Can we have any news from the dev side on this, is it being looked at? Quick googling shows that the first reports of missing rewards to guild/person were done 15 days ago in reddit. And I for one quit our mission runs after puzzle/rush failed to give any rewards to anyone, including the favor to the guild. Considering these are heavily time gated things, why hasn’t there been word yet?

In our guild, 30-50 people, some had issues in not getting their personal rewards from challenge missions Crab Toss/Deep Trouble and alot of us had issues in not getting one from Trek. Since only 1 can activate a trek rune the biggest problem is what is counting as participating? We did 3 treks and it seemed the rewards were given totally randomly. I for one wasn’t even close to any of the spots but got my reward at the end. Party member activated one and was in 3 different maps in 2 different treks and still didn’t get reward. Bounty Hunt had no issues though.

What trinket is that? Amulet/ring/Accessory? Regardless that’s quite a boost for a single trinket… those of us that didn’t buy the expansion will feel the difference in WvW atleast, I think.

Explorable, Front door path, is the portal at the end supposed to be active that you can escape through it before killing the Alpha? Twice now I’ve been thrown out of the dungeon by using a dash style skill, warrior Whirlwind Attack for example, to avoid the attacks and just happening to get close to the portal —> thrown out --> no reward. Just now my party got wiped and I used that particular skill to deal the finishing blow —> thrown out --> no daily chest but got in fast enough to get the path reward, for what that’s worth. I cannot remember this happening like, before summer but not stacking seems to be the thing these days so I don’t know if this is a bug or a feature.

Missing Waypoints

A player asked some assistance to find a waypoint in Caledon Forest, after some searching we noticed that the waypoint was simply… gone. Wardenhurst Waypoint to be spesific, since I had done my world completion a long time ago the map showed me it’s done 18/18 but there were only 17 waypoints in the map. So this is blocking progress quite badly, we made a ingame report but I’m wondering if there are any other waypoints missing aswell. I’m not sure if the event “Help the Wardens defend Wardenhurst” has anything to do with it since it seems to be stuck in the last wave.

I noticed this aswell in the morning and sent a report ingame but when I logged in for some WvW and got full buffs, I got some ridicilous boosting. Do notice that I’m mostly running ascended dire armor/trinkets with some carrion items added and Radiance, Valor, Virtues traits. If you get stunned, interrupted, etc. the buffs are gone until you change back to your shield. I’m hitting 900 on carrion sword normal auto attack and 1100-1400 burn on 3 stacks and could facetank Siegerazer without going below 50% health…

EDIT: Actually it seems to reset back to normal everytime you get a boon on you but as soon as you switch weapons, you get increased stats.

So I decided to try out dungeons for the longest of times. However for the past few days I get this error code every time when trying to enter a dungeon, any and every dungeon with a group and denied entry. When entering solo no issues. Re-entering area or relog or re-joining a party doesn’t do anything. I don’t crash or or lag or anything and I can play every possible other aspect of the game without any issues. As far as I know my network settings haven’t changed. Being invisible or online has no effect. I tried to search for some answers or a fix but came up with nothing. So I ask here, how to fix this? Keep in mind that I’m somewhat computer illiterate when asking spesifics.

Serrated Stones and the tooltip

For the longest of times I decided to play with my elementalist a bit and rolled over some traits and skills when I came upon this. I know tooltips are rarely correct but I just couldn’t figure this one out. The trait Serrated Stones adds 5% more damage to bleeding foes and 20% bleeding duration increase. Okay. Can someone explain to me wth are the added tooltips on the following skills. It’s shows only on those two. Specifically the blue text: “Damage vs. Bleeding: 800” and where does that number come from? Do note that aside from this the trait works as intended.

