HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]

To clarify: $50 is the price of the expansion. We included the core game as a free bonus to make it easier for new players to get into it.

I think that this is great for new players! However I think this is inconsiderate to everyone else. Especially if what we expect is true, and that is that HoT, being an expansion, will be smaller content wise than the original game at launch. Meaning that we are paying more for an expansion of lesser content than we would pay for the original of greater content now.

Even if that’s not true, I think it would have been a far better idea to offer a Hot upgrade to existing accounts for say.. $35 bucks for the standard. Then offer the expansion with the core game bundle for $50 or $60 for the standard edition.

I think that sounds pretty fair to all parties involved.

Combat running speed

For one it’s in there so that when you fight, you can’t run out of aoe’s or attacks as easily, which is pretty important actually…

Well that actually makes sense but doesn’t change the fact that it’s still annoying. Not saying that was what you were trying to do, just saying that while you answered the question I posed, my other point still remains the same.

I thnk it would be better if they found a healthy median between combat and running speed and increased the area affected by AoE spells. Both problems fixed, yeah?

I wouldn’t say so, since larger AoE’s could – for example – take up whole points in PvP, thus making you unable to stay in there at all if you don’t want to take damage.

I agree that the slower movement speed is annoying, but this gives you more of a incentive not to get hit or to use blocks. Try to make the best of it.

This is already the case. Many, even most maybe are large enough to take up the whole node, or point. Some are large enough to engulf the point. And the ones that aren’t probably have a trait somewhere that can make the AoE bigger so that it does.

I can see better now what this mechanic was intended for… but I don’t at all see it as necessary nor do I think how annoying it is to be dismissable or negligible to the point that exploring alternatives shouldn’t be considered.

New lvling system - discussion

" No weapon swapping till 7. No access to POI, vistas, skill points, and tp. Whilst the new system has its faults and problems. If implemented correctly, it can be a better system. For now, a very flawed & problematic system.

I agree that some stuff they did for the new leveling system was good, while others are quite the opposite. However I recently checked on my level 2 character and found I was able to get POIs and vistas at least. I didn’t try any skill points at that level but I would agree that you should be able to try it if you’d like. It’s supposed to be a challenge after all.

It’s freaking irritating! I try to run past some mobs, one hits me while I pass, and suddenly my character can only move at 1mph. How does that make sense? I’d jog calmly and start sprinting when the monsters shows up, not the other way around!

EXACTLY!! THANK YOU! Any movement impairing effect in a game is annoying in general. Being rooted, feared, stunned, knocked down… I understand its a necessary piece of the puzzle to have crowd control, but reduced movement speed while in combat is like a constant movement impairment the whole time you’re in combat. Don’t even get me started on perma blind. Running around like a slug for 6 minutes or something ridiculous like that just because some mob got ya as you ran by…

I really, REALLY sincerely hate that when in combat my movement speed is reduced. This is so irritating to me and doesn’t make sense. When my character is fighting for his life he is suddenly less motivated to move with the same haste he had when running up to chop down a small tree. What?

I wondered if it has something to do with PvP or something but I have never experienced this in any other game’s PvP and that aside can still not think of a good reason for this.

Anyone else feel this way or understand the reason behind it?

A need for Change

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

When I first heard of GW2, I was so excited that I checked for new news on the game regularly, and I say that intentionally to be vague about just how often it really was. I watched the same gamescon gameplay videos on youtube over and over. When the game finally was released after 2 years or so of this (sad I know) I loved it and had a lot of fun. It had its kinks to work out but it was brand spanking new! The game had so much potential I couldn’t wait to see it in a year or two.

Since then I have watched the game evolve while at the same time not really change at all. I watched a community go from very positive, excited and pro ArenaNet to very disappointed, unsatisfied and pretty much contemptuous towards Anet. It’s concerning and I worry now about the future of this game.

