I have been in the map before but it was on the wrong level so the wp’s were greyed out. Duh! I actually have 2/3 wp’s, probably almost half of the map. Must have got out of bed on the wrong side. Also when I was on that morning there were no groups, no one, to teleport to. But it’s all good now just I don’t have time to play for a few days.
Progress the story, use a WP, use a teleport to friend stone, or use the teleport scroll. All viable options to gain entry to the map.
You can’t do any of these except teleport to a friend unless you are actually in the map. The WP are not available from outside the map. The teleport scrolls can only be purchased in that map. And if there is no one willing to taxi you teleport to a friend is not an option. It’s ridiculous. I just logged out & other people did too.
Whoever thought to make access to Mons Draconis so difficult is stupid. When I’m online there are no groups or anyone offering to taxi people. And you have to be in the map to obtain a portal scroll for it! Absolutely ridiculous! Only other option is to restart the map & scrap any progress you’ve already made. Sucks big time! Wake up to yourselves Anet. This is a really idiotic idea restricting access to a map. This morning I wanted to get into the map to at least buy a druid runestone but haven’t been able to even get into the map.
Mons Draconis is good looking. Just had an hour or so there yesterday but can’t get back into it today. Whoever thought to make it so difficult to access needs their butt kicked. How about opening up access to the map so we can play it.
I’m on the EU server. I did arrive at the first event about 10-15 minutes early & when it started I could see it wasn’t going well & people were leaving so when the pop-up came I took the chance to move. The situation was the same on each map. I spent 15 minutes fighting Tequatl & ended up with nothing. The same time happened earlier today with another boss & it has happened a couple of other times this week. It seems there’s less people at many of the boss events this week.
I’m disappointed with the way boss events are going. There aren’t enough people on many of the maps to complete the events so nobody gets any loot. I was asked 4 times to move to another map during Tequatl this evening which I did & then by the time I got to the 5th map the event had finished so I didn’t get anything at all. I would have been better off farming mats somewhere, anywhere. The same thing happened earlier in the day with other bosses. Many people must be leaving Tyria to play HoT. Is Tyria going to be forgotten? Is it possible to offer people the option to change maps sooner so that there are more people for boss events. I moved 4 times & still missed out completely.
basically auto-attack sucks. When you think you are attacking something it goes & attacks another npc way behind which isn’t even involved in the fight. It should attack the nearest aggroed npc not something grazing in the distance. It’s like a lot of things in games…. totally illogical.
This has been a problem since last night on Seafarer’s Rest for me. The game just gets indefinitely stuck on the queensdale loading screen.
Me too! Can’t log in to Queensdale on Seafarer’s Rest. Other characters in other areas are ok. Only the one in Queensdale is a problem.
Just tried my wife’s account & she has the same problem. Her other avas can log in ok but the one in Queensdale can’t. The program just hangs at the splash screen. This is on Seafarer’s Rest.
A month ago I upgraded XP to Win 8 because of the crashes I was having. Everything was running well for a month. Only had 4 or 5 crashes in that time. Then Anet brought out a new update and what happens. Crash! Crash! Crash! It doesn’t matter what I try the crashes are getting more frequent. Today I’ve had about 12. I tried all the fixes when I was running XP & nothing worked. I’ve tried with Win 8 & I’m thinking that probably I’d have to format & re-install everything. Anet doesn’t care cos they’re still getting people paying their money. The only way to make them take notice is to start posting the error reports on their FB page where everyone can see them.
The ancient shark skill challenge in Sparkfly Fen is bugged. The shark is floating above the roof of the cave & can’t be activated from inside the cave. It can be seen above the ground.
are you sure its crashing the whole system, or it it just a black screen crash that you can only exit by forcing the task manager up by using ctrl+alt+del and pressing task manager?
It does both. Sometimes I can get task manager up but other times the whole machine locks up & then have to hard reboot. I’m just about to log in & see how it goes today.
I made no changes to my computer & now I’ve just finished 45 minutes of play including a couple of events & no crash. The only thing that has changed is the room is a little cooler now so it could have been an over-heating problem. But previously I tried all the recommended fixes & they have made no change for the better. The 3g swiitch for the boot log made the graphics a lot worse. The other suggestions made little or no difference.
And again another crash within 20 mins of the last. It seems since this latest update there are more crashes than before. I’ve previously tried all of the “fixes” in Part 5 without any success which further supports my assertion that it is not my computer but GW2 causing the problems.
Well since I started this thread less than an hour ago it has crashed x 2 again. I don’t believe it is due to any of the issues that you mention, Kirito. I don’t have this problem with any other program. My computer is quite capable of rendering HD video without crashing & runs other games ok. I think it is due to app incompatibility issues which Anet & Microsoft should have sorted out by this time. Anet delayed the launch of GW2 by a couple of years in order to sort out such issues. Together with all the bots running about it’s getting to be a real pain. If I had bought this from a local store I would have taken it back & got a refund as I’ve done in the past.
I keep having crashes at start-up & at random times throughout the game. There’s really no logical or rational way to predict them. I’ve up-dated drivers & tried various “fixes” but nothing has made a difference. I can’t remember having seen a blue screen crash since XP updated to SP3 which was years ago. I was thinking “wow! MS have finally got their act together” then along comes GW2. And then when you do get it running for a while you have to compete with all the bots.
Tried to start up the client & instead of Character Select got a screen that was half blue & half yellow. The icons in the front were visible so I went ahead & clicked “Play”. It started to load then crashed causing a blue screen.
I checked which files where included in the error report to MS but once the error report was sent they must have been deleted. I recently updated my Nvidia drivers.
I still think this game will qualify for the Buggiest game of the decade.
The past week or so I’ve noticing frequent error reports as I log out. The game hasn’t crashed, just generates an error report on Log Out. I’ve sent them in.
I’m in Mount Maelstorm on Kaineng server & it looks like there is no one else on the server then I see a large group of players in an event then they all, or most disappear, just vanish when the event finishes. If I try to follow any of them they jump back & forth & then disappear. What is happening?
Hello, Long time user of the game but barely play anymore due to work but today I finally played over 30 minutes and actually got 42k karma finally. I went to the orr area and bought the helm from the karma vendor but it was not the correct one. Where can I refund it at, i logged out after the mistake in hopes there is a option. Sadly, if there isn’t a option to refund and get my 42k karma back to purchase the correct helm I am done with this game. Hope gw2 staff can help me out.

