Yes, they are not ‘’ proper ’’ dragon minion, but they still serve him in a way.

I think the Nightmare is to Mordremoth what the Cult of Svanir is for Jormag ( But the Nightmare didnt know about the dragon ) , EDIT and I think all Sylvari are sleeping agent, but the Nightmare courter are closer to their ’’true’’ identities.

Secondo, I agree, the Sylvari are not like typical dragons minions , but there is nothing that say every dragon should do the same thing. Modremoth can be the exception.

I think Mordremoth have 2 type of minion. The classical one, the Mordrems, with Hive Mind, mindless, etc. Like the branded and risen.

The second type, the Sylvari, the ‘’ elite minion ’’. I think 2 scenario are possible here.

1st Sylvari are super sentient soldier for the dragon, but Ventari decorrupt them ( I don’t think it’s that one).

2nd, Sylvari are ‘’ sleeping agent ’’ minions. They are born ok, sentient, without HiveMind and love flower and Bambi. But when activated, they become crazy " mindless’’ bloodthirsty minions. They ,maybe, also have an Hive Mind ( we can’t know, since for the moment, only 2 Sylvari where corrupted and not in the same time.)

Why I support more the 2nd scenario ? Because of Mallyk and the end cinematic ( not the trailer for HoT, but the Pact defeat. )

Mallyk is a Sylvari without Pale Tree and Ventari, but he is not an evil sentient plant. When you see the video, the sylvari seems like mindless minion in a Hive after some sort of mind control. Like Ceara and the zephyrite Sylvari ( Aurin ? ), there is a kind of ’’activation’’ that make them crazy.

Also, I think a Nightmare Sylvari is not a full corrupt minion, they can also be not even close to be minion, but, they can be attracted to Mordremoth like the Svanir are attracted to Jormag. There is a clear difference between Faolen and other nightmare courter, who have still a clear mind, and Ceara and Aurin, who where crazy like a rabid infected dog.

Speaking of Jormag, this is an exemple of dragon with two type of minion. The icebrood, classic one, and the Svanir. The Svanir are not proper minion, but Jormag corrupt them with a different way before turning them to Icebrood.

So, I , for one, think a dragon can have two type of minions, a classical one and some special card.

I agree, a Dragon Knight could be no lore-friendly, but I like the concept of a Dark Knight ( Hell, my second character in WoW was a Death Knight)

I just don’t know how it can be in game, lore-wise. Maybe a kind of Demonist, who summon power from the Mist ?

The difficulty with these scenes is that you have to choose a moment in time to shine your spotlight on. The choice of which moment to show is of critical importance to good storytelling, and it’s rarely clear which is the correct choice. In this case, we chose to have a moment of celebration. Like the celebration at the end of a major war. Although so many died and the future still looks black, sentient beings usually want a moment when they can forget those troubles and celebrate something good. We chose that moment. I guarantee that the b-iconics don’t feel cavalier about the death and destruction, nor about the scary future. I take your comments to heart though, and thank you for being so thoughtfully involved in the story. Is it considered bad etiquette to write that many tweets in a row? LOL.

@washednblood @MalchiorDeven No one in-game knows that a dragon has awakened yet. Only you know out of game. They heard the cry of the dragon, but Tyrians didn’t see the cinematic. Only players. It gets complicated.

Just to bring some light question about the lore , you can also ask your randoms questions. I will update mine later .

1. What happen with the cloth of a Norn when he transform into a spirit form ? ( Bear, Wolf, etc ) . They magically disapear and come back after the transformation ? They shatter like an old Werewolf movie ?

2. Does the asura’s Golem of each university ’’look’’ the same or is there major difference ? If yes, which difference ?

3. In the ‘canon’ lore, which nation found Kryta ? Orr or Elona ? Gw1 lore seem to say Elona, but personal story say Orr.

4. Abbadon gave magic to who ? Only Human, all races, some mortal races, thunderschrimps ?

5- How many ’’paralel’’ plane there is ? I know there is the Mist and the Realm of Abaddon ( now Kormir ) and Grenth, but I don’t know if each god have their plane and if there is more plane with Etheral Demon and vampiric Bunnies. ( I didnt play enough of GW1 ‘’endgame ’’ to know it, I’ve only done the missions. )

Add flowers to the hole = problem solved. Flowers always calm the rating. Could just be lines of lion guard and citizen under blanket, without blood .

( I know there is dead people in the medical stations )

As long as it doesn’t look like Attack on Titan, should be fine.

Wildstar = Hardcore player à la WoW vanilla/bc.

Gw2 = Casual player who like adventure and zerg.

Not the same players, not really a competition between them. TESO aim for the player more casual like GW2, but it will fall hard like a whale jumping down of a building. ( source : weekend beta player and the media overall negative review ( Angry joes as made the honest one i think. ) ) .

For Cantha and Elona, the only way it could fit with living story, it’s with an ‘’invasion ’’ story : each 2 week, a new zone it’s open and the front line continu in the land of ( cantha/Elona) .

If you talk to the people around the camps it’s actually pretty bleak. Apparently the bulk of the Lionguard are already down for the count or dead. There are a lot of badly injured people and people who have lost love ones. The games rating wouldn’t allow them to have them in the game world but the refugees talk about mass graves. ALOT of people are dying from this attack.

I don’t thing the game rating would suffer from larges graves. Just look at the Duskwood zone in Wow, that zone is a big cemetery. I just wish we could see more dead bodies and not only take the words from npc ( But overall, good update. )

As much as I enjoy these hammy meat jokes, I think Braham Briarbane has a nicer ring to it.