I never figured out why the combat log acts as it does, other than it was build that way. And while all the fine additions made into to it when it was changed makes it alot more viable I still find it extremely frustrating in certain circumstances. Mainly when fighting against mesmers. Now don’t get me wrong here, last time I had problems with them I asked nicely and got some tips how to deal with the instant cast, nearly unavoidable, high damage mantras. And still I don’t mind getting almost one-shotted by them but when I lose some 10k-15k health in 1-3 shots and the log shows 15 damage, I can only assume it was the illusions, it really and seriously baffles me how this can be possible. I mean ranger pets show the damage they do, guardian spirit weapons do, even the racial elite summons show the correct damage on the log. Unless I’m missing something crucial here all I gotta add into this public complaint is: Fix your stuff please.

To all those that openly refuse to be part of this mass test without giving it a try is why WvW has remained stale for 2 years+ and why all the competitive guilds stopped playing this game out of pure boredom. Now that they finally give WvW some attention and show intent of change and balance, you guys shrug it off… then you will complain they dont ever try anything for wvw…

Huh… didn’t even think of it that way. Very well, I shall give Anet the benefit of doubt for once. On the promise that they stop implenting unwanted changes. Or would atleast try to convince the core of WvW playerbase with their changes. Or even try to communicate with the WvW playerbase. More than twice per year even if they don’t have a spesific team for WvW (I don’t believe it if they say they have one). And not just go: “Naah, we’re gonna put this in anyway.”

Biggest mistake Anet made was lack of communication.

I’m gonna drop this here as a… observation. For few days now I’ve been thinking about trying spvp again after a year or so since pve/wvw have become… boring. Back then it was really difficult/frustrating because of unbalanced matches, my lack of skill and mostly the good players were on the same team but it was always 5vs5. I admit I absolutely hate the amulet system because of the fixed stats. Let’s leave it at that.

I have played a little but I count myself as a noob and so I will most likely get hammered in 1vs1, I have no idea how team que is gonna work out, have no friends to play spvp with and try out a tournament? Suure. I was thinking of getting some hotjoin practice but after reading all this I’ve decided to withdraw my interest in the game mode because getting roflstomped for win in a single style game is not my fun. I can get most of those rewards from pve. WvW doesn’t seem that bad after all, even with all the little details like food/guard stacks/locations/etc. and bad update choices.

What is the purpose of this list I wonder. Anyone can add you to it and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Wether they are people you like or not I cannot figure out the purpose of it. Those that are not on my friends list I do not consider as people I want any dealings with. I do socialize through the chat whenever someone asks something or if I do need some questions answered but answering a question or two is not enough of merit for me to be friends with someone. Friendly and friends are two different things. And people that I do not like can add/are still on that list and I can see their name every day.

Currently on my list there are total of 39 people and from them there are maybe 4 online during a week of playing. I would really, really like to clear this list or remove it completely. There have been other threads about this and nothing has been done about it. To me it’s completely useless and pointless list that serves no purpose whatsoever.

So how do other people think about this? Has someone found a way to utilize this feature or perhaps found a reason for it to be there? Or perhaps if enough of you agree with me that Anet will actually notice and consider about it and do some changes or somesuch after few years…

Cheers for all the constructive responses, my thief is fairly glassy with only some 2200 armor but I’ve managed to interrupt few mantras from off-hand pistol after you suggested it so much, lucky shots I guess. And the fights have went slightly more for my favor. However so far only interrupts have been successful against that it’s definetly more difficult to deal with than what I’ve encountered so far. I still gotta figure out how to handle them with guardian but I’ll manage. Thanks.

I’ve met an increasing number of mesmers using this in WvW and I’m having issues in how to deal with it. It hits some severe damage without much indication on how/when to avoid it. It has a charging animation but after that you can blast it without any notice. I can’t find anywhere that says how long you can actually maintain the charge. And getting hit for +2300 critical aoe damage by a skill that shows little/no visual cue when it’s going off 3 times every 1-2 seconds is kinda… frustrating to deal with. Especially when it hits around your target.

