Maybe I don’t give two craps about “there are more good places to get lots of gold”, this plain and simply is lies perpetrated by anet – “we want you to play however you enjoy playing”, LIES, because now I can’t do what I enjoy doing to earn “money”. I “HAVE” to do X Y or Z instead of A B or C, THEY decided that, and makes that statement of theirs a LIE. period full stop!
Sorry but youre misreading that “play how I want”. Its PLAY how you want, not BE REWARDED how you want.
I want 10 gold an hour running jumping puzzles, and guess what! I cant do it. Too bad for me. You want to make 10 gold an hour speedrunning dungeons? Too bad, cant do it.
Got to live with it because they arent designing the entire economy (and yes, the gold you make effects the entire economy, so if they revert this change it would be screwing over every other player) around what YOU want.
I only care about fair, and it’s not fair any way you even think of trying to flip it. So you’re saying it’s “fair” that the dungeons rewarded as much as they did for as long as they did, and it’s completely fair to nerf them especially as hard as they did? Please do tell me how! How is it fair that PlayerA ran dungeons for 80 days to make 4000g to buy Eternity – yet NOW anet decided to nerf it so hard that it would take PlayerB 160 days to earn the same 4000g?
This is certainly a slap in the face to ALL players the way I see it. It’s a slap in the face to people who used to run dungeons for the gold, because they cannot do so any longer (well of course they can, at a MUCH decreased rate). It’s a slap in the face to people like me who haven’t done that, we now no longer have that as an option even if we wanted to do it. Likely the worst slap in the face is to new players (even though they may not even be aware of it), because they NEVER had the chance. So it’s ok for PlayerA to do it, but not PlayerB – that’s called “favoritism” (read: not fair).
I was also thinking “raid’s” would be the “answer”, oh boy was I wrong – “maybe they’re ‘moving’ the gold from dungeons to raids”. Yea right! At a MAX of 24g per WEEK, that’s a SLAP in the face too. 24g per week. GTFO.
Thanks anet for showing us that you don’t want us to play however we want, thanks anet for showing us that you favor certain players over others, and thanks anet for showing us that you’re like EVERY other COMPANY out there in that you ONLY care about your bottom line. Unless you make your wrongs to not only me but your ENTIRE player base, not a single red cent of mine will make it into your bottom line EVER AGAIN (read: unless there are changes, NO, I wont be buying any further expansions, or ANY other anet ‘products’)… There, my turn to slap you in the face!

While I appreciate this idea of “collaboration” between the team and the community, I won’t believe it until I see it… And the track record is not proving positive.

Stop using condition builds. That will solve all of your problems.
Its not like you jump into Arah, hide behind a tree and look for path-buyers to scam. Everyone can see where you are, therefore you have to complete the path. And then, when everyone has paid, you can choose:
Kick them and eat 4 reports or hit the endboss 3 times (takes a few sec) and get the end reward.
So, why again should I scam people?
Simin isn’t even the reason people avoid doing P4. The Grenth AFKfest is.
I like how some of the comments in the thread and shaming the OP for being in cleric’s gear, and completely ignoring the topic of the thread just because they want to troll.

Well he came on this forum (which is full of kittens) and started ranting about inexperienced players joining his dungeon runs, when he is the one that is complained about constantly by everyone on this forum for being useless. Maybe all his inexperienced pugs were dying because their team didn’t have any damage.

Huge Congrats BG! Well Done!
I like Molch’s special snowflake build
Thief traited for +50% damage while downed. Just make sure people don’t res you!
See? This is why we need a cohesive plan. People just wander in here and get infracted.
Shoulda went imbagon.

But does that make the staff a bad weapon? I think it’s excellent. Especially if you are running a Fear build.
Please tell me you’re not using fear on groups of mobs.
That is a situational thing. Incoming mobs that attack the party head on can be perfectly kept busy with a spectral wall, which they mindless charge into.
And if too many enemies go after me, a fear can be helpful to clear the area. But no, I’m not the kind of necro that constantly fears whole mobs away while the rest of the team is trying to hit them.
But why this elitist attitude against other classes in general? Are warriors and guardians really the only way you folks want to play?
Ah here we go. It’s time to play the ’ you’re an elitist scumbag’ card. My personal favorite.
How many people do you need in close combat really?
everyone. just look at obal’s fractal 48s.
There’s condition damage