c0000005 error often is due to some sort of driver issue or 3rd party overlays interfering. (see Part 5.5)
Noticed your drivers is half a year old, should try updating them. (See Part 1.1)
Nvidia says they are the latest drivers for my card & I haven’t been running Mumble or any other overlays. I’ll check tho & make sure something is not running in the background. Thx.
You didn’t post any system spec or log files or error codes. (see Part 1.2)
So best guess based on your story is “Out of Memory” crashes. (see Part 5.2 for workaround/fix)

I’ve been checking & trying different fixes. I appear to have 2 issues. One is when on log-in the Character Select screen doesn’t load. The computer stops responding & I have to hard boot it.
The other issue is in-game crashes. They occur randomly often when teleporting or during a battle but have even occurred when I just move the mouse pointer. Whenever possible I send the reports off. I’ve checked my drivers are up-to-date as is DirectX. I tried the /3g switch but couldn’t log in so went back to my original boot settings. I’ve just run the Game Advisor & the test results are attached below. Also the latest error report.
Game has crashed twice now in the middle of a personal story instance. It’s a bit annoying when you’re 25 minutes into the instance & have to start again. I’ll be taking a break & probably will play Entropia Universe later.
I’ve just applied the recommended change to Maximum frame rate in the Nvidia settings so I’ll see if that makes any difference.
ok, 2 days without 1 crash. I solved changing the boot options to load windows with 3GB. Really tnx squall!!!

I don’t see any option that can be changed to 3gb & can’t find anything in the how-to guides on-line. Or is this option only available in Win 7?

I’ve found the switch to add to the boot.ini. Will try it soon & see if the game runs more stable.

Well I tried the boot.ini fix & I couldn’t run the game at all, just got a black screen when I logged in. Rebooted in my old boot options & it seems to be ok, played 2 hours without a crash… so far.
I have 3-4 game crashes every 5-6 hours of play. I don’t think it is my machine. I haven’t had another game crash it in 3-4 years. I even had a couple of blue screens of death which I haven’t had since updating XP to SP3 when it first came out years ago. I thought I had finally got a stable MS system but then along came GW2.
There is no surer way of driving people away from a game than to have it crash all the time. I probably would have played another 4-6 hours today if it wasn’t for crashes.
This game will probably be high on the top 10 list of buggiest games of the decade.
And I do report my crashes when I can but the worst are usually not reportable as they freeze the computer & there’s no way to generate a report log.

What I found a problem was that I was aggroing everything else in the area so had to take out other stuff first but some times they were re-spawning before I’d finished the ventari which was crap. Also more presents would be nice. afterall it is Wintersday.
Just had a change of heart after my first encounter with the dolls. Way too hard for lvl 30. I got killed quickly. rezzed & came back & wipe them but all I got for my trouble was a gear & it cost 1.7 to rez. Sux! It’s supposed to be a festival, a good time.
