Hello, I bought Guild Wars in Europe and played on EU servers, ping was great.
Now I changed my residence to Japan.
I want to change server for two reasons, ping and time zone.
Ping: My ping got higher (average 300ms now). It is playable but not optimal.
Time zone: I usually play around 3 or 4 AM in Europe which is kinda sad because the world is so empty, and raids and meet guilds is hard.
I think moving to the US may solve time zone problem but increase my ping. If I change to US server, will the ping be higher?
I am afraid to pay all those gems just to test the ping.

I have lots of “score” in Charm and once I could start an event that noone could, by speaking with an NPC.
My brother didn’t had the dialog “heart” line. It was just a normal npc for him.
This was the only situation I ever saw this system beng used, and I also agree with you
they won’t mind your post because there is a rule you have to post different issues in different posts – yeah, I know, doesn’t make too much sense when, for example, all your issues are related to wvw or dungeons, they want it all split.

PROBLEM 5: Too many currencies and only a few are important to vertical progression (Progression that increase your stats and end-game content). Only Gold and laurels are really important to vertical progression. There is something wrong with the dungeon tokens system. If you want an entire set of that dungeon you need to run it innumerous times… that’s repetitive and not fun. Other mmorpg created generic dungeon tokens to address this problem, and some created random dungeon bonus rewards to increase the variety feeling (like Anet did with fractals)
Solution: Make generic tokens rewards that scale with how long that path takes to complete in average and add ascended weapon ingredients or complete parts like (Ascended Greatsword Blade) avaliable with the underused currencies like Karma and Tokens.
PROBLEM 6: Cloth price is way too high due to drop scale up system. And this is making some people creating all new chars and level them to a certain level just to farm those scraps!
Solution: Make “Box of wool”, “Box of linen” available in Laurel or Karma vendors like “Crafting bags” in laurel vendor.
PROBLEM 6: The price of Upgrade Extrator (250 gems, 25 gold in May 2014). It simply removes an upgrade from an item. The price of the most expensive upgrades are Sigil-12gold, Rune-14gold. That’s way more economic to buy a sigil and replace it destroying the previous upgrade. With the exception of agony resistance infusions, but still.
Solution: Simply lower the price .
PROBLEM 7: Agony resistance scales down with the other stats. This is not really a problem, but a detail that may confuse newer players. That doesn’t make any sense since this stat is only used in fractals and all players are scaled up to lvl 80.
Solution: Make it constant.
PROBLEM 8: Precursor weapons are too expensive. Although I personally don’t quite agree on this problem, it is very common to see on forums all the complains that people write regarding the difficulty of getting one. Solution: I have no idea
PROBLEM 9: Contested waypoints with mega server. Its anoying and makes players spend a lot more money on transportation. Need to use 2 waypoints always (This was specially noticable in Diessa Plateau)
Solution: Make all waypoints avaliable if you are outside the map. IF that waypoint is contested in the server you got in to, you get teleported to the nearest waypoint. This system already existed before mega server.
PROBLEM 10: Blindness animation is too soft. One of the developers philosophy was “Keep your eyes in the game instead of the UI”, that’s why when we get blinded we get a slight darker border in the frame, and when dazed, the frame turns purple. In my opinion, this frame darkening is not enough to see when you are blinded.
Solution: Make the blind animation on UI bigger and darker, OR (Big change) make the whole screen dark while blind duration persists.
Hello GW community, I created this post to let people make suggestions to some problems and details they find which can have simple solutions without needing major changes in the game. Thanks!
Please feel free to make your suggestions and write them in a very simple form like:
PROBLEM: Briefly explain your problem, give examples, explain the way other games you play treat this problem. Keep it simple.
Solution: Give one or two possible solutions to the problem you presented and be short.
PROBLEM 1: Some Renown Heart that really rely on contested areas and heavily depend on creature killing are hard. With the mega server there are less contested areas, most of the maps have the contested areas already pacified, therefore it is harder to find monsters to kill. Example: “Help the Vanguard stall the ogre advance” in Fields of Ruin, there were like 4-5 players waiting for items in the floor to respawn because there was absolutely no ogres to kill.
