It downloads 34mb then stops downloading as the speed jumps to 13mb/s which is a lie since its not downloading then it rapidly falls down to 0.

Wyverns, and the bloodstone one

Enemies using AoE skills usually display a red circle indicating their attack. For Wyverns this does not occur. Why? We are used to red circles, orange circles, anything indicating a danger zone.

Yet for Wyverns you make them invisible which adds an arbitrary level of difficulty that shouldn’t be there. It just makes it really bothersome to fight them.

Well, more particularly, the Bloodstone-Crazed Wyvern. That one drops fire fields that deal massive damage in seconds, and there is no warning that the attack is imminent or where the fire will drop. This makes this boss impossible to defeat with a small group, you’d need an army and enough time on the timer.

If for some reason you have issues coding red circles for wyverns then at least increase the bloodstone wyvern boss event timer to 25 minutes so people can gather enough help to kill it in time.

When looking at the LFG window it should be made apparent if any parties exist in each category, and also how many.

Some of those categories are unused because people generally only look in the main ones, but if there was a visual indication that there is a party looking for players in less used categories, such as the Mentoring one, then those would actually see some use.

So you’re totally fine with the game being won by who snipes the beast? All other maps require fighting over objectives, that is killing each other to score the objective for your team. Forest here is the only exception, with those beasts making you shift focus over to landing the last hit on them. I say I don’t like that mechanic, and I have stolen beasts myself mind you, doesn’t mean I like it.

My opinion stays that it should be changed. The channeling suggestion I made makes it fair for all too. Fight for the objective, those who survive claim it.

Anyway…

Point taken ’bout the downed state for beasts also being exploitable. So, next idea, which I already had in my mind btw: The beasts will serve as guardians to an orb of power, once they die the orb will appear and players will have to channel it. Any damage will interrupt the channeling, similar to how the Temple of the Silent Storm channeling works. The orb will give the points and the buff that the beasts used to give.

Also I like the idea of Trebuchets being neutral, that is usable and damagable by both teams. My suggestion also included the treb control area being neutral for both trebs so this suggestion is a nice alternative, and probably way easier to implement for Anet.

I suggest some change to these 2 maps.

Forest of Niflhel: Change the beasts to go into downed state like lords do and use downed skills to try and prevent their death. They could also rally.
The reason for that is to reduce beast stealing as some classes are better at that than others.

Battle of Kyhlo: Change the trebuchets to work in a similar fashion to how Skyhammer works. Just that they would be limited to the middle control point alone and will not affect the other points. So, at certain intervals during the match both trebs will unlock and you’d need to capture them, upon capture they will fire a big volley at the clock tower that will cover the entire area and not just the point, the impact will neutralize the point.

Alternative Battle of Kyhlo: Keep trebs as they are but with one change. Make each impact of the Treb alter the control point by 25% control for the team shooting the treb.

Mystic Forge Stones, add more uses

Having so many of them, as of now 254… Their only use is in making mystic salvage kits.

Since I have the salvage-o-matics I use the copper one for most things and mystic salvage kits for the better things. The silver salvage-o-matic lies unused because the mystic kits provide less costly salvaging and I can get pretty much an endless supply of them.

So, if those stones had another use, something worthwhile… The silver salvage-o-matic might become relevant again.

Voices, will we ever get more?

Well, let us look back to Guild Wars 1 yes? There all characters are human, but each Class has its own voice actor for each gender.

With each expansion, Cantha and Elona that is, they added 2 more classes.

All in all they went up to 20 diffrent voices in the game eventually, without counting the other supported languages so that means more.

I do believe they have room to add more here.

Hmm, well.. Statistically I believe most players play Human characters. Most of my 9 characters are Human. One for each other race, except Sylvari where I have 2 though one is a revenant which I have abandoned. So thats 4 Humans, and would really like diffrent voices for them.

So, if Anet was to add extra voices for just the Human race, that would be alot less taxing.

inb4 you call me a racist, lol. In the end we are humans so we tend to play humans more…

Only 1 set character voice for each race+gender combo.

I really would like to have more voices.

Whats ten more voice actors? And I don’t think they even keep them around on a regular salary, only comission more recordings when the need arises. Though the old ones probably get extra cash to maintain consistency.

Another idea is to code in Pitch modification for the existing voices, but those tend to sound horrible.

Hey, incentive: would make players get more Total Makeover Kits in order to change their voice.

Match Abort, please do it already

Its a very simple request. When counting down to the match starting, if not all players are connected then abort the match, freeze the clock, anything. Just don’t start a 4v5 or worse match.

