If Ezal the Quick is alive during the “free the soldiers trapped by spiders” event in Wynchona Woods in Harathi Hinterlands, he and his crew will kill one of the seraphs that are trapped right near where he spawns if you try to rescue them. The killed seraph then doesn’t count as rescued, and the event bugs at 6/7 indefinitely on that map. This prevents the spawning of Gargantula, which prevents the completion of several legendary collections.
They could offer me a free Legendary of my choice, but it will not entice me to ever purchase early again. They simply are incapable of delivering on their word.
I would also like a free legendary of my choice. Please send me The Juggernaut.
Thanks for the kind words everyone
I’ll get back to you on the timer question as I didn’t pay attention. We have several videos but we haven’t posted them yet. We don’t want to spoil everything for everyone right away.
The group I was with completed the 2nd boss, I was not with them. I had to leave for a while. 3rd boss not yet.
You’re wrong. None of us beta tested or were leaked any information about the encounters.
Yes! A blast! Unfortunately I have log off, but they’re still at the 2nd boss now
At just before 3:00 pm EST, ROID put the Slothasaur back to sleep.
That’s a good idea, thanks
This was immediately after the first fight was lost, their team had around 60 points. And i’m not completely sure he even participated in the first fight
Some of my matches I see the most outrageous offenders. In my most recent game, after losing the first push on mid (thanks to a 3v4 because someone didn’t leave the starting area which also seems to happen over 50% of my games), one of my teammates was MORE than obvious about throwing the match. Running into the fight and using emotes instead of attacking, and deliberately getting himself killed to feed more points.
What category do I report them under? Does anet even give a kitten about this behavior?
This isn’t a bug. You finished gaining the experience required to complete that mastery point. Now you need to go into your hero panel, go to the bottom tab “Masteries” and spend a mastery point to unlock that mastery. When you do that, it will allow you to train a new mastery.
The new legendary weapons aren’t available yet. You can train the mastery, but you can’t start the collections.
From my own experience with salvaging:
Ascended rings will NEVER give you balls of dark energy. It says so right on the salvage kit.
Ascended accessories and amulets MAY give you balls of dark energy. After salvaging three ascended accessories, I got one ball of dark energy.
I am under the impression that weapons and armor give you a much higher chance of getting balls of dark energy than non-ring trinkets, but I have yet to salvage weapons/armor.

There was an official announcement of new legendaries on day 1, when Heart of Thorns was announced
Haha. I can’t bring myself to do it. I know I’ll end up with a precursor first try if I do.
Why so much negativity? It’s just a bit of harmless fun. Everybody knows it will be reverted. Nobody is trying to abuse anything.
Haha ^ thanks for sharing.
And if there really is an increased chance of beta dropping precursors, that’s a top tier level of trolling right there lol
I noticed that all the exotics you get from the revenant’s bags are forgeable. I threw a few exotic rings in and got a level 79 carrion ring.
I was tempted to throw some of the exotic weapons they hand you in and try to get a precursor for kittens and giggles, but I think I would die of sorrow if I actually got one since everything gets deleted afterwards.
Anybody masochistic enough to try?
You can get Carrion accessories from completing the Citadel of Flame and Sorrow’s Embrace collections, but none of the other jewelry has those stats.
Transmutation Questions regarding beta/HoT.

1. If I use transmutation charges on my beta character, will they disappear from my regular account? It says no progress will be saved.
2. Are Revenants going to be forced to wear blindfolds? As of now it is possible to transmute any heavy helmet skin I have unlocked on them. I have reading glasses on mine, which is basically the opposite of a blindfold.
Honestly I think you’re assuming malicious intent when chances are most of the time they aren’t. When someone drops a merchant by the forge or the bank, it’s probably because they need to keep going back and forth between the merchant and bank/forge. I’ve dropped trading post spawns by the forge and by crafting tables several times for convenience. After all, that’s what they’re for- convenience.
On the other hand, when someone places a box of fun on top of something in that fashion, it is deliberately to troll.
Either way, this is in no way shape or form a reportable offense.
If there is any chance of it happening, then it has and someone’s gotten one. There’s enough people in this game that whatever mathematical chance there is of getting one, it’s happened for someone. My instinct tells me that it’s not possible, but just I’m curious if anyone can prove me wrong.
And Khrysaor, the Golden Sword, Tsunami, and Naegling are examples of troll-cursors. They have the same skins as Dawn, Storm, and Dusk respectively.
The 14th day, Chest of Exotic equipment, can drop named exotics, so I was just curious, is it possible for them to drop precursors? They are account bound, so I would assume precursors aren’t on the list, but can someone confirm or deny this? I got a troll-cursor already.