If Braham does eventually forge his own legend and earn a more impressive name I would hope it would have more to do with a personal journey and accomplishment than a team effort he happens to be a part of. If Scarlet gets taken down, it’s going to be a team effort, the players, hopefully the orders, and the other characters are all going to play a role. It’s one thing for Rox to ride the player’s (and hylek and Vigil’s) coat tails with Tequatl, but for Braham to take on the moniker denoting him taking down Scarlet, that wouldn’t feel like a personal achievement worthy of an individual’s legend.

I don’t know the strict rules of norn naming conventions, but it feels like cheating if team work is involved. If during the battle for Lion’s Arch Braham solos Scarlet and takes her down himself, by all means. I think we know that won’t happen. If he earns a name for a role he plays in the final battle (maybe he pulls a River Tam on the Molten Alliance) that would be a different story (and a different name).

I’d rather see Braham have some personal journeys and challenges in season 2 of the Living Story where he earns a name off of personal accomplishments.

Don’t forget that Braham is a follower of the spirit of the Wolf, which love teamplay, so it will not be cheated for him to gain legends by a teamwork effort.

Question 1 – Do you plan to do something like an ingame Codex, with unlockable lore information about creatures, places, npc , etc ? ( Mostly like the Galactic Archives from Wildstar… you could call it the Durmand Priory Codex ! ) ?

Question 2 – Lorewise, which race is better in blacksmitting ? I would say Norn, but Charr can do good weapon in a large amount.

Question 3 – Is there any chance to have a fractal where we will see a battle between the dragons minions and the first Alliance ( Dwarfs, Seers, Mursaats, Jotuns and Forgotten ? )

I don’t think they know their ‘’duty ’’ in the World. They are like beast, or plant. A mushroom doesnt know he decay the organic matter for some bacteria and plant, and some bacteria doesnt know they can take the N2 in the air to NH4 on the ground, for the plants. ( The NH4 is change in NO3 before. )

But they do it, because they can and they need it to survive. The little bacteria doesnt care if the plant have is NO3 and us, animals, can eat that plant to have N for our metabolism and our DNA ( and other thing ) , as long as he can take that N2 to make NH4 and survive. It’s the same for dragon : They don’t know the magic in Tyria is saturate and someone must bring it down to an acceptable level ; they just eat it because they can and they need it. ps : Sorry for bad english

We need a story who is truly Dark, à la Warhammer, but not too Dark since we need to love something and protect it.

The question is simple, the pie is hot .

So It can be everything from an other universe ( book, movie, other video-game,etc): a race, a hero, a town, a class, a god, anything.

Personnaly, i would import a lot of thing, but I will only take two for the moment :

The classical Dwarf race from LotR or Warhammer or Warcraft. I know there was Dwarves in gw1, but i didnt feel they were that classic ( which is good) , but I always loved the classis Dwarfs, so I hoped they were more classic… that’s it

I would also bring the 4 majors chaos god from the Warhammer universe( Khorne, Nurgle,Slaanesh and Tzeentch) and the Chaos in general. I think they are better for a god-like vilain than the Elder Dragon ( for the moment ) .

I think the Norns could be very powerfull if they would join together. Like the Nadir in Druss, The Legend or even the Mongols in real life.

I bet a livestock of beer that the one who will unite all Norn will be Braham, and he will shatter the tooth of Jormag .

Well, if you want to compare , the nigthmare court is more like the japaneses or even the Russian . They are powerful and can give extrapower for the krait . They are not poweless Quaggans

I could see a vilain mage-hunter who fight for a greater good. Since it’s the magie itself who awake the dragons, he would try to kill all the mage and destroy all artefact , so the dragon can fall asleep again.

Zwierz, you remind me of a vilain who came by last friday in the Legend of Korra . I don’t remember how to use spoiler balises, so if someone who have seen the episode could explain to everyone, it will be gentle. And yes, you know who i’m talking about.

If Today, the Anet writer come to your house and beg you to create the best vilain in game EVAR, how it would look ? Personality , power, race , etc.

My favorite vilain have always been the dramatic one who came from the good side, but fall into darkness, like Arthas, Darth Vader, Sasukee ( booooh me, boooooooh me ) .

So it could be, you know, Braham who try to bring the Norns to Jormag, but in seek for power , he would fall under the mental influence of Jormag (or other dragon, it’s just an example). Also, the corruption is fun when there is a mental process behind, not just a magic spell who corrupt the good guy in 3 secondes and it’s all.

There is also the vilain type, most of the time lawful evil, who is evil because they fight for a cause greater than him or us, and we screw all up when we defeat him and cry because we discover he was a kitten for the good of the universe. ( I don’t have an example in my mind for now, so if someone can bring one, with cookies and milk.)

Just like it’s very possible that a meteor came down, in-between GW1 and GW2, and wiped out all life on Tyria. What the players are experiencing now, is simply a lucid dream that Primordus is having, having grown bored now that the world have been destroyed.

He decided to add in the Sylvari, because he liked the idea of a “Dream with a Dream”, and because he was running out of ideas. He liked them so much, he even decided to roleplay as one in the world… Trahearne!

Agree with Konig. That theory have too many flaw and made-Up proof. Also , when someone is too sure about one theorie and take it like divine truth , there is a High risk that the theorie is fail :p . A good scientist is always in Doubts !

With the Lich ? And the boy who betrayed the Sylvari ? I’d play it but forgot it ! So yes, the Pale Tree don’t know everything, so Caithe could be a souless murderer !

Maybe Caithe have found a place in the Maguuma jungle where the bond is broken ? (The Waterfalls or the bloodstone , maybe). A magic Artefact ? Jésus cast a magic spell on her ? Who Know ?

Since the begining of the living story, we need to guess everything.

I guess she was able to kill an uname firstborn without the Pale tree know it or the other Sylvaris. Why ? Don’t know. Seek of power, self defense, envy ( maybe Faolain was in love with that guy/girl first).