Its a free win for the 5 and an unfair loss to the 4 or less. The match is pretty much already over and decided as soon as it starts, you just wait for the bitter end.

I just lost 2 ticks on my tier due to such a game that started as 4v5. That game should not have started.

Either abort the match or… If not everyone are connected then freeze the clock and say “waiting for players” until everyone are present. Give it 2 minutes from that point until aborting the match entirely. Either way abort is required.

Once aborted disconnected players will get a strike. On 3 such strikes they’l get dishonored.

I get the whole data center problem. Its time you resolved it somehow, because this is a needed feature.

I transferred from EU to NA (at a cost) to play with my friend from NA. But I want to transfer back so I can be in an EU timezone guild again.

I do want to be able to play with my friend still though… Why so complicated.

I cannot use my class specialization at all, I learned it using my available hero points but I cannot equip the new weapon or the new skills…

This is an idea to change downed state in sPvP into something else. Downed is fine in PvE and WvW but in sPvP I think we need something else.

So what is Ghost State? When you die you become a ghost until you respawn. Ghosts can move very slowly and have limited-use specific ghost state skills. For example skill 1 could deal some damage, enough to kill a really low hp enemy. Skill 2 would heal some and stun break an ally, skill 3 heal and remove conditions. Skill 4 stun enemy for 1 second.

Ghosts would have like 2-4 charges to use on activating their skills, after expending them they can just walk around slowly and wait to respawn. Could scout enemy movements.

There could be traits to enhance Ghost State like there are traits now that enhance the Downed State, like gaining extra charges, added effects, etc. Ghost state skills should be selectable so a condition-based build will use a skill 1 that inflicts bleeding instead of direct damage.

Finishers in sPvP will activate automatically when you land the killing blow on someone, their corpse will be the target of the finisher and a Ghost version of the player will move around in the Ghost State.

This is something to think about.

Talking about the special harvesting tools from the gem store. I want to be able to exchange one for another.

When the first of such tools were released I immidiatley bought them because I saw ’em and thought kitten thats awesome I want it! Since then numerous alternatives have been released but I already bought the original ones that were made first.

Seems rather pointless to go and spend more gems on the same thing which only has diffrent graphics, and what would I do with the special tools I already bought? Salvage them? lol

So, I think we deserve the ability to exchange special harvesting tools for another type. Be it a once-only exchange for the first tools that have been introduced, or a certain fee paid to make the exchange (in gold, not gems), or a once per account per type of tools.

Also, we need a preview for those things in the shop, though I imagine there’s always player-made previews on youtube and such, but still.

Situation is this: Ranked or Unranked match is starting. Map has been selected, players are waiting for the game to begin. Clock is counting down to start the match, but one or more players are not present for some reason. This happens alot! Far too much, so…

If they don’t come back by the time the match is supposed to start then abort the match! Declare an instant draw and give all remaining players reward tier points (200-500) as compnesation for their wasted time.

@Andred: All the items I mentioned should be usable by all characters on your account freely at all times without the need to transfer them via the bank. Currently the only option I can see in the game that would allow that is the Wallet.

Now SonOfJacob’s improved wallet idea there includes withdrawable items, so that can work for those items too.

Hey Anet, I’ve read in the announcement that you’re looking into making improvements that would also fit big guilds. An idea popped into my mind there so i’l share it.

Allow guilds to create a “New map instance license”, where they can essentially open a completely new instance of a whole map just for the guild and anyone invited (via partying). This would be particularly useful in Orr for organizing Temple events.

Anyone in the guild would be able to join the map instance from anywhere in the world with a click of a button (in the guild window). And once a guild is sure that all its members are there and they want more help the guild leaders can choose to open the instance to everyone. The license would last for 8 hours, and could be closed to shut down the instance and freeze the timer.


Another idea about the megaservers. Since these servers are essentially channels of the same map it would be handy to be able to select which version of the map you want to join. So, a selection window, similar to the PvP match list. You could switch channel at anytime and move to a diffrent instance of the map without going back to character select and back into the game (which is random). In the list you’d see how many players are present in the instance and what is the main language spoken in it, if its too full you won’t be able to join of course.

Yep, not on use but instantly account bound. Legendary weapons are Legendary and so being able to sell them seems off. It would also lower the prices of precursors if people couldn’t sell legendaries anymore. You make one – its for your own use. Thats how it should be.

As for the currently listed legendaries? Allow them to stay, but once removed from the TP and picked up they’l instantly become account bound.

