I love all the trolls on this forum, ha. I supposed I should of figured this would eventually happen, I mean when I was active I was playing during the first 3 months of release and never had these issues, but now it’s like 6 or so months later and here we are with no one to party up with in low levels or just have that fun from slaying giant beast that randomly spawned during events.
We can let this thread die now.
Thank you SHM for the straight answer, I did see something about free transfers to the medium populated servers maybe their more active per say?
Lol, good answer why don’t you leave something of use instead of being a troll.
Lol, mad someone trolled a troll thread. Good one.
LMFAO, if you actually took the time to read the kittening thread you would realize I’m being serious and not trolling, read before you post.
I’m on one of the lowest population servers and there are people everywhere in the starting zones.
Search the forums before bumping your own thread
Oh and…
Guesting, try it out
Already searched no definitive answers found, but what server is it you play on? I’m guessing switching to one of the HIGHER Populated servers wasn’t such a good idea considering it cost me 47G for the 1800 gems required to transfer.
Stilgar xD
But it’s opened in Maguuma
I’m simply asking for a server that is active in PVe, meaning 1-80 areas all ways has people there…
P.S I came back like a week ago before this event started
No it is empty, I don’t care about the dungeon I just did it got to the frog and then the leader of the party ended it lol.
I want a server that’s actually active.
I can’t even use my low level characters EVEN when events aren’t going on cause there is no one in that area.
I just came back and I’m sad to see no one in starting zones anymore as I re-rolled a new character so I could get back into the game.
I’m currently on Maguuma and I was on Darkhaven before using some gold to Transfer to what I thought was a more populated server.
Anyone know which servers are actually populated? Kinda sucks not being able to do group events and such since no one is in these areas anymore, :’(.

Ahh good good, patience is the virtue I guess and I had none, back to my main I go.
Going to try loading into my alts and see if it is just cursed shore thats not loading for me will leave an edit below!
EDIT: Alt loads just fine dangit -.-
same, stuck on loading screen for cursed shore, maguuma
Same place xD
First time this game has given me any trouble at all, I’m hoping it’s not because during the update process it kept disconnecting/reconnected to update, lol.
Same problem here, o.o
Feels higher tonight and then a new update just came out as I was getting great loot, wonder what this patch does o.0
About a 100mb update
That’s why I waited until I was 80 and had good gear i didnt need to swap :P
You don’t its for PVE gear only. The guys who have the gem store gear in pvp is actual PVP skins you can unlock by gaining glory and buying reward chest.
Some guy sent me a level 80 spear on accident the first day of offical launch lmfao, I was nice enough to send it back though I didn’t have too, so ya your pretty much SOL
Each order has their own gear sets, what type of character are you, seeing as I’m a warrior I went with Vigil, priory is magical users, and whisphers is stealthy
It is not :<, we do need this though as everyday for the past week I have logged in just to have new mail from gold sellers…
It’s only usable once seeing as I just bought primeval skin from the gem store today after hitting level 80.
You can keep transmuting the skin from armor to armor though as long as you have Transmutation Stones. 80+ armor requires Fine Transmutation Stones though.
I’m running Dual CrossFire 1GB ATI® Radeon HD 5870 graphics cards, but I’m not all that knowledgeable with computers so not sure what values I should be adding.
How do I find out?
The game runs just fine but I thought I’d give this a try to see if it improves at all.
Many thanks in advance
Run GPU-Z to find what your values are on the core clock/memory and voltage, then follow the article on how to make and find the preset(profile), but as your crossfire you will need to input the settings twice instead of once but its not a biggy cause in the article the guy is also using crossfire.
and please other people reading this post be sure to scroll up for important info you may of missed, this isn’t one of them threads you can skim over, well you can but your going to be asking the same question as others since you can’t take the time to read post.

