Here how it should be:
I came back after a long 7 months break and I found how all the UI changes are subpar downgrade in my experience. The user interface experience just got worse in some area especially for the Hero panel itself.
I feel like the current Hero UI panel is hassle to work with. Too much clicking needed especially when you need to swap things in tight timely manner.
Here is the IMGUR album with description explains everything. All done in photoshop to demo what can be improve.
Any other suggestions feel free to write.
Pic 1 – Problem 1: When you first open your Hero panel… BLANK! Should be default to Equipment view and then remember last opened panel when you reopen after the first time!
Pic 2 – Variation 1 UX: Rework basic idea of better UI (User Experiences) Basically here allow you to one click switch to 1 of the 3 optional Equipment / Wardrobe / Dye panels.
Get rid of the click open and close each panel between Equipment / Wardrobe / Dyes… Oh my lord that was a terrible design.
Pic 3 – Variation 2 UX: Tab features at the top easy and fast switching to your needs instead of double time clicking open and close to open one and another!
The design is to reduce the headroom space and allow more room for the contents / selections.
Tooltip said it all.
Pic 4 – Variation 2 UX: Showing the Dye Panel with Sub Tab!
Coming from Designer view, Icon / Image / Photo worth a 1k Word! Remember this, we human recognize things by shape and color quicker than details and words.

Here is the demo.
The reason Blizzard is doing it because he played W3 and WoW. Having Anet to take that fame just to honor him by using his name would be just marketing stun.
That would be rude.
Let’s clear something up about AP.
AP is now about player skill. It is not about experience.
AP in my opinion measures how seriously you take this game – if you took the time to grind out achievement points every day/living story cycle then that means GW2 means a lot to you and that you’re willing to put in time and effort into this game.
What does that mean? Why does it matter?
It means that you’re probably going to have invested enough time to be up to date with the latest builds, have ascended/legendary gear, and generally played through most of the game lots of times.
People that farm AP are generally players who aim for the top of everything in the game. The most expensive/ rare gear, the hardest titles – that sort of thing.
So yes – in a sense AP does matter as an indicator – an indicator for people to find other similar people.
High-AP people want to play with other high-AP people because they’re similar. And similar people have similar goals but also similar solutions to getting those goals.High-AP players tend to be reward-oriented – and naturally want to group up with other reward-oriented people in order to maximize efficiency.
So if you’re new and feel excluded because of AP – it doesn’t have anything to do with you as a person and has everything to do with the fact that you’re new or not so invested in the game.
It’s been 2 years since the game started and experienced players pretty much want other experienced players to play with.
I’m hoping this clears up a few misconceptions about AP.
I’ve seen a lot of people saying that it doesn’t mean you are experienced or good – and they’re right.
But because of the reasons above any experienced player will tell you that if you have to choose between 2 random players in your party the one with higher AP has a better chance of being experienced than the one with the lower AP ( provided of course the difference is somewhat significant – anything over 2-3k difference).
The 16k-20k AP players still wipe and die in boss encounters, last to survive myself end up rezzing them at the end and solo if needed. I’m sitting at 9k with decked out Legendaries and armors.
What’s the deal here. You’re the one in misconception. Some players don’t farm AP every day. Players have a life and some players are really good at games and technical aspect of theory crafting builds. AND they don’t give a crap about AP.
Back in the day where players had 10k AP just sit all day long buying junks and salvage for AP. You call that serious skilled players at salvaging. Right.
Players took 6-12 months break, missing out all the 10k AP from festival events (like a joke) free AP. Coming back still left off 9K AP like myself, you call these players who took time away in RL and right off saying they are not skilled. I wonder how would you call a friend of yours with who took time off and missing out just the free AP festival events.
Get a life. You are so one-sided.
Yeah… Recycler 1 AP: Accidentally salvage 10 items is serious game business. uh huh… right… get your logic straight.

And this too, Anet: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/UI-Hero-Panel-can-be-improved-Here-s-how/first#post4218473
This concept may already been brought up by other players, I’m sure that I am not the first. But here is my concept indicators as an option for some other players.
1. Add an option to enable icon indicator.
See Picture Here
This is good for those who don’t want to see bunch of text on their screen but they also want to see or spot enemies easily as people with text enabled.
2. Player can always hold down CTRL key anytime to display all enemies names. If they have the option “Show All Enemy Names” unchecked (This is already there)
3. Concept demo I’ve photoshop those new icons in.
Current WvWvW: See Picture Here
Concept WvWvW: See Picture Here
p.s. Scroll to zoom into the picture.
4. The concept above, all the enemies including 2 other servers you’re against will shows the same icon.
5. Other solution is to have the icon in color depends which borderland they are from.
See Picture Here (Please don’t request for my artworks.)
6. Additional notes, the enemy you target will always full display the icon and names. This is making it easier to see who you targeted on the field of zergs.
Q&A
Yeah but I need to see the enemies where they are from + guild tags. I can’t if it is just all icons.
First, this is an additional option for those players who wants different visual. Secondly, option or not, you can always hold down CTRL key to reveal their title and server names.
Please, feel free to post more suggestions!