Well, you can’t fix stupid. Since anyone can join and play GW2 some less intelligent ones are bound to come in. And then lose their accounts cus they don’t know how to keep their information safe. Stupid people exist, can’t erase them completely, have to deal with them somehow… And no, they’l never understand whatever it is you want them to understand, they just can’t. Frustrating, I know.

As for people buying the gold, if only you could convince everyone to have high morals and pay the developing company instead of some 3rd party even though its cheaper. Good luck with that.

This suggestion is meant to combat the goldsellers, and also make gems more worthwhile to buy (with money, not gold). I hate the idea of these 3rd parties thriving on the backs of game developers. There’s no real way to stop them, other than competing with them.

You can ban millions of stolen hacked accounts and still they’l live on and keep hacking more. There’s no shortage of ignorant players that don’t know how to keep their personal information safe enough, and new players come and go all the time. We all hate the spam and the ever growing block list.

The only real way to stop the goldsellers is to make it not worth their time to even do it in the first place. So how to do that?

Suggestion 1:
Anet employees should search online websites that sell GW2 gold and find the current cheapest offering site. Heck google is actually _ sponsored_ by some of those links.
Then on a weekly basis update the Gem purchase price accordingly and undercut the lowest price those goldseller opportunists are selling at, adjust by the current ratio of gems to gold in-game. People will prefer to buy from a trusted source – ArenaNet, so if Anet directly competes with the goldsellers Anet will win and crush them.

Suggestion 2:
Offer ‘subcription’ deals to players. By subscribing for a mothly deal, or a per 6 month deal or even a per year deal, players could get a regular income of gems at a reduced cost that will make it far more efficient and worthwhile.

Magic find is a pointless stat, there shouldn’t any player-side modification to drop rates. Players should be focused on playing the game and having fun, not worrying about whenever they have enough magic find to get good drops from what they are doing right now. Even on food it is a loss of stats, because there is much more useful food out there that can add very useful buffs instead of MF buffs – but MF buff is pretty much all that matters on food. The most expensive food is the stuff that gives MF – and that alone shows how stupid this is.

Its not a matter of choice. When MF is in the game what it tells all the players is this: Use MF or get less good drops. Thats not a choice. Thats forcing everyone to use MF or get less good drops. Some people don’t care and are willing to sacrifice the opportunity for better drops in favour of actually having useful stats fitting for their build. Most are selfish and care for their own drops above everything else, including their buddies in the party.

When Magic Find is in the game it makes players feel that it is mandatory to use it in order to obtain good drops. This is the bottomline, the main reason why it has to be removed. To take this pointless headache away from us and let us focus on whats important in a game: having fun.

sPvP tweak: Change glory gain for capturing points

The idea here is to encourage players in the random sPvP battles to not all sit on one control point to capture it. Why do they do it now? Because only when you stand on the point when it’s captured you gain glory for it.

The required change is this: Once a control point has been captured for the team, all players on the team will recieve 10 glory (and rank). The capturing player, the one who stayed on the point to finish taking it, or in case of more than one- the first player who started taking the point among them, will get an additional bonus of 5 glory plus counting up capture points for end match stats.

Other nice-to-add modifications:

- Killing the Chieftain or Svanir should award the entire team with glory for doing so regardless of who killed the creature.

- Killing Sharks should award minor glory when fighting them on the control point only.

-When using the cannon to hit the enemy team it should count as assisting in kills the same way using the trebuchet counts. There should also be cannon hit glory gains similar to the trebuchet, and cannon reloading glory gain (minor).

Trading Post requires a few changes

First, there should be an automated process to clean up the trading post from old items. Say anything thats been around for 2 weeks and nobody bought will be automatically returned to the player as if he canceled the sale.

Second, and a more detrimental change is this: When directly selling an item to a player who ordered it there should be no fee charged by the TP. Instead, players placing orders in the TP will be charged a fee for doing so. The fee for ordering will be significantly lower than the fee to put an item for sale of course, should be 3% or so? This will encourage orders to be fulfilled and discourage players from making orders without thinking.

Alternate voice sets - increase replay value

Make another character of the same race and gender? Why it has the same voice as the first one you made! Terrible.

Made a Norn Female and wanted to hit the mute button whenever she talks? Yep, you know what I mean.

Suggestion for the future Anet: Add at least 2 more voice sets for each race+gender combination. Yes I realize this requires hiring more voice actors, but it is essential if you want to encourage players to make more characters and level them.

