Quick question: Is it possible to use your karma points to buy armor/accessories for other characters?
Maybe by transmuting, or what ever its called?Yes, it’s possible. Some of the Exotic Temple accessories are account bound on acquire, soulbound on use. Armors are soulbound on acquire.
If you’re talking about just the look/skins, then yes, transmutation stones will work. Stats will not transfer.
Also, Karma jugs/potions from dailies/monthlies/instances are account bound. Save up a bunch, and at least pop a karma booster and have at it.
Good luck!
Good luck!
Would anyone happen to know what exotic accessories are account bound vs character bound?
I’m bring up an alt and I have an existing level 80 which a bunch of karma points. Would like to get accessories (if I can’t get armor) for this new alt by using the existing karma points from my level 80.
Not sure if there is a listing some where of exotic accessories that are exclusively account bound vs soulbound on acquire.
thanks!
So I have an Asura Thief, but I am not liking how the daggers look in his tiny hands. The daggers look like, well, small daggers.
In contrast, I have been working on a Norn Thief and the daggers look like short swords! Freaking cool!
Question: is there a dagger skin that you think looks the best on the Asura, or at least looks longer/bigger?

I currently have my thief as level 20.
At this point I still haven’t placed any trait points.
I’m looking for the best way to fly through PvE to help me hit 80.
Once 80 i’ll spec for WvW.
If possible show the best allocation of points up to my level, 20, then points where you get the book unlocks (I think 40 and 60).
Currently finding it difficult to level the thief.
Ranger and Warrior were so much easier.
Thanks for the help
Yea, I know…“play what you want”.
But, starting out a new Ranger and wanted to get perspective of those currently playing the Ranger class as to which race is preferred.
I’ve narrowed it down to asura or human.
I’m actually looking for nuances of the asura or human race that you like or enjoy, playing the Ranger class.
(by the way, going PvE while leveling and heavy WvW)
thanks in advance.
I’ve got a newbie Ranger, level 15.
I’m pretty lost on what I should do as far as a leveling build.
I currently haven’t placed any trait points on.
Any direction?
Thanks peter, much appreciated. Sorry cruces, no more hijacking from me.
Hey Nandor, no problem. It was said it jest…its all good.
So, if the signet build is the way to go for leveling, can someone show me the build.
Also, at level 18 the trait line I should be starting in first.
And maybe skills 6 – 9 (signets I guess they will be).
Thanks a bunch!
(Also, nice comments about honor and integrity while insulting people, there’s some honorable behavior right there. I assume you weren’t actually calling them “kittens”).[/quote]
“Defined as one who offers oneself for money”
This is a type of dishonorable behavior i’m talking about. I’m not going to apoligize for a word whos definiation applies.
Lets not kid ourselves here…
Jade Quary and Blackgate are full of guild leaders who fall into this defination, while dragging their guild populations with them.
Outside of this, I do understand your comments about WvW not being perfectly balanced, and the direction Anet chooses to manage this.
and if you are new to lvl 80, how would a 20 30 0 0 20 build with knights gear and gs lb build would be for pve – dungeons – fractals and a very little wvw be?
Ack! My thread just got hijacked.
How about my level 18 Where do I start to build my trait line?
I’m sure there must be a reason, but can you explain why you went with Scholar and not just all Ruby Orbs on your armor.
Currently i’m set up with 5 Scholar and 1 Ruby, but is sure would have been much less expensive than just going full Ruby.
Get two axes or a GS and spec into signet traits and use all signets. Super easy and incredibly fast lvling.
Ofc once you hit lvl 60 PLEASE drop the signets and learn something else, cause the signets stop scaling at lvl 60 and there are still too many lvl 80 warrs in WvW and dungeons running fulls signet specs….. makes it harder for the rest of us lol
Nice…so what would the spec look like up to level 60?
Yeah, it really doesn’t work unfortunately. It didn’t work really well in any of the games that have implemented it.
…says the server with the most player kittens.
Yah, but we all know why this doesn’t work. You know, people actually want to play the game they paid for D;
This comment implies that those within the same tier, with the lower population, are not playing. This is not be a factual statement or argument against WvW scaled population. The scaling and servers would even itself out as the weeks progress as they currently do now.
It would be nice if Anet could think about honor and integrity and how it relates to WvW. I believe in this day and age, this concept has been lost.
What if server population in WvW was scaled based upon the lowest teams population?
This would allow for balanced game place and eliminate the massive population zergs.
It’s funny to see players in Jade Quarry and Blackgate crow about how good they are with multiple massive zergs runnning in all maps at the same time.
This would be based upon the tier you are currently fighting in, not the entier server population.
If server population was scaled based upon the lowest teams population the winning servers would be based entirely on skill and not player prostitutes.