reflects, aegis, protection, might and fury are the support that matters
crippled, chilled, vulnerable and weakened
vulnerable yes, but how does slowing their movement matter if you’re in melee? and how does slower cooldowns from chill matter when AI mobs have no cooldowns?
I’ve seen plenty of warriors and guardians charge into that final mob at Urban Battlegrounds, and get absolutely decimated, while the softer ranged classes take out the mobs before they are even close enough to do any real harm.
They died because you were being lazy, camping behind them and not supporting them.
As much as I dislike this sort of attitude myself, I’m getting tired of people pointing to downed Guardians and Warriors and saying how much they suck, when in fact it’s usually these classes that are up at front meleeing things that are the real heroes in dungeons.
I notice your character is using staff, which is understandable against Mossman since he’s such a frustrating boss to melee (so I’d give a pass there), but if you were staying at range the whole time for every fractal while your Guardian was up there in melee, well…
Basically, one’s ability to stand at range and cast spells while others run up in the front and melee, holding aggro and dealing more damage, isn’t really indicative of the ranged player’s skill. It shows their ability to be carried by others willing to fight head to head, melee, with mobs.
Okay sorry for the broken links in the other areas.
First off I primarily play PvE and WvW. I like playing builds that fly in the face of what others consider “mandatory” and pulling them off. In this build there is 0 Arcane which many people would say is impossible.

No offence, but that’s some of the worst gameplay I’ve ever seen, both from you and your opponents, even in hotjoin.
You almost never dodge (even if you did, you have no vigor) or put stone barrier up. Your enemies seem to be braindead because even if they outnumber you they don’t actively attack you. At around 8 minutes you fight against a necro and a thief, and they just seem to watch and stand there as you cast churning earth (without arcane shield or flash, and with a lowly 1400 toughness) and then get hit by it. The warrior at the start of the video even ACTIVELY RUNS INTO YOUR CHURNING EARTH RANGE.
Against non-braindead opponents you won’t last longer than a few seconds because you don’t have protection, or regeneration, or stability for ether renewal, or any source of defense or heals besides water 3 and 5 and you only have 1400 toughness.
Your build has 30 (lost) points in fire, yet you spend most of your time in earth. You try to make a condition build that’s earth based (for bleeding) yet you don’t use the fire trait that gives you burning on crit (no matter how bad the trait is it’s still our only chance to give us 2 damage conditions in 1 attunement). You have 20% reduced cooldown on fire skills yet you’re almost never in fire and when you are you don’t stay long enough for the cooldown reduction to matter, and if you switch out it doesn’t matter either because your attunement cooldown is atrociously long.
You use Pyromancer’s Puissance for might stacking, yet you never have more than 7-8 stacks of might, and most of the time you have either 0 because you haven’t been in fire for so long or around 3-4. The average amoung a normal build with sigil of battle has is 5-6 which makes a gorram weapon enchant MUCH better than your chosen grandmaster trait in your build.
I’m sorry to break it to you but your build isn’t anywhere near viable. Just like every other ele condition build, alas.

An easy solution to your problem is starting your own group, and advertising that it’ll be a non-glitch run.
Use http://gw2lfg.net/ if you don’t already.
Or for glitchers to advertise that their run will be a glitch run. Why does the burden of glitching content fall on people who want to play normally?
Glitching creates the problem of people not ever learning dungeon mechanics. If you can’t beat the spider queen without dragging her out of the room then you will never be able to handle harder bosses in the game. If you can never beat Kholer or cannot kill Colossus Rumblus without stacking at a pillar then you don’t understand how or when to dodge and you are doing yourself a disservice.
That being said there is a difference between not being able to do these things and choosing not to. Does it speed up the run to glitch the spider queen? Most of the time it does. Is the run faster skipping Kholer? Yes (although you can kill him in 3-5 minutes tops and he’s worth almost 20 silver so there really isn’t a reason to skip him). Rumblus being faster drug to a pillar is debatable since if people know what they are doing you probably lose less damage with one person periodically dodging than everyone having to stop doing damage to revive someone when pulling him out of the room since you can’t really dodge his attacks that way.
Some people want to get through content as quickly as possible and that is their choice and they are entitled to it. I don’t however see a problem in asking for boss fights that can’t be turned into AFK fights.
“L2P” from a thief means:
Roll a thief and play around with stealth. Learn what thieves do by being the thief yourself so when you go back to your main you know their next move.
Once you understand the thief, fighting one will feel as though you are reading a book. Fights against them will feel so pathetic that you will wonder why you ever kittened about them in the first place. And if you are that good, their first attack will tell you everything about them.
Seriously, just try one out and tinker with them.
….. or something along those lines.
Recipe for success for a thief:
Quick reaction time
Ability to flow in and out of range of targets at will
Knowing the movesets of all your enemies
Having a good sense of your environment
Ability to out-maneuver your enemy
Heavy damage
Always utilizing stealth attacks
Knowing the ins and outs of fields and finishers
Using weapon skills to negate damage instead of just endurance
Resource management
Recipe for success with a Guardian:
Own a mouse
Own a keyboard
Obviously a GOOD guard will be doing a lot more than that but succeeding with a guard is significantly easier than with a thief (but also significantly more boring).

