Northern Shiverpeaks definitely has a challenge ahead of them but we will fight.
Weapons are being sharpened.
Clones are being spawned.
Thieves are hiding.
Operation: Season 1 Upset has begun.
Any players/guilds looking for a real challenge this season are going to be joining Northern Shiverpeaks before it is too late.
Black Crescent [BC]
An original GW1 guild, crushing noobs since 2005.
PvX
Abbreviation for “Player versus anything”, meaning both PvE and PvP.
Black Crescent is currently recruiting competitive, active players to join us in the upcoming WvW Season Premier on the Northern Shiverpeaks server. We are a guild of primarily adults with jobs and families and as such our activity peaks in the evenings and on weekends.
What Black Crescent offers
- Knowledgeable players/commanders
- Guild Buffs +5% Kill EXP, +10% Gathering Bonus, +10% Magic Find, +5% Gold from Kills.
- Scheduled Guild Events/Missions.
- Private website & forum.
- Private voice server.
- Drama-free.
- Nightly WvW Activity.
What Black Crescent expects
- Must be on Northern Shiverpeaks server.
- Representing We understand many people have other guilds for storage etc. All we ask is that we are your primary guild and that you represent BC for the majority of your playtime.
- Be active We don’t expect you to only play with fellow guildies but make an effort to participate in guild activities be it WvW or Missions or Dungeons, etc.
- TeamSpeak Even if you don’t have a mic.
- Be respectful Don’t dance on bodies and laugh if we win. Don’t yell at members when we lose. It’s easy to get caught up in the game, but don’t let that lead to bad attitudes. We want to play seriously while still having fun!
- Don’t be anti-social We are an active guild that likes to discuss the game as well as help and get to know each other.
Please stop by our site and fill out a very quick, easy >>recruitment app here<< if interested.

Hello!
Through a series of events* NSP will be rising to join the Silver League. And we could use your help!
Players & Guilds on servers that are destined for the Gold League -
- Has every week simply become the same boring game play?
- Is the zergfest simply becoming too predictable?
- Are you looking for more of a challenge?
- Are guildies & friends starting to lose interest in the game out of boredom?
- Not looking forward to 7 weeks of the same?
Players & Guilds on servers destined for the Bronze League -
- Frustrated with the lack of effort from your server?
- Ready for more challenge?
- Want to WvW with people that actually respond when you ask for help?
- Is it time to finally transfer to a higher ranked server?
- Not looking forward to 7 weeks of the same?
Season 1 is about to start!
Now is the time to join Northern Shiverpeaks!!
Northern Shiverpeaks has a very challenging season ahead of them. This year NSP has fluctuated as low as rank 21 and as high as rank 16. NSP has not been higher than rank 16 since last December!
Northern Shiverpeaks has a recognized skilled player base, several large guilds, many smaller guilds, and a ton of dedicated players that have stayed on NSP since the beginning.
Northern Shiverpeaks has had a great turnout on our new community site @ http://northernshiverpeaks.org that was launched barely three weeks ago – showing that this server is alive and has a community that really does care about working together. More and more individual players and entire guilds are using our public TS3 server and working together everyday.
Northern Shiverpeaks wants players & guilds that want a real challenge. More guilds willing to step up to command, train, and rule the battlefield. Players & guilds that have been on the fence about transferring.
If you want to be a part of a Season 1 upset – Northern Shiverpeaks Welcomes You!
edit: Not to leave out anyone in the Silver league but you guys can just stay where you are. We’re coming for you. Just kidding
Bring your mittens and scarves and come join NSP!
Good question. I hope anet answers but we believe the Season doesn’t start until Friday reset.
you should be able to transfer before then and your new server be counted as your home world.
edit: if you are looking for a challenge, come join us on Northern Shiverpeaks!
Was hoping for this one to die and was actually going to start a new one either today or tomorrow but ‘whatthehell’…
NSP is going to be facing a huge challenge in Season 1 being in the Silver league. Any guilds/players that love a challenge are going to want to join us!

