My beautiful Ele with her wings! <3
I tried to get the metallic parts of the bladed armor to match the wings as best I could, but I love her look! Especially with the Dominator skins!

Ehhhh, doesn’t really mean much tbh….I can usually hit 1mil or more on reaper and revenant.
A good guard shouldn’t be losing against a necro…most necros don’t carry corrosive poison cloud so they have no reflects or no way to destroy projectiles, and have limited stab.
Same here, would love some of the other armor…especially since I got stuck with the gloves u_u
When I logged on earlier it hadn’t reset for me….I really hope they fix that though
The only map I hate is Khylo….like I’d rather have the reworked sky hammer tbh. Not only is the treb just obnoxious, mostly because some people just can’t resist playing it while their team dies on point. But my camera clips like no ones business and its a nightmare. I try to avoid mid because its such a pain constantly having to zoom in and out :I
Something needs to be done about cleansing order. Like the condis would be much more manageable if all our cleanses didn’t all go on CD to clear random crap that usually isn’t affecting you as much. Too many times I’ve been in the same situation where I’ll clear weakness, vuln or chill but not the kittening 15 bleeds+10poison+4burns and god know what else
I wish #2 second attack was available immediately with no prerequisite, like everyone lol…but I wish either the orbs from the aa chain either healed more, cleansed condis or there were more of them!
Nice! I I want to like focus, but I hate having no heals with my weapon skills! Warhorn 4 in water can easily be blasted twice for a great aoe heal. I have to use action cam with D/W though, it makes aim a lot more fluid.
I main ele in pvp and and currently in the last tier of ruby(I go with reaper, rev, mes, or war if we already have an ele, don’t like stacking eles lol). But I was curious as to what you guys prefer in pvp; powerful auras or cleansing waters? Warhorn or Focus? I personally love cleansing waters with warhorn. CC+heal and a moving water field with regen for cw is awesome! Great aoe knockdown in air+swiftness, and protection+magnetic aura on a super short CD in earth! Plus I like the aoe blind and the aoe fire field. I’ve found these outweigh the reflects and invuln+condi clear with focus. I much prefer CW over Powerful Auras since you can get aoe auras with shouts and there’s so many kittening condis flying around anymore!!! Wanted to know your guys’ opinion!!
I still don’t get why people are complaining about double ele….like just take sides and gg, not that hard :I
Not to say class stacking is okay, I hate it and would love for a no stacking rule, but double ele isn’t the problem lol
If a team has 2 eles you can easily out rotate them, the class doesn’t really stack that well. They have no personal DPS and kitten mobility, and it just takes a brain to deal with them. Also remember that eles totally depend on their team to do anything anymore, focus fire the enemy team and watch as the ele helplessly runs around. Alternatively you can lockdown and ele super easily and take them out in seconds. They are effective at team support and bunkering, but have a clear weakness and aren’t as op as some of the other specs running around right now.
Support Ele, Viper Reaper, Carrion Condichrono, Paladin Herald and occasionally Wanderers Berserker…I rotate around based on team comp. I usually queue on ele and switch if we have another ele, I don’t like stacking support eles on a team. If we need powerful condi I go reaper or war, if we lack mobility I’ll go chrono, and I’ll go herald if we are lacking power damage and can use the group buffs.

Best build I found for learning as a tempest is Air/Earth/Tempest with D/W. Air gives you fresh air and fury for good DPS, and earth gives you a lot of protection! Plus DS for some condi removal. Utilities run full shouts, maybe LF for mobility. This gives you a lot of auras which will heal, give regen, vigor and 40% protection. Once you get used to it you can drop earth for fire and go full DPS!!!
Wtf is wrong with scepter??? I run it in my reaper and it’s no way overpowered, for me to get good damage I have to run viper…
I’ve had a decent experience this season. I’d say 70% of games are competitive and fun! Which I love, I haven’t had a giant win streaks but not big loss streaks either, get a 5-6 win streak here and there then some losses and the cycle continues lol. I’m not progressing quite as fast as last season, but this is much better than s1
I main ele, and almost exclusively use her in PvE at the moment. But I have 4 classes i like for PvP!! I like ele when I play support, reaper when I wanna go hybrid(been playing a viper build), reveneant when I want a powerful bruiser(I use a paladin build) and mesmer when I feel like playing something fun and tricky!!
Shield works really great with scepter though…you get 2 illusion summoning blocks, clone on AA, and a decent cc option for landing bursts. But I use Sw/T for my other set, so I still get my stealth and burns from torch, I dropped staff because it feels like the most useless weapon ever and I hate it baha
I thought getting the wings was pretty easy for the most part….mine are almost done, the hardest part is getting all the t6 mats :X so expensive!!