My critical thief is getting decimated and I’ve yet to defeat a single mesmer after the patch. I can get maybe 1 backstab through and then end up dead. Since this has 1200 range aswell it’s effectively making ranged solution even less effective. More and more I’m seeing a group of +5 people fighting a single mesmer because any less seem to be ineffective. How are you supposed to counter this skill? I’ve used every trick I can come up with and the only solution I have left is to just run off the moment I see a mesmer. I can’t reflect, dodge, evade or block it with Smoke Screen. My ranger is also having some trouble with this if I cannot keep my distance. And as soon as my guardian runs out of blocks and heals, it’s a loss.

The issue I have is that pushing this little button targets the nearest enemy which just so happens to make a focus of walls of a tower/keep over anything and everything. And is causing me some serious trouble whenever I’m fighting near a wall. Most of the times I don’t have time to pick my target and click on it so this button is super useful. However after patch it just seems to favor walls instead enemies or even gates. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me? My request is could it be possible to remove the walls/gates/placeables from the targeting list? I mean we can’t even damage them, except for gates for miniscule damage and even then it’s quite obvious to just click on it. However an enemy, even an npc is mostly ignored now, making targetting a real pain.

My variation of longbow ranger that I was running even before the latest changes, it just became a bit more powerful and is quite similar to those above. The Omnomberry Pie gives me 348 health regardless of what the wiki says. With piercing arrows that adds up quite nicely and keeps me in good health even among big fights. Only trouble I’m having with is the cheese p/s condi hybrid engi. They just heal too much and do too much damage. With the survivals I pretty much laugh at conditions.

This is my bunker guardian that I run with at times when I want to roll around with several people or zerging. It has been working nicely as a solo but it’s problem is being very slow. With the WvW guard buffs I get lots of extra power and health. I started with exotic weapons but later got the ascended. This can take a lot of punishment but also deals enough damage that people don’t dare take my hammer to the face. Decent control and support for others. But with the changes coming soon-ish have to take another look if I have to change somethings.

EDIT: Thought I should tell this aswell, incase you didn’t know/forgot: Karma/WvW badge/cultural armors cannot be salvaged. Never put expensive runes into them or you will end up having 20+ gold sitting in your bank, just like me.

As for something to help in this it’s really good to see what you can potentially do, http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/ is really good, often up to date and as far as I know, widely used. For general stuff? Well, as basics I would aim for 3000 armor, 2000 power and some 20000 health, depending on class of course. That will actually get you quite far. Then for the fine tuning if you go for condition about 1000-1500 is often enough, same goes for healing power if you try to go for support but that’s tricky since you need to actually know what to do and just pumping healing power is not enough. Critical damage and chance % is like the more you have the better.

But you cannot have them all and you can focus for 3-4 different stats, play some more and you get the idea. The rest comes to skills and traits as to what you play. I can go for quite stupid builds at times just to see if they have any chance of working in any situation. But I often keep those basics in mind as to not going too squishy and just end up on the floor feet up. Condition/physical spike damage is atm hitting quite highly so ultimately it comes to how you move. Don’t go alone unless you are confident enough to handle 1vs2 situations.

Exotic gear as weapons/armor goes is quite fine, ascended trinkets have a great difference compared to exotics though, but even with exotic trinkets you can survive. And you can get them with some effort, fractals is a good place for rings, as for random drops if your personal level is above 10 or to buy them from the golem there. Accessories are cheapest to buy from guild commendation merchants, and if you don’t like/want/care fractals, buy amulets and rings from WvW laurel vendor. Cheaper there. For your basic exotic full gear… I’d dare to lie that the cost would be about 20-25 gold if you bought all from BLT. Or you can drop the price heavily with dungeon tokens, getting fully geared for soldiers is easiest by doing Ascalon Catacombs full run every day, 1350 for full armor and about 300 per weapon. 180 tokens per day so it takes a while but you also get gold from it so it’s the poor mans solution.

Dragon's Reach part 1: Strike's Out

In the Foefire Cleansing instance this achievement seems to fail on me. I kill the menders before they reach the room, avoid the power strike from the statue, am guessing this is the big aoe attack, and don’t leave the room. The qualify logo stays all the way to the final movie but then no reward. Granted I take a knockback from one of the flames or falling rocks but that shouldn’t affect this, right? I see the instance through and leave only after all the conversations are over. Not sure if this has happened before the last update since I’ve only started doing the achievements today, certainly didn’t find any reports. Ran this 4 times over and still nothing.