The community cries out because they notice that the game is not where it should be. They want change, they offer ideas, they voice opinions and give feedback but don’t feel like they are ever heard. This is partly because there is seldom a response from Anet on the forums but more to blame is that many things have been asked for or brought up but the changes that are seen often are things no one wanted or needed.
The developers haven’t had it easy either. The pressure of the bi-weekly updates was not something they were completely prepared for. Even worse, the content they were able to put out was often unappreciated by the community which can be very disheartening.

Some of the changes to the game have left it feeling broken to many including the targeted audience (referring to the trait system and early leveling). Some changes have been great and really added polish to the game such as the wardrobe and dye system and the new trading post UI (even if it took 2 years to fix). While their most loyal audience, those that have been there from the start, have been left waiting for something new to experience.

I am a passionate fan of GW2 and sincerely hope that the powers that be at Anet will take a few steps back and a good hard listen to the passionate community they have. I hope that they can reprioritize their content development goals and rethink the way they communicate with their community and fans.

Dye templates would be really nice. I’ve posted about this before, too. This and trait templates are great QoL features that could be added and also be fairly used to generate revenue for ArenaNet. Give each player 2 or 3 templates for both Dyes and Traits per character. If the player wants more templates, buy another template slot on the gem store.

Can we be honest for a second?

Playing devil’s advocate here…but why should Anet care of the Veteran Players, they been around a long time and has amass tons of gold to convert to Gems. The veterans are not making Anet money, it’s the newblood (like China). Heck, if anything we are a drain on their resources. It’s all about the $$$$$$$$.

Someone probably already replied to this but this is my thought. When the new players get to 80 and find that there is no more progression horizontal or otherwise they will be in the same boat as the vets. The vets have been playing hoping that as the game matures it will add the missing pieces. The new players will get there and feel that same void but will think “wait isn’t this game 3, 4 years old?” and then THEY will leave the game too.

If Anet wants to make money, they need to add content to the GAME not the gem store and add FEATURE SERVICES to the gem store. Such as purchasing trait templates, dye templates, player housing expansions etc.

As a side note, to any that may feel that posts like this seem entitled, it’s not about “Anet, gimme gimme gimme” it’s about passionate players of a game they love voicing their concerns about something they care about and feeling ignored. There’s my 2 cents.

Living World Rewards

Bolthar.7192

So before the change to the Living World/Living Story releases the player base requested that there be no more grand reward for completing the meta because each episode was temporary and not everyone could achieve the meta in that amount of time. (takes a breather!)

Well now the system has changed to be permanent and playable at any time but the “grand reward” style has been replaced with boring RNG bags. Seems backwards. On one hand we requested this, on the other we requested this due to the nature of the OLD system.

I guess my question is – do we like the reward system for the living story like this?

Living Story = Living World ? & vice versa ?

in Living World

Posted by: Bolthar.7192

Bolthar.7192

You asked, here’s my opinion: The living story is alright. Not AWESOME but it’s a huge improvement from the last season. I like the game having the living story BUT I do not like that it is the focus of the developers and I don’t feel like it makes the world feel “alive” or as “happening” as they wanted it to. The game needs more content and more story than just the living story and personal story. More to do and work towards. Horizontal progression. And this can be done in a way that works WITH the living story and helps to create a bigger sense of a “living world.”

Just to throw it in here, I made a post about adding in small factions with singular purposes such as eliminating the risen or mordrem. Players would gain reputation or favor by killing X type of creature and unlock new item skins recipes maybe even skills or skill points. Do this with the 3 Orders and give them missions that tell a unique side story about the main characters of the Order, their current campaign and politics. Tie some of these mission in with current episode of the living story and bam, horizontal progression, more playable and achievable content, more story supporting the living story and a stronger feeling of the world actually being alive and moving. Not to mention the Orders would finally have a place in the world again outside of the personal story….

Factions and Reputation

Yes please.

