Out of curiosity, what do you guys propose as an alternative?
I’m sure the immediate reaction is to have agony do a static amount of damage, but the problem with that is it disproportionately harms those with low HP.
And what is wrong with that? As opposite as harming those with high HP? Everywhere else, if you got hit with 5k damage and have only 4k life you are dead. And the one with 20k life would just laugh and heal himself.
But is there any preferred weapon set that would make the start easier? I’ll hit 80 shortly with my Elementalist and could choose any weapon I like.
No, it wont reset. It will get harder and harder to find groups. You need to grind, grind, grind and grind again to be there or you will fall behind.
(I belive no one in the right mind will play the dugeons with his alt and start at 1, if he has already earned the difficult with his main)

Yeah no more “I’m a high level player. Stand behind me, while I solo the dungeon. This way you get the fastest your loot.”
Sorry, but is there an easy way into the attuments? Like if you see an enemy use water skill 3 than 5 to protect yourself, than earth 2 and 4 to slow him down and than fire 4-5-2 and so on? Healing is Air 3
Some easy steps that you can write down and than memorize to get more effective as an Elementalist?

Sorry, but that is the way the dungeon is build up. Helping low level fractal runner may take up to one hour. That is one hour that you can’t use for leveling up by yourself.
I also hate the system and I’m often forced to run at lower level, because no one is playing at my level. For me this is nearly wasted time.
So far I did kill around 25 champions and I got nothing. (All in the Lost Shore Phase 3 Event).
Hasn’t the drop-rates adjusted that a champion will at least give you something.
Are there any news about this? Is there a way to see what happens in phase 2 for thoese that didn’t see it, because of a bug.
Sorry, but is this really intentional? You got kicked out, when the event starts and when you log in, than you are alone in a overflow server, where you have to play the events of phase 2? (Kill the Karak at the beach, go further south, make a camp and so on?)
I did try to run to the point, where the event of phase 3 takes place, but the bridge isn’t build yet.
How is one player supposed to make the quest of phase 2? Champions Kraka solo? And will the phase 3 easy to do solo?
The good news is that there are no increase in tokens at least level 4.
It is increased at level 6.
In this room you basicaly just need to press “Ready” when you see it on the screen.
The dungeons are not that hard – if you know how to follow and listen to instructions.
Well, I’m level 3 now. I did search 2 hours for a level 3 team, 1 hours for a level 2 and half an hour for level 1. Than I could finally run level 1 (and take two hours of it, because of the bad team).
That makes 5.5 hours for level one that gives me 1/3 of the reward that I would get, if I would run level 3 (yes, that is one fractal).
I really see no reason how this will encourage player to take lower ones with them.
Great to give us new content that can’t be finished because of bugs and remove the content before we could even play them.
That makes me wonder, why they release new content in the first place. Seems to be a big waste of resources, when only the developers can play it on their test server.
15 champions = 3 white items.
I would make more money, if I would harvest wood in Queensdale.
Please keep in mind that this map was made within three months of release. I find it perfectly suitable for a piece of free content – which, I must add, has been given to us BETWEEN two other giant events (the second being Wintersday next month).
Sorry, but maybe they should better fix the bugs first than to release such an ugly map. No map completion (I still don’t know if I’m missing something), ugly barrier at the end that has holes that are big enough for a Norn, but you still can’t in there, no skill points, long time runing to get somewhere, nearly one mob only.
I’m starting to like Orr now, compared to that.
Okay, that water was nice on some parts. But that still don’t makes it a masterpiece. I’m runing my forth char, and I’m still seeing new things on the old maps. But this new map? Already seen is all and find it boring.