EDIT: Alright, nevermind, I should never play before getting my morning coffee, it seems I misread the description in the qualification as not letting any menders inside… shame on me.

Issues with character art, weapons, or armor?

Hey there, several charr clippings I’ve found, my engineer posing is the stocky upper body female model.

  • Vigil Honor Pauldrons(heavy), the right shoulder part is closer than the left side and while in idle movement, even slightly, it’s clipping inside your neck, both on female and male charrs first noticed on my guardian.
  • Whisper’s Secret Shoulderguards(medium), while using a shortbow on thief it does not follow the right arm movements and clips horribly while in combat stance and shooting. With dagger/sword it does follow and no clipping.
  • Now comes the interesting part: I made the Spinal Blade Pack, though it happens with all backitems and noticed that it rises up to your neck when in combat stance using a rifle, while using a pistol it does not. Since Flamethrower/Elixir Gun has the same issue perhaps it’s somehow tied to the rifle? Might be worth checking that out. EDIT: When walking with rifle in use the backitem stays where it’s supposed to but while running it’s up on your neck.
  • Then some fun stuff: Not sure if this happens with all the classes but if you have your backitem on show and are using a shield, if you use the Stow/Draw Weapons button the back item follows your shield for a second before returning to your back.
  • And last comes the Charr T2 cultural medium armor, Wrangler Coat. All of the backitems are attached to the hoodie part of the armor, while nothing serious and doubt anything can be done to it, it does make some of the back items look quite hilarious.

Most importantly I would hope that the backitem with the rifle could be solved and that it would also finally, finally make the flamer not look so bad. And that the pictures could be attached in the middle of the text… Long post, thanks for the patience.

Healing Turret overcharge

The only issue for me was that I didn’t know how to do it but it just seemed so odd how it works that I wasn’t sure wether it was a bug or not. And I still am not quite sure of it. But then again it does make sense that you can overcharge it before the normal “shooting” sequence starts and blow it up on that. You learn something new every day.

I’ve had some issues with this and never seemed to quite get how it’s done, just thought others were better at engineering than me until I saw how it’s done real close and noticed the following.

So you place the Healing Turret, immediately use the Cleansing Burst and then detonate it for the AoE healing. However if you wait for 1 second or more between placing the turret and using the Cleansing Burst, then detonate it you get no healing. I’ve noticed that if there is even 1 second delay you have to wait for the sprinkler effect before you can detonate it for the combo healing and that takes 3-4 seconds. This also happens if the turret is already placed, you have to wait for the sprinkler to appear. Now I’m not quite sure if this is a learn to play issue, a bug and which one is the bug if so, double tap or the delay. Should I make a report of this?

Dredgehaunt Cliffs/Dredge Commissar

The event chain that concerns Fridgardr Lodge don’t appear making the Commissar and the trait connected to that impossible to get. The other events seem to run normally except Fridgardr Lodge. The dredge keep spawning after the priory npc’s take control but that’s about it. This seems to happen quite frequently. Since there is a trait connected to this it should have some importance.

First of all apologies for the length of this, I simply could not find just a 10 min clip from the start.

So this is my point of view how WvW normally goes, now pay attention on all the aspects of what’s happening here. The importance of commander and his troops formation, don’t forget your food buffs, scouts to notify of enemy movements, and remember that even the strongest of zerg balls can be overcome by organized guild group. There are alot of small things that match perfectly but I’ll leave those for you to find.

And most of all, don’t forget to have fun. Enjoy.