This isn’t WoW. We’ll have more things to aim for, and it won’t restrict us at all (Functionally at least). We can have weapon skins and stuff from these factions too, along with runes, possible Armor components, stat sets and more.

EXACTLY! Like I’ve been saying, this game needs more for players to strive for, to achieve. Something similar to this system would provide the players with that. A form of horizontal progression. And YES YES YES on the weapon skins. This game is in dire need of more skins in the game, separate from the gem store. This sort of system would be the perfect way to add in new skins into the game that carry meaning and have origin rather than just being something anyone could have gotten off the TP. And that is something I think this game needs too. Gear that means something. Like the new PvP exclusive gear.

Well it added progression. Like you said it gives you something more to work on. I think Anet could do better though in this game.

It does sound like a rep grind, but I happen to love rep grinds because they add another goal post to shoot for. That’s obviously not a terribly persuasive argument, but there it is.

It is my personal opinion that this game needs more goal posts to shoot for. Legendary items and ascended gear feel like all people have. I hope in the future they add content similar to this in that it gives people more to work towards and achieve. I just hope it’s not too grindy. But hey, people seem to be willing to run the same dungeons and world bosses over and over for 2 years… right?

Factions and Reputation

Bolthar.7192

I am extremely hesitant with this because it smacks of a reputation grind. In that regard, I would have to adamantly disagree. Now, if ANet was able to implement it without using a faction grind, then this could be good. I don’t want to have to grind faction in order to experience content.

Agreed, if Anet did it in their own way, like they tend to do, and made it less grindy it would be great (IMO). If I could expand on the idea:

These factions and the reputation you gain within them would be present from an early level. You would possibly gain rep just by killing whatever their focus is after maybe an initiation “heart” or something (for the sake of establishing with the player a relationship with the faction and knowing what the rep is and to who). Reward tiers would open up and possibly offer unique crafting mats and recipes for crafting items with unique gear themed to that faction or even uniquely skinned gear plain and simple. As more dragons arise, a relative faction would too to deal with the minions while the major players, Vigil, Priory, Whispers, deal with the dragons themselves.

The 3 Orders would possibly have missions or campaigns you could accept (similar to the living story) that would tell a story relative to that Order, its goals, key players and politics. These stories could sometimes coincide with the Living Story to hint at what is to come in the next episode or show a little more insight from the prospective of different philosophies. Missions of each Order could be available to the players regardless of which Order the player chooses in their living story. That choice maybe could offer bonus rep gain for that Order per mission, reduced costs and special privileges.

Some of the characters we meet from the Orders (Tybalt, Sieran, Forgal) could be learned about in low level missions prior to working with them in the story mission.

That’s kinda how I first imagined it.

WOW, that was an extensive post. Like most who will or have already read that, I agree with a large percent of it. Not all of it, but most of it are excellent QoL features that would make the game 100x more polished. I guess my ideas are less QoL features and more content based, aside from dye and trait templates. I think the game could use content more than QoL at the moment anyways but like I said, most of the listed features on your post would improve the game QUITE a lot. I am impressed.

A thought on End Game

Bolthar.7192

Having items unique to specific content is not a bad idea. The way it was implemented in the previous iteration of the living story was not ideal because the opportunity to get the item was limited. Now that the living story is permanent and unlockable to those who missed it there should be a unique item given for completing each episode or every other. Currently there is only the back piece which is extensive and expensive and seems more aimed at the less casual players. There needs to be more to work towards and achieve for the casual players too.

Add in reputation gains for the Vigil, Priory and Order of Whispers with gear unlockable at different reputation tiers and missions that tell side story about each order. Add WvW and dungeon exclusive gear into the game like the new PvP exclusive gear and release new sets in seasons. This sort of content keeps the player busy working towards something they do not have and do not have to be a hard core player to achieve. They just have to play their favorite content to earn rewards to show for it.

