I believe that this was done because like blood rubies from the bloodstone and the snow berries from bitterfrost, they can be salvaged and converted into currency. ( magic currency stuff)
So I’m just kind of wondering if arenanet is ever going to do anything with all of the karma merchants that sell nothing but bell peppers and ginger? I mean they’ve been around for about 4 years now, and don’t really add anything to the game. I don’t have this huge overwhelming need for any of those ingredients that they sell and I assume many other people don’t either. They seem like something that could either use are reworking to have some decent things to purchase from them, or they could just be removed altogether. I don’t know but has anyone ever talked about or mention of these merchants?

But you can SEE your Charr; where and when he lands and where and when to jump. Imagine you had a big block covering your toon and you couldn’t tell either. I’m not saying I have problems with them but I do understand where OP is coming from.
When you play long enough you no longer have to actually see your character on the jumping puzzle. Hell you don’t even need to see where you’re jumping if you can memorize where to jump and what time to jump. Also if having a bigger character next to yours is such a huge issue for all of you then I have a solution that will solve everything for all of you perfectly. Wait, simply stand there for an extra second or two and wait for the person to go before you, and then go. This is such a simple solution to something that I don’t view as a problem, and we don’t need to do anything silly like changing character sizes or basically doing the same thing as what we did to the clock tower.

Really though whatever happened to all the revenant themed weapons during the HoT beta, and the preview codes like the hammer, mace, axe, swords, etc? I’m sure the models are still in game. Admittedly I have not tried the preview codes for them in awhile either to see if they work. Still, are they just never getting released or something? Random things I think of while waiting for the movie to start lol.
I understand some of the rp community probably says some intresting things in me chat. I was going to say turn off emotes but I guess its really important to see when someone you know waves at you. I wouldn’t ask you to move to another city either, and I understand for those people who bought the queen pass thing its probably annoying being stuck right next to one of the inns at DR. A tip I can give is if you don’t want to hear this, guest on a different server so you are not in the general rp instance of the city. There is usually a specific /ip instance we in the rp community use, usually tied in with the tarnished coast server. Doing this should put you in adifferent map istance than us. Now of course I would say to those who don’t use the Queens pass thing to just use another city, but I know there’s probably people who like DR or Rata Sum, and it would sound a little rude saying “Dont like it? Gtfo”. But we use this specific instance so one, it is where we can have open rp being that TC is more or less the rp server we join. And two, so other people on different instances won’t have to deal with us.
As far as having an rp channel goes I suppose that’s fine, but we are so probably going to use say chat as well. Idk depends on how they make it I suppose. But typically as an active role player in this game I try to not rp by people at banks and crafting stations since people like to be so vocal about their “distaste” for something I like doing in this game.
I just got my second 4th anniversary gift but It didn’t give me an option to choose from the other four back skins that I don’t have. Now someone told me that you only get one per account. I want think he is wrong because that to me seems like a bit of a waste of the other skins and annoyance for someone who likes to have all the nice things. But is that really how Anet went about them? you really only get one per account? Seems kind of dumb to me.
Pretty embarrassing to just “loose” weapons you already had models for in the game. Probably the one weapon set i love more than ascalonian weapons and it just vanishes with hardly any explaination. Hell i think the codes you enter for previewing then still work so explain that one to me.
IS something like this really needed? Seriously other than just for the sake of inclusion to appease a small group, how would this improve anything as far as gameplay or content is concerned?
I agree with this so much. All this time I believe we have only gotten one new horn set which was Rox’s. I’ve seen many threads with many wonderful designs and ideas for horn types. But nothing has ever come from it. And I don’t mean to beat dead horses, but could we get some serous hair styles for once instead of the crazy huge, super sayan, overly outrageous ones that we’ve been getting all the time?
-ahem- But yes, it would be nice to see new sets of horn styles. And why end there? Shoot maybe add little racial deals for other races like visiable piercings, scars, tattoos etc.
Pretty self explanitory in title. Just downloaded that new build and then logged in just fine and started playing. Then suddenly I lost connection. Relogged and got to character selection screen, pressed play and it seems to try and load the map before boom! Lost internet connection.
Internet is fine so im guessing the update had something behind this.
I like them. Hell 7/12 of my characters are charr just because I like them. If you don’t like them, cool don’t pay them then nobody’s forcing you to. Only thing I get annoyed with is how bad halv the stretched out clipping armor looks on them, but I know anet doesn’t really care to fix it so I just try to find something that works.

I keep seeing that when I go to look what I need for Predator, and it it always bugs me that I never can seem to figure out what skin the legs are. I’ts got to be medium I think.

This is probably going to sound incredibly vague, but I’m not really sure what’s happened here so bare with me. I was playing the new Intro story for the heart of thorns beta on my beta character. Where are your fighting the boss after picking up some sylvari prisoners, and then suddenly it says if the game starts to flicker on and off on my screen. Kind of like if it was windowed, it would constantly keep opening and closing. The game was incredibly laggy as if there was a massive lag spike and then suddenly my monitor shuts off. I have no idea what caused this have yet to try to play for the personal story again. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing these technical issues.
After all this time has passed, and looking back on the updates, tweaks, buffs, nerfs, and reworking of existing systems from day one of this game being released. I will never understand why they felt the need to rework traits in the game. What was so wrong about it? What was so difficult about buying three different books that unlocked all your traits in different tiers? Why fix something that isn’t broken, or hard to understand? I just don’t know.
Both anet and the playerbase wanted a scavenger hunt system tied to progression, kind of like GW1’s elite skill capturing, so anet added that into their trait system. The idea was good, but it was not well executed, and the game got worse for it. Now, they are changing traits to make them simpler to get again (in fact, simpler than the first system), while also making them easier to understand and that would make sense with the new specialization system.
I guess I can understand that then. I remember enjoying capturing elite skills in Guild Wars, but i mostly just used tomes for them. Maybe a few skills could have been locked in each tier instead of all of them? Regardless of that I agree with the poor exicution. It’s the main reason i stopped making alts. I just hope this new system isn’t too bad. Still uncertain how this progressive system for traits works, but I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.