Solution: Significantly increase the “score” that pick up items and other non-combat chores on those hearts. They already exist, but the progression is so slow that makes it very booring.
PROBLEM 2: “Wait! I need to change set” is heard sometimes in a dungeon. We have other equipment in our bag and we need to change it for a specific function (WvW, Dungeons, Fractals, etc). I read this before in a post that actually made the “Swap set icon” and placed it in the UI, but after 30 minutes of trying to find that post I couldn’t
Solution: Add a simple button that allows players to change sets in the Hero panel with predetermined armor.
PROBLEM 3: Crafting is not fun or simple.
Solution: Make a crafting tree of every item in crafting UI similar to MOBA games, or add links in the recipes to each ingredient or lower the amount of intermediate items. I never saw a tree like this in any mmorpg BUT GW2 is the one that I played with the bigger amount of intermediate items.
PROBLEM 4: Mobility skills in PvE. It is really anoying to use teleport, blink, shadowstep… and it doesnt work simply because the creature is tauting me on the top of a 50 centimeter high platform. With a simple jump we can overcome that, I know this mobility skills limitation exists to avoid jumping puzzle abuses. Most people I know create a mesmer for jumping puzzles, because of the portal skill (he can do it in a hard jump and if he falls he uses it to get back to the original position). And some create asura mesmer just because they say asuras are easier to “jump with”. Why elementalists can’t use teleport? Or engineers rocket jump?
Solution: Totaly unlock the mobility skills in PvE and Jumping puzzles OR unlock it everywhere and lock them on jumping .
Non-infused lunaria is 46 all. It seems the bug is only in the infused version.
Another detail that still doesnt fit the new patch is the message that still shows up when you are going to add an infusion to an item “This will become soulbound” and it doesn’t.
I also belive anet wont go that way…
Although I loved to see how a world boss fight be in underwater.
- Waypoints price should decrease with distance, not the opposite (Closer you are, more expensive it is). Objective: Exploration Stimulation
- More weapons. You have tons of great ideas in the Forum.
EXTRA: Crafting skills with tree-like crafting option like MOBAS (More fun, intuitive and good for new players)
Hi, I’m an Elementalist and I like your idea.
They also seem perfect to have Control-based skills (like all hammer skills).
For example: Staves are mainly supprtive, Scepters do single target dmg so this would fit perfect with Control-based skills that light armor professions lack (when comparing to hammer).
Things that came to my mind:
For Necro: Summon chains of ice that pulls your target and chill them.
Ele Air: Throws your target and other enemies arround your target to the air
Ele Earth: Sumons a rock hand from the ground that imobilizes your target, activate again to slam the target and knock down all enemies in a line
Mesmer: Switch places with your target confusing him
This also seems awsome weapon for thievs IF wont float in the air. Following the Control-Based skills
going to the dungeon at its level is hard mode,
ever tried to run AC1 on level 35?
ever tried to run SE on levl 65?
caucedus manor on level 45?the dungeon design in the game is severely lacking.
it is hard to impossible to do on its designed level,
and ridiculously easy to run as a exotic geared 80 level group.
I agree with you, I play since release and I was one of the first people to try dungeons (and we still had no stacking strategy), it is still harder to make it with low level chars.
The lack of difficulty on dungeons comes from the scale down system. It should be more intelligent than it is.
Another fact that suggets Scale down is the problem is: Higher level dungeons are harder, just compare AC to Honor of The Waves. And they were designed to have the same difficulty.
They cost so much because they are “not-farmable” at the moment.
Well you can always make a lvl 20~30 character and use it to kill pirates in gendarran fields… For people that like to farm their own materials like me its kinda impossible to get wool or mid tier cloths. All this because the downscale system.. (that i actually like).
My sugestion would be to increase the direct drop rate of wool scraps from bags and even monsters of that level. Or simply deactivate the downscale system on drops (big change, but better balance).
The font in my Trading Company window is very wierd because I have the user interface size “Small”. This only happens in TP window. It’s very hard to ready sometimes and the numbers are quite hard do differentiate without clicking the item.

I’m getting a bug when summoning conjured weapons recently.
When I summon, it appears one in the ground but not in my hand.
This only happens sometimes.