I have tried what it says in the guide but mine looks completely different i am using a laptop and my graphics cards are Amd Radeon HD 6620G + HD 7450M Dual graphics. I have copied what was in my “appdata- Local- ATI- ACE- Profile” and this is what i get.
Looking at your profile I don’t see it being possible on a mobile chipset, sorry to say :<.
You could always download MSI Afterburner or Sapphire Trixx and set it up that way, though powerplay doesn’t always change to 3D clocks when playing GW2 and that’s the whole reason to do this.
I would highly recommend not overclocking at all on a laptop, you can do it but expect to overheat.
Ok guys sorry I haven’t kept up with the thread after all I thought it got buried again. Let me give you a run down of what this does.
Once you have your preset(profile) setup what you want to do is make another preset and name it default or whatever you would like. Then copy the default profile that AMD has made just like in the step where you where copying it to be edited but this time your not going to edit it, that way whenever your done gaming you can go ahead and re-enable powerplay which downclocks your card way down while idileing and doing nothing else.
THIS DOES NOT OVERCLOCK YOUR CARD, it simply gets rid of stupid powerplay…
For anyone wondering my card is the Sapphire 6870, that I’ve overclocked, but I also run a custom fan profile using Sapphire Trixx (It works on mostly all AMD cards, doesn’t have to be a sapphire one), I wasn’t thinking that would be a cause for overheating in other 6870s seeing as mine is still on it’s reference cooler and just running a custom fan profile cause the AUTO mode sucks. But seeing as how that happens to the guy running the XFX one I would recommend downloading a nice OC tool such as MSI Afterburner or Sapphire Trixx if your new to it since Trixx UI is pretty straight forward and easy to use, to setup a custom fan profile.
Hope this helps some, if you need anymore help such as what to set your values to I can help I just need to know before hand what your Core Clock, Memory Clock, and voltage is running at so I can set the values accordingly. To get your values run GPU-Z and check my screenshot on where the values are located, thanks!

Had to log in just to say thank you! Bumped me from 25-50 fps in sparkfly when I logged off this morning to 40-75ish even with catalyst AI disabled to stop flickering.
Pretty pumped
No problem man glad I could help
I use sapphire trixx for my custom fan settings, :P, should of mentioned that I guess haha
Also the bios have been flashed to the XFX Black Edition 6870 from my sapphire card, gotta love bios flashing, but that’s a whole different beast
BUMP for people who didn’t see this post, would be a great thing to get stickied like that NVIDIA post :P
AC is the hardest dungeon the other ones are easy in comparison
I liked how the keys used to drop randomly in loot from the beta weekends but seeing as I haven’t got a single KEY drop in full release makes me think they removed it from the loot table
If a thief teleports one time while I’m about to down him I just say screw it and keep wailing on him till their dead.
Awesome thanks man working wonder for me 7870 2gb.
Quick question though when im done gaming how do I return it back to normal do i need to create another profile… thanks again
Yep just make another preset and copy the original non-edited version onto that one instead, same method as before of course but without editing
The above method also works, but seeing as AB hates me and doesn’t let me adjust my voltage on my card it’s no use to me lol
No problem, if it helps you please feel free to leave a follow up response. Time for bed now though stayed up all night trying to figure this out, lol.
Thought I should share this with you guys as it has helped me. It seems as if powerplay and GW2 doesn’t get along very well and your GPU clocks get stuck at 2D clocks instead of running in 3D mode. Follow this helpful guide as I did and you should be seeing major FPS improvement.
I followed the above guide exactly as detail but instead of just changing the state of 1 clock I went ahead and completely got rid of powerplay cause in all reality it sucks anyways.
I’ll include screenshots of my preset (NOTE: Don’t use my settings unless you have an AMD Radeon HD 6870), as well as screenshots from in-game showing my FPS.
All the FPS shown rarely drop and its smooth as butter,. Enjoy and happy gaming until a better fix comes around.
System Specs:
OCZ Vertex 3 SSD
HD 6870 1GB
8GB DDR3 RAM
Intel Core 2 Quad 9500 2.83Ghz O/C to 3.4 Ghz (meh)