A thought on End Game

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Bolthar.7192

Some are satisfied with the end game in GW2, some are not. It is what you make it but with that said it could be made better. I don’t believe the problem with end game in GW2 is that there are no raids or that there is no gear grind. The gear grind is a good thing to see gone and I’m not sure how well a raid would work in the stack zergging gameplay of GW2.

Anet doesn’t believe the game should change once you hit max level. Why should the player have to level 80 times to get to the “real” game? This is a good mindset but with a problem. The game IS different once you get to 80. While leveling the player gets a sense of progression. The player explores new maps and unlocks new skills. Once you hit 80, it doesn’t take long to have explored the whole map and unlocked all the skills. The progression seems to stop nearly.

We can say that there is crafting ascended armor and farming legendary weapons. But this stuff is extensive and more for “hardcore players.” We could say there are dungeons and world bosses to be done, but these are things you repeat over and over again with nothing new to gain. There is no new dungeon gear in 2 years and world bosses reward the player with a few items that the player will sell or salvage. I say this all to say that the problem in my eyes is the lack of horizontal progression at end game. Casual and hard core players alike need more than legendary weapons to work towards and achieve in an MMO.

who cares? they already know what they are going to do for the next one.

on the plus side, they chose “Guilds” as their next CDI…..so that may result in good features in subsequent feature packs (a year or 2 from now).

Well I cares, for one. First of all, it’s fun to put out ideas for features that I think could improve the game. Second, if enough people show interest in something I believe the chance it is implemented is higher than if no one does. I know a lot of people are discouraged by now with the lack of exciting features or improvements in the current feature pack, the absence of Anet voice on the forums and the lack of expected staple features, horizontal progression and all that… but the games not over yet. Besides.. Gamers can be dreamers too

What are 3 features that you wish the most?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

(1) Trait and Dye Templates – Anet makes money here, give players 2 or 3 templates per character for dyes and for traits, then if the players wants more they can buy them on the gem store per character! Everyone’s happy!

(2) Factions and Reputation – 2 new factions at least, on dedicated to clearing the risen, one to the mordrem. These in addition to the main 3 (Vigil, Priory, Whispers) Orders would have quartermasters offering rewards at different reputation tiers. The main 3 Orders would also have missions offering side story and a REAL feeling of involvement in the order the player joined. Adds story, loot, achievement, depth and life to the game.

(3) WvW and Dungeon exclusive gear, like the new PvP exclusive gear idea. Then add new gear for each of these game types in seasons. Adds more gear to the game (not gemstore) gives the players something to work towards and keep working towards and something to show for their time and efforts. Not to mention something to show off

I think that would be my 3 if I had to pick. That was fun.

(1)A developer did mention interest in having a trait template system in the game a while back (month or two) so hopefully we can expect that. It seems like an obvious staple in a game like this. Honestly, even if the dev didn’t say anything I would expect it. After 2 years I’m sorta surprised it hasn’t made its way into the game already. There is so much potential profit in it for Anet. Give the players 2 or three templates per character then let them buy more templates on the gem store per character if they want more. Same with (2)dye templates.

I would love to see more factions in Tyria. Currently there are the races and the Vigil/Priory/Whispers orders but none of them play a real part in the game Beyond the personal story.

Now that Zhaitan is defeated and the Mordrem have sprouted, why not introduce some factions in the game that players can find in various zones and help out for reputation and tiered rewards from faction quartermasters. The two most obvious factions would be one dedicated to thinning the risen from the world and one dedicated to thinning the mordrem.

I think this would add some life into Tyria as well as give players more to do in the form of reputation to earn and rewards to unlock for purchase.

I would also like to see this reputation idea added to the current Orders (Vigil/Whispers/Priory). They play such a small part. Why not add missions the player can do that offers side story about the orders and their campaigns and the parts they play in the world outside of the personal story. This would add more life in the game, more story and allow the player to really feel like they are a part of whatever order they joined. Not to mention give players more content to explore and things to achieve.

