I Said this about 2years ago and I’ll say it again:
Rewards are bad for pvp formats since it attracts the wrong audience.

The gw1 map used to be bigger, they reduced its size in order to fit eye of the north on it also.
And this is an update to how the game is during its latest year.

the link doesnt seem to work from here, wierd.
anyway, this thread on team quitter: Update 9/26/2014 – kitten da Syncerz
(edited by Coast.5162)
To all the people saying gw1 misses dodging, thats not true.
U can dodge in gw1 (sidestepping to dodge ranged attacks).
Positioning and movement is also extremely important in gw 1 and there is tons of cc avaible to use.
So I’m surprised to say the least at some of the things I have read so far about what is missing in the game I know everything about.

@ Karla Grey: could you help me playing team arenas/explain me how to go there?
I found an old box of the game back and I cant find the team arena map that should be there according to the box. Did they move it to another place or so?
Thanks in advance

This would look even better with gw2 engine!
I find it funny when people assume GW1 was only theorycrafting builds and counters. The combat was just as if not more active than GW2. The fact is it had interrupts and hexes (based around punishing enemy for spamming). Proper protection and healing spells (able to almost full heal from a spike of dps). Along with Conditions, Melee and kiting, Aoes, block skills/spells and teleports. Also I probably need to mention you couldn’t just spam skills either. They were reliant on energy which you had a supply of and when you ran out it had to regenerate.
I would like to add that being in the correct weaponset was/is also extremely important, at least in gw1.
This video has some rly nice examples of people dying in their casterset while if they had been in their shieldset they might have survived. (KMD guys dying usually were not in shieldset).
dont think guardians can prot like this.

There were no gw 1 forums, team quitter doesn’t count.

0.75 seconds and up, ofcourse sometimes faster casting times can be interrupted but thats usually NOT the case.
Back in gw1 NOBODY could realibly interrupt 0.5 casts so the people claiming they could are talking bs. Especially the ones saying they did it as a ranger since there also was a delay on the interrupt as ranger because of flighttime of the arrow next to the 0.25casttime of the interrupt.
Unless ofcourse they were botting, then 0.5sec casts and below were possible to rupt all the time lol.

So it took like 1 year for gw2to have a smaller pvp than gw 1 currently has after 8+ years of neglection, such quality.
Add retaliation and random conditions on you when mobs take dmg.
Full beserker teams will have major issues if implemented correctly.
look: cast time bars from 2008! (rawr-KMD)

Instead of going forward we go back in time, literally…
No actions can be made, people copied our tag all the time in gw 1 without consequences.
Aside from the 1 sec casting time, anybody else getting Healing Hands flashbacks from this? XD
No, Mark Of Protection
Let the inflation begin!
Stranger things have happened in the world, history is full of it, also doesn’t matter if that method is been endorsed by staff since it reduces account security no matter how far fetched it might be.
No it’s not all you need, but its a pretty important detail that should not be taken lightly.
So if I was the OP I would try to give my friend a hard copy for the following reasons:
- the gift can actually be touched, has nice box with it
- definatly safer for the person getting the gift since theres an extra layer of protection (serial code being a secret)
Actually, the codes in the boxes are on cards that need to be scratched before the code is even visible (they have some strip on them) so it doesnt matter if they do it blindfolded like a real wizard or not.
Second, the serial key should not be open wide on the computer desk.
You can recover the account with having the code also.
In that case, you could say the guy who put the code in the box is “owner” of the account, since he presumably knows the code too. The person who registers the code and creates the account is the account owner. Anyone else who happens to know the code is not.
but the issue is someone else that isn’t authorised knowing the serial code since he send the mail with the code in it… with the boxed version he doesnt know the serial code if he hasn’t opened it.
Coast, I’m sorry but you are wrong.
Nobody owns the account till the serial has been used to make an account! When you give the serial (unused) to someone else and they make the account in their name and email, they are the owner.
This has been posted several time both by forum members and GM’S.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/Gifting-GW2-Digital
Besides, the serial isn’t even needed to establish ownership if an account was hacked for example. There are many other way’s.[/quote]
But from the point the account is made its unsafe for the person who made the account since the other person mailed him/her the serial code since that other person has it also and in worst case scenario he can just take back the account he gave if he wants to be annoying ( since he has the serial code).

Submitting an official ticket will not help you at all since you threw away your only chance at a rollback away when you made this thread..
U all got trolled…
They are all phishing mails, just put that trash in the trashbin.
If something is wrong with your account you will notice while logging in (password/etc… not working) or after you have logged in (items gone, in different order as where you had them yourself).
Anet never sends mails about that unless you as customer have contacted them yourself.
So if you ever get any mails about account closing, warnings… don’t even read them
since it are all fakes from Asia mainly trying to hack your account…
You are only allowed to give him/her a hard copy (unopened box)since the other way with just the serial key technically is basically account sharing and that’s a bannable offense.
That’s because this key is used for ownership verification if things go wrong with the account.