I would love it if the the pledge cleansed 2 conditions and blurred inscriptions cleansed 2 conditions. This alone I feel like would add a little more build diversity back to mesmer!
I wanted to try Scepter/Shield Staff Condi Chrono in sPvP, what do you think about this, guys? Is it viable? Any build? Thank you in advance x)
I’ve been using Sc/Sh and Sw/T with carrion amulet and scrapper runes. Sigils I go with double doom and bursting, running standard Insp/Illusions/Chrono except I use the trait for faster attack speed and recharge reduction with scepter. Run the standard portal, blink, SoI, heal signet and gravity well. I love it! Decent sustain but more damage output than old merc amulet. I don’t like staff personally so I run Sw/T for blur, stealth and sword 3 is good for setting up bursts!
Been playing Sw/T + Sc/Sh (I like scepter for overall DPS and clone generation and Sw/T is fun for 4,3,3,2,F3,F1,F2 shatter bursts). I use Carrion with Scrapper runes…I love it, not as tanky but solid in 1v1 with great disengage, strong in team fights(thanks to grav well especially)and a great for +1 and roaming even. Been having a lot of fun with it!!
I’ve been using a Carrion hybrid build with scrapper runes and Sw/Sh + Sc/T and its work very well I must say!
I’m content that we at least have a competitive build, I would love to play FA but I do love playing support/tank as well, and ele is the best at it. I play more than one class so I can get my DPS fix elsewhere
Scepter/Torch and Scepter/Sword are both awesome….you get better clone production and another block with sword, or stealth burns and fury from torch. Really it just depends on your personal play style!
I’ve been using carrion with Sw/Sh and S/T and it works really well. Trying lots of different runes atm, I like scrapper runes for a little extra power and toughness plus the extra damage reduction. Really liking the feel of the build though, a little more powerful than merc…you just have to actually use your blocks and active defenses well and its not as faceroll easy baha
I’ve been playing around with carrion Sw/Sh and both S/T or S/Sw; and it actually works pretty well. It has a little more damage than merc and more vitality but no toughness, which is easy to work around, just takes skilled use of your blocks and invuln. Scepter imo is now a solid weapon for PvP. You still get utility thanks to your offhand weapon, and scepter offers far more ranged pressure than staff. If you take the trait for boosting scepter attack speed and recharge reduction you get access to a block on a very short CD, quick clone generation with you AA and ether bolt hits hard even with carrion amulet. I’m still torn between torch and sword offhand though. Sword has a shorter CD on phantasm skill plus a clone generating block on a fairly short CD thanks to alacrity. Torch gives you stealth and burns, but longer CD’s, however the stealth is sort of amazing for repositioning and setting up shatter bursts!! And I run grav well over moa since the nerf, I just vastly prefer it and love the utility it offers for getting cinch rez and stomps. I’d say once mercenaries is taken out a lot of classes are gonna take a hit to survivability besides mes, and now the class isn’t gonna be as easy to play, but you have the tools to definitely do well. I think mesmer will still be in a decent place for S3!
I actually had the same thought yesterday, I think it could actually work if properly implemented. Some classes can use certain amulets without being op, and this would allow you to remove problematic specs while still allowing build diversity.
Can this please be a thing??? The skill is actually useful, but the targeting on it is abysmal….like please just let us target it, it would be great for focus too since its water skills aren’t too great atm
How exactly is ancient seeds a condi trait???
I would say start off with Earth/Air/Tempest traits and D/W or D/F (I prefer warhorn). Running earth instead of fire and full shouts for utilities gives you a lot for sustainability and protection and will make your life a lot easier. Once you’re comfortable with it then I would switch to air/fire/tempest!!
I’ve been using mercenary with krait runes, S/D + Staff and curses/sr/reap traitlines….I love it, pretty durable and pumps out loads of damage and condis
After some more testing I can say I’ve had pretty good success with both power and hybrid reaper builds. Its hard to say if it’ll work in the long run as the meta hasn’t settled though. I definitely agree with the other posts that you need to slot some boon corrupt on power builds or else bunkers can straight up face tank you. But the damage is there for sure. A well timed gravedigger could take out 3/4 of a health bar on squishier classes. I’ve also found action cam makes aiming GS skills so much easier, and with strength sigils I was always sitting at at least 10-15 might stacks. My mercenary build was just amazing though, I didn’t have as much burst but I could pump out tons of Condi’s and some power damage, and tranfering a mesmers conditions back in their face is amazing bahaha. I feel my hybrid build was just a tad more effective because I had more ranged pressure and more boon corruption.
