Hey guys i just finished unlocking the elite spec on my engineer and im looking for some equipment pieces or an outfit to make my character look like a cyborg kinda soldier of badarsery, any tips on gear choices? I’m thinking of getting that robo backpack that talks
Oh and my char is human btw so I can’t use asuran cultural armor :/

Ranger elite specialization the hunter
-ALL NAMES ARE PLACEHOLDERS-
Pros: can mount the pet
Pet becomes a second health pool to the ranger shielding him from dmg
Can attack while mounted including melee, and can channel skills like barrage while moving
Skills that affect the pet like guard for example would also affect the ranger while mounted
Cons: cannot evade nor use movement abilities like swoop from greatsword
When pet gets killed while the ranger is mounting it the ranger gets a 1,5 sec knockdown(falls off the pet)
Pet needs to be in 300 range to mount it.
This elite spec would bring a new mechanic to the ranger allowing us to take advantage of our pets in an unique way. While mounting the only way to hit the ranger would be by killing his mount first. They would have access to 3/4 unique pets with big models and f2 skills suited for mounting.
While in mount mode pets would not be able to attack except for their triggerable abilities that can be activated as the ranger rides the pet.
U would mount with f5 and it would have a 15 sec cooldown when u dismounted or ur pet died while mounting him( so U couldnt just pet swap and mount right after)
Traits:
Minor – become a hunter and grant access to 3/4 new pets that can be mounted, the rifle weapon and physical utility skills.

1-become immune to cripple,chill and immobilize while mounted
2- get 50% aditional poison condition duration
3- when ur pet is hit below 30% he gets protection for 3 seconds interval of 3 seconds
Rifle
Poison bullets – 1,200 range autoattack applys 1 stack of poison for 8 seconds
2 – dodge backwards while firing a poisoned net that imobilizes for 2 seconds, and Applys 4 stacks of poison for 6 secs.
3 – fires a trap(not considered a trap utility) that when triggered imobilizes the targets for 3 seconds, weakens for 5 seconds and applys 5 stacks of bleeding.Applys 5 seconds of stealth to ur pet.
4 – channel a shot that when fired leaves a trail of poison that blinds, weakens and poisons anyone that goes through and when it hits the target. 2 secs blind, 3 secs weakness, 1 stack of poison for 5 seconds.
5 – tranquilizing fumes – fires an aoe poisonous smoke field that blinds and slows anyone inside it. Lasts 6 seconds. Blinds 1 second, slows 0,5 seconds. 2 second internal cooldown.

Aoe field lasts 15 seconds and has a huge radius enough to cover the mid point in foefire in spvp for example.( since this is a pet skill it will affect the ranger aswell when mounting)
The idea behind this elite spec is of the ranger becoming one with his animal companion raising his bond to a greater level of atunement with nature by allowing him to mount it. Chasing enemies on a wild hunt firing poisonous attacks that cripple and slow their targets and capturing their prey with their leash.
The pets that the Rangers gets access to all have different stats depending on which role they are based on(tank,dps,etc). Other specs like beastmastery would synergise very well with this since your mount would last longer. Their f2 skills would be suited to be taken most advantage off when mounting. Like for example, a leap that u can target around.

why do non ranger players always come to these forums to get a blaise class nerfed down?
Ive NEVER seen that happen to my ranger when my pet is dead.
I actually main a ranger, but I was playing on my guardian today and I noticed it. It’s clearly not working as intended, and just because you haven’t noticed it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. I’ll try to get a screenshot

I’m not sure if this has been suggested before but since i havent seen any posts about it ima do it anyways.
My suggestion is to open up a new option in the hero panel(like what u did for minis and outfits) to allow us to pick our cosmetic mounts(magic carpet,sonic tunneling tool, riding broom) and set it to automatically use.
When we would enter combat they would vanish and then reappear once we ooc.(this would be an option not obligatory) We would have all of our cosmetic mounts avaiable in the hero panel to choose from at any time.
I think this would bring more interest into these items, what do you think?

And instead of stomping enemies, u revive them.
Once i got caught by a zerg while roaming by myself in wvw, and a guardian from my server came out of nowhere with the teleport heal, put up the sanctuary ability and revived me. We both came out alive.

I would like specializations, maybe druid so we can see how specializations would actually effect trait lines and utiities and how to acquire the specialization. Just one wouldnt hurt. ._.