^ Thanks for tagging up tonight Doom and thanks for all the fun fights in our BL.
Whatever league NSP ends up in, some of us will be playing and enjoying it the best we can. #NSPPRIDE
for more gems
It’ll be there if you transfer back. Maybe you could get support to send you back since you are correct – It should be more clear before you hit the button in-game.
Your guild and everything you’ve done still exists…on your original server.
Guilds are not tied to any specific world; all players can join any guild regardless of which world they play on. However, influence and guild upgrades are specific to each world: players in the same guild but on different worlds will contribute to separate influence pools and build through separate upgrade trees. Members that transfer will have to regenerate influence and build new upgrades on the new world.
Greetings,
“We have decided to add an area to the Obsidian Sanctum jumping puzzle that is large enough to fit the fights…
Uhm? It just sounds like a giant arena.
It won’t be GvG until you:
- Add Guild Halls
- Add Several GvG Maps (not one large area)
- Add a Guild Ladder
Anet please model after the GvG Basics Guide and give us real GvG again.
I remember /roll
But the true best was:
/paper
/rock
/scissors
Thanks Gaile. Sounds like we’re fine with our straight give-away then.
I’m disappointed about the raffles & lottery tickets though. I know a lot of guilds do that sort of thing. It’s fun to win stuff and get/give congratulations to the winner.
First of all, I think it would be pretty crappy of a guild to cheat their members but I’m sure someone has already and will again…
Second, opening a ticket with anet support about it wouldn’t even cross my mind if that happened to me though.
Last, I think streaming a drawing and using something simple like The Hat is an easy way to help everyone feel the contest was honest.
A 50/50 is where the ‘house’ gets half and the winner gets the other half.
Different topic though.
Searching for an answer, I’ve seen sites like IGN advertise Gem Card giveaways. Just dont want to get in trouble posting anything like that here trying to recruit or promote a site.
Hello,
Is it a violation of GW2 TOS to advertise (in-game or on the forums) a drawing for a chance to win a Gem Card
To help promote our new site and recruit for Northern Shiverpeaks we are doing a drawing for all new members for a chance to win a 2,000 Gem Card!
You must be on Northern Shiverpeaks and you must post in the Introduction thread to qualify. Drawing is Oct 31st.
Put Referred by Boom!
lol. It isn’t that bad. A couple people from the guild that setup the old site brought up a perfectly legitimate point: “why do we need a new site when we already have one?” It’s understandable they didn’t want to see all the time & effort they put into the old site to just be thrown away.
The site admin at northernshiverpeaks.org even turned this question into an article on the front page of the site if you’d like to read his reasoning for a “NSP Reboot”.
NSP is still alive and well. We’ve had a great launch so far with the new site and keep getting more visitors and people coming back. This is a site for the entire NSP community. Hopefully the players/guilds on Northern Shiverpeaks enjoy using it.
Yeah. Screw those guys in t7. We never liked them anyway. Make our own tier!
(edited by Boom.6148)
Maybe you misunderstand. The purpose of the new website is to create a community portal for everyone on NSP that will actually be used. We have had a tremendously successful launch in the last week since the site went active.
Nobody is using that old website or Vent server. Encouraging players to get in a Vent server that nobody is in wasn’t working. Promoting people to come visit a site that they can’t get registered on and has barely had any activity since last April was simply an effort in futility.
It has nothing to do with the popularity of Os. I’m not sure why you even threw that in. When did this become personal? Feel free to PM me here, in-game, or even at northernshiverpeaks.org …if you want to discuss in more detail but please keep this thread free of drama.
Why would people want to do this?
1. Have fun and gain wxp even when your server is in a horrible match-up.
2. Help the underdogs.
3. Outmanned Buff.
4. Easy way to find active people to fight and find people to fight with.
5. Meet new people and kill them.
6. The best part: A brand new Queue that you can Queue in!
These are good reasons for Why you should Xfr to a lower tier server.
I can see how this could be fun and have benefits but I’m not a fan of the idea. It sounds like you are from a high tier server. Just transfer if your getting bored with the state of WvW in your server.
There are a lot of players that might enjoy a mechanic like this but it would be more beneficial having those players actually move to the other servers.
Props to the Engi from [MEAN] I fought in vale last night. good fight.
<— was roaming solo
For those that don’t follow Twitter ~ Twitter Bump from Anet!
Not surprisingly, only a few people have even asked “why a new site?” The old site and vent server are both ghost towns
. Barely any activity on that site since last April and multiples reports of registration issues prompted us to create a shiny, new site to show this server is still alive!
You can also read the site admin’s comments ‘Why a new site?’.
Its unfortunate those tools were not used more but, like I said, much appreciation goes out to all the guys/girls that put it together and kept it up for so long even though it wasn’t being used.
edit: It looks like a few Os members have signed up but really hope to see more of you there. Also, be sure to setup a guild page and use the calendar for any scheduled events!