Just as the title says. This would be a much better way of rewarding devoted players with beta keys instead of giving it by sheer luck.
Tried again with a friend this time. Died once on the spike traps. Completed spike traps. Teleported to the Kohler waypoint, killed all the mobs on the way to the hall of champions… and bugged. AGAIN. Seriously what the kitten? What am I doing wrong????
This is one way to avoid the extremely tedious task of pinging your banner.
I really wanted to join with 3 other warriors and drop FIVE banners of discipline.
Once it’s bugged, is it impossible to unbug it? I killed Kohler, killed everything in between Kohler and the Hall of Champions while Detha was dead, rezzed her and walked very carefully into the room without triggering any combat and still no luck.
Decided to give it another go at soloing AC path 2. Last time I attempted it I got up to the hall of champions and it bugged. This was before the July 2014 patch that supposedly fixed it. But the same thing happened again to me this time.
Has anybody figured out WHY she bugs? Is it due to failure of certain events? I died multiple times on the spike traps before I was able to complete it. Or is it because I didn’t kill Kohler?
And is there any way to unbug her after she doesn’t trigger the event? I tried the old method of getting her killed and reviving her, that didn’t work.
Really disappointed here. This bug has been present for over two years and still hasn’t been fixed. That’s unacceptable.
Liadri is NOT easy. The people who are saying that she’s easy are gloating too much about their abilities. She requires precise play for over a minute without making a single mistake. The ability to do that repeatedly shows high player skill, not ease of encounter.
However, she DOES NOT NEED TO BE NERFED. Anet made it clear that Queen’s Gauntlet was designed to be challenging, frustrating, and rage-inducing. It was designed specifically so not everybody could beat her. They also said that certain encounters were easier on certain classes and builds. So try different weapons, try a different build, or try a different class. I wasn’t able to beat her last year. I gave up because I couldn’t handle the rage anymore. This year I decided to give it a try again, I have much more skill than I did last year, and it still was unforgiving. One mistake and you have to start over.
But that’s what video games used to be like. NES was even MORE unforgiving. If you died too many times you had to play the whole game over. It’s this new generation of games that holds your hand held and cradles your balls the entire time you’re playing that encourages the attitude that anything that can’t IMMEDIATELY be beaten should be nerfed.
kittenmit us hardcore players barely have anything in this game specifically designed for us, everything is being infected by the casual bug. Don’t take this away from us too.
I was shocked how easy warriors can take her out
But were you REALLY shocked by this fact? Warriors are the best class for just about everything in this game, so why not Gauntlet?
Inspecting gear is a part of games, not just Guild Wars. In Diablo 3, It has an option called “Inspect Gear” which you can see other peoples items, every last detail, and guess how many people used that on everyone who came in the run? Alot.
In GW2, Even if 25% of the population asks to show gear/ping, its not nearly as hostile as some MMO’s or games, because like I said, in D3, nearly 75% of games would gear check you, thats what I call hostile.
GW2 is the farthest thing from that
Not only is the option to inspect gear in the game, your gear is public on your forum profile. Try posting on the D3 forums and getting responses like “Yeah well you run (insert item name or SKILL bar here) so your opinion isn’t valid because you’re trash.”
Welcome to the internet. There are plenty of great people to be found here, but among the masses are the lowest of the low in lowlives. And verbal abuse is the tip of the iceberg. You have hackers, sexual predators, identity thiefs, etc. No matter what internet community you join, you’re going to find people like that. And unfortunately there’s no way to completely get rid of them, you just have to deal with it.
I’ll definitely give that a try, thanks!
I found that fight to be hilarious. The way he baseball bats the players halfway across the arena like he just doesn’t care actually made me laugh when I was fighting him. In my opinion, the boss fight was a lot more memorable than the path, which was long and tedious.
How did you do the traps with the champion breeder alone? was it easy, i’ve never tried
