Hello all, I am currently looking for another place to call home on the Maguuma server. The guild I am currently in has been a fantastic place to play, however the last 3 or 4 weeks there just hasnt been anyone on at nights (2 or 3 at most). I am looking to see if anyone else could possibly accept me into thier guild.
I am in my mid 30s and drama free and would prefer a guild that is likewise. I am majorily PvE with alittle Spvp. I am looking for a middle sized guild that uses vent often for runs and just casually horsing around. I most enjoy dungeon runs in this game so one that focuses on them would be helpfull.

Are you currently having fun ingame? Because as far as I have seen not a single thing that is ingame now is going away. So just keep doing what your doing and ignore the new stuff its that simple.
I really dont get all the negative at all. Trust me I understand not liking the gear treadmill, but no one is forcing you to do it either. Just continue to do exactly what you were doing 2 weeks ago for the next 2 or so years it will all still be there.
Yeah this is definately a known problem. I for one run around with the speed buff, but I try to be very aware of others and if I see someone I stop and kill all that is following me.
I am sorry this has been an issue for you, but as long as people never have real life punishment for acting like idiots online these things will never stop.
TBH because of all the hate that has been generated even before we know for sure what is going to happen I am all for the ascended gear. I am just upset to see so many go against Anet without 100% proof of whats happening.

Yeah the thing I dont understand about this is when another mmo player complains about “no endgame” they are flamed and told thats not what gw is about. They say endgame is about exploring, crafting, blah blah blah. So my question is then why do you care about this gear change? All your exploring is still there. Crafting isnt changing. Map completion wont include this dungeon. No one can inspect you to see you dont have ascended gear.

There is a glaring problem: the game was always advertised as one without gear treadmill, but just 2 months after release, gear grind is introduced.
A lot of people playing GW2 chose the game because it promised no such treadmil and experience different from other MMOs.If we wanted to play game with gear treadmil, we would play one of tons of games on the market, many of which do it better and have f.e. better support, in-game support, account restoration, re-imburesement in case of bugs etc.
I dont understand this statement. So your saying the ONLY reason to play GW2 is the no gear progression? What if someone loves the combat of gw2 over WoW but also wants gear progression? For the record I am not infavor of one way or the other I just dont care for this statement.
My thoughts:
Alot of people, myself included, came to GW2 for a casual experience. WoW was like another job for me and about cost me my marriage. However alot of those same people got to max level and missed thier carrot on a stick. For everyone of the people here complaining about gear treadmill there is 2 people that left because of boredom. Anet is trying to bandage that wound imo.
To be clear I am not one of them. I love this game and will continue to love it no matter what comes of this ascended gear.
I have no problems with another tier level as long as its as easy to obtain as the exotics are now. The people saying go back to WoW are just idiots also, sorry but its true. In WoW without the highest tier you are at a big dissadvantage in high in raids. In GW2 its not like that, someone in all yellows can easily do just as good as exotics.
@Azmodeus, obviously everyone has different opinons but I couldnt disagree more. I think the dps margin between glass canon and tanky build is not near enough to risk quick deaths. I run full tank (shouts heal, 3 shouts, etc) and I dont know how many times in pugs I have held the line while all 4 others have run back on boss fights so he doesnt reset.
@Nightstorm my best suggestion to you would be to take up the hammer asap if tank is what you want to be. The control it offers is a must. You can kite like a master with this build and earthshaker.
Also I dont believe guardians do it any better. If you practice the warrior tank you will as good as any class out there.
I am not experienced with linking builds so i cant help there. I run 0-20-20-30-0 with vigourous shouts and 3 shout utlilities. I use hammer/rifle in PvE, Dungeons. Hammer/longbow in WvWvW. I use all Power/toughness/vitality gear w Soilder runes.
I have yet to find anything better for overall gameplay. Yes there is better dps and such, but I find dps overrated in this game. When your on your back not only are you not doing any dps niether is the guy rezzing you.
Also I do switch out the hammer for sword/horn in circumstances and switch the major traits, but leave the 0-20-20-30-0 overall.
Dungeon difficulty is fine. Needing organized exp groups is fine. This is the endgame after all people. You need to look at these as raids in other games. You didnt just grab a pug and burn through those 2 months after they were out. I have successfully pugged every exp path outside of Arah (which agreed is a pain). Was I lucky? yeah some, but It gets done in the end.
I am also a casual, my wife and I play 2 to 3 days a week for maybe 2 hours a sitting. Just keep at it and the reward for getting them done is that much sweeter.
Can it be done? yes. Will you have a huge huge repair bill? definately. Do I suggest this? Absolutely not.
do not compare them to the MK run. They are completely different.

I guess I should add that for WvW I do change things up some. I change some traits to the longbow damage and range ones. I remove on my mark and for great justice and add Bulls charge and throw bollas, but these would depend on what ways you play WvW (roamer, defender, solo, etc) I still use hammer/rifle but switch to bow on wall defense.
I highly highly prefer shouts, banners take too long when your taking suprise damage.
Hey Amirio, I use a hammer/rifle build for PvE/WvW and it works just fine. All melee is tough in WvW though. The gear you want is Power/Toughness/Vitality, most easily gotten from AC exp mode tokens. Accessories you can go that route also or addd alittle crit/ precision.
I dont have a build to link atm, sorry. I run a shouts heal build. 0/20/20/30/0. utilities I use 3 shouts, shake it off, on my mark, for great justice. This will definately make you pretty tanky and handle the punishment.

heres for the ghosts books thingy part. As far as the LA DE I thought I understood it to be an ongoing thing throughtout all 4 acts? In other words theres no way to complete it as of now.
I by no means will say how much you suck, but what about the people who do like it the way it is? Maybe I wouldnt like it the way you would. To expect everyone to like exactly the same thing is just plain crazy. You do have all the right in the world to come here and express your dislikes without being flamed though.

Will you still be doing them? Are they exciting and fun enough to continue to do even without a thing to spend your tokens on? I worry about new players 6 months from now trying to get runs.
I personally will always be ready to help guildies with them, but I am not to sure I will still be pugging at the rate I am now.

Yes, you would have to move again, but I think you would find it worth it. We have recently added about 5 more ppl from these forums and are running dungeons nightly.
Always always 5 or 6 on at est, which might not sound like alot but thats ALWAYS, then we usually spike 10 to 15 during your play time.
You seem like you have certain critieria you want in a guild, so let me say what I would expect of you then as a member.
Be active on the forums. Be social in gchat. yeah tough rules I know.
I had a similiar thing happen to me on my ranger. I blew my quickness utility, burned him down instantly then staked him while still under quickness. He accused me of hacking because he hadnt seen a quickness staking.

What do you mean you only die 1-3 times? The object is to die none which the groups I have been in have done on numerous occassions. if you are satisfied with 3 deaths you are doing it wrong.

We use vent alot but not required. Running dungeons regularly atm, and always willing to help ppl lvl also.
I do not have alot of WvWvW exp to offer, however I can tell you I run pow/tough/Vit in Dungeons with shouts heal and 3 shout utilites and I feel like quite the tank and dont go down very often.

I run shouts heal build and imo the hammer or mace is a must. Your taking healing shouts to be supportive so you might as well be support/control. You lose too much dps with sword or axe by not going deep in the arms line.

Our members are all seasoned players that raided in other mmos so dungeon runs are enjoyable. We have strong pvpers also and once a week we like to get together and go do some spvp sometimes just take a whole server and fight each other for fun. Once a month we have a planned guild event that a prize is awarded. The use of our website is where you can keep track of events.