1562 - The system indicates that this ticket does not exist. Can you please check the number?
It was for the [Incident: 131015-000759], but you have already resolved it.
I had a mail saying this below so I thought the new system incident number was 156, apparentely I was wrong.
‘Your request has been received and is being reviewed by our support staff. To add additional comments, reply to this email with additional information. Your incident number is (#1562).’
But you resolved the issue already, thanks again.

I thought the restoration tool didn’t work anymore since mid 2012 or is that only for the original guild wars?
Works like portal until 10000 units.
Any range higher as 10000units makes the limits of shadowsteps apply.
I myself will mainly use it in certain fractals (dredge and swamp).
so if the recharge is 21.5seconds and not 17.5 then it still means putting this much in trickery is kinda wasting 15attributes that u can spend somewhere else for better results.
15 acrobatics for example ( trap recharge or might on dodges)
Good investment you did right there.
This game isnt worth grinding anyway and its allowed to spend cash on gems so theres no problem.
Also this guys, its not because someone buys it that they suck at the game.
The initial teleport was 1200 range limit, the return (unlimited range) worked as intended.
also this (‘high quality’ changes to skills by anet):
Smiter’s Boon (PvP)
Enchantment Spell. For 5 seconds, your Smiting Prayers have double the Divine Favor bonus.
Concise description
Enchantment Spell. (5 seconds.) Your Smiting Prayers have double Divine Favor healing bonus.
This skill was modified in the August 21st, 2008 update to effectively remove it from PvP. In a Developer update, ArenaNet stated, “We recognize that the changes to this skill will essentially remove it from play. In the future, we may consider whether or not there is an incarnation of this skill that would be viable but balanced. For now, we do not expect it to see serious use.”
This skill is considered by most to be the paramount example of a nerf and thus, has given rise to a nickname known as Smiter’s Booning (or simply S-booning) or “[to] 25/90 <a skill>” (in reference to the new energy cost and recharge), or simply “booned.” (example- “The skill got booned!”) It is most often used when players cry out for the nerf of a particular problematic skill or when a skill has been made so underpowered it becomes unplayable in serious builds.
I would like to be able to weaponswap while in combat on ele, but with the downside of not being able to swap attunements.
Tornado. Cantrip(1sec cast/50recharge/1500range).
Target foe and all nearby foes are pulled up in the air for 1 second and pulled towards you, when they fall down on the ground they suffer from criple/confusion/bleeding/weakness and vulnerability for 3 seconds.( foes take 122 lighting dmg while in the tornado and 122 physical dmg when they hit the ground).
Now, that elite would be devastating!
(edited by Coast.5162)
guardians/mesmers should make up for the survivability loss
Wait with buying, it’s not hard to understand.
Main reason is that it’s fairly common/semi-rare for precursors to appear in the game and time is your friend (patience).
There is nothing special in gw2 (in terms of being extremely rare), this means that everything will devalue over time (eventually), except for the ultra rares that don’t excist.
power/precision/crit dmg, the other stats are a waste.
goal of warriors: big dommage!!!
thats full heal in a little over 14seconds, too strong
Yes, the game definatly is for casuals.
Nobody is forcing you to grind for legendaries or something like that.
Its up to you as a player and even if you want such an item then it will just take longer as someone that plays the game a lot. Nothing wrong with that tbh.
Because I didn’t have time before.
Skill Point Accumulator
Earn skill points by completing skill challenges or by filling the experience bar of a character of level 5 or higher.
Hi
Yesterday I completed my daily but for some strange reason it didn’t update so I didn’t receive the reward for it.
I was at 60% done and I had 1 event left to do and 2out of 3 skillpoints done to make it 100% complete(so 1 event and 1 skillpoint short.
I was very close to leveling up so when I completed the event I leveled up and I got the events done but the skillpoint one didnt update(2+1=3 and not 2) and a few minutes later the daily reset and all my work of that day for the daily reward was gone.
thanks in advance
its still very usefull item, its basically an extra skill on a 50second recharge
make thief just for this people if u want the part easy:
After the part is done u can go back on your original character, see it as swapping some skills in your build to solve the problem.
This is most likely the easiest solution now to do the encounter but u need alt as thief for shadow refuge.
Someone said something about 1 laurel a day for a storymode, seems like a nice idea to create some interest for any storymode. (Only get a laurel a day per storymode so people dont keep running a specific storymode over another).
Translated into numbers it means that a player could earn 8 laurels a day from the 8 storymodes in the game and 1 more laurel for completing the daily for a grandtotal of 9 laurels a day.
This means a player could earn an ascended amulet in 4 days assuming (s)he plays like 8h+ a day or about 30hours total for such an amulet.
I took 1 hour time per laurel earned.
Assuming most people average 2h/day on the game at most then it would take those people about 2 weeks for 1 ascended amulet.
Question is: what do you people think about this?
When gw1 was new u had to pay also to change attributes, I guess u just have to give it a little time for them to step up and remove the cost.
You can still pug easily.
Started playing fractals 2days ago or so and alrdy up to level 9.
Agony at level 10 aint that bad neither…
