Honestly I could care less about how many HP we need to unlock the elite specs. What ticks me off is how short of notice we got.

And I still wait for that moment we get official “two-tone” dyes. Some dyes do it on SOME heavy pieces but I’d like one that does it on everything.
So depending on your camera angle and the way the lighting strikes the armor piece it would be 1 color with sheen of a completely different color family. For those who don’t know what two-tone is. xD
You never know how Druid can change. With how lack luster a lot of damage was they may turn it condi. May not. All we know is healing is a wise investment. But how much of an investment would be the question left. Healing power scaling and base heals are changed so it’s impossible to know until we get our hands on it.
If anything in gw2 is grind I’d hate to see the people with that opinion play any other MMORPG. XD

As it looks right now. . . Cleric’s or Zealot’s seems the best way to go imo. We don’t know if they’ll add any condi to staff so personally I’m waiting until the 23rd to buy any gear. I don’t want to waste laurels on a build that would feel useless.
Condi based Healing druids may not have to use staff. Axe + Torch might work for a heavily condi focused druid who builds A.F. with damage and pops into C.A.F. as needed to heal.
It all depends on how the numbers work out.
Yeah that’s the other problem. The numbers and not knowing what’s what.
I actually enjoyed staff during certain things. Not so much in others. So my build is a blank slate entirely until I know every single change. :/
Would be interesting to see staff (with added condi) – axe/torch be a thing. But I for some reason don’t find it likely. I think for generating the most CAF without healing longbow 2 will probably bring the best amount. But I could be wrong. I’m making a lot of stabs in the dark. What I wouldn’t give for 1 more beta test. xD

The only problem with a simple toggle is that in zergs, I feel full health (or close to full) players are gonna block out too much with their healthbars. This would need at least a 90% or lower health display threshold to help prevent a “sea of green”.
Thinking about it, a toggle ally healthbar hotkey with a config option to set the health display threshold when the toggle is on would be ideal, no? Every player can set it to their preferred threshold which would also useful to other classes (Revenant Ventari, ect.) that may be more about sustained healing or the like.
That would obviously be more ideal and I like it! But my brain tends to go more towards “what would be easy for them to implement so we can actually HAVE said thing?” You know?

Reading over it again I think I missed Lingering Light changed.
I prefer the idea of the wisp being put on me for a bit of self-healing while the rest of my heals are obviously more focused for others. The personal wisp was my favorite of all the Druid traits. I really hope this still has a chance to not be changed. :/

You can slot 2 of the same but you can’t put infusions into two of the same. Rendering the second of the same partly useless.

I agree with you – the work that he did is amazing and will probably be very well received but being the person who made something doesn’t automatically qualify you as the best person to promote it.
Look at other businesses – other industries – I don’t remember seeing the people who made the latest BMW series trying to promote it publicly.
Creating something and promoting it in a public setting are two very different things – one cannot really work without the other – but both are important.
His enthusiasm and personality made it that much better. I think you need to lighten up a tad.
…or maybe we could toggle a setting that would show blood spurting from wounded allies. The closer to death the more blood until they look like someone in the Sword Battle in Kill Bill :-)

I like it how it is. It matches well with majority of the community that has stayed close to gw2 since launch. There’s nothing wrong how the streams have gone. GW2 is like a big silly happy family. Holding them up to some kind of high standard professionalism seems completely out of place.
Big reason I take breaks from GW2 is the camera. I’m so used to action camera that it starts to annoy me after a while.

Healing with no health bars above people’s heads is like doing DPS without seeing red numbers. Kinda silly, no?

People who actually play the game and know what other classes can do know that Druid isn’t going to be needed and the only way they will be needed is if they make some absolute horrid design choices in making the raids.
Just because your friends want to carry you in dungeons doesn’t mean people aren’t allowed to voice their concerns about how sub par ranger and druid are in all modes.
It was around for 1 weekend where raids were pretty much broken the whole time.
Wait it out and see what it can really do. All you’re doing right now is making an assumption based on the past when it’s obvious Anet is trying to make game changing changes.
Here’s the thing. Dungeons got a nerf via rewards. Nobody is going to care about dungeons as much as they did before. Will Druid be nice in harder fractals and raids where they are NOW pushing rewards and focus? Yep.

I find that it’s going to be great even in dungeons. I like to solo / duo dungeons and this is a new and fun way to do it. But I guess the only thing in this game that really matters is how much skill it takes to stack and press 1. XD

You cant run a healer in 5-man pvp, you just cant, it will never work.
I do, and it works for me pretty easily.