I kittening LOVE action cam when I’m playing ele with main hand dagger, especially D/W. Its so much for fluid and much easier to maneuver….however staff and scepter I dont use it with……its just a pain with the ground targeting
I’ve been playing around with power necro and I forgot how fun it was!!! I’ve been using the new demolisher amulet with Spite/SR/Reap and D/W+GS and its awesome!! full shouts with soldiers rune for some sustain and extra bulk, its surprisingly durable and so easy to have tons of might…. Hits like a truck!!! I’ve also still had a lot of luck with my build from last season, which was a mercenary hybrid shoutmancer with S/W and Staff and Curses/SR/Reap lines….if you guys want I can whip up some builds!!
This is a build I created a few months ago….its actually not too bad, most people just don’t expect it.
I honestly had a lot more fun this season….balance still isn’t great and build diversity needs improved. But the meta is still better than S1 and the match making is MUCH better IMO. Winstreaks let me breeze to Ruby and since then I’ve had a lot of fun matches, mostly wins, but almost every game was close and challenging!
I use a merc shoutmancer with S/W and GS…I love it!!! I put a build up on metabattle a few weeks ago under mercenary’s shoutmancer…I run curses/sr/reap lines though for lots of boon corruption. I much prefer it to the meta build!
If everyone is on an equal skill level, then no. Even a good tempest couldnt deal with two necros after awhile, they can easily corrupt all your boons and fling condis around like crazy. One necro is easy, but two is gonna be hard. What weapon set do you run?? Do you use powerful auras or cleansing waters??
This would be amazing….and Sieren!!! Plssssssssssss
I’ve been playing Fresh Air S/D tempest with air/fire/tempest and paladins ammy..its so much fun actually, lightning flash+churning earth combos are a blast bahaha. But running fire I get really high damage in fire and air, its hard to play as you don’t have a ton of sustain, but you have mobility to make up for it. Its just refreshing compared to cele bunker tempest!
On the contrary scrapper is literally the most faceroll thing I’ve played. I wanted to see what all the hype was about and rolled one, uses maruader hammer build and it practically plays itself. It’s ridiculous tbh..
I’ve been using S/D paladin fresh air and S/W mercenary condi builds and both are a ton of fun! I see everyone saying they suck and are dead weight, but that’s just not true. The class isn’t face roll easy to play anymore, and I do think it could use some buffs/nerf other classes. However eles are completely viable and in the right hands very powerful!
Bahahah, and they’re totally wrong
I’ve used focus, dagger and wh offhand for the condi build, warhorn is easily the best. I prefer dagger offhand for FA builds….I’ve been using S/D its so much fun!
The one class I’ve actually had success with against a druid 1v1 is reaper! I play GS+S/W shout reaper with a lot of boon corruption. Since its a 1v1 I only really use S/W but I’m able to apply conditions faster than they can cleanse+ corrupt their boons with the scepter AA chain, “nothing can save you”, and reaper shroud 2. Plus I’m able to summons two minions with rise thanks to their pet, and apply pressure with high power damage in reaper shroud.
There’s no doubt I love arcane, and it can definitely work well! I just love running fire tbh, you get crazy high damage in fire attunement so you can just go from air overload to fire…like I’m getting 4-5k crits with burning speed 6k fire grabs, and in a pinch I can pop fire overload which I’ve gotten up to 4k per pulse….you just sort of stay on the fringes and go in when a moment presents itself, shred face, and gtfo bahahah. Side note, I played around with tempestuous aria and had a ton of fun with churning earth bombs lol….spam all shouts for might, start churning earth and lightning flash right before you cast and lol as everyone around you takes like 6-7k damage
Mercenary’s tempest is amazing, most people don’t expect condi tempests in the first place, but its pretty great!! Definitaly a fun build to play!
I’ve literally tried every trait combo for fresh air tempest. I went for fire for the big increase in damage it can give! Compared to water arcane or earth it was a little more fragile but offered a lot more punch. Either way you’re susceptible to the same things, you’ll just live like 2 secs longer with a more defensive traitline.
So, I’ve been messing around with these 2 different builds in pvp since the latest patch. Paladin’s and Mercenary’s amulets both seem pretty promising. I really wanted to share these builds with you guys and get some feedback!!! So let me know what you think!! Hope you enjoy them! Thanks

I’ve gotten 5 armor chests and a weapon chest from PvP in the last few months….from the dry top reward track!