This was extremely entertaining and challenging actually. The trick is to let Detha handle the trash mobs with her bombs (she gets three) and to use the middle spikes to kill the champion breeder. I rooted the champ breeder with Pin Down, and also triggered its baby spawning ability while it was standing where the spikes are, and then repeatedly pulled the spikes. I also used Hounds of Balthazar to keep it distracted.
Sadly, I wasn’t legitimately successful. I managed to bring the champion breeder down to 10% HP left when I failed on my best attempt. After around 6 or 7 attempts the champion breeder glitched and didn’t disappear when I wiped that time. When I came back, I cleared so I could try again, and Detha was like “All right, we did it!”
I realized later that Throw Bolas was what I was missing to get that last bit of damage down. I’m definitely going to attempt to beat this legimate. But AC p2 is such a mess right now with bugs I want to wait until it’s fixed so I can beat the whole dungeon.
I think I’m more interested in completing multiple different dungeons for now rather than repeating one I’ve completed and doing it faster. Right now the part I’m enjoying the most about this is the newness of the experience- I’ve done these dungeons so many times with a group that it’s gotten to the point where I’m just going through the motions to get the reward. When you don’t have a party to fall back on all of a sudden EVERYTHING you do matters. The bosses’ patterns are crucial, and figuring out how to avoid every attack is a challenge and you have to really be paying attention and invested in every move you make. It’s fresh and exciting and I’m really enjoying it, and I want more.
So far I’ve completed 2 and 1/2 dungeon paths by myself:
AC path 2 up to when Detha glitches
Sorrow’s Embrace p1
Caudecus Manor p3
I’m interested in seeing what else I can accomplish.
What dungeons are physically possible to solo without exploits? I know there’s a few that absolutely require additional people, such as CoF 1, 3 and Arah 1. That might help me decide what’s next- right now I’m thinking TA up might be my next target.
Oh, and I watched that video DonQuack and I’m very impressed by the talent- but I am nowhere near that level. My dungeon solos are a disaster of mistakes and deaths
About 3 hours, but that’s including a few breaks I took in between. I didn’t keep track of how much time I was afk, but I’d say ballpark 30-45 minutes so the total run took me 2-2.5 hours.
(edited by AtriustheGod.6785)
Sorry for the necropost, but this is the original topic I started for my dungeon soloing endeavors. I took a break from dungeon soloing for a while to farm skins for the new patch, but now that that’s over I’m trying to get back into it.
Today I successfully soloed CM p3.
The last time I tried it, I was absolutely destroyed by Sure Shot Seamus and I gave up. Today I persevered. Getting down the ads was the hardest part of the fight, I ended up switching to zerker traits, going 4 stances and powering down one at a time during my invulnerability. This was messy, and took a lot of tries, but I got it done. Once the ads were down, Sure Shot went smoothly. I figured out that his attacks can be dodged very easily by continually circling around him, and I had Balanced Stance + Dolyak Signet to save me in case I messed up.
Wahlen wasn’t as difficult as I expected him to be. I died on him once before I figured out his pattern, but then I changed my spec back to regen banners, and I learned how to dodge the majority of his attacks, enough to heal through any of the mistakes I made.
Vallog was extremely easy, I used axe/warhorn and converted conditions to boons with my warhorn. This turned burning into aegis, which then blocked the next burning attempt. Between this and my vigor fortified dodges, I was able to heal more damage than I was ever taking. The riflemen before him were much more difficult than he was, and I had to use 4 stances and sweet revenge to take them down. (The first rifleman died as I did, unfortunately, and I had to run ALL the way back.)
I’ve noticed that this new patch greatly improves the quality of life of dungeon soloing. The ability to change traits on the fly, as well as free repairs (especially for a beginner like myself who dies frequently). Also, I finally started carrying additional weapons to swap between. I don’t know why I never did this in the past, it feels so good to have a weapon for each situation! I currently carry 2 Swords, Warhorn, Mace, Axe, Greatsword, and Longbow. I’m thinking of picking up a 2nd axe as well.
The bag space doesn’t bother me that much, it’s only the matter of 1-4 extra items in your inventory, it just seems really silly. The fact that everything is becoming more user friendly and convenient just makes this so much more in the opposite direction by comparison.