This must really be this premium content that we all can take part now, that there is gear progression. Great job. (Did spend over 20 hours on this event so far – got 15 seconds cutscene, 1 gold repair cost, 60 minute lag and 30 minute beer drinking worker and the rest bugs from it.)
I did spend 18 hours waiting for Noll, changing overflow, waiting, talking, not talking, thanking you for this wonderful game, and after you give Noll finally the spine to stand up and face me, I’m now stuck because the Pastkeeper Saballa is no where to be found.
Or is this removed from the game, because all the people that wasted their life for Noll and didn’t have the chance to go on and finish the other parts of the events don’t deserver to play this part?
Was in the overflow server – 30 minutes building a catapult and than we could go to a NPC that is teleporting us to the new map.
Can we please see what was supposed to be happening? Like a Youtube-Video?
At least that we see the thing that we did invest 30 minutes just waiting?
BTW: My char is now naked. He is dying in overflow all the time. (Can’t move nor fight nor do anything at all, because of the lag.) Another 50 silver coins cost for me. I hope that I can go back to a repair station in the next 3 hours or so.
That is easier in 8 hours, terrible lags and 0 Noll respawn later you can enter it.
this is obviously a bug
if you read the dev blog at https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/leah-rivera-on-the-new-fractals-of-the-mist-dungeon/ you’ll see the following: “The dungeon will remember your progress, and will poll the party’s levels when you enter, scaling the dungeon to the highest common attained level”
So, please report this as a bug, the more that do, the faster it will get fixed
Sorry, but that is exactly how it is working. If you are in Fractals Skill level 15, 14, 13, 18 and one of level 1 than you will able to choose the highest common attained level. And in this case it would be level 1 (since one person hasn’t reached level 2 or higher yet)
I failed how to see this is a bug, but I notice it already, that this is a funkiller. But of course we are not playing Guild Wars 2 for fun. We are here for the lag, frustration and grind.
So far I did try over 150 overflow servers – in none of them Noll was active. That are nice 750 minutes of pur entertainment (keep in mind that you have to wait a maximum of 5 minutes, because he could spawn correctly. MAYBE.)

Keep in mind that each level will take around 1 hour with a PUG-group, that don’t know what to do.
The dungeon is designed this way, that if someone picks up a new player he will think. I’M level 4 and he is level 1, I would need to play 3 hours, till he is where I’m already and I only have 3 hours left to play today. So there is no benefit for me to play with him.
Sorry, but that is the way they make this dungeon. And most of us will be locked out soon forever.
You can do Fractals anyway, but since people assume that you will Ascendant items after the end of the hunt, you wont get this.
I already beat the dungeon. It will kick me out when I enter it because the dungeon has found out that I’m too good for this dungeon.
After finishing fractal level 2 you will be teleported to a room, than you see suddenly the Lions Arch screen, you are split from your party (and of course can’t reconect to them) and than the boss is coming to you…

Sorry, but random disconects are kitten and if I’m than in front of this kitten NPC, than this is very kitten.
If the whole group dies than you will be reseted to the last hidden waypoints. (E.g. in the partical dungeon) the waypoints are after each seals that you break.
If he was on your spot, than he was still to high. He should go down one more level (or everybody could do a mass suicide to meet you all at the hidden waypoint.)
Well, maybe it is only closed in overflow.
Should be open half an hour after the event started (great lag BTW thanks a lot.)

And no one knows why (there was only one Mr. Krabby left). So is this the great entertainment that you did promised us?
Everybody did die around 25 times because of the lag and we not even get a finished event. Please tell me that everybody that did take part in a successful event did get something great.
Over 10 minute loading time. Really great entertainment so far. Thanks that I could take part in this.
A short cut-scene, you see that monsters are attacking below, you use the waypoint, and now it is loading since around 5 minutes. If I would walk, I would be there already.
Really great entertainment. Maybe next time you are doing a different loading screen so at least we have some fun.
Edit. Oh and for those telling us not to speculate about the future….keep in mind we don’t know what infusions for armor will be like. Of is quite possible they will have set bonuses plus stat increases…we don’t know. Upgrade components for jewelry and armor is different,…so infusions for each may end up being different.
Oh, we already know. Infusion has stat upgrades and the more infusion it has the more stats are on it.
Could someone explain why this is bad? I see a screenshot with a bunch of characters… not sure why this equates to being bad?

Guild Wars was always about playing a few hours/days till you have the maximum level and itemes and than you could explore all the content and be everywhere welcome.
In Guild Wars 2 you will now have to grind mindless for hunders of hours to improve your gear and than you have to do it all over again to improve your gear again, because else your items will be lower than everybody else and no one wants to play with you.
Sorry, but that one is for the first level only. You can be sure that (since you need more Agony Resitance the deeper you go) that there will also exist a 10/10 and a 20/20 and so on. Keep in mind that the dungeon is endless, therefore we can up the stats endless, too. That created the perfect grindtreatmill…
And infusion gives you additional stats the more you grinded. So the grinder is always stronger than the normal player. Great designe if you like to spend each day 12 hours grinding to get better. Bad designe if you play the game to have fun.
Sorry, what the kitten? Infusion give you better stats the more you grind also OUTSIDE the dungeon?
That means in half a year a grinder will oneshot everything in the starter arena? He will oneshot every enemies he sees?
No one will from a group with someone with low infusion, since the infusioned grinders will be so much better.
And new contened will just have more HPs, because else it will be too easy for the grinder – and the non-grinder will be left outside.