Anyways, here’s to the future:

(1)Trait Templates
(2)Dye Templates
(3)Trading Post Overhaul (weight and back item filters)
(4)New armor and weapons added to the game (not gem store) from levels 1 to 80(this should be done more often and is much needed)
(5)WvW exclusive armor and weapon set
(6)Dungeon exclusive armor and weapon set
(7)Fractal exclusive armor and weapon set
(8)Vigil/Whispers/Priory Order Reputation, missions, quartermaster with new armor and weapon sets available at different reputation tiers. (these guys need to play more of a part in the every day world!)
(9)Gear sets craftable with unique world boss items
(10)Player Housing

Back Item Concept

Now… I am not a graphical artist by a LONG shot, but I threw together an idea I had for a back item. It’s not a cape but it could help in satisfying those who want them.

The idea is a clasp of some sort parallel with the characters back that holds a draping cloth material.

If it were implemented, I imagine there being different variations of it where the clasp was different ranging in detail and splendor and the drape with different patterns, color, and a guild type displaying the guild emblem.

Obviously the drape itself would behave the way the cloth on the heavy human cultural leg pieces does or any dangling cloth bits on present back pieces such as fractal and Zephyrite catchers.

So, what do you all think!?

I liked that you were constantly earning points that you could spend when you played PvP – THAT I liked about the glory system. Some people are gonna disagree with me on this, but I hated that you had to spend your points on RNG boxes rather than pick an item you wanted and buy it with the points you saved up. That’s what I’d like to see.

Not to say “do away with the current reward track system” but rather add the glory vendor system in addition to it. Make the gear cost a lot of glory, doesn’t need to be easy. The point of the armor in my opinion is to reward the players that REALLY PvP. Let them have something to show for it.

Let me first say.. I am pretty excited about the new reward track being added in September. I have been posting about giving PvP and the other game modes exclusive gear sets for a while, I’m stoked that Anet is finally doing it.

I am wondering, though, is it best that it’s done as a reward track? One of my personal gripes in PvP is that if it were to be a players favorite content to play, it ceases to be rewarding to the player after your reward track caps.

The thought occurred to me – why not have glory as a currency again in PvP and purchase the pieces of PvP exclusive armor that way. Then once you cap your reward track, you can still play knowing your progressing towards your PvP set.

As a side note, I hope Anet releases new PvP exclusive gear in seasons or something as well as add something similar for the other content (dungeons and WvW). Also I hope that if they do… they create different skins and not recycle the PvP stuff like they did the dungeon gear for PvP.

Anyways, would this be preferable to you? do you think this would be a bad idea? Let me know.

I think 11 is too soon for some people but 20 is much better than 30. Even level 15 to start would be better.

Yeah 15 or 20 would be way better. Do you think it would be better spread out if tiers were unlocked at 25, 50 and 75?

What I like about the last tier unlocking at 80 is it makes your character feel like level 80 means something and opens up your character even more. Like the final level of vertical progression. But I’m not sure that it’s worth it.

On the other hand… with the way the game is currently set up, adding an expansion would have a very strange effect with the LS. The story would obviously expand into the new areas of the game opened up by the expansion and players that haven’t purchased the expansion would not be able to be a part of this. I suppose they would still unlock the episode… and that is kinda the nature of an expansion so.. but an interesting consideration that I’m sure ANet has thought of.

also @Papryk, buying gems is the only way of supporting the game and ANet. If you stop buying gems the game would eventually be in danger, possibly to the point that they can’t even make and expansion.

But I feel that if the hearts could take on a different form they could be worth a lot more. My main reason for wanting to see more of them is because I think they have the potential to offer more lore and side story to the game. Again, as you’ve said the current design makes it possible to complete the heats without every talking to the NPC so the current design of the heats would need to be altered. I would love to see more DEs in the game and for them to expand more but I would also like to see more story to each map that explores the present story as well as the lore and history of that map.