I have a new Warrior who is currently level 18.
I have not placed any trait points yet.
Was wondering what the best leveling build is.
Trying to hurry to level 80 on this dude.
why not just ruby orbs on all armor?
I wonder if people on SoR are feeling a bit used by JQ right now.
Not at all.
You see, i’d rather lay down with someone I love instead of a bunch of prostitutes.
<nudge>, <nudge> @ BG
So for WvW which build is most used?
Also, what is your perspective about each game play, pros & cons.
Just hit enough Karma points for new gear…don’t want to mess this up.
With the coming nerf to stealth/backstab, was thinking of trying a condition build in WvW.
Wanted to get the community thoughts on this idea…
are "clovers’ a drop?
and what is “the precursor”?
(edited by Cruces.3280)
Ah, and I use well of suffering/corruption now with focused rituals now most of the time. Works better for pve and wvwvw. Signet of locusts or spite, depending on the situation, and either weakening shroud (solo, easy content) or reapers precision (whre range is important).
Hey Shiizo
What did you swap out of your “Curses” line that allowed you to add “Focused Rituals”. Currently you have: IV & VII.
(edit: your name = kitten) trying your name with two letter “i”.
(edited by Cruces.3280)
I would like to make the legendary weapon, Quip the pistol.
Problem is I don’t know where to start.
First, do I need to have specific professions maxed out, or can guild mates help?
Also, the best place to start for gathering materials.
I’m not sure what’s needed and what is the easiest/hardest to get.
I guess i’m just looking for a starting point
quick question:
Let’s say I create an alt, and at level 2 I choose a craft and level it to a max of 400. About what level would that take my character?
Leeto man….That’s some strong play. I’m a wvw crit power wellomancer. I do major damage but tend to get burnt down when focused on. I liked your survivability. Are you runnin PVT with your condition spec?
Yea…we have a lot of unanswered questions here.
I’m thinking of leveling a Necromancer for WvW.
There is support on these forums for a power Necro in WvW.
The question: why play a power Necromancer over a thief?
Both use a main hand dagger, with the power necro can sometimes use 2 dagger as a Thief.
Reason asking is, I have a level 80 thief already.
Would this be a waste of time?
very nice.
Do you show your build somewhere?
Sheobix’s “new build” in is blog link shows 25/0/25/20/0, but in his blog notes he states his new build is 15/0/25/20/10…so freaking confusing.
Will the real Sheobix “new build” please stand up!
Hey Maskaganda
Is there a reason you don’t something like full Vatlaaws armor?
(precision / toughness / condition).
I"m sure theres a reason, but I really don’t know.
I would think that if you’re going condition damage, there would not be a need for that much power.
also, I’d like to share with you my build to get your opinion.10 – 5
30 – 4/6/12