What runes give you 45% burn/condition duration in spvp? Since you can use only one full runeset and not able to mix them anymore, yes? Giver weapons are not in spvp as far as I know. And I know Supreme Justice only affects VoJ both passive and active, but it increases duration of VoJ regardless that’s why I mentioned it. But are you saying now that it’s not bugged and my testing was accurate enough? If so can others confirm this into any direction and possibly share their methods and results? Just stating it’s bugged is not that helpful in my opinion…

Alright, thanks. And here’s what’s happening to me with PvP golems: Supreme Justice trait, Soldier amulet/Flame Legion runes, greatsword(with/without sigil). I’ll ignore the VoJ passive since it’s 1 3/4 sec. Active VoJ shows for 9 sec(tics 9 times) burning with sigil and 8 sec(tics 8 times) without. Judge’s Intervention shows for 5.5 sec with sigil(tics 5 times) and 4.5 without(tics 4 times). Purging Flames shows 9 sec with sigil(tics 9 times) and 8 sec without(tics 8 times).

Changed to Runes of Adventure but kept full Zeal trait line. Active VoJ shows for 7.5 sec(tics 7 times) burning with sigil and 6.5 sec(tics 6 times) without. Judge’s Intervention shows for 4.5 sec with sigil(tics 4 times) and 4 sec without(tics 3 times only anomaly for me). Purging Flames shows 7.5 sec(tics 7 times) and 6.5 sec without(tics 6 times).

Removed Zeal trait line and used Runes of Adventure so I only have burn duration increase from the sigil. Active VoJ shows for 6 sec(tics 6 times) burning with sigil and 5 sec(tics 5 times) without. Judge’s Intervention shows for 3.5 sec with sigil(tics 3 times) and 3 sec without(tics 3 times). Purging Flames shows 6 sec(tics 6 times) and 5 sec without(tics 5 times).

Now the same thing after removing Supreme Justice: Judge’s Intervention and Purging Flames show and do the same amounts. VoJ changes to:
Flame Legion + Sigil = 7 1/4 sec/tics 7 times), without sigil 6.5 sec(tics 6 times).
Runes of Adventure + Zeal traits + Sigil = 6 sec(tics 6 times), without 5 1/4 sec(tics 5 times).
No Zeal trait line + Runes of Adventure + Sigil = 4 3/4 sec, without 4 sec. Both tic 4 times.

What am I doing wrong here, or can you see something that I cannot? Because the only thing I see getting affected is Virtue of Justice passive which I do not consider a bug in the sigil but some funky math in VoJ. Based on my tests that 20% burn duration works perfectly and is big enough to actually affect the burning itself, that’s why I took those sigils. Also in combat my opponent is more often than not running with negative condi duration foods and potentially some Melandru runes etc. So I have to push my theoretical burn duration to around 120% to have an actual effect after all the math of + and -

This is sidetracking horribly now but I read that entire post, all five pages of it, and nowhere did I find an explanation how it is bugged. Few comments on how it doesn’t add up if used in dual weapons sword/focus for example. Also one post about the burning not showing in the tooltips of skills but the damage still ticking somewhere in there. Anyhow are you talking about +100% burn duration? Because my build is not such. Perhaps you are talking about having two of those sigil in the same weapon set? It’s been known that they do not stack, after april update it even says it in the sigils.

And I went to the pvp test golems and the sigil does exactly what it says, it increases inflicted burn duration with and without any other condition increasing equipment. I ran it as throughly as I could imagine, Sigil of Smoldering on one weapon only and switching those to see the effect. VoJ active using the orb from staff to make sure I can watch it clearly, result: I get longer duration with sigil on. Then did the same with Purging Flames, result: I get longer duration with sigil on. Then did the same with Judge’s Intervention, this is where it got a bit tricky since it triggers your passive VoJ but even when adding VoJ and removing VoJ from that, result: I get longer duration with sigil on.

How is the sigil bugged? Can you tell me how you tested it? What were the results? Do notice that I’m not trying to be aggressive here I just want to know how the sigil is bugged, that link you put only shows foofad saying it is still bugged. I however cannot find anywhere with anything that actually says how it is bugged, no evidence whatsoever. Now I can argue that the math doesn’t quite fit in for it to be exactly 20% but it could be that the durations in game only show quarters and is rounded up or down to the closest one. However the added duration is significant enough that is useful to me.