Am I the only one absolutely laughing my kitten off here at the irony of current events and the April fools joke? I mean…yeah its bad, but wow the timing is just hilariously bad. To everyone saying it’s insensitive. Get over yourselves. It’s a harmless joke that can be precieved however a person wants.
If it bothers you that much, then just wait till the second. So kitten tired of everyone out there on the internet complaining about how “This offends me/group of people” like it’s some kind of sport.
In not a huge fan of half the legendary weapons myself either. Juggernaut, twilight, the dagger, the predator, Frostfang, and flame seeker prophecies are really all i like. I get the whole “fun and silly weapons” deal, but I don’t really want some rediculous flashy, rainbow, sunshine and glitter thing. I want a serious looking weapon for my serious looking character. The world of Tyria is facing the end times, and in my opinion, unicorn shooting bows dont seem to fit into that theme. I’m sure that people are going to say “But that’s just one persons opinion!” but most of my friends and other people ive talked with agree that we need more serious looking legendaries.
Also I could care less about the whole feminine/masculine conversation that seems to have randomly sprung up in the thread. Im just saying make some better looking legendary weapons that fit with the current state of the world.
As a person who primarily has charr characters, I am against this. Besides is not like we don’t have armor and weapons that already display guild emblems.
I’m just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing a rediculous increase in DCs after the most recent LS patch? I kid you not In under an hour I have probably lost connection to servers 5 or more times. There will always be a lag spike, and then boom, disconnection.
Is this something on Anet’s end?
I GW1 my main was a warrior, so in GW2 my first character I had to make was human with the same name. However i choose guardian, because the class looked fun, and it ties in with his fluff. (Resurrected to fight the dragons)
Even though they were cast as the villains in gw1 the Charr were my favorite race probably with the Tengu coming in second. Then when Pyre Fierceshot was introduced I thought it was cool that there were some good Charr.
So when they announced that the Charr would be playable in gw2 I about lost my kitten mind in excitement.
+1 its like they are trying to kill this game. What is wrong with you anet? How did someone who worked on this not say “Hey guys I think this is just stupid. Lets actually see what people are suggesting and get some ideas from there.”
Because you know, no one can learn the simple way we all did, and instead of putting a tool tip in the game that explains what to do to clear out this “confusion” we just decided to remove it until your a certain level…..because again its apparently “confusing and overwhelming”.
Honestly if you didn’t put two and two together when you first went into your downed state then I don’t know what to say.
Yet another pointless update in this fail of a feature patch.
I’ll admit when I saw the warband support skill I thought the exact same thing. I thought it would bring to random characters from my warband in from the personal story to fight alongside me and I was very disappointed to just see soldiers from whatever Legion you chose.
For a long time I have wished they would add in the old armors from Guild Wars Prof.-EotN. The regular armors could be 400 crafting with exotic stats, while the elite armors would require 500 crafting with ascended stats. All the armors are account bound on acquired and allow you to choose what stat set you want on it.
Hell you could even earn these armors in the form of crafting recipes from the large boss fights we have like Shadow Behemoth, Shatterer, Tequatal, etc.
If they do this then for the love of god don’t just stretch the armor out on the races other than humans. Add little special things that fit on the different races so that it doesn’t have terrible clipping issues.
This would be something that finally gets me, and i’m sure many others, into trying to achieve 500 crafting.
Why not just use your speed buffs? That’s how we got around to places in Guild Wars. I’ve never understood the mount craze in mmo games when you could just make yourself go faster with buffs.
Wow . . . it’s times like this I don’t regret choosing the technically “bald” hairstyle for my Charr. It’s the one option that imo looks normal for them.
I just can’t imagine anyone who would look at these designs and possibly think to themselves “Hmm you know what? I think people will like that ridiculous huge hairstyle that looks silly. In fact let’s give the male Charr 3 new silly hairstyles every time for kittens and giggles.”
I’m curious why this particular precursor does not have a non – precursor look alike? For a long time a non – precursor version of this rifle could have only been obtained as the plated rifle in PvP and now since that’s no longer an option will Anet put in a regular exotic version of it? I’ve always wanted have this rifle for my warrior and now my engineer but it seems the only way I can currently get it is by using the mystic forge or getting a lucky drop.
Thoughts anyone?

Lots of bosses, skill point challenges, and story events have an underwater combat feature. To take that away soley on opinion would be silly.
And as far as wvw is concerned, you would have gobs of people hiding in the water because now it just became a safe zone for players. Filling up the water with solid ground would also take an excessive amount of time and effort on anet’s behalf that could have been spent patching more important things and working on new content.
If you don’t like it then don’t go in the water.