I want to start a friendly discussion on the idea of an expansion to GW2.

As far as we know ArenaNet has no plans for an expansion and hopes to replace expansions with the Living Story. The LS progresses the story of the game and in the first season added temporary content in the form of a couple dungeons, some mini games and events, some that stuck and many that left as soon as the LS installment ended. The first season also gave us one new map. Season 2 just started and we’ll just have to wait and see what happens but as it stands now, after 2 years, the core game has not grown really at all. I believe strongly that ANet CAN bring everything that an expansion would bring through the LS, but if that is what they are going to do ultimately.. they will have to step it up a lot in what the episodes bring to the game as far as content.

With that said, I think ANet should do an expansion. An expansion could expand the world of the game, hopefully introduce another class and perhaps another playable race, new dungeons and just a lot more content. The LS can do this too, but much slower IMO. An expansion would also make news on gaming websites and probably bring a lot more new and pre-existing players to the game. It would also bring in revenue for the game and company which is key to the success of this game. Personally I would be more than willing to pay for an expansion, especially if it meant supporting the company and the game and adding new content. And I think most of the community would feel the same.

Adding an expansion could have some negative effects as well. One being that opening up a large new mass of the map could cause a lot of the current maps to become less populated. BUT, with the megaserver and new players I think this wont be that much of a problem. ANet could do a lot to prevent this anyways just by adding new features to the game that promote returning to existing content. For example adding Orders (priory, vigil, whispers) missions that promote existing content or adding unique skins from specific content such as dungeons and world bosses could encourage players to spread out throughout all of the world.

Here is a video that inspired me to make this post. It says a lot of what I said and a lot more:

I Gave Up On This Game Am I Wrong?

The definition of insanity is repeating the same actions over and over and expecting different results.

After almost 2 yrs of GW2 being out – it’s pretty clear what direction the game is going.

If you like it – great.

If you don’t – Find another game. I happen to follow this ideal. As much as I wanted to like GW2 – in the end it simply didn’t offer enough content or depth to keep me interested.

I check back now and again to see if something interesting is going on but for the most part GW2 is just another icon on my desktop now.

The game is not going to fundamentally change. So, threads like this are nothing more then wasted time.

Threads like these are only a waste of time to individuals that read through them only to complain that they were there to be read. The poster is has every right to express how they feel. They were a long time fan and customer of Arena Net’s product and feel let down by what the company has done or hasn’t done. If you don’t like a game, sure don’t play it. But if you like a game, feel or felt passionately about that game but are disappointed in how it’s panned out, by all means express yourself. There shouldn’t be anything wrong with people expressing themselves about things they are passionate about.

From release until now the game has changed very little in overall design.

Once could easily assume then the direction of the game.

Them not liking it is understandable but, Thinking a forum post has any impact at all on Anet’s direction for GW2 is laughable.

The game is what it is.

And perhaps the OP’s intention isn’t to have an impact on the direction of the game but rather just to express their opinions. That aside, some changes have been made to the game based on player input. As an example I offer the world boss event timers.

Hearts and Quests

GW2’s version of quests was basically the Hearts on the maps. In addition to these there was the dynamic events. You are encouraged run around and just explore the world.. see the things happening around you (the events) and take part in making a difference. Well.. Dynamic events are really nice and do aid in making the world feel like it’s moving or “living” they rarely change and while new ones have been added, they are few and far between – usually just part of some LS release.

The Hearts were nice because they offered the players a destination to where something can be done, and the player rewarded. On top of that the player could complete these tasks in more than one way. The problem with the hearts was that there weren’t many of them and the rewards were minimal and uncompelling. Regardless, I liked the hearts being a part of the game.

My question to everyone else would be then, did you like the hearts in the game and would you prefer there to be more. Personally I would. I think they are easier to create than dynamic events and could offer more content to the game, more for the players to do, a great opportunity to tell a side story or two in each map and explore the history of the lore, reward the player with new skins and real rewards and offer new ways to make gold without rerunning the same contentment over and over and over.