Thats hilarious that it actually works lmfao. All this low fps was due to just the game not being able to switch to 3D mode from 2D mode, talk about happy gaming now at 125-150
FPS
Not really an issue, but seeing as there is no forum for requesting/asking about future features, could we please get guild alliances at some point? It was a great thing in GW and I’m surprised it didn’t make it on GW2
Wrong some motherboards with SLI/Xfire defualt the other PCIe x16 slots to x1-x4 speeds….
Yep def a x1 bug in some motherboards, sad thing is you could of been missing out on quality gaming and upgrading GPU’s for no reason if this x1 error occurred :P
I ran GPU-Z in the background while playing some GW2 and found some interesting stuff.
It shows that it does actually go up to 99% GPU Load thing is it’s only using a max of 322MB of the 1024MB it has dedicated, this might be where the poor performance is coming from since it’s not using all the video ram it could be. Hopefully ANET see’s this post and reads the log and also see’s it as the possible issue.
NOTE: My GPU is in the x16 interface and is running at x16
also you’ll have to save the attachment to be able to read it correctly as it looses its formatting on the web browser for some reason -.-

Sounds like a x1 bug on your pcie slot, happened to have another PCIe slot you could test? If not go into your motherboard bios options and see if there is an option for PCI Express Frequency and set it manually too 100-115, if that doesn’t work overclock your CPU by just 1mhz
Info from: http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=522
I run a Crossfire setup and I get 60 frames per second in some areas, but the only way I can keep a consistent framerate is if I lock it at 30; it fluctuates too much. Sometimes, that lock at 30 will sustain at 25 and not at the 30 it’s locked to.
If I run a dungeon, my framerate will fluctuate so horribly that it’s nearly unplayable, even if I turn the graphics all the way down.
I’ve disabled Crossfire and the game runs quite smoothly now, but not perfect; I’m still locked at 30 frames per second, but it’s staying very stable at that framerate. The drop and sustain at 25 frames per second still happens sometimes, though.
I ran a dungeon running on just one card and there were no drops in the framerate at all. Stayed at 30 through the entire thing, and I had a blast.
I’m running with everything on High right now. I have yet to try the Ultra settings on just one card. Supersampling on the one card does cause some lag, but that is understandable with just 1 gig to work with.
Overall, things are just far more stable running on one card in my case. Hopefully this rant helps a little.
—Specs/Drivers—
Driver Version: Catalyst/Crossfire 8.982.0.0
GPUs: Dual ATI Radeon HD 5870s in Crossfire (running at factory settings; no overclock)
Processor: Intel i7 Extreme X980 3.33GHz six-core
RAM: 12 gigs of standard RAM; I’m unsure of the exact speed.
—Clarity Edit—
When I say “lag” in this post I mean drops in framerate, not Internet-based latency.
You might want to grab the newley released AMD Application Profile that got released today supposedly helps my friend out tremendously who also has crossfire, you should be able to re-enable it now
The Norn character portrait is messed up here is a screenshot
Hope the screenshot is showing up :S

They’re soulbound because people where using all of them up but 1 and selling them at the same buying price.
Same here, thought my fire alarm was telling me the battery was going dead, lol.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.83Ghz
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 6870 1GB DDR5
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1066 Dual-channel
MB: Biostar G41D3C+
AMD drivers used: 12.8, then 12.8 with 7900 mod but no performance difference :<
In-Game settings: Everything Maxed out on 720p: 12-72 FPS, it’s never constant and when in big group I drop all the way down to 5 fps, completely ruined my Shatterer experience it was lagging so bad and thats after changing my settings to the bare minimum…
Please get this game more optimized for our GPUs and CPU’s as I’m not even experiencing my cores going past 68% load and much lower load on my GPU.
Other Games FPS:
Skyrim Maxed out: 72-140
BF3 Ultra 64 Man server: Constant 50fps
Mostly every game I’ve played on this rig has more than enough FPS to keep the gameplay smooth and satisfying