It is not unusual to see the bullets from a Thief’s sneak attack well before he re-renders (he is supposed to render before the first bullet fires). In a busy area he may never render for you at all.

No I am not. “War ain’t fair” took another whole meaning. WvW is not suposed to be balanced but this is simply stupid.

I’m sorry, OP, but unless the Thief was a hacker who has managed to give himself a 0-CD stealth keybind, he was using P/D and used Cloak and Dagger to stealth himself repeatedly. The “Unload” that you saw was Sneak Attack whether you like to think so or not, and it’s perfectly understandable that you were mistaken with the state of WvW culling/short CnD animation/etc.
It’s not a “fade out render issue”, and that’s something that doesn’t even exist.
I understand I can be mistaken … Lets say that he was doing “Sneak Attack” while stealthed/untargetable. That still can’t be right, because when you press 1 your stealth disappears right?
And I say again (but ok I may be mistake although I seriously doubt it) he never attacked me, the ranger or the pet with melee.
And just because your computer doesnt have a render issue doesnt mean it doesnt exist, I’m not the only one saying this happened. But this only happens in WvW.

Anyway, are you sure this was WvW or was it sPvP? Because you contradict yourself in the op and they are 2 completely different game modes and there are things you can do in WvW that are impossible in spvp(cnd critters, heavy culling abuse, etc.)
I said a buch of times it was in WvW and I only said that in sPvP i never saw that.
true he could steal from the ranger pet but still… that has nothing to do with what I posted. Can u attack while stealthed when u steal from pets? No, it just gives you another stealth skill.
This is a bug/glitch of thief fade out render. Fix it please. Don’t go on details like “he was using Sneaky attack not unload blah blah”. I say again, he was using BOTH, but that doesnt even matter! Some of you guys are missing the whole point.
I will make it simpler Me and other players cannot see some thievs in WvW while they are attacking, and it seems a fade out render issue

He didn’t use Unload
The first skill on the P/D has a stealth version Neak Attack which is very similar to unload, it does five rapid attacks and stacks up some bleeds.
Yes he did the first skill P/D but only a few times. The major times it was unload because i had no bleeds on me I payed attention to that D=. I know what you are saying but no it wasn’t that either. He could really attack while stealthed.
I wish i could remembered to take some SS.
It’s like the thief stealth fades out instead of simply appear instant. But that fade out non-targetable time was waaay too big on that particular thief + 2390489234 stealth skills no CD, no House and no melee.
I can’t explain more details than that, and its too late to check combat log now. Thats why I came to forum ^^.
Probably placing it in the thief section was a bad choice though.

This thief wasnt p/p, u have no idea what are u talking about. He was p/d. Welcome to gw2 and its culling.
How could he use Unload then? I’m not even crying or saying thief is OP. My objective here is to know if this already happened to someone else, this glitch in visuals.
And P/D would imply that he shadowsteped to me and attacked me melee at least once and he didnt. I repeat, he remained stealthed and shoting all the time.

Hello guys. Yesterday me and a ranger got owned by a Thief in WvW, because he remained 99,99% of the time invisible/untargetable and could even shot stealthed.
The battle was on during aprox. 5 minutes and I could see the bullets (he was pistol/pistol and never attacked either with melee, so he couldnt do D/D 5) without being able to see him.
Yes occasionally he appeard for like 1-2 seconds and we couldnt touch him because he pressed V 2 times and stealthed again.
He never used the stealth house spell, and he never did Cloak and shadows.
That thief killed us both and we were both lvl 80 full exotic and familiar with thievs (since i play thief sometimes and VS thievs and I never saw that).
His damage wasn’t too high but still.. remaining 5minutes of combat stealthed with no cooldown. He killed us both while stealthed finished us while stealthed and ran away stealthed.
In /map someone said to me that that problem occurs to him as well, that his graphic card cannot render thievs after appear from stealth correctly and takes longer. But me and ranger had same issue? I find that hard since I never saw that in any other thief in sPvP.
Was that thief really pro or a bug? I wish I remembered to take some screenshots.