Network Error again!
It’s just probably the guild server database is downed.
FYI, Trading Post is world wide across all server. No need to say "My server (FA) …. "
Can the AGGRO mechanic be anymore BROKEN?
In COF random time, I get all the aggro in Path 2 even I don’t attack at all. I ran away from the group fight and leashed them okay fine. I ran back… all turns around and face me again.
REALLY? I didn’t even hit them.
What kitten me off is that, they constant toss me around like a volleyball, hammer stun me down. I can’t do anything. I used up all 3 stun break constantly for every CC on me. Then died.
Are there no DIMINISHING RETURN ON CC AT ALL?
This is beyond dumb mechanic!
YES I’ve READ -> http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Aggro
The thing is BROKEN! Not working as intended. I’m an Ele, I dont’ even have high HP or high Toughness..
This is not making any senses but to make the player out of control in combat.
Game that leads player out of control = BAD!
It is really stupid, you’re getting half of the world pop in GW2 unhappy because a lot of people are missing out. I got my event done but I DO care for other because you’re losing the community!
I have 2x Elementalist lvl 80 characters. lol
Anyways, Elementalist requires a load of effort to be efficient. It’s just insane the amount of time we have to build up the gears and trait for a proper bunker spec by sacrifice so much damages output for survival.
Glass cannon if you don’t time it right, we just die. Or ganged by 2 players pretty much instant death. Even now Elementalist bunker 2000 toughness with 20k HP can only last a couple of few seconds if being ganked by 3 glass cannons. Problem here is, you cannot kill but to die slowly.
Yes, I’ve seen rare Elementalist video vs 3-5 players (those opposing players aren’t even good in PVP) so that defeat the purpose of it.
So my answer to you, Elementalist if VERY fragile if you do not put effort into it (dance attunements and timing).
… Thief -> 1,2,1,2,1,2,2,1,2,12,12,1,2,12,1,2,12,1,2, hell yeah, game is so simple to play with ownage.
And no, I haven’t try much into Thief, aside of that 1,2,12 jokes. I cannot comment how are they played out. But this is my perspective from playing an Elementalist.

Nice but how about adjusting the price on the materials? It is getting more and more expensive each week and I am unable to catch up with the cost.
Example only!
Jan
Total 100 X items costs 60g
Feb 100 X items costs 80g
March 100 X items costs 110g
Really? Will I ever get to finish farming? So much grinding!
Meanwhile, our or everyone gold income from dungeons and events is approx 10g per day average, it’s not like in real world that the minimum income increases every year so does the gas.
But here is like Gas keeps going up but our income stay constant. It’s really tiring!
I’ve been farming about 4-5 hours per day since October 2012 (after I hit 80 to go after legendary).

When Bethesda Softworks released Elder Scrolls Online, the industry took notice as the publisher fearlessly announced a subscription model, rather than going free-to-play like its direct competitor Guild Wars 2 (NCsoft).
This just in with the digital games market data. I see other NCsoft games but GW2 is missing in there.
http://www.superdataresearch.com/blog/us-digital-games-market/
I know GW2 is doing well but I would like to see some data someday xD
Nerfing it will make it worse, everyone is running Fractal. Almost no one is going to run other dungeons for the moment. If you nerf it, there will be zero people interested to run any other dungeons than Fractal.
Here is my look, like a sir.
Pixelpumpkin, usually this is a starting symptom of hardware failure. My previous GPU GTX680 issue, have a look.

RMA the card at the end.
Additional shot: If you guys haven’t notice if you un-stow your staff or any weapons. It grows bigger to the correct ratio.
When you stow your weapon, it looks odd because it shrink for no reason. There is enough room for the weapons behind the back. I’m not sure what is the issue with the gear designer at Anet…
Armors looks boring on Asura. Sorry to say this but in comparison to other races. It have big differences.
Screenshot below are the SAME armor I crafted and I put on preview between 2 races. You decide which one looks best.
For the whole time, I have been wondering why all the armors I got looks like crap. How are other people getting those epic looks while in the past 80 levels. None of them looks good at all.
Then I made a human and do a preview armor test on them… Sorry, I’m rerolling. I don’t mine making the same profession and level it again. It was disappointing, for spending all my times on an Asura at the end.
I know stats wise what’s count the most but I’m on of the person also prefer styles. Especially in sPVP, stats are all same across all gears but the look makes up everything.