20 – 6/5
10 – 6thinking of going full Vatlaaws (or equivilent).
Thanks for the view. Really appriciate your prespective.I think I have a good balance between power and cd. Power isn’t completely useless in my build, especially against glass cannon builds where cd doesn’t have much time to shine.
I have gone a bit higher on cd and lower on power before and I didn’t feel like it was working, pistol # 1 was doing ridiculously low damage and it was hurting more than it helped. tha’s how it felt to me anyway. besides my conditions hit hard enough as it is.
regarding ur build, nothing wrong with the trait choice, can’t say more before seeing the utilities :p—thanks lanny for your posts
Hello Maskaganda
Thanks for taking the time to respond.
My utilities are…
6 – med kit
7 – flamethrower
8 – took kit
9 – elixir S
0 – supply crate
I chose flamethrower for the push back (small cooldown) , blind, and if necessary ground burn. I could potentially replace with Asura Pain Inverter.
I’d also like to thank Lanny for the research…it’s pure gold!
hey Lanny
I really appriciate you taking the time to reply.
I’ll relook at the armor pieces.
The build I posted. Think that will work?
I’m mostly in WvW with a group.
I dont think I could live without speedy kits…I dont see a way without that. hehe
Hi Mask,
I decided to try this build for WvW because it is already very similar to my PvE build (except I have 10 points into Explosives for Incendiary Ammo). I may have been hasty in crafting a full sex of exotic Carrion armor. I’m finding that I have plenty of health but I think my toughness is too low. I’m taking big spikes of damage. Do you have a minimum toughness that you aim for? Would you mind sharing a more detailed list of your gear (runes, sigils, etc) with a fellow pistolier?
From his first post:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fcQQJAqalspSXnvSeF17IRoC4H0D9mX+K6xjh8kB
6x runes of the adventurer
superior sigil of corruption/superior sigil of earth
armor is mostly carrion, jewels are a mix of coral and chrysocola

it does work, just don’t go full cd, you need some power too for it to work.

Hey Maskaganda, thanks for the reply.
The AOE nerfs coming our way, are you conserned about how this will affect your p/p set up?
In tools trait you can select “static discharge”. Is this considered an AOE? I believe it bounces from target to nearby targets.
If so, does that mean that the Static Discharge builds will now be nerfed?
It’s a bounce, not an aoe, I don’t think they’re the same.
When using p/p, what about #3 (static shot). Will this be considered a “AOE” attack?

Hey guys
With all the current Engineer nerfs and the coming aoe nerfs, I was wondering if a p/p condition build would work?
The question is not for a specific build, but in general.
Do you think we have strong viable possibilities?
Well, why not go p/p and build for condition damage. Would that work?
I’m not sure if there is a standard path to take when playing in WvW in relation to trait set up.
Is there a “lean” toward either power or condition builds in WvW?
I’ve heard that it is not a good idea going condition base because of players ability to remove conditions easily, also, the max stacks that can be applied by yourself plus other players.
I’ve seen condition builds for Engineers, Rangers, Necros, Thiefs and other professions in WvW, but i’ve been wondering if power base builds is more of the standard when playing in WvW.
I hope this isn’t too much of a noob question/statement, but i’m wondering the communities perspective on this.
So i’ve hit level 80. I have over 160k karma points and i’m not sure what to do with them.
I play a lot of WvW so not sure if there is any bennefits I have have using Karma points.
I haven’t finished my story quest and just started in the Orr area.
Looking for some advice.
thanks!
Well, since Arenanet continues to beat up the Engineer class, I think i’m gonna part my level 80 and roll a new profession.
I like to do a lot of WvW and was wanting to try a melee class. I liked playing the Warrior Priest in WAR. There’s nothing better than to bludgeon the crap out of someone one. As my Warrior Priest people would be kitten at me for not healing as I went to a “wrath” build.
Anyway, back to the subject. I’m going to be spending at least half my time in WvW. Was looking at the Guardian or Warrior. Would like to get some observations on each, playstyle / fun, etc.
any info would be nice to help me with a final decision.
thanks in advance.
hey Iddiozzia
This looks promising. Would you mind sharing your build? I didn’t notice you showing it in your video.
Also, armor and set up would be nice.
I may need to dust off my 80 engineer.
thanks!
I get a “bad link” error.
Can you show or throw a different link to your build.
I’ve just about given up on my 80 Engineer. This may bring me back.
I checked your twitch and youtube and they don’t show your build.
Also, a basic strategy to your fights.
Really appreciate your help.
