplished these 1v2s 1v3s with 280 ping and 20 fps (playing in Taiwan, and on a business laptop). I give this build a 9/10.

Updated 5/12/2016- Since Merci Amulet is going to be removed, this build will still work and remain the same or even more powerful with Wanderer’s Amulet or Rabid Amulet.

2. BurnBow-

With tempest rune, you can provide decent healing to your teammate. The condition duration also helps you to maintain your burning stacks. Overall I rate this build 7/10.

So far I feel hambow is back, at least for me. This is the new version of hambow with Demo amulet. With this build you can have 20+ Might with near 100% crit chance. Your toughness is also decent with doylk Signet. This build has potential to become meta but only if revenant’s damage is nerfed. So far I give this build 8/10.

4. Hammer/Greatsword Return. (Demolosher’s Amulet)

Tarcis- Warrior Specialization Rework

There are lots of good suggestion on how to buff/improve warrior in this game. So far my favorite one on how to buff warrior sustain is to make all the stance skills become F3-F4-F5 (Endure Pain, Balance Stance, Berserker Stance). This change is perfectly fit for the core warrior. Trust me, this won’t be overpowered. Yet, you still need to buff warrior’s healing skills, because all of them are beyond useless.

Now, I’m going to talk about an idea of how to rework Warrior Specialization (Berserk).
If we look at the description of warrior in GuildWars2.com, we can see warrior as “master of weaponry”. Now take a look at warrior, are we the master of weaponry? Nope, not even close.

So, instead of giving us a useless Berserk Mode F2 and all those useless primal burst skills, please give us a 3rd weapon access (New F2). Imagine a warrior with 3 different weapon sets combination? We don’t need fast hand baseline anymore. Now this is call “Master of Weaponry”. This fits the warrior style, fits the description, fit the title of Berserk, and also a kitten cool way to buff warrior specialization.

If you look at other classes, you will find out that warrior has the least skills to use. Engi has kits, F1~F5, Nerco has DS/RS, Ele has 4 attunement(20 skills!?), Mesmer has F1~F5, Guardian has F1~F3, Ranger has 2 pets that have different skills, Revenant has 2 legends that all the utility skills are spammable.

I have no idea how you guys going to buff warriors, but I do see its a must need in future patch. I know rework requires a lot of works so all these suggestions are just for fun actually. BUT, there are so many suggestions on the forum, just pick one, and work on it.

Hi everyone, I’m Tarcis, the captain of Apex Prime.
First of all, I would like to make sure that everyone knows we are not depressed at all by losing today’s match.

In fact, we know that almost every teams in Pro League on NA are going to run this comp, which is 2 Sentinel bunker Mesmers, 2 Viper Revenants, and 1 Tempest. We prepared our kitten already and treating today’s match as a chance/practice to seek a weakness from this comp. Unfortunately, we didn’t pull out our A+ games and cannot seek any weakness in time.

The reason why I’m making this thread is because that I feel extremely disappointed when I play against this comp. It is not fun to play against, and I believe it is also not fun to watch. I do understand that everyone wants to win, but this just not healthy for this game.

You may say “Hey, The Abjured still beat double bunker mesmers comp”, but if you guys realized, Final Form’s comp is slightly different than Spookie, PZ, and Never Lucky. They have a druid instead of a tempest, and even with that, they almost pull a game from Abjured. I believe Abjured can still beat the comp like this, which us, Apex, has beaten this bunker mesmers comp in scrims too. But the fact that the skill requirement for this comp is just ridiculously low.

The comp isn’t unbeatable, but the fact that this bunkiersh comp can eliminate the mechanic skill difference between players are not cool at all. In this stage, I think everyone can just make a team and play with this comp, and will be able to compete with pro league’s teams.

EU are also running the similar comp but instead of 2nd bunker mesmer, they run marauder engi. In my opinion, both are similar but 2 bunker mesmers can be far more superior and much easier to compete.

I know the balance patch will not hit until February, 2016, but imagine that if we or no one else can figure out a solution for this comp, what will we expect on the ESL Finals in Cologne? I don’t believe that anyone wants it and I also don’t believe that Anet wants it.

