Quoting on the part: “On using Merciful Intervention with Monk’s Focus traited, the caster will receive an double proc of the MI healing effect provided the player successfully teleports to an Ally ( this equates to 5880 of base healing ).”

I don’t think this is a bug; it is balanced against other builds. This skill is highly inclined on support and self healing. It is neither offensive or defensive. Also, this skill is interruptible unless traited with Focused Mind and does not break stun. Buildwise, Altruistic Healing has similar effect but the usage and technique of attaining such healing is relatively on boons unlike this one which heals a large amount in one cast.

There are many ways to do this:

  1. Ask other players to help you if things get challenging for you:
    a) A thief, which uses Shadow Refuge to cloak allies, would be a good one.
    b) High level players that can kill the monsters for you; possibly in your guild.
    c) This location is a part of a chain event; you may come by with a group of players doing this; ask them, others may have not yet gotten that point as well.
  2. If you don’t want anybody’s help:
    a) Don’t rush. Level your character and come back if you’re ready or if your character has the skill to enable you to get the points (see 1.a, if a Thief).

What will happen to Ascended MF items?

I’ll just…Yaknow…put this here….

" In the near future, we’ll detail the system we’ll use to replace the existing magic find items. Our goal will be to have as little disruption as possible to those who currently own items with a magic find stat on them." – The blog post you’re talking about

Well, I have read it already. Thanks but I would love to hear my fellow gamers’ opinions.

They will just delete them all, I assume. Seriousy, they’re going to compensate players with MF armor. If I were them, I would probably shift the set so that Power becomes the primary stat (MF is currently the primary), and make the third secondary stat be Toughness or something generic. For Divinity/Celestial stats, just replace the MF with double Power.

I agree with Nay of the Ether (was Nate, sorry). But you were just assuming that is. The real concern is the Ascended trinkets and infusions that were purchased.

I just purchased an Ascended MF piece last night. No tears here.

I used Laurels (stockpiled up to 130 before I used them all last night) and WvW tokens as I never WvW and ANET decided to give me a crap load from Achievement Chests.

It would be cool if ANET gave something, which I’m sure they will. I mean.. I got a free Kite just for buying Gems.

I share your concern. ANET probably has a nice way of managing all MF stat items. ^^

In one of the other interviews (not the blog post) it was mentioned that a few items are retaining their MF item stat. I speculate that ascended trinkets are included.

Hmm.. maybe that is one thing more that is unclear, a possibility of MF stats adding on top on the upcoming account base MF stats? Interesting but unclear.

Probably a merchant that will accept ascended MF items, and offer other ascended items in return, or something like that. It’s pretty clear that the items won’t just vanish.

A merchant is a good option. But how about MF infusions placed in non-MF gear? (Why did they waste such infusion… Tsk tsk tsk) Maybe an item that removes infusion.

With the recent announcement that Magic Find will be account base, what will happen to the purchased Ascended Magic Find gears? I for one have acquired MF Ascended items and others as well. Putting it into account it will cost months in acquisition. What is your take on this guys? Replacement item? Stats?

From Calae.1738: “The reason why champions aren’t soloable for the most part is because they have control resistances. They can’t be knocked down, stunned, crippled ect…”

“These control mechanics are essential since you can’t dodge every attack. I would remove control immunies from all NPC’s. In the absence of tanks and healers, control immunies make no sense what so ever.”

FYI: There are champions that are soloable.

@Kynmarcher.2184: Less champions? Nah.

Same size character models

Arguably, I think your problem is not regarding the character model size but how the skill effects are easily recognized during casts due to most animations/effects are relative to a model’s size.

I disagree that it would be much fun to watch all races on same sizes; it destroys the original concept this game was built. Asuras are small and Norns are huge and other races goes in between.

Well Entropy, skritts are really hilarious but it will be less likely to be a playable race; because it is a lesser faction. I guess one faction that would come out as a playable race is the Tengu.

If they polearms they would just do it wrong. Look at the way they did 2 handed hammers. You dont swing your hammer like that to do most damage. The right hands is way to high on the shaft. There is no pendulum effect on hammer swings in the game. Sad really cause attacks with hammer would look so much cooler with it :/

Good point with the hammer swing damage, handling is visually incorrect, eventually they might adjust it. Suggestively, polearms are nice to have in the game.

Definetly melee polearms, javalins are cool and all but this isn’t D2 =P Also at a later date if they brought in dervish as a class that would be so boss.

Kind of true. I am thinking of land-type spear weapon skills incorporated with a javelin’s throw skill, making spear a mid-range to long range (one long throwing skill).

I was also thinking, in addition, that spears (land use) (its different from polearms), great axes, two-handed maces be added for melee classes.

For polearms, i would like to see them dedicated to warrior classes; I couldn’t visualize the part of guardians swashbuckling this weapon type.

Great axes can only be used by warriors. It’s nice to see more blunt weapons.

Next is spears. Spears can be used by all melee classes. The difference would be warriors handle spears as two-hand weapons while guardians have it as a main-hand weapon partnered with a shield.

Lastly, is the two-handed mace. It can be used by all melee classes.

I would love to see these weapons soon ^^.

How about you guys?
