Why Anet likes WvW Seasons

A. By having lots of major guilds buying gems to move to your server.
B. Players buying gems to get into a higher populated server.
C. Lucky enough to already be in a “winning” server.

WvW seasons are not server tournaments. It is a to boost gem sales.

Lots of stealth, blindness, gap closing, and still getting decent damage.

I guess i’m a cheese thief but it’s fun to play.

I don’t understand all the paranoid and xenophobic reactions to the megaserver.

Use your server’s community website to retain that sense of community.

And when all else fails you can always ask the individual(s) “What server are you from?”

They need to add a Gem cost for posting on this forum. The forum moderators do a heck of a great job here responding to the community and locking inappropriate threads. They deserve to be paid more!

They could maybe afford a Dev to take a look at that darn Search box at the top of the forum that’s been mocking me all this time too.

Megaserver coming out tomorrow. No point in transferring servers after that except for WvW.

Something like how GW1 was able to somehow do 16 different guild hall maps for GvG?

Imagine that on a much grander scale for WvW!

Could have Pros/Cons for each world map or put it on a rotation with lower rank servers having a slight advantage & higher ranked servers having to fight a little harder to stay on top.

I like how the major argument against different maps is “one Bl will inevitably have an unfair advantage somehow”…because, you know, tactics play such a huge part in WvW when most match-ups are coverage and/or Blob Vs Blob.

Sorry to hear you aren’t enjoying it. I’d most likely change servers where I in your situation. Check out the wvw recruitment section of the forum and find one that sounds promising or just come join us on Northern Shiverpeaks – I know you’ll have a different experience on our server.

I’ve seen a lot of new faces in WvW lately and I always make an effort to invite them to party or at least engage them. I don’t mind running around with the Nerd Herd every now and then but most of the time I’m with a small group just running around causing trouble.

It takes a lot of map awareness and teamwork but it can be so much fun taking on larger groups or using a small group to stealing a tower/keep in an enemy bl while the other two servers are occupied on the other side of the map.

Unless I’m really misunderstanding it, your matchups will be as follows (based on current scoring)

Week 2:
Week 1 Tier 3/4/5 winners: FA, YB, HoD
2nd place: SBI, BP, NSP
3rd place: IoJ, SoR, CD

(and guessing those outcomes of Wk 2 matches)
Week 3:
Winners: FA, SBI, IoJ
2nd place: HoD, NSP, CD
3rd place: YB, BP, SoR

So matchups won’t really change much beside tier mainly because of my guesstimates of the fallout of SoR and BP losing a lot.

So basically, starting week 3 – the 2nd and 3rd place finishers between FA/YB/HoD will get another blow out match and then those three will face each other again? gg anet. Much better design this season.

We have looked over your thread. We took it to mean you guys were too serious for us, please forgive us if this is a misconception of ours.

Perhaps you could answer these questions as an opener for us:

How well would our small group of 15 fit into the WvW scene?
Do you think your server would support our crazy events? What kind of WvW events do you already have?
If you could change 1 thing about your server, what would it be?

I will say our WvW Events while fun are still for the most part WvW focused meaning we do try to accomplish things while doing the events. Aside from 1 event (this event is only for about 2 hours and the goal is fun above all else) we do we are focused on doing good for the server.

Don’t take my server cheer leading and smack talking to seriously

Small groups of 15 are NSP’s specialty! We have 2 or 3 "big"* WvW focused guilds and more recently we have gotten some large guilds into WvW that were previously more PVE oriented. But yes – There are plenty of small(er) groups on NSP that are always doing their own thing.

Not familiar with your crazy events but we love to have fun. We have to because it isn’t about “winning”. If you are more concerned about winning you would do better on FA or SBI. Tell me more about your crazy events!

I <3 NSP. #NSPpride. I’m not sure what I would change but if I had to pick something it would have to be getting more of our PVE players involved in WvW. We have already gotten some and the new community website and community TS3 server has played a huge part in that.

edit: even our “big” WvW focused guilds are not 100% WvW. They do guild nights and other events outside of WvW but when they have their WvW nights they are still only about 30-40 of them. That’s a big WvW guild for NSP at the moment but still small to some other servers.

Make no mistake. NSP is not for everyone. If your guild is just looking for some easy wins and the final score at the week is really important to you – you will not want to be on NSP.

The players still on NSP and the ones transferring here are the type of players that play games on “hard-mode”. Not to be confused with hard-core, serious, get your act together or gtfo. The players here are here because they enjoy being challenged and don’t get frustrated or give up because “omg they have so many zerglings”.

Can’t believe there are still so many players staying on servers with ridiculously long queue times, unplayable skill lag, or versus opponents that are non-existent. You should be here where the action is!