Just my personal opinion here, and sorry for the broken English.

Queuing Outside of HotM

There were a few reasons for keeping players in HotM when queued:

  • It forces new players to recognize they have completely different builds in PvP maps.
  • You won’t miss the match accept because of load screens and get dishonor.
  • We can make a better user experience (match accept and map voting) without having to worry about interrupting whatever a player might be doing elsewhere.

In order to allow queuing from outside HotM, we would need to change these things.

  • We would need tech to remove players temporarily from queue during load screens.
  • Create better tutorials or gating for new players so they don’t hop into PvP unprepared.
  • Revisit the way the match flow UI works.

At least, let us play in Hot-join/Personal Arena while waiting for queues?

Starting Lifeforce needs to be reviewed

In fact life force needs a nerf, then you can have a starting life force.

and also, comparing adrenaline to life force is super dumb. Life force gives you extra million sustain and extra 5 skills for you to spam while adrenaline only just provide you one skill to use and its thousand times harder to gain compare to life force now.

Life force tankiness needs to be nerf, life force regeneration needs to be nerf, then, we will talk about starting with certain percentage of life force.

celestial needs to go or get changed

I second this, if Anet wants a healthy environment, they need to remove Celestial Amulet or Nerf the stats hardcore like 20%, and also nerf passive damages such as conditions, bleeding/burning/torment/poison/chill/fear that every condis deals damage passively.

Bunker Guard is Dead

As soon as Minstrels was added, the pace of top tier competitive games/scrims on EU was slowed to record low levels.

We’re talking, 130-125 timer wins. With skilful rotation-matching, and neutralizing of points, the match is twisted into a whole different game, one that clearly Anet wasn’t happy with.

Something that I feel that Anet was looking more at was:

  • How is the overall pace of the game? Are fights ending when one side becomes outnumbered? Are kills happening?
  • What is the time-to-neutralize for 2 roamers against one Minstrels bunker? Does that fit in line with the current healthy time for 2 roamers to force the Minstrels bunker to concede the point, or die?

Don’t shoot the messenger guys, but it looks like Minstrels Amulet failed to pass those little checks, despite having 560 useless stats (concentration stat not online yet).

So basically you are saying that 2 Celestial/Soldier Amulets cannot kill a Minstrels Amulet bunker causing the balance issue in this game? I don’t think so.

In fact classes with hybrid damage and also having huge sustain shouldn’t be able to kill things fast, so adding Minstrel was a good move for balancing the game. Players will have to go heavy Berserker or Conditions to kill them fast, which in result to cause them more squishy, and that is call balance.

Bunkers/Supports supposed to be hard to kill, but deals no damages. Reward/Risk 0% and 0%
Dps supposed to squishy, but deals the most damage and impact the game with good plays. Reward/Risk 100%/100%
Hybrid supposed to be medicore on both sustain and dmg, and shouldn’t be able to kill any bunkers even with two of them. But currently Hybrid is killing everything while being unkillable. Reward/Risk 100%/0%

Simple logic.

I believe hybrid builds with no reward/risk plays is always the problem of Guild Wars 2, so as players attitude on how to balance this game and how they communicate with Devs.

Ofc some classes like druid with Minstrel amulet are unkillable and dumb, but fixing the class is a better way than just remove an amulet that opens up so many build diversity

Just want to share some opinion about berserker warrior.
Currently, a decent berserker warrior is having 50/50 chance against anything besides a good mesmer. You can make the chance higher to like 70/30 or 60/40 depends on how you play and how your opponent plays.

Guardian "Feel My Wrath" Unnecessary Nerf

Feel My Wrath only used by bunker guardian and yet it is easily counter by boon rip and corrupt boons from mesmer/thief/nerco.

Putting it on 45 Sec CD is like making a good and half decent skill become useless.
Maybe we will have to see what’s other changes but this nerf is really unnecessary. If so maybe make Feel My Wrath instant cast? Since it’s a shout it should be instant cast. If this shout become instant cast then the CD increase Nerf will make sense.

ps. I don’t play guardian but I just think this nerf doesn’t make any sense, why not just focus on balancing the real overpowered spec/skills in this game? Instead of touching skills that people barely use/play on NA/EU? (In PvP I mean)

If there are any explanation it will be so awesome to know why this skill is nerfed. Maybe is because of PvE?