I just did fall from 99% to 96%. So this two POI are worth 3%!
That would mean that each POI is worth 1.5% – if I’m getting the missing POI in WvWvW that I will be at around 130%.
I agree with you ganzo and i feel the same way. I do. However I really truly beleive that this is not happening here. They are upgrading the stats of gear already ingame. Im sorry if im starting to sound like a broken record here but really, people seem to be missing this major point.
For Legendaries ONLY. That are the ones where you would need to grind for hunderst of hours to get them.
Most of us where quite happy with a game that only needs a minimum of grind to get max gear = exotics. Now we should grind for many hours, although this game was supposed to be a non-grind game.
I dissagree with your conclusions. Your empiric proof is flawed i feel. By this analogy then AC1 (asherons call) the grandfather of mmporgs is also still succesful, its still around today in fact and that game came out in the early 90’s. In that game it was ALL about the grind and that is succesful also.
No one said that a grinding game isn’t succesfull or could be fun for some people. Hey, there is even a big one with pandas out there.
But here are many people that don’t like to grind and they thought that they did buy a game without grinding.
Does someone know how long the grinding will be from having all exotic to getting the new maximum items?
I assume that you will get the new items quite fast, but to make it work, I assume we are looking at at least 100 hours of dungeon runing.
Since there are only 9 different dungeon sets and you will see 3 in each run, that would mean that you would at least see each dungeon over 60 times, till you are finish with your grinding.

In my understanting when you will have 5 people who reached let’s say: 4, 6, 8, 9, 10 level, it will start for their team at 4th one. As all of them reached this level.
That sounds correct. And the one that already did beat level 10 have to play 3 hours (each level takes around 30 minutes), till eveyone is on his level.
I assume that no one will take new players with them, because it is just a waste of time.
dont mis understand Agony with another game mechanics, Agony is the SAME as “Guild Wars 1” that the Mursaat used on you, same mechanics, same name.
Im also ok with agony as it worked well on gw1 but come on, at least guys read the lore from gw1 before posting that Agony is from another game.

You can’t infuse your old armor
It use a slot that is nowhere else to be found
You need to grind for better infusion
And so on. What makes you think that the developers are too stupid to understand what they are doing?
It’s not 8% higher stats… it’s 8% (if that number is accurate) on just a couple pieces of gear compared to their exotic equivalent… so probably 1-2% overall, if that.
And you don’t see the possibility that they will release the whole armour set with around 8% stats overall like announced, because…

Ascended == Legendary
There is no progression between them because the stats stay the same.
Just more bling some people don’t care for at all.
But since the Legendary can’t be infused and you need infused to play in the dungeons, you will be locked out without Ascendends.
I don’t want to be locked out, because I don’t want to grind.

Yeah. There it stands again, that nothing we are complaining about will be changed. Nice that this has been assured again.
I personally welcome the new content. Especially since they’ve defined that the gear progression WILL end as Rare -> Exotic -> Ascended -> Legendary.

I don’t usually post or even look in any gaming forum, It’s always a cry topic over another cry topic, made from a very small amount of people thinking they are all the community.
I just want to say that I like the new ascended gear, exotics are so much common and unbalance right now, an armageddon set it’s the same as a crafted one, but it’s 100 times hareder to get, I think this game need a higher tier of set (ascended are +2 in stats anyway, not a big deal), harder and longer to get than exotics to balance things out. (GW1 got obsidian armor, kurcickz ecc)
Sorry, but these armors where not better than the one that everybody can get in an hour.
Now you will soon have armor for that you need to grind for months to progress. That is not the game I want to play.

Sadly, I do not care. It is not necessary and nobody asked for it. Nobody asked for progression between the two because the stats of the Legendary and the Exotic were the same. The difference was only cosmetic.
Frankly, in Guild Wars the items never even needed “tiers”.
That entre idea in itself was alien to the francishe in itself, and now the new idea implied why they were implemented in the first place. The is the problem.