How did you test it? Care to share your testings? I really want to know what is bugged with it because as far as I can see it works for me. It increases the burn duration just fine, granted it’s really hard to see a difference between 1/4 and 1/2 seconds but when it hits full seconds to add the 20% from the sigil it indeed increases my burns. Also as I’ve stated above on the golems in the Heart of the Mists, you said I’ll get the extra second of burning even without the sigil, is not happening to me. What am I missing here?

Edit: I can’t find any info anywhere that would say it is bugged and how. All I’ve found, even through google, is that it’s bugged somehow and those were done 6-12 months ago.

Whaat? I’ve seen no hostility in here, people are way too sensitive these days… Anyhow, almost everyone I meet on the battlefield has either -36% or -40% condi duration foods, boon strippers (o.O) are mostly necros/mesmers that I’ve met, few rare sword/dagger thieves. But baseline is I’m not reluctant in running such might build, I just quite literally suck in controlling it. Also, I tried on the video capture but my fps drops into oblivion so sadly cannot provide such.

I went to the Heart of the Mists to try it on the golems there, removed all of my condition/burn increase equipment/traits and used Purging Flames since that was the only one that gave a clear difference: 5 seconds without the sigil and 6 with the sigil. And every time it ticked 5 times without and 6 times with the sigil. To me that works as intended, test it yourself maybe I missed something.

And I did not miss that part, perhaps I wasn’t clear enough in what I was trying to say: Weapon swapping is so situational and I’ve met my fair share of boon stripping thieves/necros/mesmers that I’d rather take a consistent damage through semi-passive, even if it’s bit less. Afterall burning needs duration increase or it doesn’t tick.

About videos, well, never done it, don’t have any programs and I doubt my computer can handle that, it might, it might not. So if there is someone who has visual proof or can provide such, do share. I will take a look if I can somehow…

Just did a little testing and to me the Sigil of Smoldering works as intended, can clearly see the extra second from activating VoJ and Judge’s Intervention on a random poor creature in EB. The reason why I went with flame legion runes is because the burn upkeep is surprisingly easy when you get few hits in and I really suck at boon upkeep. Especially when using Empower in small fights you really have to position yourself so you won’t get interrupted or backstabbed. Also I’ve learned to love the Hydromancy sigil: Line of Warding behind enemy —> Judge’s --> weapon swap + Whirling Wrath. Chilled and they can’t really run away from it and if they dodge more often than not they hit the Line of Warding.

Mayhab might runes would work really nice, coupled with another guardian or warrior… sure why not, greatsword autoattack has that might boon aswell. But then again, in that situation they can’t really increase my burning duration and that +7% damage to burning foes is too yummy for me to change. This build is very much self-reliant and has little to offer to allies other than damage and a boon or two. Sturdy and strong just the way I like it.

Update on this: I’ve been running around with this and have been very pleased on how it has worked out, enough so that I’ve made the ascended armor for it. With both guard stacks and bloodlust I’ve managed to keep my physical damage against highly armored around 600 and on medium armors around 1100 points, according to the combat log + the 800-900 burning damage I’ve seen ticking from my foes which is applied very easily, so I haven’t felt a need for cover conditions. Not sure if that’s good or bad but I like it.

Also noticed that backstabbing thieves I’ve encountered have been doing 4k-6k stabs. Condition bombers(read: necros) have been a sort of not sure how to deal with them since I don’t have the Absolute Resolution as a panic button. But it can be changed by taking the Radiance points off. To me this works decently in both zergs and small team/solo. The Tome of Wrath is really, really awesome and has saved me many times when I’ve noticed I’m in a tough fight.

So I’ve gotten slightly bored with my current guardian build so I decided to roll around with what Anet said about guardians giving some of the most powerful burns after patch. And this is what I came up with, theorycrafting since I haven’t been able to test it yet for because of the price rise in condition armor so I’ll have to run few dungeons runs first but wanted to share this since I couldn’t find any similar builds.