Essentially I’m saying that I like what ANet did with quests and would like to see more of it. I don’t think it would ruin the game. Leveling up is easy enough that doing this content wouldn’t be necessary it would just be extra content that would be fun and interesting and tell map specific stories while offering the players more skins and looks to choose from at lower levels.

Thoughts?

It’s interesting to read these sorts of threads. I usually agree with most of the points made. I didn’t play the original GW but I can understand the disappointment in GW2. I am mostly hopeful for the future of the game and am enjoying it still, but I can’t help but want to cry out for change and new content beyond a new chapter of story. When the story is over players need more to do than stand at the TP or GRIND for a Legendary. The game seems to be based around aesthetics at end game, collecting new skins, but the only new skins going into the game seems to be through the gem store. ANet’s gotta make money but they need to get players invested in the game before they will invest in the gem store. I think thats partly my beef. Getting a new look is super exciting but the methods of doing so feel limited. It’s too easy to stand in LA and not have anything to do. Capped out in PvP and glory points don’t get you anywhere anymore… can’t make myself do another dungeon for the millionth time… nothing going on in WvW… now what? (for the record that was rhetorical :P)

Any OFFICIAL word on player housing? (please)

I don’t think player housing would be a waste of time. The games end game is story and aesthetics. Players playing the game to acquire new skins would not be much different than players playing the game to acquire new things for their home. It would give players more to do in the game than work on legendarys and offer a great opportunity to Arena Net to monetize and make some money for the company.

Game does not reward healers

while there is no trinity and ANet wants to discourage players from taking roles in the game, some events would fail if there wasn’t someone trying to rez all the people that are downed. I, too, have found myself in that situation where I try to participate in an event but so many people are going down I have to rez them or we all fail. Then when the event ends I only get bronze if anything while feeling almost solely responsible for the success of the event. It would be nice to be recognized by the game for this.

Trading Post: "Error attempting to sell"

They made it do that on purpose. No other game that I have played does this but for some reason it is necessary in this game. I guess it’s supposed to prevent the trading post from crashing or something, but it just annoys the crap out of most of us.

Big Improvment

All in all, I really like what they’ve done with the second season. What I love the most is the periodic sand storms, though I would rather them just happen without warning rather than have a timer on the side letting me know when to expect it. Anyways, I feel like it makes everything just a bit more engaging. The sand blowing off the dunes, the sand storms, the quick sand, the dark cave… all a very nice improvement to see and really helps to make an engaging atmosphere.

I am a bit disappointed that the map is so rampant with the need to be jumping all over the place, but I get it. I was also disappointed that the map was so small. I had hoped for a normal sized map to be released all at once. I really had hoped that they would add more than just one zone actually and maybe add a whole section of the map…

I liked at first all the rewards I was getting from completing the LS but was disappointed to see that all the achievements at the end of the episode were so ..boring and without much variety.

This is only the first episode of the second season and who knows what’s still in store. Perhaps the second episode and each episode after will fulfill some of what feels missing so far. Either way, I am enjoying what I’m seeing and hope to see some of these atmospheric improvements to the map implemented in other preexisting maps.

The struggle for Legendaries... or is it?

It is my opinion that people pursue legendary weapons because it is one of the few items in the game that means something. They say you have accomplished something large.

This is why I wish ANet would add content locked armor and weapon skins for PvP, Dungeons and WvW and release new sets in seasons. Then players can work toward something else that shows achievement by doing the content they enjoy the most.

Transmutation charges!!!

Actually, I don’t think the cost for the charges is that bad. However I do think they should change the prices on some stuff in the game. I think if they lowered the prices for a lot of the stuff in the gem store people might be more willing to spend gems in the store because they will feel like they get more out of their money.