In the meantime you could give us a cheap and easy option: Pitch change. Let us change the pitch of the voices of our characters, just give us a slider to control it in the character screen, or at character creation but that would not help characters that are already made…

George just said the best solution here, why do we need to equip items with MF on them? I hear of people keeping an extra set of equipment on them that they switch to before opening chests. This is just a burden added to the game. MF being in food and guild buffs is fine, so increase those and remove the equipment-based MF.

Another idea is to grant a good MF boost when you fight in a map you have fully explored, encouraging players to complete exploration.

And another one, each dynamic event you complete will give you one stack of MF that will last for 30 minutes, up to a max of 25 stacks.

Don’t remove MF from the game, just remove it from equipment. Please.

@Chamone: People are selling those precursors for such an absurd price because certain 3rd party individuals are playing the market and buying those things with farmed gold and then selling them directly for real money on their websites.

So either you pay them for the item or you pay them for the gold to buy it off the market. Farming 300g? I’d like to see you do that.

There’s no reason for anything to cost huge sums of gold, without the 3rd parties there wouldn’t be so much gold in the game. Bots are making all that gold.

Agreed on this one… Change the in-combat status to whenever you attack or take direct damage. It really shouldn’t be that combat begins the moment an enemy engages you. If you don’t attack or take damage for the minimal amount of time combat will end, even if the enemy is still “nearby” just 5 platforms below.

Level 80 leveling rewards

I certainly wouldn’t mind this, heh. Just getting more and more skill points doesn’t seem rewarding enough.

The mechanic of a repeatative achievement is already there, so that can be used to implement this. As in, every 10 “levels” you earn after you’re already 80 you’l get a reward of 1 gold and a liquid karma bottle.

Maybe 1 gold is too much, but it sure wouldn’t hurt to get more gold in this game…

Rewards for special bosses and champion enemies

By special bosses I speak of the monster in the swamp and the fire elemental in metrica province. Bosses such as these, in lower level areas, should give players more incentive to defeat them, and also keep track on their timers like they do for the dragons. I’ve never seen the swamp monster, not even once. I’m unlucky perhaps, but still. Its a shame that some content is not seen at all by some of the players or is simply not doable due to lack of people to beat the boss.

There are champion enemies lurking in some places in Tyria, without events and sometimes without even a chest behind them.

My suggestion? The big bosses will drop an ectoplasm when you kill them (perhaps that should be done for the dragons as well), with a chance to also drop an extra ectoplasm or 5 exotic-grade crafting material drops (powerful blood, etc).

Champions will simply have the second reward, chance to get either an ectoplasm or 5 exotic-grade materials. That way players will have more incentive to group up and defeat these tough enemies that are otherwise ignored most of the time because its simply not worth the effort to kill them.

Note that this reward will be a drop from the monster itself in case of champions, or in the reward chest (along with the other random rewards) in case of the special bosses.

The specific reward I mentioned is merely a suggestion, if you have other ideas for what the reward could be then feel free to share.

Suggestion itself is good. However, there are balance issues to be considered… For one, if this was to be implemented it should be turned off in PvP and WvW.

Second, having several pages eliminates the cost to retrain your trait points at a trainer, well not completely but for the most part.

So, if this was to be implemented, this is how I think it should be balanced (PvE only of course):

Make a new NPC in each town or just in LA that can unlock extra trait pages for karma, perhaps from a minimum level onwards. Each extra page you unlock will cost more karma than the ones before it, up to a maximum of 4 pages total.

Switching between pages in town will not cost anything, but flipping a page while in a combat zone of any kind will cost karma. A randomly decided estimation is 10 karma per level, so 800 karma each time you flip a page at 80. And perhaps double that amount when inside a dungeon.

Costume hats should not eat your hair.

Not sure if this has been said already, and perhaps this is even a bug that was never intended. Costume hats, like the celebration hat and the witch hat, remove your hair and make you bold under them. The look would be awesome WITH the hair intact, and not eaten. So, fix this please.

Most helmets also remove your hair, and I suppose for those helmets it makes sense because they are big and all. But costume hats should not do that…

Underworld and fissure of woe

With the six gods being “silent” or gone or whatever, how would players enter the fissure of woe (Balthazar’s realm) or the Underworld (Grenth’s realm)? Also how would races other than humans enter those places? Alright, maybe they can find a special way to enter there, but still. How do you know Anet hasn’t already planned something for this? A future expansion perhaps?

Cultural Armor for Karma

Agreed, cultural armor, especially tier 3, seems impossible to get. And very much not worth it, when other exotic armors cost much much less.

Make it karma, or make it as cheap as the order armors in gold. Or both, make 2 sections to the cultural store, one to pay gold and one to pay karma.