I hope they’ll do it some time. The people who played GW1 can have them for free and have them free to apply, the ones that didn’t play that game can pay for it and get it too and have to spend charges. Everyone happy.
I’d like to get me some HoM skins but I’m not going to play a completely different game that is 10 years old, outdated, doesn’t seem like a fun game to me and as far as I heard isn’t even a MMO.
GW1 free? Every GW1 holder has to pay the box copy or key for the game. It’s not free.
Here is mine,

When it comes to big upgrades, CPU and Board is always first. CPU is the heart while the board is the body. GPU is your leg. Your leg is still strong but your heart can’t keep up the pace with all the blood pressure. So you will be handicapped by your heart (bottleneck).
Exactly! What is the point anymore? This is bad, I don’t think I ever able to do any events until the least population hours. I’m on High pop servers this is hard to get into non-overflow.
Did you interrupt the transfer? Corrupted on the new location?
AP in my opinion measures how seriously you take this game
No, it measures how seriously you take achievement points.
I agree.
Honestly, this might not be the best place to ask about overclocking. Please head and sign up at http://www.overclock.net . The community there is huge to help overclocking. I have the same name tag on that community website.
Anet Policy, no modification to game files (.exe & .dat) or else it will result in perma ban.

Um, that analogy doesnt really work in the Computer world. There are plenty of times when the GPU is the bottleneck and the CPU is not.
That’s true but always need to have the best boards to support all the rest of the component for future upgrades. CPU and Board are the one doesn’t change often. Meanwhile you upgrade your GPU every 2-3 years (some people does).
Jumping back to traditional traveling like in WoW or even Tera. Waste so much times to get to places and by then, you will miss the events.
I don’t want to spend 20min to travel.
I’m on Windows 8 Pro + IPS monitors. Its’ the same, so @OP, it’s just placebo.
Make sure you set this up… who knows what is going to happen every late night in Guild Wars 2 world.
It is about 16.5gb now at min. It will hit 20GB+ in future contents. If you are worry about your storage space on SSD, you can also junction link it.
Google “Junction Link” to learn more about it.
150kb/sec yikes, long download.
Because all the spell effects are actually a texture box like a PNG with transparency. So if you apply overlay effect over that transparency, the box will shows up.
This is most likely the reason the game is playable on low end system. DX9 no real heavy particle effects which requires way more processing powers.
1. Disable the ability to mail money.
2. Hire in-game GM, or someone is pro at identifying bots. Like many of us are.
Upgrade your current, is your current computer chassis a standard ATX mounting? If not you need to buy a new chassis which is sub $100 for a budget one. Then those standard goes on for years unless you want different fashion of the chassis.
CPU and Motherboard depends on your budget. You can go Core i5 or i7 with Z87 or Z97 board (current).
I’ve built a friend a rig 1.5 years ago, powering GW2 with Core i5 3570k + Z77 board with a GPU HD6970 which run perfectly fine.
GW2 is a CPU intensive anyways.
I’m not affiliating with Geforce here but here is some basic information you need to know.

Chat is fine, instant but skills and abilities are lagging behind 1.5 to 2 seconds which makes everything hard to play tonight.
Checked my network, nothing wrong. 16ms latency full speed. Your move Anet.
I think player like @OP wants to avoid teaching. This is not how to be a leader in any aspect of the game. This is just purely selfish and generalization.
Once in a while I have new players in my party, I always ask who is new and willing to teach on the run. Helping players and they might even catch up to you someday and be skilled as you.
Some player level up in PvP only and in fact those players are probably very skilled in PVP and a bit of adjustment in PVE side. They can sit around 2k AP in that case.
All statistics online social media website are all over the places. The only reliable source if you ask Anet and each game studios about the population active players. That’s the proper way to measure it.
Not 3rd party software, not even Steam that has 30million+ accounts with 6-7mil active peak time.
Why?
1. Not everyone use Steam to launch GW2.
2. Not everyone use Raptr with GW2.
3. Not everyone use Overwolf with GW2.
4. Not everyone use GW2.exe launcher to start the game.
5. There are at least freaking 4 examples way to launch GW2.
X. How is this reliable statistic? It’s all over the places.
Me. I use SweetFX Configurator to launch GW2.

Board brands: ASUS, MSI in my preferences.
And you shouldn’t worry about computer ports these days. All come in standard USB2.0/3.0, SATA, PCI-E, etc.)

Give us your motherboard model, please.
I am getting Network Error… all the time.
Skyrim mod… HD textures and heavy AA. nods I would go for GTX780 and get those extra for watercooling.
Custom loop is about $400-$500 range for your platform.
I find that GW2 is a much more expensive game than a sub base game. That money can get you 2 months sub and game items are not limited to real life money even if it is not pay 2 win items.
I prefer sub base game because I can get all the items I wanted without paying $20 for one piece and $20 for another piece. That is equivalent to 4 mths of sub.
Rapier is coming…