So let me explain something so people can discuss more. The reason why I have these things on the list is because not that are op, it is because that they are all game changers with very little to none counter play. I will explain each of them individually that what’s in my opinion.

1. Dagger/Dagger Celestial Elementalist, it is a game changer due to the that if a player plays decent, they can survive and kiting a decent amount of the time in 1v2 or 1v3 situation, not only that, the they have everything in the game, teleport, mobility, burning stacks, condition cleanse, blind spamming, you name it. The only counter to dd ele is if you have a way to one shot them (thief mesmer) or chill and boon rip them in the right time (nercomancer). But when an ele uses vamp rune, these counter will be even harder to happen.

2. Rune of Vampirism- When you see everyone using the same rune, you know it’s overpowered. The fact it is a game changer because it rewards player’s bad plays from over-extending in a team fight and can still survive with the mist form proc, this rune benefit the most on thief, mesmer, ele, and engineer. The only counter to this rune is if you can one shot them when their hp is >= 20%, or condi bomb them before they going to the mist, which normally won’t happen. Another thing is that in the mist form, it also increase player’s movement speed by 33% as I remember. In conclusion it’s a passive proc with very nice power stats and very nice leeching proc that boost dmg and survivability at the same time.

3. Burning Stacks and damage, the problem mainly came from dd ele and maybe burning guardian. Dd ele with their burning stacks kills everything in the game while they remain as tankier as a bunker guardian. Burning guardian is easier to counter but if player doesn’t react fast enough they might get one shot by the burning stacks provided from burn guards. A lot of counter plays to the burn stacks but just the fact it is too powerful consider it is a passive overtime damage.

4. Shadow Art Thief’s Merciful Ambush- This trait has 0 counter when it comes to thief + elementalist combination. Stealth the ele before they mist form away will guarantee the ress 100% without any mechanic requirements but just pressing interact key. This is a big game changer because of its short iCD that allows thieves be able to trigger this trait several time in one team fight. In conclusion this trait is easily to pull out with very tiny chance to counter once it comes to a team play.

5. Ranger’s taunt, this is mainly a bug because I believe nothing in the game should goes through dodge. Taunt shouldn’t go through Block either because that’s how it work from Berserk taunt and Revenant taunt.

6. Nerco’s Vampirism signet- same as ranger ’s taunt, but this one can also go through invul, and it will also corrupt 2 boons, guess nothing should be able to goes through dodge/invul/or even obstructed unless its a ground target skill.

7. Nerco’s spectral armor under DS mode, this one I have to talk about. It it not overpowered but people have to learn how to fight against this. The trick a nerco will abuse is they pop Spectral Armor and then go in Death Shroud. This trick is really powerful because it will absorb all the incoming damage and make yourself pretty much invul for 6 seconds. Under the effect of protection, a nerco can easily absorb 3~4 people’s damage for their team and wasting enemies’ burst CD to ensure that their teammate stay in a healthy environment. This is a big game changer because people still don’t know how to fight against this. In fact, there are no solutions yet to against this Spectral Armor + Death Shroud combination. Condition isn’t the answer due to the fact you need to hit them to apply condition, which they are also absorbing them too, not even talking about that they can passively transfer the condition back. This combination I normally joke around that it is a 10x better version compare to any other invul in this game. It is really strong with very little counter play. Most of the people might need to learn how to fight against this, same as you see warrior’s endure pain, you kite them until their endure pain is gone, but against Spectral Amor + Death Shroud, you must kite them while not attacking them because if you do, you are feeding nerco to gain lots of life force to be even tankier, but if you don’t attack them, they are not taking any damage and the fact they can always go in Death Shroud mode again every 10 sec, so it is different story compare to other invul like Elixir S, mist form, etc. Tt confuses player that think you are still doing damage on the Nerco but the fact it is pretty much under Endure Pain and Berserker Stance at the same time. And this is the reason why I put this on the list. Little to none counter play so far imo.