I wonder how this might work in a roaming group, but don’t think it’s that squishy while running in a zerg either. Changing the Honor points into Valor in the ascended version is something that gives more possibilities in traits, depending on what might work best with the utilities. The Judge’s Intervention is the skill slot that I change alot depending on the situation, that particular skill rarely finds itself in my utilities and is there for comparing the burns. Since the ascended items went account bound you can easily change trinkets from your alts.

A trap called “Deploy Sentry” it creates an illusionary sentry defender, flag and a circle to the ground that is as strong as the original however being an illusion it gives no credit whatsoever. That is what I want, I could effectively split a rampaging army and destroy those that actually attack when the other is standing there, confused about not having wxp credit.

Well, to me it seems that your server seems rather toxic/elitist so for that a server change might be a viable choice. There are good places and then there are bad places, to find out which might be a better place for you, start guesting to servers and ask them about wvw, since you cannot enter it while guesting. Consider carefully about your choice then, expensive as it is atm, perhaps after tournament is over. Up to you.

Then on the gaming itself, well, obviously you have to keep playing so you will learn your/enemy classes to stay alive. Defensive builds are often a good place to start when you don’t get one-shotted by the nearby ambient creature. Google up for some half-decent builds and tweak them so it suits you and is cost friendly. Then you are ready to go. Try out everything, run with commander, try to get into a small/guild group, go solo. Be offensive and defensive, what I mean is go for camps and defend towers/dolyaks. See what gives you the kicks. Improve your situational awereness, there are surprising amount of places where enemies can hide and approach you unnoticed = quick death.

You’ll soon see which commander is a good one, or a bad one, or just learning. I’ve met several new commanders since the tournament started. Also get into Teamspeak or whatever they are using, even if just to listen, it helps alot. You can do without it but in a heated combat, voice is so much better. But seriously I’d suggest you try to find a server that is more friendly.

So far I’ve managed to kill about 56 Knights, and I’ve gotten loot from them a total 9 times. I’ve also gotten 8 cores, 3 blues, 2 greens and 3 reds. I’ve been running with the big zergs, went solo, party, small groups that can still down the Knight. I’ve been melee, ranged, changed traits and skills, used foods, standing in the color pools, running around. Also I’ve done few perfect dodges and all three knights and gotten pulled on purpose. I’ve been waiting close to it so I can get the “first hit”, I’ve waited a while so I won’t get the first hit. I’ve changed overflows, I’ve been in my home server, I’ve done other events in the meantime, also outside Lion’s Arch.

As a guardian I can still deal high damage both in short bursts and cause some conditions, though limited they are. I don’t die to the knights but I’ve tried that aswell just to see if it has an effect. Nothing, total randomness and mostly I’ve gotten nothing. There is something definetly wrong in how the loot is given, it seems total random that either you get something or you get nothing. And 8 times out of the 9 I’ve gotten a core. I would very much like to know what the Devs think about this. Is the loot meant to be total random or is there a possible bug somewhere? I could understand if you got like 1 to 6 chests but either all or nothing… noot gonna believe that.

Well, I for one did enjoy the instance but mostly for the fact that there was voice acting in the conversations. But while the limitations of the player character, as mentioned before, are understandable it still gave me a slight feeling of being some random goofy eavesdropping them. While there are players who haven’t been on the past living stories I still think they should treat you like you had been in the battles somehow, or in some other way recognize the player character. If just to give the feeling of being part in the whole thing since to me it seemed rather cold that they didn’t really greet you on approach. Or then I just missed it.

Am thinking of perhaps using the non-used character personality system, the militant, charming, etc, thing here, give a few options how to approach the… whatever it is atm… militant disposition could give some sort of: Let’s gather up and plan something. Or, brute I think it’s called, could just: Let’s go for it and decide tactics later. Or something. On a side note, Rox and Braham conversation gave me an odd feeling like there’s something more, intimate, than just friendship between them… naah… that can’t be right.