“Your equipped weapons will be the same between PvP and PvE as part of keeping your looks consistent across game modes.”
This bothers me quite a bit. All my PvP characters use completely different weapon sets in PvE. Am I really going to have to carry around a bunch of extra weapons and swap every time I want to PvP? That seems less convenient than the current system.

What you’re experiencing is what I would call the “meta trickledown effect” This happens in just about every multiplayer online game with any level of depth.
1. The pros of the game analyze everything, do math, and figure out the effectiveness of a particular strategy.
2. The people who pay attention to the pros realize the genius of the idea and adopt it. These people have enough skill and understanding of the game to make it work.
3. Those people are seen using it, so more people assume that’s what you’re supposed to do and start trying it.
4. Eventually it’s considered “just what you’re supposed to do” and people without the understanding why or the skill to back it up still attempt to utilize it and fail miserably.
5. Other people enter in on these failed attempts and can’t understand why it’s considered the “best strategy”
Personally, I feel that newcomers to dungeons need to discover for themselves why berserker gear, LoSing and stacking are effective. I know I had to discover just how drastic the number difference was (500% or more overall DPS between Berserker and Sentinel), not to mention I had to develop the skill to dodge all the attacks with less HP and toughness. It requires a level of skill, and newcomers just don’t have that level of skill and shouldn’t attempt it until they are extremely familiar with the game’s mechanics.

I know right? It’s such a good spice IRL.
OP- I think one of the major things you are missing with your valuing of items is the ability to convert one item into another, often into top-tier late game items. This directly influences the values of even the simplest seeming items.
For example: The shredded rag can be salvaged into 1-3 jute scraps. Jute scrap can be converted into Wool Scraps, and Wool Scraps are needed to create Bolt of Damask. Bolts of Damask are needed to create Ascended Armor, the highest tier of level 80 armor. So your basic Jute Scraps are usable toward the best armor in the game.
On the other hand, Cinnamon sticks are used exclusively for cooking, and pretty much only in early recipes. Once you surpass that level of cooking, your need for cinnamon as a player disappears forever. They have almost no value because they have no late-game use.
As far as I know, those trinket recipes drop out of the dungeon chests that spawn on the ground after completion of certain areas. From what I’ve heard, however, those recipes are as rare if not rarer than precursors. I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for one to drop. If you really want that item, I would suggest just buying it on the TP.
That being said, I would consider it much easier to just get an ascended amulet and be done with it.
Call in sick or go in to work late and get it done right now! You gotta have the right priorities man!!
Unless the achievement you need is six minutes to knightfall- that’s probably not gonna happen.

Also, there’s the fact that we’re reliving the same time period over and over and over again by continually fighting and killing Scarlet.
*spoiler* the TRUE culprit behind Scarlet
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath

I wasn’t sure what Scarlet’s motivation was for all her evil, and because we killed her, she can’t tell us anymore.
But then I saw what she was wearing on the night we killed her, and I figured out who was REALLY behind her schemes.
It’s all very clear to me now.
Spoiler tags please. I would suggest changing the title to not mention Scarlet’s “departure” as well
It’s too bad they didn’t have a Warrior in their DE2.0 party. The warrior could have just told Braham to “Shake it off!” and his broken leg would be cured.
Personally my priority of changes to fractals is the following:
1. Fix the bugs and balancing issues in the already existing fractals, and rework Dredge. Currently, a lot of what is there is not 100%, and this takes away from the overall experience of the dungeon. I believe dredge is the biggest issue and deserves #1 priority, because of how the entire fractal is a source of dread and suffering in high reward levels, and the time it takes to complete compared to every other fractal is staggering. There’s a difference between “challenging” and “painful,” and dredge is just painful and not fun at all.
2. Rewards. The replayability of fractals gets dampened when doing them repeatedly doesn’t provide anything. The ascended rings and backpiece are nice (much easier to obtain here than anywhere else), and were the initial reward pull of fractals in general. (for me at least) However, these rewards are long since obsolete by the time you reach level 30 in reward level, and there are still 20 more levels of difficulty which are supposed to be the “elite levels” with the instabilities and everything. The potential for ascended weapons and armor is nice, but unless someone is extremely lucky, it’s much more reliable to just craft them, because 100 fails at rolling a weapon/armor box makes you no closer to getting them than the day you started.
3. New fractals. New content is the best. I loved the new fractals, variety is great. The only reason this isn’t priority 1 is because I believe everything that’s existing should be perfected first before new fractals are added because those new fractals will have their own bugs, and the old bugs will be buried under new bugs and can be forgotten about. (I’m speaking from my own experience as a game designer here, it’s so easy to lose track)