Those videos were very illuminating, thank you. But there is still a lot room for improvement.
That’s where the rangers come in!

We have basically two types of dungeon runs: Zerg Run and Full Clear. The Full clear is the least liked becasue of the “rick vs. reward vs. time” that everyone has talk so much about; there is just no reason to do them. The following is an idea to try and improve on dungeons to make them more like the rest of GW2 play how you wont style, and for both types to receive rewards for the time put into it.
The main thing is that they need to give out a reward for those that choose to clear the dungeon, killing everything and doing any events. the types of reward should be of course dungeon tokens, karma vials, gold…just like you get from finishing the paths now. Make the full clear of a dungeon an extra event so you have a way to track your progress of things you have to kill and/or do. Also as an extra event you have to start and so it would not linked to the normal path runs that we have now. This way both styles of play can exist together. The amount of rewards given can easily be change on a per dungeon basis, and should be as to reflect the amount of reasonble time you have to put into fully clear that dungeon. as we all know not all dungeons or not the same.
Another thing would be how the event is kicked off. Before the event would start someone would have to talk to a non-player character somewhere at the start of the dungeon, one with a sun like symbol above their head (like the ones that usually start events.) The event when then be voted on by the party before it would start, this way it would prevent a lot of problems before they start.
In closing please leave a comment if you like this idea, so we can show Anet that we really care about this game and wont to improve on it.
What Venom related trait / effects are shared by Venomous Aura (SA XII)?
Conidtion Damage
&
Conidtion Duration
of the Thief character are not shared, correct? How about traits like:
Potent Poison (Increases poison duration by 33%)
Lotus Poison (Weaken targets for 3 seconds whenever you poison them)
Venomous Strength (When applied, venoms grant 2 stacks of might for 20 seconds)
Residual Venom (Applied venoms last one extra strike)
Leeching Venoms (Steal health when triggering a venom. This can only occur once per strike)Are these effects applied to allies?
And when a thief share Spider Venom with another player (e.g. an Ele) who land an AoE which hit 5 targets, that Ele used up all 5 Spider Venom strikes, correct?
If Leeching Venoms works on the Ele too, will he get the 5 heals in 1 AoE?Edit for extra question:
If a thief share venom with another player dealing the same condition, say to share Ice Drake Venom to an Ele who use Freezing Gust, will the Chill stack?Basilisk Venom and other stun don’t stack, correct?
Thanks.
Nothing is shared because the radius of the skill is beyond kitten poor, ever taking that trait is just downright dumb. The only situation I can conceive were it would be viable is if GW2 had PvE content that was hard and required tactics beyond using your heal if you get low hp and rolling your face on the keyboard so you do some damage here and there to bosses. Venoms suck ontop of all that anyways, and since PvE is so easy the only thing that matters is how fast can you run it, overall group dps would benefit more from you going a zerker build to do the most dmg possible. The only reason to not go full zerker in PvE is because you’re bad and cant survive and need the extra cushion.

Tower, you’re wrong. Ele with fgs hits harder if the target is against a good wall. You know how warrior whirlwinds into the wall for 100b damage? Well their whirl lasts twice as long. Go 3, 4, 3 lightning hammer (if the thing isn’t dead by then) or 4, 3, 2, 1, 3 and your damage will be higher than warrior or thief. The reason people don’t do this is because they’re close minded and don’t want to open their minds to the possibilities of something else working than 4 warriors or 3 warriors 1 thief or replace 1 with a guard.
Sorry to burst your bubble but the other classes are viable too.
How about no./15char
A wild CC has appeared.
Forum Community used ‘scare away’.
It was super effective.
What, the developers have plenty of time for their community.
They respond in obviously very important threads like this. Also, there are a bunch of game breaking bugs like this one that need dev attention before dungeons, because obviously, no one can play the game when an NPC is running around asking random questions. Not to mention, this guy right here had a problem with his personal story quest, I mean, who could leave someone like that standing in the cold? This guy even had such a game breaking bug, he solved it himself! He just had to read his mail! Luckily the devs tried to help him though.
I mean, the Devs need to manage their time correctly, don’t you think?
/s
TL;DR: Anet doesn’t give a flying toss about their dungeon community. This idea is only enforced by the fact that they continuously ninja nerf harmless things like the dredge skipping cage jump and add some boulders in snowblind etc, while completely ignoring every outcry of the community on actually game-breaking issues.