Add Rampage to that list.

It’s not overpowered, it just promotes bad play styles. I’ve met too many warriors that rely 100% on that elite for Victory, nothing else.

I don’t think that would be convenient for this person’s list. :P

I was one of the reason why Rampage was nerfed from the last balance patch. A lot people gathered together in a Skype group and think about how to nerf rampage. Me and Rom was the one saying to make the CD increase to 180. And people was saying even engi’s rampage is way better now due to its elixir duration and short CD, and they can counter rampage so easy by turning them into moa without an obvious animation. Idk about the salt of saying it won’t consider in my list but this just getting annoy. You don’t even know I’m a good part of reason why warrior was nerfed so much compare from 2014 to now. The adrenaline punishment and so on you call it.

It’s not listed in the tooltip, but there is a 10 second CD per ally. Ignorance is typically what gets thief nerfed. Funny that you didn’t mention anything about warrior in your post. I feel that rampages damage is still too strong.

Ok roger that, sorry for misunderstand of the trait. And what needs nerf as a warrior? Rampage is already nerfed in its CD and its easily countered by blind/weakness/slow/kiting, you name it. So I don’t think its OP with such long CD but it’s definitely a game changer.

first of all, those are not 1v2s, they are 2 1v1s back to back, massive diference

in the first vid you ran to reset your hp, so dont say without any reset, then you killed the ele, great, then AFTER that the second ele came and you beat him too, amazing! still not 1v2 though

second vid you rampaged the ranger, then the war jumped you and you ran to wait around the corner and blasted him

I think I get why people respect you as a player. It isn’t just skill or, play style etc (and I know you have experience and expertise in both).

It is a humble attitude and the willingness to improve. A lot of ‘top’ players in games or sports or what have you tend to get stagnant because they think they have hit a plateau, usually going hand in hand with arrogance.

I am glad to see someone recognized by many conducting themselves in this manner. Kudos.

Nothing much to say but thanks so much for the compliment! I’m always willing to learn and I know that no one is perfect in this world. The purpose of this post is to lower the hate of DD Eles recently, and actually to enjoy with people who dislike DD Ele a lot. Hopefully people don’t misunderstand that I’m saying DD Ele is balanced, which it isn’t. It’s probably… nope it’s for sure the most broken build happened in GW2 history since launch.

first of all, those are not 1v2s, they are 2 1v1s back to back, massive diference

in the first vid you ran to reset your hp, so dont say without any reset, then you killed the ele, great, then AFTER that the second ele came and you beat him too, amazing! still not 1v2 though

second vid you rampaged the ranger, then the war jumped you and you ran to wait around the corner and blasted him

I was gonna ask Tarcis the same thing about thieves coz I struggle against them. For me it’s more like 30/70, lol, but I’ll practice his advice so maybe my chances improve.

Zerker warriors counter d/d eles the same way shoutbow warriors countered them before the June patch.

How do you deal with thieves? When I’m on zerker warrior, I’m having the toughest time vs thieves coz Im noob scrub unlike you.

When I fight thief I always look at their blind skills (D/P #3 and #5), and lure them to let them think that they gonna blind you, which you pop your berserker stance right before you are about to get blind. At this moment thief thinks they are safe but in fact its their most risky moment. You can use this moment to out dmg them to force them to pop their cd and then you win the 1v1 bascially. Sometimes I will mess up too, but I guess warrior can beat thief like 70/30 chance. (Warrior has bigger chance to win for sure)

We all know the best way to beat Cele eles are to either roll necro (the safe way) or to go full damage in order to burst the cele ele in order to counteract their sustain. I too prefer the high risk high reward way ;p

Without any CD reset, I called it a 1v2 (more like a 1v1 non-stop :P). Use this video to show how zerker warrior can be a high risk/high reward setup if played well. Nothing offensive to players in this video, they are all good players.

The meta now is just super tanky while doing berserker like damage. And only few classes can do this(nerco, ele, engi), by this, we can know the game is hella unbalance and nearly to the dead point if anet balance team not going to take some nerf actions.

Eles beings this tool out every 10s… you can imagine its AoE usefulness now.