They could just allow dueling in the heart of the mists pvp lobby. Make a zone where dueling invites are allowed, like the golems zone but for dueling.

Dear dear Arenanet, Gw2 Community,
It would be really nice ..when people play pvp..they dont need to be scared that they will get insulted no matter what they do…i get insulted for winning..i get insulted for losing..thats my daily pvp(and im not a bad player…and pvp nearly everyday)
i got enough from this…!! and i dont want that so many player in gw2 need to suffer bcs of this!!
Im speaking for all when i say:
I dont want come home tired from work and relax..and the first thing someone tell me is: OMG NOOOB, GO DIE, U TRASHi know its normal that in pvp people get faster emotional and angry…but..this is no reason to insult someone and hurt someone….and its a part of the rules of gw2 (i know noone read it..but..) that insulting someone is forbidden…..actually it should be a general standard that insulting is bad..we r all human and have our pride and rights.
Maybe the generation under me see it as normal to hurt eachother and hurting words became a standard…but this game should not teach them that it is ok..there should be a better way to punish them( forexample a buff which cant let them talk to others for 1h)..and show them how bad it is not to respect eachother and say any bad word they want.
A wrong button click, and bad teambalance, and many others r no reason to hurt someone !!

Man i feel you, this also happens to me sometimes. Unfortunatly this is something to be expected from public games, my suggestion is to play with friends and guildies in premades.
The other day i was playing with my mesmer and i got pulled into the mid of the team fight and got downed over and over again. The guy ressing me started complaining about how i was kitten etc. Anyways we lost that match. Next match i queued i found him again but this time he was on the enemy team. Right at the start he starts complaining about me to my team and my teammates backed me up
. He was talking about how my team was gonna have to carry me etc, 1 min later big team fight, he rushes to me and i beat him and escape, now he is saying ‘’Bro Cake( my mesmer name) is kitten and will always be kitten’‘. 5 mins later my team wins and his team is telling him to shut up. After that i whisper to him ’’u got rekt m8’’ and ignore him. Who laughs last, laughs better xD.
Dont listen to these people their stupid and not worth ur time and if ur guild is being like that to u, well leave the guild i join a more friendly one, im still looking for one.
Im not sure if someone already mentioned this but how about they made the arena inside the heart of the mists pvp lobby? Since the whole pvp community is gathered there it would make most sense to be placed there for free for all deathmatches. This way it wouldnt get in the way of the pve maps.
heh now that i think about it i might master exploration too. Legendaries are all for looks anyways. :P

Quarterstaff is a melee weapon so any guessing about what a staff would do needs to take that into account.
Quarterstaff, yes, but every GW class so far has used the staff magically. At this point, we have no reason to assume that it’ll be used to club people over the head. Honestly, as much fun as speculating on what new stuff will be, sometimes it’s just better to sit back and wait, no matter how impatient you might be getting.
Yeah all classes have used the staff magically but there’s nothing stopping to introduce them for physical means, i mean mesmers(and elementalist’s elite skill) use greatswords to channel magic and rangers throw their axes(altho this one fits the theme, its still a departure from the traditional use of the axe).
So…. if there’s anything left from that LA giveaway…. I can has your stuff?

Would be cool if anet gave each race a seperate trait line based for racials. U would have Youngster Traits(adept), Adult(master) and Elder(grandmaster) or something, and u could get taits to lower the cd or get new benefits for ur racials. idk i think it would be cool 8D

1st wish: remove them entirely and give us back the damage we lost for having them
2nd wish: turn pets into temporary summonable utility skills like a bear for tanking, a feline for damage or a bird for support( each of them would have skills u could activate like the necromancer minions)
3rd Wish: If this was implemented it would ruin the purpoese of shouts so i think they could be each pets special ability, the bear would get ‘’protect me’‘, the feline dps pet would get ’’sic em’’ and the support bird would get ‘’search and rescue’’.
4th Wish: Maybe a 4th Pet for usage of ’’guard’’ shout, like a hybrid between tank and dps like a wolf.

Axe: general boost to default axe damage and make whirling defense(number 5 axe skill) give the ability to move or give stability)
Traits:
-make honed axes trait decrease cooldown on axe skills and maybe increase its range
-and general trait allocation fix that people above me already stated