I love how GW2 sounds .
Im bringing this up because i seem to spending to much on traveling. Here’s some examples why i believe its too exspensive to travel.
-I go to SPvP or WvW for a while, ending up in Lions Arch when done, and have to spend a little over 3s to get back to cursed shore or another high lvl place.
-I do my personal story and it tells me to talk with somebody in Fort Trinity, which cost about 1-2s then i have to travel to a new place where the story is. So im ending up speding the reward i just got from the story quest.
-Im trying to find more members to do a dungeon, i gotta travel to a high lvl location so i can search for players via the “map” chat. Thats 6s, (back and forth) and the dungeon might fail ending up costing much in repairs as well, with no end reward.
A high lvl event almost gives 2s. Maybe events should just give more and travel stay as it is?
What do you think? Is it fair enough prices?
I agree with you, I wished that very far waypoints were cheaper than close ones. (Just the opposite has it is right now). The very close to you should be like 3 silver ye to make you go around and not just teleport.
- mini-pets should not go to collectibles with “deposit all collectibles” option.
- make traits more powerfull (when fighting against a profession, all of them feels equal, traits dont specialise you enough)
- my friend should be capable of playing with me easily in sPvP or events with join in function (christmas halloween)
I agree with you, GW2 needs more achievments to aim for and without any doubt PVP MAPS/MODES. More DE would be great as well.
But chill, this is a new game, wait for it. GW2 has a lot of potencial. And this one-time events with mega patches show us that this baby is going to grow a lot more.
GW2 is not a game, its a world, give time for improvements.
I agree with you. Anet said “we wont have fly mounts because that ruins the scale of the game” so lets teleport everywhere instant from every spot in the world…
And for people that like role-play or give a special attention to immersion, this swiftness addiction may be a problem “let me grab my mega heavy sword to travel faster because i can leap with it, or let me grab my staff wich i do not like because im faster with it”
Though I dont know if mounts are the best option.
-Rides in non-player-controled vehichles (fly or terrestrial)
- closer Waypoints should be more expensive than waypoints in other side of map (to encourage people to go there instead of teleporting..)
I was so happy when I first played Toypocalypse and Snowball Mayhem! That I immediately went calling for my friend to play with me..
It’s simply impossible for us to play together a game that we both love.
Why not a Join In feature? or Party request.

I have a lot of suggestions but i will only state 2:
- Make something to conjured weapons please! (make them more OP, make more traits to them..) no one uses conjured weapons for a reason.
- Elementalist support is horrible because all water traits are horrible in my opinion. All I wanted was an elementalist water based support that can be versatile enough to be independent. Sadly I had to make a guardian to have 3234234 more dmg and much more support abilities/traits.
Maybe im kinda blind when i’m playing xD But I think I never saw a player botting.
I have seen a lot of gold sellers, they even spam my Mail.
I agree. Im a condition based ele, and i cant do much dmg vs mega bosses (15 people+). The stack limit is stupid, and they get imune to my burn.
Condition damage builds are made for long fights… But that stack limit ruins it

I met an heterosexual couple in my storyline, and i also spoke with an npc near " House of Caithe" that tells her story and her beloved male “boyfriend” that betraid her.
So…No it is not forced.
I love being underwater with an elementalist. Really fun, highly recommended!
Pro Tip: If you want to survive in sPvP, never fight underwater as an elementalist.
Pro Tip: If you want to survive Anywhere, never fight underwater as an elementalist.
I actually use that skill a lot but its the worse of the 3 similar skills. (I wont specify traits)
Mesmer blink – 30 seconds CD, 600 range
Thief Shadow Step – 50 seconds CD, 1200 range, and can remove conditions and decieve players easily (my personal favorite)
Ele’s Lighning Flash – 45 seconds CD, 600 range, and damages.
All are similar but still very diffrent, I use lighnting flash to finish enemies in sPvP or WvW. Flash in his face when hes running with 10 hp and instant FINISH HIM. In PvE i use it to flee, or ress players.
I dont know if mesmer traits can affect blink, but thief has very cool traits on this deception skill. We ele’s can trait it to give, regeneration, vigor, remove 1 or 2 conditions, and a nerfed stack of might for like 2 seconds… (this last final fire major trait is useless)?
If i could, I would simply add lighting flash a blast finisher = creative, fun and fits ele perfectly