Please update Northern Shiverpeaks. Our old site died and (in large party thanks to Tequatl) we launched a new site for the community.
The new community site launched for Northern Shiverpeaks launched last week @ northernshiverpeaks.org.
much appreciation to the guys/girls that setup that original site. R.I.P.
Howdy Damashki,
Check out Northern Shiverpeaks new community website at northernshiverpeaks.org. It was just launched last week and so far we’ve had a really great turnout of players & guilds.
You may also like to check out Black Crescent.
Our guild is looking for more competitive, active guilds to join us in Mumble/TeamSpeak.
Black Crescent [BC] is proud to boast that we are an original GW1 guild, small (less than 30 active members), we are fun and casual. We don’t require much (no silly guild dues, mandatory meetings, or play how we say rules!) – just that you are an active player and represent.
Some Small Requirements
- Voice Server BC uses NSP’s public TeamSpeak server but a working mic is not required.
- Representing We understand many people have other guilds for storage etc. All we ask is that we are your primary guild and that you represent BC for the majority of your playtime.
We also have our own website for you to stop by and check us out. Feel free to fill out a very quick, easy >>recruitment app<< while you are there.
Let me know if you have any questions or would like more info.
Hope to see you around!
Great response so far and the site is really coming along!

I like the points but I don’t know that they cause more harm than good. It’s a dual edged sword since it can both motivate as well as crush a server’s morale. I love playing wvw for the fights and generally balance my time between small group roaming & large scale zerg v zerg battles. It’s a lot less fun when its small group v zerg around every corner but it means that you have to adjust your tactics. Accept that you aren’t going to always be able to play the same way, use the same strategy, and have the same experience every match. That would just get dull.
I’m pretty sure blowouts are by design now and to be expected since matchups have that element of randomization but at the same time I think there’s a problem when every matchup this week is a blowout. Sure, some of this weeks blowouts have to do with the Teq Boss but every sever “winning” this week is an average of 4-6 ranks higher than their opponents.
Grats!
We are still making progress on NSP and getting a little better each time. I’m a little obsessed at this point but I’m enjoying how the event has gotten our server to work together and have made some new allies.
…Rewards don’t even come into it…
I am starting to have a feeling I’m going to be very disappointed in the rewards once we do finally get him…
NSP is coordinating for the next run in about an hour.
Thanks for adding Northern Shiverpeaks to the list.
NSP has organized. I believe an attempt was made on Saturday that got Teq to 40% (so I was told — got bumped to overflow). Another attempt will be made today.
NSP is coordinating for the next run in about an hour.
I believe that would be about 7-8pm server time. I can’t remember if I’m 2 or 3 hours ahead though and not home to check at the moment.
Northern Shiverpeaks here. We haven’t beaten Teq yet but it has inspired some of us to really work at getting our server more organized and working together. We still have a ways to go and there are plenty on our server that have stated NSP will never beat Teq. I like the challenge though.
Time to die Lizard!
I’m trying to organize and get more of the NSP community involved in our server’s website (which is basically dead these days) and get a majority of people using the same VOIP again.
Last night we did the best I’ve seen us do yet when we had almost 20 people in vent, all of the turret operators where in, all of the tagged up commanders, and the rest were defending or on dps. We couldn’t believe the first stage didn’t end but we had to be really close… That was the first time in a long time I had seen that many people using NSP’s vent server at the same time.
I think we can do it with more in vent but I’m hearing a lot of QQ about how it shouldn’t be necessary, that just means this is a broken mechanic, and I don’t want 200 trolls in my ear, etc. Whatever…its not like that at all. The big boy servers use the same voip to coordinate. This event has the potential to bring our server closer together (hugs for everyone) and help us get more organized.
Join us tonight around 9-10pm CST and just try it. Rage quit afterwards if it was terrible.
Howdy Sminkiottone,
Black Crescent[BC] is a PVX guild currently recruiting smaller guilds (and other active players) to join us for WVW. No hard-core rules or “play how we say” but better communication/teamwork.
Come join us on Northern Shiverpeaks! Our server does has a strong PVE community so you’ll be able to find plenty of people to join you as you complete events and explore the world when WvW gets boring or you want to check out new content.
Most Importantly though, we have a very competitive WvW population – but we need more!

tl:dr BC guild on NSP is recruiting other guilds to merge with us.
I’m not going to read all 11 pages already posted but I’ll just throw in my vote.
Coming from a server that has a lot of fair-weather wvw players I think the orbs should give what the masses really want = better chance at finding loot & more gold!
The biggest complaint I hear when I ask why people they don’t play wvw is “It isn’t rewarding and you don’t get anything for winning.”
Increase magic find + Increase gold find = more rewards & reason to be in wvw.