Having different equipment and builds for underwater usage is a good idea since the dynamics of each class changes completely with weapon selection and the way underwater combat works in general.
Just keep in mind that if you have like 5k less health on land than you do in water then you probably don’t want to leave the water with low health and especially not with that huge burning tick on you xD .
Yeah but who GETS OUT of the water when they are on fire? :P

The only issue I will hope to have cleared is how celestial avatar form skill 1 works. It’s really. . . hard to use.
Ascended aquabreathers are coming with the release of HoT. So don’t worry.
HOWEVER, many of us are hoping for a near total re-imagination of the underwater combat system. Rather than remove aquabreathers, they should be buffed in stats to replace ALL of your armor and trinkets. That way you can have for example: A crit build above water and a condi build underwater.

I understand that Druid is probably still undergoing many changes. . . but I don’t feel safe to prepare gear until I know the details. Not knowing til the day of is kind of a bummer but understandable.

Zhaitan fight was probably the only let down I’ve had in any part of the story.

The legendaries I was looking forward to the most was new underwater weapons and a new scepter.
I love underwater combat so I’m kinda disappointed.

YesWhy? It’s like deincentivizing to play the game at some level, why would developers ever do such a thing? I can understand taking the gold away for economy reasons, but give something back to keep the content alive. You should aim to have every part of your game 100% enjoyable and rewarding, this is what you wanted at release, to reward people everywhere they go, and now here you are admitting the intention of deincentivizing dungeons. It’s almost as bad as making SAB temporary.

they removed dungeon rewards and are adding them to raids to “better focus moving forward”.
translation: they really really want you to buy the expansion and they’re willing to eff over the main game to do it.

A story if you will. . .
I had 0% luck. I was on a level 14. I fought Shadow Behemoth. I got exotics.
I learn about magic find. I stack it to 101% and I return to Shadow Behemoth on a level 80 character. Haven’t gotten 1 exotic from him since.
MF cursed me.

(Side note – I do know MF doesn’t effect containers >.>)
The one reason why I don’t like the idea is: if you can target them you will get those types who complain why didn’t you target them for heals. Without targeting it’s everyone’s job to stay within the same area of each other so healing and getting healed is about working together.
I like it a lot more than usual healer setups to be honest.
This is an interesting thread because its extremely common in many MMOs.
I have reached the level cap so what do I now do.
Another frequent question is how do I get to the level cap ASAP.
The general inference is that until a player reaches the level cap there isnt much to do.
Some games like WOW partially solve the problem by increasing the level cap over time , but it only stalls off the inevitable when everyone reaches the new level cap.
So I then wondered why have levels at all.
Since the aim of the game for many players is to get to the level cap asap and then play the "End Game " whatever that is , why not simply have an “End Game”
No levels.
The entire world is the “End Game”
No levelling needed.
This means that the game devs can put all their efforts into making “End Game” content, and woudnt have to waste their time making many other lower level zones where players are just trying as hard as possible to get thru them to reach the end game zones.
This game is a bit better than most in that there is stuff to do in the lower level zones for people who have reached the level cap, but I wonder just how many people do this.
The other alternative is that the “End game” means just that, you have reached the end of the game and its time to buy a new one.These are just some ideas to throw around, as I have no views about the practicality / otherwise of any of this.
I would love a game with no levels, just content. Leveling is just something people rush through. Point A to point B then complain there’s nothing to do.
I feel like HoT xpac kind of does this. Instead of more leveling; we’re offered masteries. And they can continue to add to these masteries as time goes on. It was 1 of 2 things that really got me excited for Launch.
People would dye their underwear skin color to look nekkid and I would be too shocked to play the game.
Anet could get around this by at least offering 10 different colors that they choose.
Make it something you set during character creation with the limited dyes available there, and can change only with a makeover kit?
The only bad part is no matter how many dyes you add it never adds them to the makeover kits. So I think it would be very limited but at least if that option was there…. :O I want blue leafs!
I’ve had such an easy time picking what gear I enjoy on any other class but with Druid. . . I don’t know yet.
I wanna see what direction Irenio takes us first. We’ve had many suggestions pile up here. Some about condi, some to stay power and up damage. All we know for sure is the healing power scaling is getting looked at. But the numbers and %s still a mystery atm.
I thought Zealot’s gear would be fun. But now I’m more looking at Cleric, Nomad, and Apothecary as well. Going to be hard to be prepared for HoT when I don’t know what stats I’ll need!
The problem with Zealot’s is the fact that most people missed it out, and the fact that you need 500 watchwork sprocket for a zealot’s insignia. That’s 3000 watchwork sprocket for a whole set. It’s a lot of Aether path or a lot of mining with the watchwork pick for the ones not willing to pay the 14-15g needed for 500 watchwork sprocket.
Thank you for this info! I didn’t even look into what it took to create Zealot’s. I am going to invest in that pickaxe for sure now. I wasn’t sure how worth it it could be but I have been kicking myself for not picking it up when it was 500 gems.