Pressure support guardian

It is actually an effort to find new ways to play this class, instead of giving boons, doing raw damage or being a self-sufficient. When compared to other classes guardian has little variety while still being effective more or less I think. But you are correct about the focus mastery foofad, mostly using Shield of Wrath as a blast finisher on combo fields and as a block in smaller fights. There was also the compelling +10% condition duration. Condition build for a guardian is really doomed to failure.

And also while power and condition damage is low 15 might stacks and 25 bloodlust do lift those to an average levels. The critical damage comes from the Celestial trinkets and like I wrote there somewhere those are just my preferences, by no means did I even try to focus on critical damage. Vigor? I haven’t really needed to roll anywhere because of the blocks I carry in this. Would really hope they change how the burning is done, it’s really just a frosting on the cake when playing guardian. And I wouldn’t call 811 healing power exactly as low.

Keep an open mind would you? While pointing out the flaws is good it still offers little improvement. Am still gonna run around with this for a while since, yes, Permeating Wrath is fun.

So, hey. I haven’t found anything quite like this and while I’m having great fun with it in WvW am curious of what others think about it. Basicly the thought of an offensive support, am a team player after all, instead of the defensive support came to me while tinkering with new and weird options.

So the idea is the Permeating Wrath trait here which makes the passive VoJ go aoe on you and how to put that into decent use. Burning is a kind of so, so and tricky since it’s heavily dependant on the duration, damage ticks after 1 full second, but with Supreme Justice it procs every 3 hits, symbols/Purging Flames are also affected so mace/staff get nice there too. While passive burning doesn’t have that high scaling with condition damage it’s all about how often you can push it onto your enemies, no? Staff hits wide area and max 5 + symbol if you throw it into a group small or big and I’ve noticed everything around me is suddenly in flames.

The build-editor isn’t accurate about the passive VoJ for some reason. It starts with 1 second and can only reach 2 seconds with 100% condition duration, so the real damage is aroung ~600dmg. And since lots of people are running about with -40% condi duration this becomes an issue but I think I’ve managed to even it out. I had Defender’s Flame trait at start but am not sure if I should change Shelter for more healing from the signet, the block works nicely at times. Also the regeneration from Hold the Line/Virtue/focus/mace add up decently and it’s area effect aswell, and protection.

Why Celestial trinkets? Well, I happen to literally change my builds about every 3 weeks so it’s more cost friendly for me. Health is nothing awesome but I manage with it and armor is decent as Strength in Numbers affect you and your allies everytime you take damage, even if just falling damage. while physical damage isn’t that awesome I’ve noticed that I can put up decent pressure on enemies when I run around flailing my staff and trying to trap them with Line of Warding. I mean with all the defensive abilities you could have I’ve seen alot of 400-500 burning damage per second + what staff/mace does physical, and people start to panic/run away from me when they notice what’s going on.

I do have sword/focus aswell because of the teleport to catch those slippery thieves and warriors. Conditions are something I’ve yet to solve because Purging Flames is practically my only removal in this. Backstab thieves are not a big issue because of the amount of blocks in this and usually I can survive the initial hit to get some of them on. Do notice that this doesn’t suit for roaming in anyway, I’ve sadly been downed more than once while trying. So, what do you think? Suggestions and constructive critism is welcomed.

WvW trebuchet hitting water does no damage

So earlier during the day when we decided to go on offensive in Eternal Battlegrounds against Klovan Post we placed some catapults and arrow carts on the southern wall, there were defensive siege equipment, most importantly a trebuchet. 1 catapult and 1 arrow cart were placed on the knee-deep water and when the trebuchet started bombing us with the normal bomb nothing happened, nobody was knocked down, we took no damage, equipment took no damage when the bomb hit the water.

This happened for some +6 times, gave me enough time to concentrate on getting a screenshot, when they changed their aim to actually hit the little island behind us everything went normally, the poison cloud however did take effect in the water. Not sure if this was a one time thing and am fairly certain it’s not that easy to replicate.