Nobody uses RoF every 10s, you would have to skip several skills just for this.

Sad part is they can. Can’t believe the ele main doesn’t know how his own class works. Basically in a team fight if you ring of fire and people pay attention to that, that’s a good dodge bait and if people don’t dodge then gg 3 stacks of burning every time you go in and out.

…and everytime you walk into Wall of Fear you get feared. So stop walking into it?

Bro, DD Ele can do 10x better than those things you listed above.
So, both classes are broken as F, but this patch is probably just a transition patch for expansion I believe. (I hope so?)

If they nerf the physical damage and condition damage, the fun will be gone.
So far this game is super duper fun to play. The skilled one will not get 1 shot by thief mesmer combo. Bunkers who really build into tankiness are really tanky. Zerkers who build themselves into bursty are super squishy.

Celestial amulet, aka hybrid build isn’t op anymore due to the condition changes + stats changes + boon duration changes +they will get easily shut down by a well-coordination burst combo. (Unlike pre-patch, a Celestial setup is tankier than any other builds that actually build directly for tankiness, and deals 100x more damage).

To be honest, the game is super fun now, and the patch only hits for like 3 days. Please stop complaining and let the meta roll for a while. Burning stacking might need to be looked at, and Mesmer’s Elite “Moa” should be able to moa rampages/tornado/plague/lich form these types of Elite skills to make counter play.

Right now, a well-coordination burst setup can possibility take out “real” bunkers within 30 sec. If the damage gets nerfed, I assume that the bunkers will never die. And that towards to another problem, Celestial rise again and people only will play low risk high reward builds.

Even now with the damage we have, Bunker Necromancer takes forever to kill.

Here is what I want to say, I hope devs saw this and hope they don’t do some bad decision.

I get these feeling from scrimming high-tier tPvP teams and that’s what I feel and what I can tell.

I thought my character was bugged at the moment when I see 15 min.
The queue actually poped at 17 min, which I think it breaks my previous record 13 min.

Can you guys at least let us join some hotjoins or personal arena to duel with friends while waiting for these life wasting queues? The average queue time for me now is around 8~9 mins, which is just ridiculous .

Waiting these queues also sucks for streamers to stream Guild Wars 2 PvP. Viewers lost their interest by watching streamers just standing in HoTM and do nothing but killing golems. I believe most of the streamer in Guild Wars 2 PvP has whined about that they can’t do anything while waiting for the queue pop. Even veteran players couldn’t really handle these boring queue times, how about those new comers who just join Guild Wars 2 PvP?

All the sigils are passive, stop the QQ about on swap been passive. Compared with the other sigil types this is the least passive kind.

-condi duration sigils: passive
-permanent bonus: passive
-on kill: passive
-proc on crit: passive
-on weapon swap: passive you were already swapping weapons
on hit: passive

That is the nature of sigils and runes, they add passive effects to the character.

IMO sigils are the only thing that keeps this game a bit balance now. Without those sigils, DD Eles, Cele Engis will be a lot harder to kill.

Zerker Engi’s power stats pretty much same as celestial, are we playing the same game? If re-balance power stats on your class happened, which will balance the damage on celestial engi and you also still have decent burst if you decided to go berserker engi.

Nerfing power coefficients = equally affecting Berserker and Cele builds, you gotta look beyond the amulet for a second.

My only point that you don’t really understand the full implications of what you’re suggesting. Any Engi who plays static discharge will be like: “Anet WTF, I already sucked, thanks.” I don’t think they’d be like, “o well at least I can still do a decent burst,” like you say. Lmao.

Don’t get me wrong, I agree with most of your changes and end-game. But I think you should go back to the drawing boards on coefficient rebalancing

If you read then you should know I did not put any numbers on the suggestions. And also I don’t think it’s right to balance the game according to the none-meta builds. If I was like you then I wouldn’t suggest the adrenaline nerf in the past because all other warrior builds suck balls, especially rifle killshot. If you really want to talk about none-meta build, then I have way more options to discuss here with you. But yea maybe you are right and maybe I’m wrong, but most likely I believe those suggestions will have more positive impacts than negative impacts. Nothing will be perfect.
