We had a brave ANet player (thief) tag up a couple of weeks ago. Some naïve player asked him if he got free legendaries for working at ANet. The rest of us standing there with him at the sentry point burst out laughing because we knew better. There were a few commiserating comments about the poor state of his gear (not much time to play and acquire it.)

I can’t imagine how hard it would be to try and play having constant questions / comments thrown at you while trying to WvW / follow map chat / etcetera and you are representing your company at the same time, so anything you say is “on the record”.

Even though i always love to pick there minds, this is why i rarely talk to them. I can only imagine what its like to play the game you work on and have questions thrown at you from the 50-100 people on that map. i normally try and let them make first contact.

I just had the strangest thought – the WvW subforum is like a school. We, the players are like the big bad bullies. We want answers(bully) from the devs(the snotty rich kids). The devs don’t reply(the kids hide) and send the moderators after us(and send the adults after us). We threat with leaving the game/not buying any more gems(the bullies swear revenge).
I actually thought it describes the situation quite accurately.

More like we have a car that needs a new component after a recall. Anet says they have the parts on order but aren’t sure when it will arrive. It’s been months, they won’t tell us when the order will arrive or if it will ever arrive and they are the only company with access to the parts.
Every time we try to get answers personally they have security escort us off the premises.

yup that sounds about right. at this point im not going to play WVW season 2 and am going into other F2P MMO’s i have put up with this crap since launch. there comes a time to say F__K YOU ANET

On a note more direct to the thread. How is the second option far too anyone? There’s at least 150 people fighting the knights. That mean 6 of those people get loot for an event that takes at minimum 50 to complete. That’s a 1.2% chance to get something.

This event is such a waist of time. When you killed your last knight all the circles dont show up.. so you gotta run back and get the one or two u missed.. if u enter then its 2 late and ur alone when u enter….

Dont get loot from knights at all, why do it at all? loot on chest… so you get loot if you got enough dps and kill em all, get all the circles andhope it dosnt bug so u missed one cause then ur screwed like i said on top… nah, atm i hope it ends soon

I’ll admit that I haven’t had a core drop since Tuesday evening, but looking at the statistics on gw2tp it(http://www.gw2tp.com/item/50058-synergetic-assault-knight-power-core), it does appear that a steady supply is being maintained on the TP. This would indicate that at least someone is getting them.

Honestly, event items all look like that during the event in question, no matter how freely they are dropping. Speculators are constantly buying or selling attempting to make quick cash.

The ones being sold now are from the chest after defeating the hologram. After 10 or runs last night I only got one static from it so it must have a low drop rate

Zerker warrior here, 50k minimum damage to each knight, party of 5, and i have the vigil buff. no loot for the last 3 events… WTF ANET!?

EDIT, static assault core was at 1g 20s ish when i logged on today… post patch its now 4g 40s each

even if there not directly available after this is over, i would think they will bring it back sometime. they made a sprocket generator, candy corn, and quartz. at some unknown point in the future they will be brought back in.

although i am still waiting for azurite to come back…

i actually like the heavy drop rate. I have about 4k right now and im still working to get more. its the cheapest way to get an ascended back item. and i know there going to be used to change the colour as well. so might as well save them

I don’t like regular WvW, but EoTM looks fun. What’s the difference if I don’t play WvW at all and if I play EoTM only?

Points gained in EotM do not count toward the WvW server ranking.

Its only effect on the actual WvW servers is at the end of each ‘match’ – a ‘supply drop’ occurs on all the winning ‘color’ server’s home borderland (so if Green won, the Green server in every tier gets the supply drop).

My question to this is what about the multiple overflows? say theres 3 EOTM maps in play. red wins EOTM map#1, blue wins on EOTM map #2, green wins on EOTM map #3…

does this mean red,blue, and green all get supply drops to there keeps?

Really? 30 days to craft a set of armor. I’m a pretty active player, but, seriously, 30 days to craft a set of armor. It takes longer to craft a set of celestial armor than it does to craft all the legendary weapons in the game.

If you didn’t know, you need 5 charged crystals per piece of armor.

Celestial armor is dead to me. Sorry, but it is. It is a sad day.

If it makes you feel any better, Celestial armor was dead long before today. It is only marginally useful for two classes, and even for them there are better options. Overall it is the worst armor set in the game, so you aren’t missing anything by skipping it.

I’m curious about this assertion. I play ele and guard, and given their low health pool — celestial armor and zerker trinkets is a good mix IMO with the current critical damage stats.

It’s true that I get slightly less power and precision than I would with Berserker armor, but I get slightly more crit dmg % (this is the “bug” they’re fixing). The extra vitality is helpful because both have low health pools. The other three stats — healing, toughness, and condition damage — aren’t amazingly helpful, but they’re somewhat useful (as guard, I apply constant burning, healing does help a few skills, and most things don’t 1-shot me so toughness helps).

For ascended armor, assuming a mixture of zerker and valkryie armor, I’m trading 182 power for an extra 59 vit + 147 of each of (toughness + healing + condition) + 2% critical damage.

As someone who does occasionally get hit (usually when trying to get others up off the floor), I’m sure the vitality is helpful, and I think the other stats are marginally helpful — enough to justify that reduction in power.

But if the fix to critical damage doesn’t involve buffing other stats, then I’ll agree — without the extra crit dmg, I’d have crafted zerker instead. :-/

You’re curious about my assertation, and then you write a paragraph that sums it up?

Elementalist and Guardian are the two classes whose strength is in their ability to do a bit of everything, thus Celestial, which also does a bit of everything, is marginally useful for them. You’d still be better off specializing though.

I have a great Celestial Build for my Warrior in wvw, when roaming. Just with the common Ele and Guardian Celestial Builds, i can do a bit of everything and make use of every stat in some way. But as my build is not very common, many people struggle to find a weakness in it, while i can pressure them with decent direct dps, condi damage and CC.

i have one on my theif as well, and its the same thing. i can bleed my foe at the same time as hitting him with a backstab. i love being able to make use of every stat.

anyone have any ideas what this will be used for? We know its not Armour or weapons, that means it has to be used in crafting precursors or rings.

As Xyxtus said, the game itself cannot cause blue screens. i had similar issues when gw2 was released. turns out after 2 months of trying to figure out the cause. Turns out my processor was bunked (it was an AMD Phenom X4). id suggest taking it to a shop to see what they can tell you.

This is the first day the bloodlust buff has been released. Remember when WXP was added? everyone just killed for a week straight. it will calm down once people stop being so excited about it.

im on BP and we actually managed to combat that zerg quite well. we just split our normal 20 man guild group into 4, 5 manned groups. then proceed to run circles around the zerg. taking, loosing, and retaking there buff points. within an hour we had there +150 down to +50 for each server. it worked quite well. people just need to learn how to combat this new play style.

not to mention vH will make everyone in the guild transfer to SOS on our own funds, then kick all high ranking members within a 3 days of the transfer

Joined vH about a month ago after my last WvW guild went stale. loved there TS chat and style of playing the first night. this is a great guild and you will never regret joining us. most fun i have had in a MMORPG in a long time.

Same problem here, started after the February update (seriously the day after it updated) .
BSOD when ever i try to play the game. started at once per 5 hour session. not i cannot even log on and get to character selection screen without a BSOD.
i can play other games fine with no issues, this is a problem directly related to GW2, all above suggestion and a re install of GW2 followed by a fresh windows instillation on a separate HD did nothing to help solve the problem.
Im putting in a ticket for this tonight. for me this is unacceptable to have this happen to this any players. and not even respond with a “were working on it”
